Glenda Gail Wall, 64, of Freeport went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in July 12, 1943.
Gail was an area resident for 40 years. She was a loving and compassionate woman with interests in making ceramics, crocheting, bowling and working crossword puzzles. Most of all, her true enjoyment came from being outdoors camping, crabbing and traveling.
She is survived by the love of her life of 43 years, Bill Wall; five children, Roxanne Trexler and husband, Paul, Toni Barrrera, Tim Willoughby and wife, Nancy, Billy Wall Jr. and wife, Lora, and Bobby Wall and wife, Calley; four stepchildren, Robin, Linda, Pam and Mike; 24 grandchildren; one great-grandson; siblings, Ronnie Miller and wife, Debbie, Marty Miller and wife, Joy, Sharon Wilson and Kara McDonald and husband, Sammy; and many other loving relatives and friends. She was considered a friend by many and will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen (Lucy Miller); stepfather, James Miller; father, Richard Wood; and granddaughter, Amber Barrera.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the Family Life Church in Lake Jackson with Pastor Craig Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Restwood Memorial Park.
Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at Stroud Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jason and Justin Willoughby, Jimmy Cady, Paul Trexler, Troy McIntire and Robert Byrd.

Margaret Rose Hoelewyn
Margaret Rose Hoelewyn passed away at her home in Damon on June 29, 2008, following a 26-month battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.
Margaret was born August 5, 1948, in Crowley, Louisiana. In 1953, her family relocated to Richmond, Texas, then to Needville, Texas, in 1955.
Margaret’s heart for helping others led her to a career in nursing. She worked in industrial settings, hospitals, nursing homes and dental offices, and also volunteered with the Central EMS for many years.
Margaret cared deeply for the children of her community. She served as leader of the Damon 4-H, coach for the Damon Little League softball team and helped both the children and staff of Damon Elementary School as room mother, volunteer and PTA member. She was inducted as a life member of the PTA in 1980 and served three terms as president of the Damon PTA. In 2005, she left retirement to serve as a teacher’s aide and caregiver at Damon Elementary. As a caregiver and mentor, Margaret positively impacted hundreds of children throughout her life.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 39 years, Kenneth; son, Thomas and wife, Leah Hoelewyn, of Damon; daughter, Janet and husband, Forrest Roberts, of Indianapolis, Indiana; granddaughters, Emily Hoelewyn, and Kylie, Kinley and Kalleigh Roberts; father, A.J. “Jimmy” Dorr Sr. of Needville; sister, Linda and Kenneth Robison of Franklin, TX; brother, A.J. Dorr Jr. of Needville; brother, Arthur John and Sandra Dorr of Needville; numerous nieces; a nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Teresa Dorr.
Visitation will be Monday, June 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be recited 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Damon. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery in West Columbia, TX.

Lucille Corgey
Lucille Corgey, 87, of Angleton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 27, 2008. She was born June 11, 1921, in Humble, Texas, to S.P. and Flora Charley.
Lucille was a member of the Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church of Angleton. She was considered a friend by many. Her interests included swimming, golf, painting and her Bible study class. Her laughter never will be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, B.L.; and her nephew, Larry Traylor.
She is survived by her sisters, Helen Aden and Flora Traylor, both of Conroe, and Dorothy Cornett of Blessing. Although Lucille and B.L. were not blessed with children of their own, she considered her nephews Douglas, Jack and Robert Cornett, all of Blessing, and Richard Traylor of New Waverly; and niece, Denise Traylor of Houston, as her own; her pet and constant companion, Tiny; and other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at Stroud Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Angleton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the funeral home.
A reception will follow the funeral services at First United Methodist Church in Angleton.
