Ms. Looney
Dorothy L. Vaught Looney, 88, of Tulsita, died on Friday, May 12, 2006.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1917, in Craig, Colo., to Jennie Blake and Lafayette Walter Vaught. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulsita and worked as a sales clerk and retail sales.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Doris Lorene Lamb in 1988.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Louise Smith of Rockport, Elizabeth Joann Looney of Corpus Christi, Nina Lucille Haynes of Tulsita and Rebecca Lynn Dickerson of Fred; one sister, Violet L. Fields of Tulsita; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and funeral services were held on Monday at 10 a.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.

Mrs. Lopez
Natalia C. Lopez, 80, of Pettus, died on Monday, May 15, 2006 at her residence.
Mrs. Lopez was born on Nov. 24, 1925, in Beeville to Elvira Salinas and Diego Contreras. She was a housewife and a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Pablo Lopez Sr.
She is survived by two daughters, Severa (Victor) Arrisola of Rockport and Sylvia (Filomeno) Esparza of Beeville; four sons, Felix (Rosa) Lopez of Beeville, Lucas (Leonor) Reyes of Clute, Robert (Leonarda) Lopez of Rosenberg and Pablo Lopez Jr. of Brazoria; two sisters, Amelia Franco of Mathis and Rosa Lopez of Beeville; one brother, Eliazar Contreras of Beeville; 17 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Pettus. Burial will follow at Pettus Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Monseis Beltran, Robert Lopez Jr., Jose Esparza, Filomeno Esparza Jr., Lucas Reyes II and Elias Reyes.

Mrs. Rodriguez
Rosie Buenrostro Rodriguez, 62, of Beeville, died on Friday, May 12, 2006.
Mrs. Rodriguez was born on June 24, 1943, in Corpus Christi to Eva Estrada and Amalio Garcia Chavarria. She graduated from A.C. Jones High School and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She married Prajedes Rodriguez Jr. in Sinton on Nov. 7, 1966, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her parents, Amalio and Eva Chavarria of Beeville; her husband, Prajedes Rodriguez Jr. of Beeville; one daughter, Sandra Garza and husband Andy of Beeville; and two grandsons, Andy Garza Jr. and Prajedes Brandon Garza.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church in Beeville with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial took place at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were Andy Garza Jr., Prajedes Brandon Garza, David Orozco, Johnny Posada, Edolio Villarreal and Trino Ramon.

Dickinson
Mary Ann Dickinson, 70, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002.
She and her husband, Fred, both graduated from A.C. Jones High School in 1948 and 1949, respectively. She was born on Jan. 26, 1932, in Yorktown to Theodore and Bena Dlugosch.
She worked for the federal government for 18 years in various secretarial positions. For the last nine years she assisted the chaplain’s office at Northeast Methodist Hospital.
Mrs. Dickinson is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, CMSGT. Fred K. Dickinson, USAF (retired); a daughter, Marjorie Ann Rodriguez, and husband Rod; a son, Fred Dickinson Jr. and wife Teresa; and two grandchildren, Monica Lee and Matthew Scott Dickinson.
Visitation was held at Sunset Funeral Home in San Antonio on Thursday, Dec. 12. Graveside services were held on Friday, Dec. 13, in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled through Sunset Funeral Home, San Antonio.
Morgan
Curtis Ray Morgan, 57, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at the Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Mississippi due to complications following a stroke.
Mr. Morgan was a resident of the South Texas Children’s Home in his youth. He attended Pettus High School and was a member of the Eagle football team. Later on he joined the Marine Corps.
Mr. Morgan is survived by three sisters, Jane Edwards of Ocean Spring, Miss., Lois Morgan Struble of Pine Island, N.Y., and Martha Morgan Syneth of Beeville; four nieces, Rhonda Arkeson of North Carolina, Lisa Rackley of Biloxi, Miss., and Kelly Rodriguez and Steph Struble, both of Pine Island, N.Y.; a nephew, Daniel Syneth of Beeville; a special friend, Douglas Lilley of San Antonio; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
A memorial service is being planned for April 11 at South Texas Children’s Home.
Funeral arrangements were handled through Riemann Funeral Home, Gulfport, Miss.
Turner
Charles Augustus Turner, 65, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at his residence in Pampa.
Mr. Turner was born on Jan. 22, 1937, in Beeville. He moved to Parmer County in 1965 from San Antonio. He worked for the Friona Independent School District for 29 years. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a former director of the Friona ISD Special Education program.
Survivors include two daughters, Lucretia Hayes of Amarillo and Polly Rivera of Plano; a son, Richard Turner of Arlington; and a grandchild, Ashleigh Hayes of Amarillo.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at San Domingo Cemetery in Normanna.
Arrangements were handled through Blackwell Funeral Home, Friona.

Janet Taylor Bowman, 62, passed away on March 18, 2005 in Beeville, Texas.
She was born to J. Wilbur and Evie Taylor in Pasadena, Texas on December 18, 1942. In Janet's early childhood she lived in Corpus Christi and Beaumont, TX. The family moved to Beeville in 1956. She graduated from A.C. Jones High School in 1961 and also attended The University of Texas in Austin. On August 15, 1986 Janet married Steve Bowman. She was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, member of The Beeville Rosetta Club, Charter Member of Jr. Service League, Past President (1993-1994) of The Beeville Country Club Board of Directors, Beeville Country Club Tournament Committee, and a General Partner for Jennings Exploration Co.
She is survived by her husband Steve Bowman of Beeville; Two sons and daughters-in-law Steven and Robin Orchard of Corpus Christi, and Keith and Abi Orchard of Pflugerville, Texas; Parents Evie Dean and John Wilbur Taylor of Beeville; sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Richard Young of Beeville; and three grandchildren Taylor Dean Orchard, Meridith Irby Orchard, and Sydney Clare Orchard.
Active Pallbearers were Ellis McKinney, Pat McCoy, Joe Hancock, Sam Workman, Ken Wilson, Ford Patton, Paul Dirks, and Thom Aman.

Dobson
Nelda Jean “Jeanie” Osborn Dobson, 77, died Thursday, March 17, 2005.
A memorial service was held Monday at 3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Don Taylor officiating. Mrs. Dobson was cremated, and a committal service will take place at a later time.
Mrs. Dobson was born on Jan. 19, 1928, in Avon Township, Mich., to William and Mabel (Fox) Osborn. She married Eugene Dobson in Coldwater, Mich., on July 19, 1947. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a resident of Berclair. She had previously resided in Beeville.
Mrs. Dobson was a volunteer at the Goliad County Library, served two terms on the Faith Lutheran Church Council, and was a past member of the A.C. Jones High School Band Boosters. She had worked at Chase Field as a civil service employee in the commissary and the supply department. She had also worked as a bookkeeper for Ballard Drug Store. Mrs. Dobson enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, cooking, baking and spending time with her dogs and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, David Dobson, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Dobson of Berclair; her daughters, Denise Bushman and husband Clayton of Seguin and Dee-Ann Dobson of Beeville; her son, Danny Dobson and wife Patty of Beeville; a grandson, Shane Dobson of Beeville, a granddaughter, Ashley Dobson of Beeville and Las Cruces, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.

Elliott
Tommie Ray Elliott Sr. was born to Clarence E. (Bill) and Marie (McCain) Elliott May 8, 1925 in Milam County, Texas.
He was in the Navy for WWII and Korea stationed out of California where he worked on a horse ranch breaking horses on his off time.
After the service he had a farm for several years before going into the oilfield. There he spent most of his life; he worked his way up from floor hand to Company man. He spent several years as a Vacuum truck operator but went back to the oilfield.
When he retired he went to work as security guard at Bee County College for more than five years.
He loved to fish, hunt and garden.
His parents, a brother Billie Elliott, two sons Ray and Larry Elliott, a granddaughter Michelle Renee Elliott and a grandson Newton Davis Holton, Jr, precede him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruby Bradfute Elliott, one son Dayton (Phyllis) Elliott of Beckville, Texas, three daughters Paulette (Ronnie) Jones of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cynthia (George) Smith of Cedar Park, Texas, Sharlene (Monty) Jones of Odem, Texas. 24 grand children, many great grand children and one great-great grandson also survive him.
He is also survived by one sister Iona Hester of Beeville, Texas, three brothers Johnnie (Rose) Elliott of old San Patricio, Texas, Charlie Elliott of Dinero, Texas, and James (Marie) Elliott of Kingman, Arizona.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Visitation was Tuesday, March 22, 2005 from 5pm-8pm Angelus Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 2pm at the Church of Christ. Internment to follow at Glenwood Cemetery with his grandsons as pallbearers.
