Taylor
Funeral services for Walter Lazine 'Bubba' Taylor, 49, of Daisetta, were held Thursday, February 19, 2004, at Pentecostal Tabernacle with Pastor J.O. Hendricks and Pastor Lonnie Jordan officiating. Interment followed at Oakdale Cemetery in Daisetta.
He was born September 16, 1954, in Liberty, the son of Joe Walter Taylor and Onetta Fregia. He lived his entire life in Daisetta and attended church at Pentecostal Tabernacle. He loved the outdoors, especially sitting outside on nice days, going to the beach, hog and deer hunting, horseback riding, four-wheeling, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed playing volleyball and baseball.
His family will remember him as an outspoken but very loving person who enjoyed spending time with his family. His greatest love was children, and though he had none of his own, he dearly loved playing and spending time with his many nieces and nephews, according to those who knew him. He will be truly missed.
Mr. Taylor died at his home on Monday, February 16. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his two brothers, Robert Taylor and wife, Essie, and Gary Taylor and wife, Tommie, all of Daisetta; sisters, Joe Etta Holder of Daisetta, Peggy Whiddon and husband, Richard, of Daisetta, Judy Nugent and husband, Clayton, of Daisetta, Reta Slack and husband, Johnny, of Daisetta, Melissa Dodd and husband, Wesley, of Daisetta, Vicki Moor and husband, Charles, of Hull, Carolyn Carr and husband, Charles, of Devers and Teddy Fregia and husband, Dwayne, of Daisetta; five nieces and nephews; 45 great nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Goodwin
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2004, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel for Ewell Edward Goodwin, 86, of Livingston, with Lindell Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Old Peebles Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born January 4, 1918 in Leesville, Louisiana, the son of George and Dona Rowzee Goodwin. He served in the U.S. Army in the United States and in the European Theatre from April 1941 to October 1945. He attained the rank of T. Sgt. and earned an honorable discharge at Fort Bliss, Texas. He married Caroline Hoyland in Alta Loma on September 12, 1942. He was employed by Marathon Oil Refinery in Texas City for 35 years before retiring in May of 1980. He had been a member of the Church of Christ for 60 years. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 8568 and American Legion Post 312, both in Livingston. He was also a member of OCAW Local No. 4-449 in Texas City.
Mr. Goodwin died Monday, February 16, 2004, at Livingston Convalescent Center. He was preceded in death by his father, George I. Goodwin; mother, Dona Allie Rowzee Goodwin; sons, David Good and Jerry Baggs; brothers, James Goodwin and Edd Goodwin; sisters, Mildred Baggs, Zelnia Fletcher, Zelma Fletcher, Callie Young, Vera Reader, Myrtie Bagley, Louise LaVergne and Jenette Steed.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Caroline Goodwin of Livingston; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen "Katy" and Gene Holmes of Livingston, Wanda and Gordya Shulick of Westville, Florida and Patricia Gandy of Pickering, Louisiana; grandchildren, Paul Holmes and wife, Pamela, Toby Goodwin and wife, Deania, Clint Goodwin and wife, Tammy Lynn, Terence Claer and wife, Kim, Danny Goodwin, Melanie Goodson, Earnest Baggs and Julie Wytovac and husband, Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Michael Holmes, Lauren Holmes, Bryce Holmes, Brock Holmes, David Allen, Hope Goodwin and Isabella Claer; sisters, Helen Parson of Beaumont and Allie DeLisle of Nashua, New Hampshire; sister-in-law, Dessie Hoyland of Livingston; special loved ones, Barbara Goodwin of Santa Fe and Willene Wells of Splendora; and many other relatives and friends.

Jones
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21 in Big Sandy Cemetery for Floyd Lonzo Jones, 71, of Shepherd, with Bro. Rex Hendrix officiating.
He was born September 6, 1932 in Manatte County, Florida, the son of John Paul Jones and Eva Lawillowa Jones Jones, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Jones died Monday, February 16, 2004, at his residence in Shepherd.
Survivors include his son, David Jones of Shepherd; daughters, Judy Dillon of Dallardsville and Joyce Kroidart of Mesa, Arizona; brother, Bill Jones; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Webb
Funeral services for Leah Webb, 55, of Onalaska, were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, with the Rev. Don Wilkey officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.
She was born on May 23, 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Carmello Santa Lucia and Mary Spagnolia Santa Lucia. She married Billy Webb on November 23, 1967 in Orange.
Mrs. Webb died Tuesday, February 17, in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Ashley Figueroa.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Billy Webb of Onalaska; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Walter Figueroa of Houston; brothers, Michael Santa Lucia and Salvorte Santa Lucia, both of Boston, Massachusetts; sister, Marianne Baker of Weymouth, Massachusetts; granddaughters, Michelle Figueroa, Monica Figueroa and Lilly Figueroa, all of Houston; and grandson, Walter Figueroa Jr. of Houston.

Celestine
Funeral services for Tillman Jordan Celestine, 81, of Lufkin, were conducted Monday, February 9, 2004, at the First Texas Indian Baptist Church on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, with the Rev. Robertson and fellow ministers from Angelina County officiating. A graveside military service followed.
A native of East Texas, he was born in Ruby and had resided in Angelina County for 19 years. He was a member of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Livingston. He devoted 22 years of service in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant and was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Mr. Celestine died on February 6, 2004.
Survivors include his daughters, Minnie Cameron of La Pine, Oregon, Glenda Celestine of Berkley, California, Dianna and husband, Kevin Mann of Berkley, California and Lisa Chandler of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Scharlotte Celestine of Rusk; and grandchildren, Jennifer Celestine Kevin Jennings, Christian Celestine, Matthew Celestine, Kodi Jennings and Vera Celestine.
Pallbearers were Jerry Chandler, Josh Stricklin, Sherald Sylestine, Dawn Stripling, Glee Searson, Eric Chandler, Joe Thomas Sr., Micah Poteet and Larry Williams. Honorary pallbearers were his family members.
Dixon
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 11, 2004 for Archie 'Jack' Dixon, 90, of Houston, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial was in Brookside Memorial Cemetery in Houston.
He was born February 28, 1913 in Lindale, the son of John and Matilda Taylor Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a member of the M.I.L.A.
Mr. Dixon died Sunday, February 8, 2004 in Porter. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim Dixon, Johnny Dixon, Troy Dixon, Raymond Dixon and Kelly Dixon; daughter, Lydia Wright; step-son, Buddy Ezell; and former spouse, Polly Dixon.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Dixon of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Rex Ekwall of Houston; son, Bobby Dixon of Mustang, Oklahoma; step-son, Bobby Joe Collins of Houston; step-daughters, Barbara Mittelstedt and Maxine Acosta, both of Houston; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Largent
Gloria Neil Largent, 75, died Saturday, February 7, 2004, in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Largent of Shepherd; son-in-law, Jim Roman of Shepherd; and grandsons, Tim Largent, Daniel Largent and Joshua Largent, all of Shepherd.

McClain
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel for Juanita McClain, 88, of Livingston, with Ed Smith officiating. Burial followed in Camp Ruby Cemetery.
She was born December 9, 1915 in Camden, the daughter of Ashley and Cora Barrington Stringer.
Mrs. McClain died Sunday, February 8, in Memorial Health System of East Texas in Lufkin. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank C. McClain; four brothers and four sisters.

Floretta Mae McDonald, 70, died Thursday, February 5, 2004, in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston.
She was born September 8, 1933 in Atoka, Oklahoma, the daughter of Oscar and Jennie Housewright McDonald. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Orval McDonald; her mother, Jennie Bessie Housewright DeWitt; husband, William C. McDonald; and brother, Richard W. DeWitt.
Survivors include her sons, Calvin Nichols of Maryland and Don Wade Nichols of Arkansas; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Glenn R. Allen of Point Blank; daughter, Debbie Lynn Oldham of Florida; brother, Joe Orval DeWitt; sisters, Mary Lue Homes, Tiny Margaret Watson, Wanda Lou Burns and Frances Lee Clayton; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Owens
Funeral services for R.J. Owens, 86, of Livingston, were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2004, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Poe officiating. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota.
He was born January 5, 1918 in Grimes County, the son of John and Anna Mullins Owens. Mr. Owens served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Owens died Friday, February 13, 2004, in Livingston. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry Owens and Johnny Owens; and sisters, Odessa Gable and Violet Darr.
Survivors include his sister and brothers-in-law, Earline and Alex Binford of Livingston; brother, George Owens of Shiro; sisters-in-law, Viola Owens of Tulerosa, New Mexico and Louise Owens of El Paso; brother-in-law, Joseph Darr of El Paso; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Trinity Lodge No. 14, which conducted a Masonic service.

Robbins
Funeral services for Jim Ed Robbins, 71, were held Saturday, February 14, 2004, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating.
He was born December 31, 1932 in Apple Springs, the son of Jesse and Ethel Page Robbins, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Jimmye Ann Robbins in May 1970 in Dickinson. Mr. Robbins was a member of Onalaska First Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Robbins died Tuesday, February 10, at his residence in Onalaska.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Jimmye Robbins of Onalaska; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Mike Lyles of League City and Lisa and Roger Morrow of West Monroe, Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Donna Robbins of Onalaska; son, David Martin of Florida; grandsons, David Perkins and wife, Cindy, of League City, Bill Taylor of Lufkin, Chad Lyles of League City and Daniel Sayko of West Monroe, Louisiana; granddaughters, Stacy Sayko and Kristy Sayko, both of West Monroe, Louisiana, Ginger Robbins and Andrea Robbins, both of Onalaska; great-grandson, Shea Perkins of League City; and great-granddaughters, Shelby Perkins and Lyra Lyles, both of League City.

Rolin
Graveside services for Bonnie Maxine Rolin, 84, of Livingston, were held Monday, February 9, 2004, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, with the Rev. C.T. Jones officiating.
She was born August 19, 1919 in Auburn, Nebraska, the daughter of Earl and Gertie Ingham Tignor, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Rolin was a volunteer with the Big Thicket Lake Estates Volunteer Fire Department for eight years. She married Dwight Rolin on December 19, 1960, who preceded her in death on January 5, 1996.
Survivors include her sister, Mabel Schroeder of Joplin, Missouri; nephew and niece, Larry and Cheryl Ann Daniels of Joplin, Missouri; brother-in-law and wife, Dale and Lois Rolin of Livingston; and sister-in-law, Midge Curtis of Livingston.
