Longtime resident Marjorie Janice Phelps, 84, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2005. Born August 13, 1920 to C.S. and Vivian Hines. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Homer Hines.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 14, 2005 in the Andrews Old Cemetery with Rev. Rick Doyle, Pastor of Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews, officiating.
Marjorie moved to Andrews in 1955 with husband, Horace and son, Lewis. While in Andrews, she worked for Gist Well Service as a dispatcher, volunteered her time with the Band Booster Club, Pink Ladies Auxillary, and the Mothers of Vietnam Servicemen. She was an artist choosing to work for many years in the medium of oil painting before turning to china painting. She was a longtime member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Horace Phelps; son: Lewis Phelps; sister: Joy Lindsey and husband Gilbert and sister in law: Billie Hines.

Belsora V. Carrasco, 91, of Andrews passed away Friday August 12, 2005 at her home in Andrews.
A Prayer Service will be held Sunday August 14, 2005 at 5:00 PM at the Apostolic Worship Center.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday at the Apostolic Worship Center in Andrews. Phil Maroquin, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carrasco was born Belsora Valenzuela, December 12, 1913 in Shafter, Texas. She married Jose Manuel Carrasco in 1928 in Mexico. He passed away in 1995.
They moved to Andrews in 1982 from Pecos. She was a Homemaker and member of the Apostolic Church in Andrews.
Belsora was a very strong Christian woman, and she enjoyed gardening and farming.
She was also preceded in death by; her brother Felipe Valenzuela and a Sister, Beatris Bonilla.
She is Survived by: Two Sons-Osbaldo Carrasco and Martin Carrasco both of Andrews. Two Brothers-Ricardo Valenzuela of California and Pedro Valenzuela of Mexico; Five Sisters- Juanita Carrasco of Houston; Rosa Hernandez of Odessa; Angelita Hernandez of Andrews; Magdalena Gomez of New Mexico and Consuelo Hernandez of Midland; and 15 Grandchildren , 39 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Graveside services for Billy Nichols, 75, of Seminole will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, August 15, 2005 at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Big Spring.
He passed away on Thusday, August 11, 2005 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews
He was born on February 11. 1930 in Big Spring to Oliver and Aline Burns Nichols. He farmed cotton all of his life. He was raised in Big Spring and moved to Seminole in 1965. He enjoyed farming, trying to make his dogs mind him, and enjoyed all of the family gatherings.
Billy is survived by: 4 Brothers: Oliver "Buddy" Nichols, Jr., Dick Nichols, and Lonnie Nichols, all of Big Spring, and Jerry Nichols of Seminole; 1 Sister: Charlotte Jackson of Andrews.

H.A. "Sonny" Moore, 76, of Midland passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 12, 2005 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Bob Tremaine of Arlington will officiate.
Graveside Services will be 1:00 PM Central Time, August 12, 2005 in the Jal Cemetery in Jal, New Mexico.
Sonny was born November 21, 1928 in Olney, Texas. He spent many years in Kermit. He served in the US Navy in the Korean War. He married Billie Marie Mitchell in Hobbs, New Mexico, January 13, 1975. They moved to Midland in 1981 from Jal, NM. He worked as an oil field salesman and in managment and in Kermit where he owned Kipco Inc. He loved his family. He enjoyed fishing, photography, and computers.
He is survived by: his wife-Billie Moore of Midland; Sons: Carrol Moore and Greg Moore of Andrews; Russell Moore of Odessa; Joe Mitchell of Hobbs; Ricky Mitchell and Buster Mitchell of Jal; Daughter: Sharon Scarcy of Hobbs; Sisters: Gae Noles of Abilene; Gloria Scott of Dripping Springs, Texas and JoAnn Stroud of Mesquite; 14 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren.

Memorial services for James D. "Jimmy" Pipkin, 59 of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2005 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Ted Short, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiating.. Cremation was under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Jimmy died at his residence in Andrews on Wednesday, August 10, 2005.
He was born on May 7, 1946 in Newman, California. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1964 and attended Odessa College. He was a self-employed insurance agent.
Survivors include: daughters: Kelsea Jo Pipkin, Crosby, Texas and Dawn Meider, Houston, Texas; mother: Doris Pipkin of Andrews; sisters: Sandy Brown, Andrews, Texas, Denise Pipkin, Boerne, Texas and Dianne DeShazo, Bandera, Texas.

C.E. "Eddie" Fowler, 63, of Andrews died Monday August 8, 2005 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
Memorial Services are 1:00 PM Friday, at the Andrews Church of God. Jeff Welter of Gardendale will officiate.
Eddie was born June 18, 1942 in Andrews, Texas and has been a life long Andrews resident. He servded in the US Navy from 1959 to 1961. He worked as Grounds Keeper of the Andrews County Court House for many years.
He loved music and enjoyed hunting when he was young, with his brothers and grandfather.
He is survived by; Two Sons-Eddie Fowler, Jr of Andrews; Joe Fowler of Andrews; Daughter- Malissa K. Fowler of Corpus Christi, Texas; His Mother- Margie Reed of Andrews; Bothers- David Fowler of Andrews and James Reed of Santa Anna, Texas; Sisters-Julia Rich of San Angelo; Jane Grace of Andrews and Jakie Ann Cowling of South Dakota; and Eight Grandchildren and one Great-granschild.

Services for L.C. Abbott, 78 of Odessa will be 10:00 AM Graveside, Wednesday August 10, 2005 in Andrews North Cemetery. The Odessa V.F.W. Post # 4372 will conduct military services.
L.C. passed away Sunday, August 7, 2005 in Andrews. He was born on December 30, 1926 in Truscott, Texas to Henry and Zora Abbott . He taught and coached for 36 years in Mertzon and Ector County Independent School District. He loved to golf, fish and be with his grandchildren and family. He was in the Navy aviation division in W.W. II.
Survivors include, wife of 56 years, Jean, Odessa; son Bruce, Odessa, daughter Carole Watts and husband Dusty of Lubbock, grandchildren Taylor Abbott and Seth Watts, sisters Peggy Jackson, San Angelo and Maxine Butler and her husband Norman, Conroe. A sister Brenda Abbott preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Edmund Lee Rich, 46, of Odessa will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 8, 2005 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. David Carlson, Pastor of Andrews Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
He died Friday, August 5, 2005 at his residence in Odessa.
He was born June 9, 1959 in Andrews to Joe Clifton Rich and Vera Jean Orndorff Rich. He attended Andrews High School and moved to Odessa in 1993. He married Sonia Ann Adams on December 21, 1999 in Odessa. He worked as a courier, nurses aide, and in maintenance for Seabury Nursing Center in Odessa. He was a member of the Andrews Church of God.
He is survived by his wife: Sonia Rich of Odessa; parents: Joe C. and Vera Rich of Odessa; 2 sisters: Donna Gregory and husband Donald of Odessa and Vickie Rich of Odessa; and nephew: Jessie Rich of Odessa.

Graveside services for Virgie O. Forlines, 95, of Odessa will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2005 in the Andrews West Cemetery in Andrews with John Snider of Greenwood Church of Christ officiating.
She died Thursday, August 4, 2005 at Avalon Place in Odessa.
She was born October 6, 1909 in Kiefer, Oklahoma to Howard Harvey Hines and Hazel Dale Rutter Hines. She married James Henry Forlines on April 26, 1931 in Chandler, Oklahoma. They moved to Andrews in 1957 from Denver City. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1989. She moved to Odessa in 2004. Earlier in her life, she had been a member of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and a member of the Andrews Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister: Beatrice Hines.
She is survived by her daughter: Carol Fore and husband Howard of Gardendale; 2 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.

Joan Hammack, 54, of Andrews passed away Sunday, July 31, 2005 at herhome in Andrews.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the First Assembly of God Church in Andrews. Rev. Mark Bristow, Pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Monahans will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery.
Joan was born April 15, 1951 in Dekalb, Texas. She moved to Andrews with her family when she was just 3 years old. She married Glenn Hammack, November 2, 1968 in Andrews. She was a clerk for Key Energy in Andrews for many years and loved her job there. She helped her husband pastor the House of Mercy Church in Andrews and Day Spring Assembly of God in Odessa. She loved being with her Kids and Grandsons. She also loved to play the piano and sing in church. She was preceded in death by, her father, Chester Compton, and brothers David and Ronald Compton.
She is survived by: Her Husband-Glenn Hammack of Andrews; One Daughter- Amy Hammack of Odessa; One Son-Eric and his wife Jessica Hammack of Andrews; Her Mother-Nadine and Step-Father, Alfred Campbell of Andrews; and Sister Barbara Harris of Andrews; and Three Grandsons-Jair M., Jachin B. and Jase T. Hammack all of Andrews.

Funeral services for Franklin "Frankie" Henry Swindle, 40, of Andrews will be 10:00 AM Thursday, August 4, 2005 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Bryan Johnson, Home Hospice Chaplain of Andrews and Rev. Harlen Harris, Uncle, of Clanton, Alabama officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
He died Sunday, July 31, 2005 at his residence in Andrews.
He was born January 6, 1965 in Richmond, Texas to Franklin Delano Swindle and Gladys Feen Swindle. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1983 and from the Odessa Police Acadamey. He had also worked at George Brothers Fabrication and J & J Steel in Odessa. He received his LVN license in 1992 and had worked as a traveling LVN at prisons and Midland Memorial Hospital. He married Tracye Lynne Peek on July 6, 2005 in Andrews. He liked to fish, play golf, and ride motorcycles. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father: Franklin D. Swindle on September 26, 2001.
He is survived by his wife: Tracye Swindle of Andrews; son: Jarod Swindle of Andrews; 2 stepdaughters: Stassi Fuller of Andrews and Heather Fuller of Brownwood; mother: Gladys Porter and husband Johnny of Andrews; 3 sisters: Frances Steward and husband Junior of Andrews, Bonnie Cummins and husband Craig of Andrews, and Kathy Snell and husband Billy of Andrews; and niece: Kay Moore of Andrews.
The family would like to thank Carolyn Whiddon and Home Hospice in Andrews for their special care of Frankie.
