Lawrence Leroy Barker, 87, of Warren passed away July 24, 2004 at the Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home.
Born July 30, 1916 in Furley, Kansas to Ralph and Lottie Benne Barker, he lived in Warren for 18 years. He was a retired ranch manager. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Erma Beatrice Hayes Barker on July 1, 2001.
He is survived by his family, daughter, Deanna Findley of Warren; son, Murlin Barker of Calistoga, CA.; grandchildren, Debbie Adams of Warren, Denis Wood of Belle Chasse, LA, Doug Findley of Dammam, Saudi Arabia and Alejandra Barker of Calistoga, CA; great grandchildren, Derek Adams, Aimee Tucker, Amanda Smith, Jackie Findley, Kenny Tingley, Jayce Findley, Zach Findley, Christina Wood, and Austin Wood; great, great grandchildren, Shey Adams, Jenny Smith, Madelynne Tucker, Isabella and Sydney.
Funeral services was held Monday, July 26 at 2 p.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W. K. Lewelling officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation was Monday at the funeral home.
Services were entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
Jim Laird

Jimmie W. Laird 72, passed away July 05, 2004, at Triumph Hospital North Houston, Houston, Texas. He was born September 14, 1931, in Honey Island, Texas, to Ben S. and Radie Moye Laird. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Maudena Laird and Rhonda Mae Mullins; three brothers: Ben Jr., Thomas D., and Harold, and nephew Curtis Mullins. Jim attended the University Of Houston, and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Houston Belt and Terminal Railroad after 40 years service. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann, of Conroe, Texas; sister Doris Henley, and husband Bill, of Houston; brother William S. Laird and wife, Betty, of Navasota, Texas. Three nephews and eight Nieces survive him as well as a host of friends and relatives. Jim was a member of the Houston Primitive Baptist Church. Upon retirement from the railroad in 1991, Jim became interested in family genealogy, and became very adept at restoring the old family pictures for friends and relatives. He was a member of the Montgomery County Genealogy and Historical Society, and contributed many hours to the Montgomery County Genealogy Library. Because many of his family are buried in Tyler County cemeteries. Jim and his wife canvassed all Tyler County cemeteries and published Tyler County Gravestone Inscriptions, which they placed in the Jack Whitmeyer Library at Heritage Village. In addition to this publication, they published other materials related to the history of Tyler County, including Tyler County Court Minutes, Books A and B, Tyler County Marriage Records 1864-1917, Tyler County Booster Obituaries 1997-2000. These publications, and others, are located in the Jack Whitmeyer Library as well as in the Sam Houston Regional Library and research Center in Liberty, Texas. Services were held at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas, Thursday, July 8 at 12:30 p.m. Elder Gerald read and Bro. Frank McMillan conducted the services. Burial followed in the Garden Park Cemetery near the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Montgomery County Genealogy Library, 104 I-45N, Conroe, Texas; Tyler County Historical Society, American Cancer Society, or to your local cemetery association.
David Allen Barnes

David Allen Barnes, 36 of Woodville, TX died Tuesday July 13,2004 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday July 17, 2004 at The Church of Christ Church in Hollis, OK with Brother Bob Garton officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis, OK. Services in Woodville, TX were under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Woodville, TX and services in Hollis are under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service, Hollis, OK.
David was born August 24, 1967 to Dick Allen and Awilda Ann Barnes at Hollis, OK. He married DeAnna Lynn Kelly on November 26, 1989 at the Texas State Line near Hollis, OK. David worked on an off shore-drilling rig as a computer technician. He graduated from Hollis High School. He was the very best of Fathers to his three children. His favorite pastimes were collecting antiques, classic cars, and doing paint and bodywork on cars. He attended the Dodson Church of Christ.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, DeAnna Lynn Barnes of Woodville, TX; three children, daughter Peyton Renee Barnes and two sons, Dallas Allen Barnes and David Isaac Barnes, all of the home; mother Awilda Ann Barnes of Hollis, OK; grandmothers Mary Moss and Lorene Barnes of Hollis; two sisters, Shura Ann Lindgren of St. Peters, MO (formerly of Midland, TX) and Leah Michelle Hamm of Anderson, TX; uncle Bobby and Aunt Raye Ann Barnes of Hollis; father-in-law and mother-in-law Lewis and Alice Kelly of Oklahoma City, OK.
David was preceded in death by his father, Dick Allen Barnes on August 19, 200; grandfathers, Isaac Paul Moss in 1995 and Harry Delbert Barnes in 1974; and aunt Sue Keen in 1995.
Lewis Eldon Rigsby

Lewis Eldon Rigsby, 78, of Woodville, died on July 19 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Born Sept. 3, 1925 in Banister, Tx, to Lewis and "Lottie" Lula Charlotte Harvey Rigsby, he lived in Beaumont before movin to Woodville 22 years ag. He was a retired supervisor with Texaco, Inc. with 35 years of service. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America as a scout master, District Commissioner. He earned a doctorate of commissioner science and was the Silver Beaver recipient. He was the founder and first president of the Ivanhoe Men's Club, Texaco Retirees and the Woodville Investment Club. He was an elder in Christian Church and Sunday School teacher and a member of the Woodville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gerladine White Rigsby of Woodville; songs, Michael L. Rigsby and wife, Dawn of Nacogdoches and Kyle E. Rigsby and wife, Julie, of Lumberton; daughter, Kathleen Rigsby Behrman and husband, C. Dera and Larry F. Rigsby of Midlothian; four grandsons and five granddaughters.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 21, at 10 a.m. at the Riley Funeral Home chapel in Woodville with Rev. Ray Reed officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Nat Cemetery in Nacogdoches. Visitation was held Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Services were entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
Thelma E. Duff

Thelma E. Duff, 84, of Warren went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2004 at the Tyler County Hospital.
Born November 12, 1919 in Hardin County, Texas to Louis and Lela Ganus McNeely, she lived in Tyler County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Warren, TX. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Duff and a daughter, Edna Jannise.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Betty Holmes of Lumberton, Lela Tolar of Nederland and Mary Duff of Woodville; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Funeral service was held Friday, July 16, 2004, at 10 a.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Alton Harwell officiating. Burial followed at Allison Cemetery in Warren, TX. Visitation was held Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers were Cary Tolar, Mitch Holmes, Billy Stephenson, Roy Arriola, Brent Brown, Joe Jones, Paul Jannise, and Mark Tolar.
Robert Lee Hinson

Robert Lee Hinson, 84, of Spurger, passed away Monday, July 19, 2004 at his daughter's residence in Colmesneil after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church in Woodville with burial in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 22nd from 5:00 - 9:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Robert was born October 28, 1919 to C.R. & Ada Byerly Hinson in Zavalla, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Spurger and was retired maintenance superintendent from ARCO. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Fred, Texas. He was a veteran of WWII, served in the Marine Corps and was wounded at Iwo Jima. He subsequently received the purple heart and carried the bullet he received on the beaches of Iwo Jima all his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Hinson. He is survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Fred & Rodna Hinson of Alvin, Randy & Terry Hinson of Mt. Belview, and Tim & Windy Hinson of Pasadena; daughter & son-in-law, Jackie & Wade Skinner of Colmesneil; brothers and sisters-in-law, R.Z. & Mary Hinson of Votaw, Joe & Retha Hinson of Silsbee; 15 grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Tommy Ray McCombs, 54, of Colmesneil, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at his residence.
Memorial services were held Thursday, July 1 at 2 p.m. in the Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville with complete military honors. Officiating was Brother Horace Fletcher.
Tommy was born June 28, 1950 to Carlos Ray and Betty Jane Nelson McCombs in Seminole. He was a mill operator for M. I. Drilling Fluids and was a U. S. Marine Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Carol McCombs of Colmesneil; sons, Tommy Allen McCombs and Eric Lusk both of Colmesneil; daughters and sons-in-law, Lola Dianne and Rocky Stenner, Tisha and David Pace, Tammy and Joe Edwards all of McAlester, OK and Teresa Gatling of Chicago, IL; live-in grandson, Chase Lusk of Colmesneil; mother and step-father, Betty and Tom Wooten of Odessa; grandmother, Agnes Nelson of Andrews; brother, James Wooten and Ronald Wooten of Odessa; sisters, Janice Wooten of Corpus Christi, LaVada Wooten of Red Oak, OK and Terry Black of Andrews; and ten grandchildren.

Eddie Jose Randazzle, Jr.

Eddie Jose Randazzle, Jr. 22, of Jasper, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2004 in Woodville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 10 at 11 a.m. at the Lone Star District Association Church on Hwy. 190 West in Jasper. Burial followed at Jasper City Cemetery in Jasper. Wake was held Friday, July 9 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Robinson Community Funeral Home in Jasper.
Eddie Randazzle, Jr. was born to Eddie Randazzle, Sr. and the late Cynthia Marie Bowie Teal on August 25, 1981. Eddie was educated in the Jasper Independent School District. Eddie was fun to hang around with and one of his hobbies was basketball.
He was preceded in death by his favorite aunt Lula Mae Bowie, his mother Cynthia Teal, and uncle Willie Earl Bowie, his grandmother, the late Josephine Lowe. He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Darius Randazzle and Tavioua Randazzle of Woodville; two brothers, Tyrone E. Teal (Ashley) and Dwight J. Teal (Freda) of Jasper; father, Eddie Randazzle, Sr. of Jasper; aunts, Jennifer Bowie of Jasper and Sheila Matthew of Oakland, Ca., Viola Moses and Evelean McNeil both of New Orleans, LA., Audrey Harris and Joe Ann Williams both of Houston; uncle, Terry Lowe of Houston; a very special girlfriend, LaQuinda Rigsby; and several special friends, Shaletha Middleton, Twonda Samuel, Kiara Hadnot and best friend, Brandon Hadnot and the rest of the DIP.

Funeral services for Audvie Cherry, 96, of Chester was held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2004 in the First Baptist Church of Corrigan with Pastor Larry Trest, Pastor John Spanhanks, and Pastor Robert McClellan officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Cherry was born May 31, 1908 in the Kiam Community of Polk County and passed away Friday, July 9 in Kirbyville. She was a housewife and a member of the Barnum First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph H. and Myra Matthews; husband, Horace Jackson Cherry on June 1, 1981; son, Preston Cherry on February 28, 1994 and daughter-in-law, Pat Cherry on August 8, 2002.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Aubrey Lee and JoZelle Cherry of Chester, Burbe and Betty Cherry of Kirbyville; daughter and son-in-law, Dener Mae and Glenn Foster of Mt. Belvieu; sister, Dee Dee Bryant of Vidor; 19 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 22 great, great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Glenn Foster, Jr. , Eddie Foster, Aubrey Lee Cherry, Jr. Dwight Cherry, Patrick Cherry, Joe Don Cherry, David Cherry and Paul Cherry.
Honorary pallbearers were Diane Manuel, Donna Flowers, Glenda Boodell, Delores Swearingen, Delene Ross, Tina Walker, Jane Daniel, Alice Withers, Mary Warden, Paula Fleck and Emily Smith.
Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 22 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel.

James Elmer Masters, 59, of Woodville, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2004 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 12 at 2 p.m. in the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Officiating was Brother Henry Simpson and Brother Bobby Cruse. Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Cruse, Jessie Wolf, Eddie Bump, Jimmy Reid, Ronnie Ford and John Kenner. Honorary pallbearer was Sgt. Terence Thomas.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 11 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
James was born June 8, 1945 to Elmer and Eveline Bolton Masters in Bellwood, LA. He was retired from the City of Woodville as superintendent of the Water Department. He had served in the Army Reserves.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ann Masters of Woodville; mother, Eveline Masters of Bellwood, LA; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Jimmy Reid, Sr. of Silsbee, Tracy and Eddie Bump of Spurger, Trisher and Ronnie Ford of Woodville and Tabatha Riley of Woodville; sisters, Elaine Simpson of Natchitoches, LA, Eva Jane Pascalin of Denham Spring, LA and Evon Hughes of Bossier City, LA; grandchildren, Jimmy Reid, Jr., Jasmine Reid, Christina Maturano, Cassy Strickland, Trey Ford, Shelby Ford and Alexander Riley.

June Purcell Fuesling

June Purcell Fuesling, 85, passed away July 9, 2004 at the Tyler County Hospital in Woodville.
Born in White Heath, Illinois on September 11, 1918, she and her family moved to Texas in the 1940's and lived in the Houston area. When her husband, Elvin "Al" Fuesling, retired from Armco Steel, she left her work as a Vocational Nurse to move to Town Bluff Estates. They loved to entertain family and friends, but she still found time for oil painting winning recognition for her work. Following the death of her husband in Feb. 6, 1994, she moved to Woodville.
She is survived by one son, Loren E. Fuesling of Houston; one daughter, Rita Roberts of Windsor, California; and eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren who will always remember her.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 13 at 10 a.m. at the Spurger United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Sitton officiating. Burial followed at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Visitation was held Monday from 5 - 9 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home.
