ANGELINE "ANGIE" TENGLER
Funeral Mass for Angeline “Angie” Tengler, 76, of Angleton, Texas, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2004, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton, Texas, with celebrants Father Roy Oggerro and Father Gerry Dillon.
Burial will follow in Angleton Cemetery.
A Rosary will be recited at the church at 6:30 p.m. and visitation will also be held at the church from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2004.
Pallbearers will be Robert “Bobby” Tengler, Steven Vaughan, Larry Boyd, Daniel O’Driscoll, Mat Vaughan and Keary Barnes.
Angie was born to Henry and Josephine Adamek Hollas in Hallettsville, Texas, on November 3, 1927. She grew up in Ammannsville, Texas, graduated from La Grange High School in 1945 and graduated from Santa Rosa School of Nursing, San Antonio, in 1949. On January 31, 1951, she became the bride of Jerry Tengler in Schulenburg, Texas, and the couple came to Angleton later that year.
Angie died on Tuesday, January 27, 2004, after a long illness with Alzheimer’s.
Angie started her career as a registered nurse at Weiman Hospital in Weiman, Texas, after graduating nursing school. When she came to Angleton, she worked under Dr. Miller in Freeport at the old Dow Hospital. Later, she became an office nurse for Dr. Warren Hardwick, Dr. David Broadwell and Dr. Anita Broadwell in Angleton.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jerry Tengler; daughters, Patsy Vaughan and husband, Steven, of Tomball and Joan Tengler-Boyd and husband, Larry, of Angleton; son, Robert “Bobby” Tengler of London, Kentucky; grandchildren, who called her MeeMaw, Kelly Vaughan Barnes and husband, Keary, Rebecca Vaughan, all of Tomball, Mat Vaughan and wife, Amanda, of Bryan, Daniel O’Driscoll and Kevin Boyd, both of Angleton, Jaya Tengler and Jared Tengler, both of London, Kentucky; and great-grandchild, Katie Vaughan of Bryan.

MARGARET ELISE WRIGHT MONTE
Born 12-14-1925 Died 1-27-2004
Margaret Elise Wright Monte was born December 14, 1925, in Freeport, Texas, to Robert Wesley Wright and Addie Lorene Meredith Wright. Her mother was a descendant of the pioneering Brazoria County Hudgins family. She married Lawrence James Monte Sr. on Novem-ber 10, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1989.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2004, at Freeport Methodist Church in Freeport, Texas.
Burial will follow at Restwood Cemetery in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2004, at Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Lake Jackson, Texas.
She is survived by one son, Lawrence (Larry) James Monte Jr. and his wife, Barbara Mills Monte. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Jay Lawrence Monte and his wife, Terry, of Corpus Christi, Meredith Martin and her husband, Jamie, of Freeport and Megan Monte and her fiance’, Brent Fabreguze, of Beaumont. She was double-blessed with two great-grandchildren, Lane Allen Martin and Jaci Elise Monte.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Dorothy Muery and Betty Victor.
Margaret was a member of one of the first women’s softball teams in Brazoria County, coached by her father and coached by herself for many years, for the Freeport Recreation Association. She served in many civic capacities and organizations from Freeport Little League, Freeport Recreation Association to BISD committees. She was also active in the Professional Secretaries Association of America, was proud of serving a term as its president. Margaret was an executive secretary for Dow Chemical and worked for Dow for 37 1/2 years.
Margaret was a kind, sweet Christian soul who will be missed by her family and all that knew her. She was a loving, daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
ELLA MAE SOUTHALL
Funeral services for Ella Mae Southall, 83, of Angleton, Texas, will be held Thursday, January 29, 2004, at noon at First Missionary Baptist Church in Angleton, Texas, with the Rev. Gerald Holland, eulogist.
Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Bay City, Texas.
She was born in Bay City, Texas, August 23, 1920, to Willie Thomas and Beulah Morgan Thomas, and passed away Friday, January 23, 2004, at Angleton-Danbury Hospital in Angleton, Texas.
Survivors include a daughter, Bobby Southall-Opara; two grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Thomas, Amanda Thomas and Carrie Edison; one brother, Elijah Thomas; three aunts; and other relatives.

WILLIAM ELTON ELMS
Funeral services for William Elton Elms, 85, of Lake Jackson, Texas, formerly of Littlefield, who died Tuesday, January 20, 2004, in Lake Jackson, were conducted, Friday morning, January 23, 2004, in Hammons Funeral Home Chapel in Littlefield.
The Rev. Jerry Moore, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Littlefield, officiated.
Burial followed in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home.
He was born May 18, 1918, in Killeen, to M.A. and Alice Elms, and lived in the Littlefield area since 1925. He attended Bula Schools and graduated from Littlefield High School. He married Myrtle Baker on December 16, 1941, at the First United Methodist Church in Amherst, by the Rev. Rainey. He entered military service in 1942, where he served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a lifelong farmer in the Amherst area.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, of Lake Jackson; a son, Jay Elms and wife, Martha, of Lake Jackson; a daughter, Betty Reeves and husband, Glenn, of Borger; a brother, M.A. “Rip” Elms Jr. and wife, Billie, of Lubbock; two grandsons, Todd Elms and wife, Christy, of Garland and Kitzel Hoover of Madison, WI; a granddaughter, Elayne Hoover of Austin; two great-grandsons, Taylor and Weston of Garland; three stepgrandchildren, Sheila Lange, Michael Reeves and Carmen McKinney; and five stepgreat-grandchildren, Dalton, Dakota, Shania, Dustin and Brittin, all of Borger.
Pallbearers were Larry Elms, J.W. Bitner, Eddie Elms, Todd Elms, Wendel Elms, Perry Cates, Kip Elms and Michael Reeves.
DOROTHY HELEN ROLLWAGE MOORE
Dorothy Helen Rollwage Moore died in Lake Jackson, Texas, on Monday, January 26, 2004.
She had been ill for a number of years with Parkinson’s Disease.
She was born on July 21, 1931, in Dallas, Texas, to Oliver C. and Thelma P. Rollwage.
Both parents; her brother, John; her husband, Bob C. Moore, predeceased her.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, William A. Rollwage and wife, Laura, of Lake Jackson; their children, Claire Louise Haskins, Laura Susan Engel and Janet Diane Herber; her brother John’s wife, Lucille; and their children, Gary Lynn Rollwage and Kevin John Rollwage, and their children; three stepchildren, and their families.
Following graveside services at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, a memorial service will be held for family and friends at Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church, 6000 S. Hampton, Dallas, Texas.

JANICE "BIG MAMA" EASTERLING
Our precious wife, Mom, and Big Mama slipped peacefully into her Heavenly Father’s arms on Thursday, January 29, 2004, with her family by her side.
Funeral services for Janice Easterling, 76, of Angleton, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 2. 2004, at First Baptist Church of Angleton with Dr. Rodney Bowman officiating.
Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Park in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Friends may visit with family from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2004, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton.
Janice was the youngest of twelve children, born June 24, 1927, to Jesse and Margaret Ward in Lonoke County, Arkansas. In 1947, she married George and they moved to Freeport, Texas, to begin their life together. For many years, she rocked babies in the nursery at West End Baptist Church in Freeport, then later at First Baptist Church of Brazoria. She currently was a member of First Baptist Church of Angleton. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family unconditionally.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, George Easterling, of Angleton; three children who thought she was the greatest Mom on Earth, and their spouses who loved her like their own, daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Russ Thornton of Richardson, son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Theresa Easterling of Lake Jackson, daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Kris Worfe of Angleton. She is also survived by the lights of her life — grandchildren, Jason Easterling of Austin, Ashlee Easterling of San Antonio, Matt Partlow of Lake Jackson, Jean Anne Partlow of San Marcos, Ryan Thornton of Richardson, Paige Worfe of Angleton and her newest gift, a great granddaughter, Skylar.
In addition, she is survived by a brother, Garner Ward of England, Arkansas, and three sisters, Juanita Compton, Bernice Watson and Etta Ward, all of England, Arkansas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by a group of kids that she loved as her own and who lovingly called her their “Big Mama,” including Kim Mize Schaub, Brandye Mize, Keith and Megan Kerr, Amanda and Christi Blackwell, Robbie Watson and Matt and Natalie Vern.
Pallbearers will be Larry Mize, Brian Cervenka, Doug Cardwell, Roy Karl, Tim Kelley, Bryan Beasley, Tommy Kerr and Ken Tyner.

JOHN C. "J.C." HIGGINS SR.
Funeral services for John C. “J.C.” Higgins Sr., 76, of Brazoria, Texas, will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2004, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Brazoria with the Reverend L.C. Dews officiating and the Reverend L.G. Griggs eulogizing.
Burial will be at St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery, in Brazoria.
He died on Thursday, January 29, 2004, at Sweeny House.
He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board for 35 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy , was Democratic Precinct 33 chairman and was also a member of VFW Post 8551.
He is survived by his wife of 54 1/2 years, Annie Mae Higgins, of Brazoria; two sons, John C. Higgins Jr. (Margarette), Steven E. Higgins (Jackie), both of Brazoria; one daughter, Jeanetta Higgins Williams (Robert Jr.) of Brazoria; five brothers, Stratton Higgins (Thelma) of Brazoria, Travis Higgins (Erma Jean) of Pearland, Jerry Higgins (Jean Ann) of Brazoria, Andrew Higgins (Verlinda) of Houston, Angus Lannis Higgins of Angleton; six sisters, Annie Louise Fields, Carrie Arlene Sneed (Reuben), Geneva Shannon, Priscilla Wilkins, all of Houston, Polly Cooper (Ernest) of Alvin, Lola Jean Newman (Calvin) of Brazoria; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was born in Cedar Lake, Texas, on October 4, 1942, and was reared by Rayfield and Darcus Gee, and passed away on Monday, January 26, 2004, at Brazosport Memorial Hospital in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Betty L. Stevenson, of Freeport; two daughters, Reevinettia Stevenson and DeAndrea Williams (and Rodney) all of Freeport; four sons, Eunice Stevenson Jr. (and Frances), Joseph Stevenson (and Delores), all of Freeport, Al-Jarreau Stevenson (and Shae) of Clute, and Anthony Burton (and Kira) of Houston; two sisters, Carolyn Blackmon and Vivian Davis of Bay City; three brothers, Elrdige Gee (and Linda) of Hitchcock, Gene Gee (and Jackie) of Texas City and Arthur Gee (and Mary) of Bay City; three foster sisters; two foster brothers; 28 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

THE REV. JIMMY H. GREEN
The Reverend Jimmy H. Green, Bishop of Christian Tabernacle in Angleton, Texas, for 24 1/2 years, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2004, at his residence in Danbury at the age of 63. Brother Green was an ordained minister of the United Pentecostal Church International and was Missionary to Germany from 1976 to 1978. He was currently serving as Presbyter of South Texas District U.P.C.I. A Veteran of the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962, he also founded Kidz Depot in Angleton and Kidz Harbor in Liverpool.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 31, 2004, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 1, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Christian Tabernacle in Angleton.
A memorial service is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2004, at Christian Tabernacle.
Funeral services are scheduled for noon Monday, February 2, 2004, at Life Tabernacle Church in Houston.
Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Houston.
Jimmy Harold Green was born in Houston on May 8, 1940, to Clarence Hillery and Viola Rosaleen Ideker Green.
His parents; and one son, Douglas Clarence Green, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Rita Green, of Danbury; children, Angela Colbert and husband, Bruce, of Danbury, Patricia Estes and husband, Tim, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Diane Marques and husband, Sean, of Danbury, Jimmy Harold “Bubba” Green Jr. and wife, Regina, of Angleton, and Marilyn Cummings and husband, Art, of Angleton; brother, Bishop C.G. “Jabo” Green of Spring; sisters, Fern Phillips of Houston, Joyce Jones of Humble and Faye Pierce of Pasadena; and 15 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Art Cummings, Travis Quinn, Dwight Beck, Travis Turner, Bill Jaquay, Jimmy Jacob and Bill Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Pate, Tom Randolph, Paul O’Farrell, Buddy Hall and all of the men of Christian Tabernacle.
Jim Green was a loving husband, father, grandfather, pastor and friend who will be missed by all.
