Mrs. Richard
Sally “Sal” Haley Richard, 54, died Saturday, March 11, 2006. A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Galloway & Sons chapel in George West. The body was cremated.
Mrs. Richard was born May 5, 1951, in Three Rivers to Mildred Tate and Ray Lafayette Haley. She married Raphael C. Richard in Victoria on Dec. 31, 1976. They resided in George West. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anita Snider, in 2000.
She is survived by her husband, Raphael C. Richard of George West; three sons, Rocky Dan Angell of Edna, Rusty Angell of Floresville and Matthew Shane Richard of George West; three brothers, Robert Lowrie of George West, Dickie Lowrie of Arkansas and Billy Ray Haley of Gulfport, Miss; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and special friends, John and Leslie Walker of George West.

Mr. Velasquez
Pantaleon “P.J.” Velasquez Jr., 20, of Kenedy, formerly of Beeville, died Thursday, March 9, 2006.
Mr. Velasquez was born July 7, 1985, in Kingsville to Sylvia Juarez and Pantaleon Velasquez Sr. He was a member of the Gethsemane Full-Time Ministries and played the organ for the Praise and Worship Team. He had participated in several World Mission Tours.
Visitation was held Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home and a prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday at that location with Pastor George DeLosSantos presiding. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Drewry officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joshua DeLosSantos, Michael Perez, Joe Soliz, Mario Juarez, Leandro Juarez and James Daniel Henshall. Honorary pallbearers were Orlando Juarez and Matthew Hernandez.
Mr. Velasquez is survived by his mother, Sylvia Padilla and her husband Rene of Beeville; his father, Pantaleon Velasquez Sr. and his wife Maricela of Corpus Christi; his sister, Trina L. Velasquez of Beeville; three half-sisters, Velma Velasquez of Kingsville, Rosalinda Munoz of Houston and Gesselle Velasquez of Corpus Christi; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Saul Jaurez of Skidmore; and his great-grandmother, Trinidad Perez of Alfred.

Mr. Waterhouse
Richard Morris Waterhouse, 76, of Beeville, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, here. He was a retired tool and die maker with Richard & Trute Co. in Warren, Mich. Mr. Waterhouse was a Thirty-Second Degree Mason and a member of Lodge #385 in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was also a member and past president of the Lions Club of Algonac, Mich., the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a volunteer at both the St. Petersburg, Fla., American Legion Post 125 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Waterhouse was born Oct. 10, 1928, in Milo, Maine, to the late Thelma Henderson and Walter Israel Waterhouse. He married Mae Marsh on Nov. 9, 1947, in Howland, Maine and was married for 58 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Waterhouse of Beeville; one son, Richard B. Waterhouse and wife Elizabeth Ann of Corpus Christi; one daughter, Marie M. Martin of Beeville; one sister, Ruth Ann Waterhouse and one adopted sister, Edith LePelley, both of Ellsworth, Maine; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Colin Keith Martin; two brothers, Walter and George Waterhouse; and two sisters, Ava Winfield and Margaret Lovejoy.
Visitation was scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Chapel services was to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment was to follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Richard B. Waterhouse, Richard B. Waterhouse Jr., Colin Martin, Eugene “Red” Moore, Jim Harmon Jr. and Courtland Hill. Honorary pallbearers were James Harmon and Don Wilson.

Giebel
Elsie Hanus Giebel, 85, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Sinton Manor.
She was born on Feb. 24, 1921, to Mary Jurecek and Yacley Hanus in Beeville. She married Alvin Giebel on March 1, 1942, in Skidmore. She was retired from Cavitt’s Hardware as a sales clerk and she worked at Roger’s Jewelry Store in Sinton. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Sinton.
Mrs. Giebel was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Giebel, her parents, brothers, sisters and her daughter, Mary Green.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann Caddel and husband Dr. John Caddel of Stillwater, Okla.; one brother, Alton Hanus and wife Adel of Waco; granddaughter, Kristen Latham and husband Tracy of Stillwater, Okla.; grandson, Joseph Caddel, also of Stillwater; grandson, Chad Green and wife Suzanne of San Antonio; great-grandson, Jack Andrew Green; son-in-law, Arthur Green of Leonard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday at 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Gabby officiating, assisted by Pastor Intern Joanne Swehosky. Interment followed at San Patricio Memorial Gardens in Portland.
Pallbearers were Arthur Green, Tracy Latham, John Bremer, Robbie Wright, Joe Henry Hanus and Robert Hanus.

Fidela M. Meza, 89, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at her home.
She was born on April 24, 1916, in Cuero to Magdalena Guia and Juan Moncebias. She married Augustine Meza Sr. on Dec. 7, 1935, in Sinton. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Mrs. Meza was preceded in death by her husband, Augustine Meza Sr.; two sons, Jasper Meza and Roy Meza; two brothers, Edwardo and Ysidro Moncebias; two sisters, Oralia M. Gonzales and Constancia M. Dominguez.
Survivors include one son, Augustine (Elena) Meza of Beeville; five daughters, Marie (Paul) DiSenso of Loveland, Colo., Naomi Meza of Austin, Eunice (Joe) Calzada of Richmond, Linda (Dexter) Williams of Russia and Louanna (Gilbert) Tapia of Beeville; one brother, Juan Moncebias of Beeville; one sister, Josefina Salazar of Beeville; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Trevino Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers will be Jasper Meza Jr., Samuel Meza, Noah Meza, Dustin Meza, Michael DiSenso and Pete Meza. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul DiSenso Sr., Paul DiSenso II, Joe Calzada, Gilbert Tapia and Roy DiSenso.

James Howard Stark of Llano, 45, died Saturday, April 1, 2006. He was born Jan. 16, 1961, in Fort Worth to Dr. Tom Stark of Beeville and Ann Callahan (Kimbrough), also of Beeville. He was a graduate of A.C. Jones High School, attended Southwestern University, graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a business degree and graduated from Piedmont Tech College as a gunsmith. He was the owner and operator of Stark Gun Works in Mason.
Mr. Stark was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Thomas Stark, and grandparents, T.V. Stark and Nell Stark, Felix Callahan and Lotta Callahan.
Survivors include one daughter, Katelyn Elizabeth Stark of Longview; his parents, Dr. Tom Stark and Ann Kimbrough, both of Beeville; one brother, Dr. David Michael Stark and wife Ruth of Abilene; one nephew, Matthew Stark, and one niece, Jessica Stark, both of Abilene.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Beeville with the Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Interment will take place at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Justin McCord, Kenny Hatfield, Will Chesnut, Bryan Key, Tom Sloan and Hilton Hughes.

Mr. Guerra
Victor Guerra, 99, of Beeville, formerly of Aurora, Ill., died on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1907, in Mexico. He loved gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvesa H. Guerra in 2000; one son, Jesse Guerra; one grandson, Robert Guerra; two great-great-granddaughters, Alexis and Alyssa; his parents, Guadalupe and Marcelina (Briseno) Guerra; and numerous brothers and sisters.
He is survived by eight children, Guadalupe Guerra and Salomon (Karen) Guerra, Juan (Delia) Guerra, and Marcelina (Ruben) Munguia, all of Aurora, Ill., Julia DeLaCruz of Arizona; Avelina (Luis) Hernandez of Pennsylvania; Hermelinda (Gerardo) Flores, and Susie Guerra, both of Texas; 37 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Elisa Robles of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. at The Daleiden Mortuary in Aurora, Ill. Funeral services began at 9:30 a.m. Friday at The Daleiden Mortuary with a procession to St. Mary Church at 10 a.m. Father Timothy Piasecki officiated and interment followed at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, Ill.

Ruth Baker Alexander, 85, died on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, in Victoria.
She was born Feb. 2, 1922, in Paden, Okla., to Arthur Lee and Josephine Murphy Baker and lived in Runge for 61 years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the VFW Post 9189 Ladies Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, Runge Birthday Club and the Karnes County Bridge Clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patti Jo Wright; sister, Audrey Brown; and brother, Dewey Baker.
Survivors are her husband, Milton Alexander of Runge; one son, Bob Alexander of Kenedy; one sister, Greta McGuill of Kenedy; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Janssen Funeral Home in Yorktown. Funeral services were held there at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Revs. Heath Powers and Bill Davenport officiating. Burial followed in Runge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Milton Slaughter, Tom Perez, Larry Dement, Clint Mueck, Matt Wright, Jason Young, Ancel Maddox and Russell Osburn. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Brown, Keith Brown, Vic Barris, Richard Baker, Albert McGuill, Chip McGuill and members of the Karnes County Bridge Clubs.

Lina M. Guzman, 52, of Beeville, died on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, in a Corpus Christi hospital.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1954, in Beeville to Olivia Carrizales Martinez and Ismael Martinez Sr. She was employed at Bee Clean Laundry as a presser and was a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by one son, Israel Guzman.
Survivors include her husband, Ignacio “Chino” Guzman of Beeville; her mother, Olivia Carrizales Martinez of Corpus Christi; one daughter, Laura Rodriguez of Beeville; three sons, Benny (Janet) Martinez, Jesse Martinez and Ignacio (Lisa) Martinez Jr., all of Beeville; four sisters, Aurelia (Joe Luis) Torres of Florida, Eva (Oliver) Garcia of Beeville and Olivia (Juan) Barboza and Alicia Johnson, both of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Adan (Eli) Martinez and Ismael (Sylvia) Martinez Jr., both of Beeville; and 12 grandchildren.

Elizabeth Salazar Ibarra, 52, of Beeville died on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007.
She was born on Sept. 8, 1954, in Beeville to Sabas and Josephine Monsevais Salazar. In 1981, she married Ernest Ibarra Sr. in Beeville. She was a Presbyterian and a homemaker. She was office president for the Cementario Evangelico for three years.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors from Beeville include her husband, Ernest Ibarra Sr.; one son, Ernest Ibarra Jr.; two daughters, Laura Eliz Chapa and Felicidad Chapa; and one sister, Diana Salazar. Other survivors are two brothers, Sabas (Sammy) Salazar and Daniel Salazar, both of Victoria; and four grandchildren, Valente Garza, Laura Garza, Esai Chapa and Daemon Rodriguez.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Funeral services were held there today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. with Dr. David Marx officiating. Interment followed at Evangelico Cemetery.

Rene R. Martinez, 45, of Beeville, died on Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at a Corpus Christi hospital.
He was born April 19, 1961, in Beeville to Federico and Aurora Rincon Martinez. He was a Catholic and a laborer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Federico Martinez.
Survivors in Beeville include his mother, Aurora Martinez; one sister, Rachel Martinez (Daniel Campos) Gutierrez; one aunt, Consuelo Suniga; and two uncles, Jose and Felipe Martinez. Other survivors are his uncle, Joe Rincon of Houston; two nephews, John “Zapo” (Myra Montez) Gutierrez Jr. of Beeville and Jason F. (Jennifer Garcia) Gutierrez of New Braunfels; and one niece, Haley Nicole Gutierrez.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Interment followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

Mr. Miller
Urcel “U.D.” Miller, 82, of Beeville died on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007.
He was born on June 14, 1924, in Macy, Ind., to Florence Clemans and Cecil H. Miller. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, aboard the USS Lexington. On Jan. 6, 1946, he married Joanna Burtis in Chicago, Ill. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Beeville. He had worked as an air traffic controller at NAS Chase Field and at Beeville Municipal Airport as a fixed base operator.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna B. Miller of Beeville; two sons, Stephen B. Miller and wife Judy of Beeville and Greg A. Miller of Lakewood, Colo.; and one grandson, Michael G. Miller of San Antonio.
Graveside services will be held at 2:15 p.m. Monday at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with Pastor Bill Duke officiating.
