EULA M.B. ROBERTS
Funeral services for Eula Mae Beddingfield Roberts, 97, of Texarkana were held Wednesday April 26, 2000, at Hershel-Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas with the Rev. Ken Calhoun officiating. Interment followed at the White Rose Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts died Sunday, April 23. She was born to Walter Hugo and Molly Elizabeth Conway Beddingfield on Sept. 7, 1902, in Athens, Alabama. She was a homemaker and member of the Russell Memorial Methodist Church in Wills Point. She formerly lived in Ganado with her late husband of 56 years, William Aubie “Bob” Roberts.
She is survived by one son, Billy Randall Roberts of Texarkana; two sisters, Hattie Lee Beckenridge, Garland, Audrey Longacre, Mesquite; a granddaughter, Gayle Sharrock Roome of Lolita, and seven other grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Louise Roberts Dungan; her husband; her parents; four sisters, Marie Buford, Tula Landers, Betty “Fern” Stallings; and two brothers, Walter Beddingfield and Tom Beddingfield.
Memorial may be sent to Russell Memorial Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church of Ganado or to donor’s choice.
ALVIN FRANK KUBICEK
Funeral services for Alvin Frank Kubicek, 99, of Corpus Christi were held Friday, April 28, 2000, at 3 p.m., at Assumption Catholic Church of Ganado with the Rev. Jim Deaconson officiating. Burial followed at St. Procopius Catholic Cemetery in Louise under the direction of Ganado Funeral Home.
Mr. Kubicek died on April 25. Born Aug. 16, 1900, in Fayetteville, to Henry and Hermina Baca Kubicek, he was retired from a carpet sales and installation business. He was married to the late Cecilia Agnes Lesak Kubicek and was a Catholic.
Survivors include his daughter Patricia Cunningham; sons, Marvin and Alvin A. Kubicek; sisters Irene Smith, Julia Brag and Margaret Rybal; brothers Henry and Robert Kubicek; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife.
Pallbearers were Richard Lesak, Roy Lesak, Steven Lesak, Richard Cunningham, Robert Cunningham and Tony Kubicek.
RUTH JOE GRIFFIN
Graveside services for Ruth Joe Griffin, 72, of Edna were held Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston.
Born on June 3, 1927, she died April 25, 2000. She was a responsible, productive citizen becoming involved in her new community when she moved to Edna from Houston in 1990. She was a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission and then a member and chairperson of the Edna Housing Authority Commission. Ruth was an intelligent, dedicated, responsive member of these commissions attempting to make life better for all citizens.
Survivors include her sister, Joan G. Stallings of Edna; nieces, Pam Berry of Queensland, Australia, Grace B. Kelley, Janet Griffin and Holly G Fischer, all of California, and Karen G. O’Donnell of Raleigh, N.C.; and nephews, Edward Burnett, Jr. of Houston, Kurt Griffin, Clay Griffin and Joey Griffin of California; sister-in-law, Gigi Griffin of California; brother-in-law, Edward W. Burnett, Sr. of Houston; and life-long friend, Jimmie Green of Corsicana, Texas.
Ruth Joe was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister and brother-in-law Aubrey Stallings.

GLENN GREGUREK
Funeral services for Glenn Gregurek, 49, of League City were held Sunday, April 30, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado. Burial followed at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Ganado Funeral Home.
Mr. Gregurek died on April 28, 2000. Born on April 16, 1951 in Ganado to E.J. “Mike” and Lennie Bayer Gregurek, he was an account manager at Wilson Texas Mill Supply, a member of KJT and Moose Lodge, a Ganado High School football letterman, and a Catholic.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his daughter Nicole O’Neal, Bay City; sister Carolyn Lunsford, Spring Branch; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother Timmy Gregurek.
Pallbearers were Cowboy Bures, Ryan Konarik, Mike Konarik, Elliot Stancik, Ricky Schmidt, and Joe Chanek.
Honorary pallbearers were Shawn Rose, Raleigh Van Trease, Syl Hajovsky, and Greg Gregurek.
RONALD M. CHINN
Funeral services for Ronald McClellan Chinn, 53, of Edna were held Friday, April 28, 2000, at 12 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. G. L Roberts officiating. Burial followed at Sayles Cemetery under the direction of Cook-Butler Funeral Home of Edna.
Mr. Chinn died on April 26, 2000. Born on Sept. 15, 1946, in Edna to McClellan and Edith Chinn, he was a retired groundskeeper.
Survivors include his mother; Edith Chinn; sisters, Lynn Chinn, Edna, and Tammy Caesar, Round Rock; and brother, Michael Chinn, Austin.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Timothy Chinn.
Pallbearers were Wendell Chinn, Bruce Chinn, Brent Chinn, Lloyd Chinn, Harold Stafford, Bobby Miller, Everett Bryan, and A.B. Clay, Jr.
ROSA LEE MALITZ
Graveside services for Rosa Lee Malitz, 69, of Edna were held Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Rockdale with the Rev. Jody Gousset officiating.
Mrs. Malitz died Aug. 11. Born Feb. 15, 1931, in Rockdale to the late Troy and Emily Benes Roberts, she was a homemaker and member of the VFW Auxiliary for 45 years and was Past District President of the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include daughter, Jean McConathy, Edna; son, Jimmy M. Malitz, Houston; sister, Patricia Terpstra, Cameron; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents; and her husband, Louis J. Malitz on Aug. 1, 2000.
Honorary pallbearers were Amanda Malitz, Tim Pope, Bobby Terpstra, Brian Pratt, Chris McConathy, Troy Terpstra and Billy Terpstra.
Arrangements were by Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Memorials may be made to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Voice of Democracy Scholarship Fund.
JOYCE LOUISE TUCKER
Funeral services for Joyce Louise Tucker, 63, of Edna were held Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at Slavik Funeral Chapel with Robert Willis officiating. Interment followed at the Red Bluff Cemetery near Lolita under the direction of the funeral home.
Mrs. Tucker died Aug. 12. Born Feb. 5, 1937, in Ft. Cobb, Okla., to the late Jesse William Standifer and the late Wreba Pearl Threldkeld, she was a retired businesswoman who was self-employed at Tucker Trailer Park and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a member of Eagles Lodge Aires #4116 and served as Past Madam President, Past district President and was a member of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Jack D. Tucker, Edna; daughter, Lydia Pearl Summers, Angleton; son, Jack Benjamin Tucker, Jr., Edna; brother, Jesse W. Standifer Jr., Willis; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steve Bailey, Sonny Hadley, Bryon Flournoy, Malcom Calvender, Gene Rease and Jack Howard. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Sargent, David Powers and Shane Weber.

CLARA ELIZABETH BOLANDER
Funeral services for Clara Elizabeth Bolander, 91, of Houston, formerly of Victoria, are set for Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Colonial North Funeral Home on Hwy. 87, Victoria. The Rev. John R. Fisher Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Bolander died Aug. 14. Born Oct. 13, 1908, in Carter County, Okla., to the late Calvin and Maude Hudgeons Holman, she was a retired teacher and was listed in Who’s Who Of America’s Women.
Survivors include sons, Carl T. “Ted” Bolander Jr., Edna; and Noel E. Bolander, Houston; sisters, Allene Holman, Houston; and Glynna Piel, Boerne; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl T. Bolander Sr.; and daughter, Carleen B. Gammage.
