Fullen
Cleo Fullen, 77, of Livingston, died on Sunday, February 15, 2004, in Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston.
She was born August 16, 1926 in Sunflower, Mississippi, the daughter of William Ellis Cooper and Eunice Nelms Cooper. She married Kenneth W. Fullen on August 24, 1946 in Orange.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Kenneth W. Fullen Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth W. Fullen of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Bruce Bond of Livingston; grandchildren, Stephanie Leach of Carthage, Elizabeth Florendo of Tyler, Whitney Bond of Nacogdoches and Cary May Fullen of Tyler; great-grandchildren, Dalton Leach and Joshua Leach, both of Carthage; and daughter-in-law, Gail Briscoe of Chandler.

Johnson
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 15, 2004 for Ethel Blakely Johnson, 88 1/2, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Tom Dobbs and Robert Smith officiating. Burial followed in Camp Ruby Cemetery.
Her full and happy life consisted of being an active participant in numerous civic, school and church activities. She and her husband lived in Ashdown, Arkansas until 1957, where they were active members of the First Baptist Church. In 1957, they moved to Jasper, where they lived until her husband's retirement in 1979. Both in Arkansas and Texas, Mrs. Johnson was active in the Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher, WMU president and nursery supervisor. She was also PTA president and always active in her children's school activities.
In 1979, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson moved to Big Sandy, where they hardly ever missed a sporting event of their grandsons and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Big Sandy Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson died on Friday, February 13, 2004, at the age of 88 1/2 years while in Lufkin Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, C.S. Johnson Jr.; brothers, Pete Blakely and Willie Blakely; and one sister, Nolia Blakely Wilbanks.
Survivors include her three daughters, Kay Johnson of Austin, Charlotte Hendrix and husband, Lynn, of Big Sandy, and Mona Fullmer of Temple; grandchildren, Greg Hendrix and wife, Amy, Trent Hendrix and wife, Shawna, all of Livingston, Logan Fullmer of San Marcos, Morgan Fullmer of Temple and Melissa Fullmer of Bryan; three great-grandchildren, Davis Hendrix, Grant Hendrix and Anna Grace Hendrix, all of Livingston; brother-in-law, W.H. Johnson and wife, June; and sister-in-law, Orhea Fawcett, all of Ashdown, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Bonnie McCombs of Almagordo, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

McCollum
Graveside services for Joe Lane McCollum, 64, of Shepherd, were held Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, with Ronald Ellisor officiating.
He was born July 3, 1939 in Belfast, Tennessee, the son of Roy and Velma Webster McCollum. He married Elizabeth Blake McCollum on July 11, 1965 in Lewisburg, Tennessee.
Mr. McCollum died Saturday, February 14, 2004, in Conroe Medical Center, Conroe. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Margaret Burk; and brother, Don McCollum.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth Blake McCollum of Shepherd; daughters, Sherri Strickland and Elizabeth McCarty, both of Shepherd and Karen Frady of Tampa, Florida; sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Phyllis Young of Channelview, James and Barbara Leathead of Pensacola, Florida, David Cowan of Orlando, Florida and Mickey and Betty Newton of Huffman; son-in-law, Glen Burk of Shepherd; grandsons, Lee Young and wife, Shauna, of Dayton, Christopher McCarty of Odessa, Michael Strickland and Blake Strickland, both of Shepherd, and Joe Burk and wife, Jul, of The Woodlands; granddaughters, Deborah Tiller and husband, Jason, of Channelview, Sandra McCarty of Odessa, Tonya Frady and Latoria Frady, both of Tampa, Florida and Misty Burk of Shepherd; sisters, Kay Hopper and Cathy Beard, both of Belfast, Tennessee and Carol Garner of Plaski, Tennessee; brother, Steve McCollum of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Moore
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 17, 2004 for Luther C. 'Sandy' Moore, 98, at the Church of Christ in Livingston, with Lindell Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery.
He was born on March 26, 1905 in Camden, Arkansas, the son of Don Duane and Martha Bell Carlisle Moore. He moved to Onalaska in 1907 and later to Livingston. He graduated from Livingston High School in 1924 and received a bachelor of science and master of arts degrees from Sam Houston University. He taught in Polk County schools at Onalaska, Camp Ruby, East Tempe, Carmona and Corrigan. He was elected county school superintendent in 1939 and held the office until January 1980, at which time he retired. He had a total of 54 years in the school program of Polk County.
He was a charter member and served as the first president of the Lions Club in 1941, director of the chamber of commerce, scout master, district officer of the Boy Scouts and merit badge instructor for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. His hobbies were making walking sticks, and poking sticks and hunting cemeteries. He was active in the local Democratic Party, Heritage Society, Historical Heritage Society and Historical Commission being chairman of the Historical Marker Committee. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Number 14 AF&AM for over 70 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Livingston.
Mr. Moore died Sunday, February 15, 2004, at his residence in Livingston.
Survivors include his daughter, Martha Richardson of Beaumont; grandson and wife, John C. and Debbie Richardson of Nederland; granddaughter and husband, Sandra Ann and Breene Cantwell of Victoria; great-grandchildren, Paul Harrison and Dylan Harrison, both of Nederland and Nicholas Cantwell of Victoria; sister, Cornie Fletcher of Garrison; sister-in-law, Fay Moore of Livingston; and brother-in-law, Emmitt Gilliland of Livingston.
Pallbearers were John C. Richardson, Ed Smith, Breene Cantwell, Steve Bush, Sam McDonald and Ed Smith. Honorary pallbearers were citizens of Polk County.

Shepherd
Funeral services for Doyle Shepherd, 76, were held Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Darden, pastor, officiating. Interment followed in Greenfield Cemetery.
She moved to Livingston at an early age where she attended public school. She joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful and dedicated member of the choir and Mission Ministry until she became ill. She was also employed by Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stanford for 30 years, until her retirement.
She died on February 12, 2004 in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hosea and Mary Lou Shepherd; one son, Lawrence Henry; four brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include her step-son, Johnny (Olivia) Dirden of Houston; sister, Mrs. O'Neal Washington of Livingston; two brothers-in-law, Jessie Washington and Robert Parker, both of Livingston; two godchildren, Thurman Harrell III and Thurmekia Harrell, both of Palestine; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Rod Gordon, Michael Crew, Johnny Gordon Jr., Thurman E. Harrell III, Jeffrey Dunn, Pat Robinson, Joseph Plattenburg and Brian Washington Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Lonnie Crew, Benjamin Crew, Ronald Hunter, Johnny Gordon Sr., Johnny Crew, James Goosby, Willis Fleming and the Rev. Marvin Holley.

Blackburn
Graveside services for Jim Blackburn, 83, of Rye, were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2004 at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Rye.
A lifelong Houston area resident, Mr. Blackburn was a Jeff Davis High School graduate, attended Southwest Texas State Teachers' College, was a World War II veteran and a member of the AMVETS Post 13 in Rye. He was employed many years in the beef packing industry, beginning with Armour until his retirement from Blue Ribbon Packing Company in Houston.
Mr. Blackburn died Monday, February 16, 2004 at his residence in Rye. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Eula Bush Blackburn; and his sister, Maxine Hill Blackburn.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ruby Doss Blackburn of Rye; three sons, James F. Blackburn Jr. of Selmer, Tennessee, Donald P. Blackburn of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Charles M. Blackburn of DeQuincy, Louisiana; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Crawford
A memorial service was held Wednesday, February 28, 2004 at the First Presbyterian Church in Livingston for Jack Crawford, 83, of Livingston, with the Rev. David Crawford officiating.
He was born March 28, 1920 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Newton Joseph Crawford and Inez Snyder Crawford. Mr. Crawford served 32 years in the U.S. Navy.
He died Saturday, February 14, 2004, in Livingston. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emogene E. Crawford; and two sons, Michael jack Crawford and Larry Crawford.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David W. and Noreen Crawford of Madera, California; grandsons, Gabriel Crawford of Livingston and Andrew Crawford of Georgetown; and granddaughter, Larisa Crawford of San Diego, California.

Ferrell
Funeral services for Levi Brown "L.B." Ferrell, 74, of Livingston, were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Royce Pennington officiating. Burial followed in Wright Cemetery.
He was born November 14, 1929 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, the son of Levi David Ferrell and Thelma Shepherd Cook Ferrell. Mr. Ferrell was a member of Blanchard Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Ferrell died Monday, February 16, 2004 in Livingston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ferrell; his parents; and brother, Eugene Ferrell.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Billy Wright of Magnolia; grandson and wife, Stephen and Leah Wright of Magnolia; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Bill Sigler of Batesville, Mississippi; sister, Ruby Blatch of Port Alto; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Helen Ferrell of Houston; brother, Kenneth Ferrell of Hull; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Bob Steffen, Allen Gilbert, Stephen Wright, Charlie Manning, John Smith and Jerry Cartwright. Honorary pallbearer was Thurman Whitesides.

Chow
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2004 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, for JoAnn Chow, 65, with Chaplain Judy Forsman officiating.
She was born May 25, 1938 in Audubon County, Iowa, the daughter of William K. and Mable Katherine Christensen Jacobsen. She married Allen Chow on August 1, 1964 in Dallas.
Mrs. Chow died Wednesday, February 18, at her residence in Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clark Jacobsen and Bill Jacobsen; and sister, Mary Lee Anderson.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Edward Allen Chow of Livingston; brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Edna Jacobsen of Washington; sister, Kathy Safely of Washington; sister and brother-in-law, Carren and Tony Carusso of Washington; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Kaemmerling
Graveside services for Vill Worsley Kaemmerling, 80, of Hull, were held Friday, February 20, 2004, at Guedry Cemetery in Batson with the Rev. Bob Morgan officiating.
A native of Mexia, Texas, she had lived in Liberty for 54 years. She was a bookkeeper and a member of Hull Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Kaemmerling died at Liberty Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Perry Lee Kaemmerling.
Survivors include her sons, Russell Kaemmerling and wife, Charlene, of DeSoto, Texas, Paul Kaemmerling and wife, Laurie, of Harlingen, Texas and Charles Kaemmerling and wife, Becky, of Hull; daughter, Carolyn Bohler and husband, Larry, of Hardin; nine grandchildren and four grandchildren.
Morrison
Private services were held under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home of Dayton for Bette Joan Morrison, 86, of Hull.
She was born January 16, 1918 in Le Mars, Iowa to Luis Lemke and Margaret Clarke, growing up in Iowa. She later traveled all over the country with her first husband while he was in the military. She moved to Baytown in the 1950s where she worked as a bookkeeper. She married Robert Morrison in 1956 and lived in Baytown until his death in 1990.
She retired at the age of 72 from Hodges Overhead Door in Baytown after many years of service. Morrison moved to Hull in 1992 to be near family. Morrison was of the Episcopal faith and a lover of the outdoors including fishing, hunting and birding. Morrison was always at the center of her very large family.
She died Saturday, February 14 at Liberty-Dayton Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary M. Peebles and husband, Les, of Hull; son, Robert Smith and wife, Lorene, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; sisters, Peggy Werre of Seattle, Washington, Mary Ellen Nicholson of Lynd, Minnesota, and Lenice Timmons of Coulee City, Washington; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
