Schlotterbeck
Robert Wilson Schlotterbeck, 52, died Monday, March 17, 2003.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Mr. Schlotterbeck was born on Feb. 15, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Wilmer Kuns and Elaine (Norton) Schlotterbeck. He resided in Beeville and was self-employed in the oil and gas industry. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Elaine Schlotterbeck of Beeville; and two sons, David Joseph and Robert Wilson Schlotterbeck, both of Bedford.

Slay
Malcolm Godfrey Slay, 88, died Monday, March 17, 2003, in San Antonio.
Visitation will be held Thursday at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The family will be present from 6 to 7:30 that evening. Funeral services will take place Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Talk officiating. Special music will include “Old Rugged Cross” and “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” featuring organist Mary Ellen Thoms and singer Doug Burton, and “Alleluia” by the Inn at Los Patios Choir. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Steven McCauley, Bryan Satterfield, Grady Carlson, Aaron Games, Jerry Anz and Norman Jostes.
Mr. Slay was born on June 7, 1914, in Barclay to James A. and Ruth (Gresham) Slay. He married Frances Prine on April 22, 1939, in Granbury. He resided in Beeville for 53 years before moving to San Antonio in September 2001.
He was active in the First United Methodist Church, having served as chairman of the board, Sunday school teacher and lay leader. He also served in civic organizations, including the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, the Masonic Lodge and the Beeville City Council. He served as president of the Kiwanis Club and was a former mayor of Beeville.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Frances P. Slay, his parents and 10 brothers.
Survivors include his brother, Raymond Slay; two daughters, Marilyn “Kay” McCauley and Cindy Slay Young and husband Jay; a son, Mike Slay and wife Madeline, all of San Antonio; a grandson, Steven McCauley and wife Beth of Sachse; three granddaughters, Beth Satterfield and husband Bryan of Lewisville, Christi Carlson and husband Grady of San Antonio and Tiffani Games and husband Aaron of Cedar Park; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Kate Satterfield and Mason William Games.

Garcia
Alejandro G. Garcia, 71, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, in Beeville.
Visitation was held Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Harvest Time Christian Center in George West. A prayer service was held there Sunday at 7 p.m. and the funeral service was Monday at 10 a.m. at the same location with the Rev. Armando Ramos officiating. Burial followed in the George West Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Juan Ruiz, Sonny Pena, Ray Garcia, Ricardo Sanchez, Jesse Perez and Michael Villarreal.
Mr. Garcia was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Live Oak County to Andrea Gutierrez and Pedro Garcia. He had resided in George West, was employed by the City of George West and was a member of Harvest Time Christian Center and Amistad Adult Day Care Center there.
He was preceded in death by Andres Garcia, Alberto Garcia, Adan Garcia and Josepha Ruiz.
Mr. Garcia is survived by his children, Daniel Garcia and Ruben Garcia, both of San Antonio; six sisters, Carmen Garcia and Maria Amador of George West, Amelia Sandoval and Olivia Sanchez of Mathis, Ortencia Garcia of Uvalde and Paula Martinez of Kingsville; two brothers, Porfirio “Pilo” Garcia and Francisco “Pancho” Gonzales of George West; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Carolina Menchaca Pardo died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in a Corpus Christi hospital.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Burial will follow at OLV Cemetery No. 2.
Mrs. Pardo was born July 8, 1919, in Artesia to Maria Bosque and Tomas Menchaca. She had resided in Beeville and was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Victory Church.
She is survived by four sons, Juan Arturo Mechaca and wife Susie of San Benito, Ignacio Vargas and wife Mary of San Antonio, Pedro M. Vargas of Austin and Jose Luis Vargas and wife Kathy of Staatsburg, N.Y.; three daughters, Sylvia Benavides and husband Pete of Dallas, Maria Diana Vargas of Huntington, W.Va., and Carolina Gainous and husband Leo of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Eudelia Delgado of Encinal; 32 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Elvira Barrera, 92, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, in Refugio.
She was born in Mission on June 16, 1912, to Eudelio and Lina (Espinoza) Vasquez. She was a housekeeper and a member of the Catholic church.
Rosary was recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers were Christobal Barrera III, Bobby, Steven and Joseph Barrera, Danny Perez and Jesse Delgado.
Survivors include her daughters, Eustolia Guzman of Arizona, Maria Elena Perez, Beatrice Gonzales, Guadalupe Barrera, Maria Jimenez and Lucia Gomez, all of Beeville; her sons, Juan Reyes of Louisiana, Israel Reyes of Corpus Christi, Joe Rocha of Refugio and Chris Barrera of Beeville; a sister, Adelita Hernandez of Beeville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Bohac
Edna L. Hanus Bohac, 98, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005.
Visitation was held Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Bevly officiating. Burial followed in Skidmore’s Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael, Lloyd, Ricky, Gary, J.J. and Jason Bohac and Danny Lamprecht.
Mrs. Bohac was born in Schulenberg on Aug. 9, 1906, to Emerich and Ludmila (Sumbera) Hanus. She married August Bohac on Oct. 26, 1926, in Beeville. She resided in Skidmore and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died on Aug. 24, 1961, as well as her parents, her brothers, Charlie, Jerry and Emil, and a sister, Annie Motal.
Survivors include her sons, Allen Lloyd Bohac and wife Nell of Skidmore, Eugene Ray Bohac and wife Judy of Livingston and Dennis Lee Bohac and wife Gladys of Katy; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, George and Allen Hanus of Olmos community; and a sister, Lydia Lesikar of Victoria.

Ortiz
Lorenzo M. Ortiz Sr., 84, of Beeville died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005.
He was born in Live Oak County on Nov. 13, 1920, to Felix and Felipa (Martinez) Ortiz. He married Manuela Ybañez on Feb. 5, 1953, in Three Rivers.
Mr. Ortiz was a retired foreman for Shoreline Lease Gas Production. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Beeville and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers.
Mr. Ortiz was preceded in death by his wife, Manuela; his parents; three brothers, Pedro, Jesus and Felix Jr.; and a sister, Maria Isabel Ortiz.
Survivors include four sons, Lorenzo Ortiz Jr., Rogelio Ortiz and Arturo (Anna) Ortiz, all of Beeville, and Faustino (Carlota) Ortiz of Three Rivers; two daughters, Marisa Luisa Ortiz and Azalea Lucinda Ortiz, both of Beeville; two brothers, Pablo (Etelina) Ortiz of Corpus Christi and Apolinar (Maria) Ortiz of New Braunfels; two sisters, Clementina Ortiz of Beeville and Barbara Smithwick of San Antonio; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Father Piotr Gajda officiating. Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery.

Services are pending at Angelus Funeral Home for Viola M. Tucker, 83, who died Tuesday about 1 p.m.
Stewart
Robert L. “Dick” Stewart, 79, of Buena Park, Calif., died Jan. 19, 2005. A military funeral was held on Jan. 24.
Mr. Stewart was born in Kerrville on April 19, 1925. He grew up in the Beeville area and attended public schools here until he joined the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by a son, John R. Stewart, his parents, Preston and Hattie B. (Ray) Stewart, his brothers, E. Preston Stewart and Tommy R. Stewart, and his sisters, Josephine Haynes, E. Ruth Mims and Joyce E. Moody.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Culp Stewart; three daughters, Charlene D. Medders of Oklahoma and Vivian L. Van Haga and Shirley L. Schofield of California; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, James R. Stewart of Whitehouse and John A. Stewart of Beeville; and two sisters, Irene Ross of Beeville and S. Jane De Moss of Mesa, Ariz.

Eusebia R. Campos, 83, of Beeville died on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1923, in Three Rivers to Catarina and Francisco Rendon. She was a Catholic and a housewife.
Mrs. Campos was preceded in death by her husband, Leonardo Campos, on Oct. 12, 1997; her parents; one daughter, Celia Parras; and two sons, Epimenio Campos Sr. and Manuel Campos.
She is survived by three daughters, Rosie (Lupe) Cano of Victoria, Juanita (Febronio) Hernandez, and Lydia (John) Posada, both of Beeville; one son, Leonardo (Dalia) Campos Jr. of Beeville; one sister, Antonia (Erasmo) Campos of Pawnee; two daughters-in-law, Juanita and Mary Campos both of Beeville; one son-in-law, David Parras of Dallas; 39 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Donohoe officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

Miss Cantu
Clarissa Marie Cantu, 18, of Beeville died on Saturday, July 29, 2006.
She was born on Nov. 7, 1987, in Goliad to Lisa Longoria and Richard Cantu. She was a 2005 graduate of A.C. Jones High School. Miss Cantu was a correctional officer at the Connally Unit in Kenedy. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include her boyfriend, Marcos Keller; one son, Austin Ray Keller; her mother, Lisa Cantu; her father, Richard Cantu; one brother, Richard Ryan Cantu; one sister, Laura Michelle Cantu, all of Beeville; maternal grandparents, Hermina Longoria of Austin and Daniel Longoria of Quito, Ecuador; paternal grandparents, Monico and Lupita Cantu of Beeville; three uncles, Bobby Cantu and wife Valerie of Beeville; Michael Ruiz and wife Lisa of Three Rivers, and Roland Cantu and wife Stella of Beeville; three aunts, Dani Torano and husband Michael of Arizona, Suzanne Ortiz and husband Joel, and Teresa Brown, both of Austin; many cousins and many friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Music was provided by singer Fernando Cisneros. Interment followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
