Sizemore
Graveside services for Michael Wayne Sizemore, 34, were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2004, at Bluewater Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Marsh officiating.
He was born January 14, 1970 in Houston, the son of Michael and Peggy Ballard Sizemore He married Ann Sizemore on February 14, 1998 in Moss Hill.
Mr. Sizemore died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at his residence in Rye. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joy Hildebrandt; great-grandfather, James Brumfield; and great-grandmother, Clida Brumfield.
Survivors include his wife of five years, Ann Sizemore of Rye; son, Shannon Paul Sizemore of Silsbee; step-daughters, Jennifer Ann Silva of Rye, Jacquelyn Ashley Silva of Riffle, Colorado and Jamie Krystine Silva of Austin; father, Michael Sizemore of Spring; mother, Peggy Jean Williams of Segno; grandfathers, Melvin Lester Kaufman of Rye, Ernest Hildebrandt of Rye and Charles Ballard of Houston; grandmother, Elsie Lee Kaufman of Rye; godsons, Justin Poor and Jordan Poor, both of Votaw; aunt, Gaylene Falkenberry of Canyon City, Colorado; aunt and uncle, Janas and Al Goldsmith of Huntsville; aunt, Carolyn Brumfield of Houston; and numerous cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Al Goldsmith, Ernest Hildebrandt, Mickey Howell, Max Osbourne, Colby Lanphier and Phillip Jones.

Walker
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2004, at Bethel Baptist Church for Wanda Lou Walker, 64, with the Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker was born December 2, 1939 in Trinity, the daughter of Thomas and Thelma Garrett Cockrell, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Walker was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She died Thursday, February 12, 2004, in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Walker and David Walker, both of Livingston; daughters-in-law, Shelby Walker and Stacey Walker, both of Livingston; sisters, Dora Pierce of Crosby and Linny Parrish of Trinity; grandsons, Brandon Walker, Carson Walker, Garrett Walker and Blayne Walker, all of Livingston; and nephews, Robert Self of Crosby and Richard Self of Huntsville.
Pallbearers were David Wood, Christopher Ellis, Sean Ellis, Merle Pulley sr. and Merle Pulley Jr.

Cummings

Funeral services for Brenton Branch Cummings, 91, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Livingston, were held Wednesday, February 4, 2004, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Berry Duke officiating. Burial followed in center Grove Cemetery. Graveside masonic services were under the auspices of Trinity Lodge No. 14 AF&AM.
He was born December 25, 1912 in Camden, Texas, the son of Henry and Malinda Parrish Cummings. He was a member of Winnie Street Baptist Church in Livingston, Trinity Lodge No. 14 AF&AM and Order of the Eastern Star, Shepherd Chapter.
Mr. Cummings died Sunday, February 1, in Joplin, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Napoleon Cummings; his mother, Malinda Parrish Cummings; and his wife, Ora Mable Jordan Cummings.
Survivors include his son, Sol Cummings and wife, Karen, of Joplin, Missouri; brothers, B.J. Cummings and Burlton Cummings, both of Houston; sister, Bonarec Puckett; grandchildren, Marla King, Glen Cummings, Sonny Baino, Donald Cummings, Kathy Sparrow, Jeff Barnett and Justin Barnett; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Glen Cummings, Sonny Baino and Donald Cummings. Honorary pallbearer was Richard Abercrombie.

Dowdell

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 1, 2004 for Wanda Jean Dowdell, 52, of Daisetta, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nolan Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
A native of Beaumont, she has lived the past 20 years in Daisetta.
Dowdell died at home after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by daughter, Vicki Lynn Boudreaux; and parents, James and Elaine McCormick.
Survivors include her husband, V.R. 'Joe' Dowdell of Daisetta; sons, Raymond Dowdell and Liz of Daisetta, David Dowdell and Gloria of Hardin and Michael Dowdell and Stacy of Liberty; brothers, James McCormick and Diane of Liberty and Wesley McCormick and Beverly of Winnie; sisters, Joyce Hicks of Lumberton, Velma McCormick of Winnie, Tatt Goff and Ray of Twin City, Linda Meshell and Emmett of Winnie and Peggy Stanley and Troy of Winnie; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Greak

Graveside services for Rosie Greak, of Sour Lake, were held Thursday, February 5, 2004 at City Cemetery in Liberty.
A native of Saratoga, and a resident of Sour Lake for 23 years. Greak was an avid bowler. She passed away on February 2 at St. Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Greak of Sour Lake; daughter, Bonnie Peltier of Sour Lake; sons, Ted Greak and his wife, Liz, of Sugarland, and John Greak and his wife, Anne, of Boiling Springs, North Carolina; grandchildren, Sarah Johnston, Amanda Johnston, Tamara Greak, Patrick Greak, James Greak, Chris Greak and Jeremy Greak; and one great grandchild, Logan Bryant.

McClain

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004 for Dorothy McClain, 81, formerly of Livingston, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Lindell Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery.
She was born April 13, 1922 in Turnersville, the daughter of Virgil Lee Sparks and Maude Elizabeth Baker Sparks. Mrs. McClain was a member of Livingston Church of Christ.
Mrs. McClain died Monday, February 2, at her resident in Rusk. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rufus Fount McClain; and son, Donald Ray McClain.

Norman

Funeral services for Doyle H. Norman, 75, of Onalaska, were conducted Monday, February 2, 2004, from the First Baptist Church of Onalaska, with the Rev. Don Wilkey officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery, Onalaska.
He was born June 10, 1928 in Purvis, Mississippi, the son of Thurman Lee Norman and Lonia Carpenter Norman. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1951 and married Reva Roberson in El Dorado, Arkansas on May 30, 1953. He was employed by AAMCO for 35 years. He was a member and served as a deacon of First Baptist Church of Onalaska. He loved to hunt deer.
Mr. Norman died Friday, January 30, 2004 in St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Edward Norman and Harlin Lee Norman; and sister, Mary Norman.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Reva Norman of Onalaska; sister, Willa M. Campbell of Purvis, Mississippi; nephews and wives, Don and Karen Norman, Derick and Barbara Norman and Dwayne and Kim Norman, all of Purvis, Mississippi; nieces, Elizabeth Caruso of New Orleans, Louisiana, Claudia Lebeaux and husband, Kenny, of Purvis, Mississippi, Carolyn Nance and husband, Bob, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Susan Pullig of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ginger Jordan and husband, Mark of Floriene, Louisiana and Becky Shoemaker and husband, Mark, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Harold Roberson and wife, Evelyn; several great-nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

Prater
February 15, 2004
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 1, 2004 from the First United Methodist Church in Livingston for Thomas F. Prater Jr., 83, of Livingston, with Dr. Tom Kennedy, the Revs. James Frazier and Mary Shivers officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery.
He was born July 7, 1920 in Temple, the son of Thomas Francis Prater Sr. and Martha Florence Prater.
Tom, May Alice, and his 6-month-old son came to Livingston in 1948. He was a salesman for Automotive Parts and Services and later worked as a salesman for Livingston Wholesale. He was the owner of two Texaco service stations and owned and operated Prater's Auto Parts, a wholesale auto parts business. He was forced to retire from this business due to ill health in 1979. After retirement, he occasionally worked as a salesman for Putt Watson Motor Company. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class and McSpadden Methodist Men. He had served on the Administrative Board, the Finance Committee and had been president of Methodist Men. He had been a long time member of the Livingston Lions Club and served as president of the Livingston Independent School District Board of Trustees. He was a charter member of the VFW Post 8568. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Prater died Thursday, January 29, 2004 in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Bernice Daniel and Mabel Utley.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, May Alice Prater of Livingston; son, John Robert 'Bob' Prater of Livingston; grandson, John Franklin Prater of Gunnison, Colorado; sister, Ganelle Moore of Temple; nephew and wife, Tom and Carol Moore of College Station; niece and husband, Nancy and James Johnson of Montgomery; great-nephew, Scott Cain of Houston; nephew and wife, Dan and Debbie Utley of Austin; niece, Patsy Beasley of Temple; great-nephew and wife, Douglas and Jill Moore of Dallas; great-great niece, Brooke Moore of Dallas; and great-great nephew, Denson Moore of Dallas.
Pallbearers were George Harrell, Dave Nixon, Johnny Walker, Bid Smith, Greg Ogletree, Edwin Carter, Chuck Hinton and Judson Pritchard. Honorary pallbearers were the Friendship Sunday School Class and the Methodist Men.

Windham

Funeral services for Woermann Gibson "Gip" Windham, 85, of Livingston, were held Saturday, February 7, 2004 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Tom Kennedy officiating. Interment followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston.
Mrs. Windham was born February 15, 1918 in Trinity County, the daughter of W.L. and Hattie English Gibson. She attended Groveton High School and was a graduate of Sam Houston State University, where she was a member of the Ashbel Literary Society and was selected "most Beautiful" of her class.
"Gip" taught in the Livingston School system for several years before her marriage to James Windham on January 9, 1942. She was known as a dedicated homemaker whose family was her highest priority in her life. She was a Girl Scout leader, den mother, band sponsor, basketball mom and mother to the neighborhood and the consummate teacher. She took particular pride in her volunteer work as an auxiliary nurse for many years at the Polk County Memorial Hospital. She married the love of her life and was an inspiration to James throughout their marriage.
Mrs. Windham was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Vivian Robertson Gibson; ad husband, James M. Windham.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James M. Jr. and Lela Windham of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Allen Alderson of Shreveport, Louisiana; granddaughters, Victoria Windham of Houston and Caroline Windham of Louisville, Kentucky; sister and brother-in-law, Ninon and Ralph Arnett of Dallas; and longtime friend, care giver and confidant, Dot Robinson of Livingston.
Honorary pallbearers were F.M. Archer, Bill Brown, Joe T. Dabney, B.A. Glover, B.C. Lively, Ben R. Ogletree, Mike Parker, Joe Pedigo, Don Reily, Jerome Thomason and Rudy Williams.

Bickham
February 15, 2004
Funeral services for Robert 'Bear Hunter' Bickham, 54, of Indian Springs, were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004, at Pace Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Interment followed in Camp Ruby Cemetery.
Mr. Bickham was born on March 1, 1949 in Port Arthur to parents Howell and Maxine Sharpston Bickham. He was employed as a welder and boilermaker and was a union member of Local 587. He had been a Polk County resident for 20 years moving from Deweyville. He and his wife, Louise, were married on June 24, 1984 in Livingston. He enjoyed traveling with close friends, Dusty and Sandy Kirkland.
He died Monday, February 2, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Bickham was preceded in death by a daughter, Monica Guillory in 2003; his father; and two brothers, Hal Bickham Jr. and Travis Bickham.
Survivors include his wife, Louise, of Indian Springs; mother, Maxine Bickham of Deweyville; daughters, Melissa LaFleur and husband, Brent, of Buna, Summer Moore and husband, Logan, of Deweyville and Heather Bickham of Indian Springs; sons, Johnny Haining and wife, Tammy, of LaBelle, and Jimmy Haining and wife, Jamie, of Groves; sisters, Mary Whittlesey of San Augustine and Charlotte Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Nerren Haining, Kyle Bickham, Carlajo Guillory, Alyssa Haining, Zackry LaFleur and Hunter Haining.

Harvey A. Theiss

MADISONVILLE — Services for Harvey A. Theiss, 68, of Normangee and formerly of Westfield, Texas, are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in North Zulch.
The Rev. A.J. Loeschman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville.
Mr. Theiss died Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Westfield and lived in Madison County since 1974. He was a rancher and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he was chairman of the congregation.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Theiss of Normangee; a son, Lorne Theiss of Normangee; a daughter, Lisa Michelle Theiss of Normangee; five brothers, Edwin Theiss, Clarence Theiss and Earl Theiss, all of North Zulch, Herbert Theiss of Waller and Kenneth Theiss of Normangee; and three grandchildren.

John Davis Williams

CENTERVILLE — Memorial services for John Davis Williams, 70, of Centerville are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville.
Judy Nauman, a family friend, will give the eulogy.
Mr. Williams died Tuesday in Tyler.
He was born in Tunica, Miss., and lived in Centerville 21 years. He was a vinyl and aluminum siding installer.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Emanis Williams of Centerville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Johnny Williams and James Clay Williams, both of Centerville, and Michael and Nicole Williams of Magnolia, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol and Dan Helterbran of Centerville and Jackie Turner of Palm Springs, Calif.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Francis and Ken Allen of Magnolia and Jo Ann Hill of Mississippi; a brother, Bobby Williams of Tunnica, Miss.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
