Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Koenig, 71, of Edna are set for Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at Ganado Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Wes Rubac officiating. Interment will follow at Ganado Cemetery under the direction of Ganado Funeral Home.
Mrs. Koenig died Sept. 24. Born Nov. 30, 1929, in
Ganado to the late Don Boyd Brown and Lizzie Mason Brown, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughter, Belinda Otto, Channelview; son, Robert Beard, Ganado; sister, Evelyn Patterson, Pasadena; brother, Lloyd Brown, Brazoria; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Eugene Koenig; and brother, Boyd Brown.
SIBYL L. DEBORD ROGERS
Funeral services for Sibyl Loine DeBord Rogers, 76, of Edna were held Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at First Baptist Church of Edna with the Rev. Jim Gilbert and Worden McDonald officiating. Interment followed at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home of Edna.
Mrs. Rogers died Oct. 13. Born March 14, 1924, in Jackson County to the late Adron and Myrtle Viola Hobbs DeBord, she was a retired Chase Field (Beeville) engineer technician and member of First Baptist Church. She was also a life member of the V.F.W. Aux. Post #3497 of Ganado. She and Robert Reginald Rogers were married in Edna on Aug. 8, 1942. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1999.
Survivors include daughters, Wanda LaRue Brown, Alvin, and Sherry Ione Rogers, Edna; sister, Anita Dittrich, Edna; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband; and brothers, Maxie Ray DeBord and Jesse James Debord.
Pallbearers were Ed Knopp, Chad Chadbourne, Billy Chadbourne, Chuck Chadbourne, James DeBord and Wayne Page.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Edna.
HATTIE RAY
Funeral services for Hattie Ray, 85, of Fayetteville, Tx. were held Sunday, Oct. 7, 2000, at True Light Baptist Church in Austin with the Rev. J.R. Williams, pastor, officiating. Interment followed at Assumption Cemetery under the direction of King-Tears Mortuary, Inc.
Mrs. Ray died Oct. 1. Born Dec. 14, 1914, to the late Floyd and Mary Legans, she was a member of Sweet Home Methodist Church of Fayetteville where she served on the Usher Board. At the time of her illness, she was a cook at the Fayetteville Restaurant.
Survivors include daughter, Mattie Harrold, Austin; stepdaughter, Novella King, Industry; son, Henry King, Austin; stepsons, Justice Ray and Lonnie Ray, Jr., Industry; sisters, Laura King, Industry, and Elizabeth Batts, Fort Worth; brothers, Rev. Henry Legans, Belleville, and David Legans, Fort Worth; 51 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands, George Slater, Cage J. King and Lonnie Ray Sr.; 10 siblings; daughter, Precious Wysong; sons, Hayward Slater, Don King, Melvin King, Delano King; grandchildren, Carolyn Beth Wyson and Walter Renay Henry; and a great-grandson, Don King.
Pallbearers were Don Bell, Don King, Henry King, Clarence Gildon, Tonnie Garrett and Taylor Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were great-great-grandsons.

Funeral services for Albina Solansky Rab, 86, of Edna are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael O’Shaughnessy officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Edna under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home.
A rosary was recited Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Mrs. Rab died Nov. 5. Born March 7, 1914, in Schulenburg to the late John and Cecelia Dedek Solansky, she was a homemaker and member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She was a member of K.J.Z.T. since 1939. She and the late Johnnie Lewis Rab were married Nov. 22, 1938, at Weimar. He preceded her in death in 1986.
Survivors include daughters, Joan Baker, New Braunfels, and Margie Smith, Yorktown; son, Lonnie Rab, Edna; sister, Helen Hadash, Weimar; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband; two sisters; and a brother.
ANGELITA DELEON ROBLES
Funeral services for Angelita DeLeon Robles, 72, of Edna are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna with the Rev. Michael O’Shaughnessy officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Edna under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home.
Mrs. Robles died Nov. 6. Born July 26, 1928, in Jackson County to Elvira Carmona DeLeon of Edna and the late Stephen DeLeon, she was a homemaker and member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Edna. She and Paul Robles of Edna were married Sept. 20, 1961, in Edna.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Theresa D. Robles, Edna; sons, Paul D. Robles and William D. Robles, both of Edna, Daniel Robles, Austin, and Brady D. Robles, Houston; sister, Mary Villarreal, West Columbia; brothers, Pete DeLeon, Bremerton, Wash., Joe DeLeon, Houston, Steve DeLeon, Edna, and Amos DeLeon, Sweeny; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
MIGUEL CRUZ
Funeral services for Miguel Cruz, 41, of Edna were held Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Tracey’s M.J. Santellana Funeral Directors of Edna with the Rev. Michael O’Shaughnessy officiating. Interment followed at Edna Latin American Cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.
A rosary was recited Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Cruz died Oct. 29. Born Sept. 4, 1959, in San Antonio Corrales, Mexico, he was a forklift operator for W.W. Hunt Oilfield Contractors and a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Consuelo R. Cruz, Edna; daughters, Christina Castro, Monica Guerrero and Gabriella Castro, all of Edna, and Gloria Castro and Martha Castro, both of Dallas; sons, Gilbert Castro and Ray Castro, both of Edna, and Roy Castro of Lake Jackson; and mother, Enriqueta Aerola Cruz.
Pallbearers were Pedro Hernandez, Danny Guerrero, Juan Hernandez, Frank Samora and J.R. Robles. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren and employees of W.W. Hunt Oilfield Contractors.
DAVIS ALLEN HOFFMAN
Funeral services for Davis Allen Hoffman, 89, of Edna were held Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Slavik Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Conrad Archer officiating. Interment followed at Memory Gardens in Edna under the direction of the funeral home.
Mr. Hoffman died Nov. 22. Born Oct. 16, 1911, in Hope to the late Rudolph and Minnie Smith Hoffman, he was a self-employed ranch foreman and farmer.
Survivors include daughters, Sherlie Benzi, Greenville, and Linda Jo Stafford, Ganado; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Jewel Esther Hoffman on July 14, 1982; son, Bobbie R. Hoffman; sisters, Lottie Sturm, Mollie Tatum, Oralee Gibson and Dollie Hoffman; and brothers, Dewitt Hoffman, Jess Hoffman, Lewis Hoffman and Bonnie B. Hoffman.
Pallbearers were Hugo Sturm, Fritz Sturm, William Sturm, Max Sturm, Howard Gibson and Lewis Hoffman. Honorary pallbearers were Levi and Elverter Quinn and Daniel and Wilma Sless.
ELOISE LABAUVE
Funeral services for Eloise LaBauve, 88, of Beeville were held Nov. 19, 2000, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville with the Rev. Mac Robinson officiating. Interment followed at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville under the direction of the funeral home.
Mrs. LaBauve died Nov. 17. Born Oct. 21, 1912, in Beeville, to the late John and Hettie Elizabeth Caldwell Uzzell, she was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Beeville.
Survivors include a daughter, Margie Sue Agleton, Houston; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack LaBauve; parents; and three brothers.
Pallbearers were Doyle Christian, George Laster, Bill Brandau, August Smejkal, Wray Parnell and Rudy Fojtik. Honorary pallbearers were John Bell, Chester DeCoux, and Fred LaBauve.

ALVIN STANCIK
Funeral services for Alvin Stancik, 77, of Ganado were held Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at St. James Lutheran Church in Ganado with the Rev. Bruce Adamson officiating. Interment followed at Brune Cemetery near Shaw’s Bend.
Mr. Stancik died Nov. 25. Born Nov. 11, 1923, to the late Joseph L. and Emma Ahlgrim Stancik, he was an insurance agent for Franklin Life Insurance Company and is a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Ganado. He is a member of the American Legion Post #346, Ganado VFW Post #3497, a charter member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Church Council and the Ganado Volunteer Fire Department. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Justice of the Peace of Pct. 2 in Jackson County from 1971-75, he was also a Ganado Little League coach. He and Frances Helen Stancik of Ganado were married on March 22, 1946, in Warrenton.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Sharon Sue Poarch, LaVernia; sons, Wayne Morris Stancik, Vanderbilt, Elliott Earl Stancik, Ganado, Kevin Glenn Stancik, Port Lavaca, and Darren Jay Stancik, Edna; sisters, Lillie Poenitzsch, Columbus, and Onie Mae Horndt, Ellinger; brother, Melvin Stancik, Eagle Lake; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents; and brothers, Clinton Stancik, Le Roy Stancik and Arthur Stancik.
Pallbearers were Wade Watkins, Blake Stancik, Kurt Stancik, Corey Brooks, David Stancik and Leon Schobel. Honorary pallbearers were other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and hunting buddies from Buck Inn in Ezzell from the 1960’s.

ALVIN EUGENE WILSON
Funeral services for Alvin Eugene Wilson, 83, of Edna were held Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Robison Street Church of Christ with Mr. Boyd Jennings and Mr. Arden Lawrence officiating. Interment followed at Memory Gardens of Edna under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilson died Nov. 20. Born Nov. 4, 1917, in Jackson County to the late Aaron Elijah and Camilla Eason Wilson, he was a retired building superintendent for the Jackson County Courthouse and was a deacon of Robison Street Church of Christ, Edna. He and Nina Marjorie Singleton Wilson of Edna were married March 22, 1945, in Edna.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Zelda Kay Hurt and Brenda Jo Maresh, both of Edna, and Nancy Carol Banning, Inez; son, Steven Eugene Wilson, Edna; seven grandchidlren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Minnie Lee Nash, Lucille Shockley, Helan Hessong, Ella Mitchell, Rae McCoy and an infant sister, Annabelle Wilson; brothers, Wiley Wilson, Slim Wilson, Vaughn Wilson, Travis Wilson and Henry Wilson.
Pallbearers were Jerry Stacy, Paul Gerhard, John Mercer, Richard Mercer, Robert Volkmer and Darrell Robinson. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. James Fuller, Dr. William T. Campbell, Dr. Al Wittneben and his Christian family at Robison Street Church of Christ, Edna.
