Leo Parker, 83, died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Grace Care Center in Lufkin.
He is survived by his wife Mae Ola Parker, Peggy Wooton (daughter of Livingston, Edward Parker and Lucy (son and daughter-in-law) of lake Worth, FL, April Parker (daughter) of Livingston, Bryan Wooton and Gina (grandson and wife) of Duncanville, Chad Wooton and Lacy (grandson and wife) of Waco, Tina Parker (granddaughter) of Dallas, Karrie Parker (granddaughter) of Orlando, FL, Caleb Parker Wooton (great grandson), Mary Evelyn McCollough (sister) of Beech Grove, Martha Gammille (sister) of Shelbyville, TN, Mayme Lane (sister) of Shelbyville, TN, May Dean Barber (sister) of Nashville, TN, Madge Cares (sister) of Murfreessboro.
He was preceded in death by his father Odie N. Parker, and his mother, Pearl Fultz, Garcier Parker (brother), Medford Parker (brother), Hidalgo Parker (brother), Marinda Rankin (sister).
He was born May 18, 1921 in Beech Grove, Tennessee the son of Odie and Pearl Fultz Parker.
Pallbearers were Randy Fults, Hanks Fults, Jim DuBose, Andrew Bass, Charlie Martin and Tim Quinn.
Visitation was held at Cochran Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 20 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Don Willis, Rev. Mary Shivers and Rev. James Frazier officiated. Burial followed at the Ford Chapel Cemetery in Newton.
Services were under the direction of Cochran Funeral Home of Livingston.
June Davis Maxey

June Davis Maxey, 82, of Woodville passed away on Friday, June 18, 2004 at University Place Nursing Center in Houston.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Woodville with burial in Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville. Officiating was Dr. Raymond A. Parker, Dr. Dwayne Freese and Reverend Richard Davis. Serving as pallbearers were Scotty Cormier, Jerry Springfield, Ricky Davis, Ron Parker, Ron Ledbetter, Kenny Simpson, Wade Skinner and Lyman Periman. Honorary pallbearer was George William Davis, Jr.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 20 from 5 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
June was born June 20, 1921 to George William and Clara Martin Davis in Sour Lake and had lived in Woodville for over 50 years. She was formerly employed as a dental assistant for C. M Davis, D. D. S. for 20 years and retired as secretary and administrative assistant for the Tyler County Judge. She was a charter member of the Business Professional Women Club and the "1991" BPW Woman of the Year". She was active with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Tyler County Hospital, and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She then worked in the nursery at First Baptist Church and was an election judge for the county for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Maxey and brother, Claude Davis. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janell and Scotty Cormier of Richmond; brothers and sister-in-law, George William Davis, Jr. of Tulsa, OK and Ivan and Maxine Davis of Williamsburg, VA; and eight nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 105 North Pecan, Woodville, TX. 75979.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
Marion Harvey Jarrell

Spurger-- Marion H. Jarrell, 75, passed away June 14, 2004 at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
He was born August 10, 1928 in Houston. He was retired ironworker for Local #125.
Cremation services by Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
He was survived by many good friends.

Nathaniel P. Carruth

Nathaniel P. Carruth, 94, of Woodville passed away June 16, 2004 at the Tyler County Hospital.
Born December 16, 1909 in Louisiana to Nathaniel P. and Marjorie Spence Carruth. He lived in Port Arthur before moving to Woodville 36 years ago. He was retired from Saybolt Oil Company as an inspector. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Woodville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Carruth and a grandson, Michael T. Gracie.
He is survived by his sons, Jerry Carruth and wife, Kathy of Woodville and Richard P. Carruth and wife, Bonnie of Houston; daughter, Beverly Gracie and husband, Mike of Houston; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with Dr. Dwayne Freese officiating. Masonic graveside rites by Magnolia Lodge #495 follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Woodville. Visitation was held Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were grandson and a family friend.
Services were entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
Elder O. Woodrow Wilson

Elder O. Woodrow Wilson, 87, of Warren passed away June 21, 2004 in Beaumont. He was a native of Arkansas and a long time resident and community leader in South East Texas. He was a minister at primitive Baptist Church in Warren.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his first wife Ardelle Ann Wilson; daughter, Rebecca Colleen Wilson; sons, James Woodrow Wilson, Woodrow Bruce Wilson and baby boy Wilson.
He is survived by his wife Opal Morvant Wilson of Warren; daughters Neda Eulane Wilson of Vidor and Patricia Ann Wilson of Dallas; granddaughter Venessa Nicole Wilson of Vidor; sister Dovie Frederick of Vidor; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23 at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Warren with a reception being held at Primitive Baptist Church afterwards. Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be C. J. Wilson, Donald Edward Wilson, Michael Clint Wilson, Howard Terry Wilson, Delbert Peet, and Keith Kemplay. Honorary pallbearers will be all the deacons and ministers of Area Primitive Baptist Churches.
Services are entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
Kathryn Elizabeth "Katie" Ruggles

Kathryn Elizabeth "Katie" Ruggles, 16, of Silsbee passed away June 20, 2004 at Texas Childrens' Hospital in Houston.
Katie, a sophomore at Silsbee High School, was a fun-loving friendly girl. She was involved in many activities at school including choir, softball, and golf. She was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she participated fully in the youth programs of the church. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by her parents Robert Aaron and Patty Ann Ruggles, and her brothers Paul and Matthew Ruggles, all of Silsbee. She also leaves behind numerous family members and friends who will remember her bright smile and optimism.
Visitation for Katie will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 23 at Farmer's Funeral Home in Silsbee. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 24 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Silsbee on the corner of FM 418 and Autumn Shadow.
Services are entrusted to Farmers Funeral Home of Silsbee.
Lorraine Williamson Burleson

Lorraine Williamson Burleson, 79, of Jasper, passed away August 9, 2004 at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin. A native of California, and former resident of Roganville, she has lived in Jasper for 42 years and was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #291, the Jasper County Republican Party, and the Retired Assn. of Federal Employees.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. at Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper with Rev. Royce Robb officiating.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Williamson in 1988.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Burleson of Jasper; son, Dr. Willie Williamson of Jasper; daughters, Jan Williamson of Humble and Julie Warren of Portland, Maine; sister, Muriel Simbro of Idaho; along with 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home of Jasper.

Willie Ann Diggles, 30, of Beaumont died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 14 at the Moss Hill Baptist Church in Woodville at 1:30 p.m. with burial at the Moss Hill Community Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Colemans Tyler County Funeral Home in Woodville. Visitation was held on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
She was a native of Woodville and lived in Beaumont for a few years. She worked in the medical field.
She leaves to cherish her memories; mother, Willie Mae Diggles of Beaumont; father, Lucky Diggles Sr. of Ft. Worth; sisters, Carla Mattox of Beaumont, Tammy Diggles of Ft. Worth, and Jackie Diggles of Ft. Worth; brothers, Lucky Diggles Jr. of Ft. Worth and Robert Diggles of Beaumont and a host of other relatives and friends.
Charles Adrian Bevil

Charles Adrian Bevil, 91, of Austin, formerly of Woodville, passed away Friday, August 13, 2004 at The Clairmont in Austin.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 16 at 11 a.m. in the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Woodville. Officiating was Dr. Raymond A Parker, Dr. Dwayne Freese, Dr. Gayle Burton, Marty Satterfield and Rob Satterfield. Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Walker, Bill Wise, Aubrey Hallum, Marty Satterfield, Rob Satterfield, Gregg Johnson, Lyman Periman and Jacques L. Blanchette. Honorary pallbearers were Irene Tucker, Dr. Paula Schultz, Joan Periman and Leeza Blanchette.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Aug. 15 from 5 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Brother Bevil was affectionately known by friends and loved ones as C. A., Adrian, Brother Bevil or Mr. Bevil. He was born December 21, 1912 to David and Anna Pearl O’Neal Bevil in Kirbyville. He was a retired minister and had served as a pioneer of Minister of Religious Education having served in nine churches including; North End Baptist in Beaumont, Trinity Baptist in Port Arthur and First Baptist in Bridge City, Silsbee and Woodville. After retirement, he served 20 years as president of the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Association Board, chaired the Tyler County Food Commodities Program and assisted in securing a federal grant for Tyler County through FEMA. He was also a former staff member with Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville from 1991 to 2000 before moving to Austin to be near his family. He continued working in the funeral industry with Cook-Walden Funeral Homes in Austin until January of 2004. He then oversaw the gift shop at The Clairmont, where he was a resident, until his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Helen Bevil on April 29, 1997. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Adrienne and Gayle Satterfield of Austin; brother, Aubrey Bevil of Bridge city, and grandchildren, Marty Satterfield, Rob and Kristi Satterfield and Paige and Gregg Johnson.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
Minnie Leona Fairchild

Minnie Leona Fairchild, 91, of Chester passed away August 10, 2004 at Dogwood Trails Manor Nursing Home.
Born February 10, 1913 in Kennard to Lon and Eva Money Hughes, she lived in Tyler County for many years. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Darrelton Richardson of Bridge City and Charlie Fairchild of Chester; daughter, Linda Martin of Beaumont; sisters, Mamie Watts of Sour Lake, Ethel Powell and Iva Barnes both of Chester; grandchildren, Russell Martin, Jennifer Martin, Darryl Richardson, Jana Richardson and Trina Fairchild Courtney; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mrs. Fairchild was held Friday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Norman Turner and Rev. Steve Hays officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Chester. Visitation was held Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers were Rayland Turner, Art Barnes, Lou Thompson, Larry Thompson, Willie Thompson and Rusty Hughes.
Services were entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
