Michael William Mayer, 66, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2003.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary; three sons, Ken (and Donna) Mayer of Lake Jackson, Paul (and Shari) Mayer of Fort Worth and Grant (and Pam) Mayer of Chandler, Arizona; three grandchildren, Heather, Kevin and Shelby.
At the request of the deceased, no services will be held.
He will be loved and missed by many whose life he touched.
Manuel Jose Aleman
Manuel Jose Aleman, 64, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2003.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Manuel was a very generous man who had a big heart that touched a lot of people. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Josephina Aleman; brothers, Alejandro Aleman and Alonzo Aleman; and sister, Esther Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Angela C. Aleman; children, Manuel Aleman Jr., Alex Aleman, Lorraine Garza (Tim) of Lake Jackson, Edward Aleman and Randy Aleman (Patti); grandchildren, Joseph and Jonathan Aleman, Krystal, Alexis, Alex Jr. and Justin Aleman, Timmy, Angela and Sally Garza, Aaron Aleman and Ziad Atiya; sister, Lucila Contreras (Juan) of Channelview; brother, Julian Aleman (Vangie) of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Lydia Aleman of Houston; brother-in-law, Dionicio Gonzalez of Robstown; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Earl Griggs, 76, of Bay City, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Mother Zion Baptist Church in Bay City, Texas, with the Rev. K. J. Griggs, pastor, and the Rev. T. L. Richardson, eulogist.
Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Bay City, Texas.
He was born in Gainesmore, Texas, August 12, 1927, to Ellis Griggs Sr. and Gertrude Tellison Griggs, and passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at the V.A. Hospital in Houston, Texas.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in WWII and was retired from Matagorda General Hospital in 1990, after 29 years.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian James Griggs, of Bay City; seven children, Robert Earl Griggs, Charlotte Griggs Knapp (& Randall), Gladys Griggs Agu, Jonathan (& Dian), Shelia, Earlean and Ellis Earl, all of Bay City; two sisters, Ruby Matthews of Bay City and Betty Wiley of Lake Jackson; four brothers, the Rev. Murray Griggs Sr. of Cedar Lane, Elder Eugene Griggs of Sweeny, Ellis Griggs of Bailey’s Prairie and Robert Griggs of Houston; three stepchildren, Curtis Roberts of Bay City, Quinta Alexander of Houston and Perry Shaw (& Pamela) of San Antonio; 16 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Mrs. L.R. Quintella Sabrsula, 72, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away Monday, December 1, 2003, at Kindred Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Lake Jackson Church of Christ with Joe Talbot officiating.
Interment will be held at
2 p.m. at Hartsville Cemetery in Wallis, Texas.

Quintella was an area resident for 58 years and was a member of Lake Jackson Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin J. Sabrsula; and granddaughter, Kathryn Marie Mayberry.
Survivors include her son, Michael Sabrsula and wife, Toni, of Lake Jackson; sister, Doris Bennetsen and husband, Henry; grandchildren, Joseph Ryan Sabrsula and wife, Crystal, Miranda Kate Sabrsula and Matthew Lorne Mayberry; and many other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Jerry Louise Ludwig.

Melba Lois Danford, 86, of Brazoria, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2003, in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Brazoria, Texas.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Brazoria, with Brother James Howard officiating.
Lois was born on December 20, 1916, in Troup, Texas. Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brazoria, at which she taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years and was an active PTA member in the Columbia-Brazoria schools.
Lois is especially remembered for her love of her grandchildren, singing her favorite church songs and for her love of flowers.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mamie Mitchell; a brother, Robert Mitchell; her husband, Garvin Danford; and sisters, Nadine Harwood and Wilma Danford.
Lois is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jacquelynn Danford of Lake Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Melba and Glenn Campbell of Lake Jackson, and daughter and son-in-law, June and Paul Kosh of Midland; sisters, Maurine Cowart, Pauline Danford and brother, Billie Mitchell of Brazoria; grandchildren, Kay Vonne Howard and husband, Lance, of Allen, Derek Campbell and wife, Sheri, of The Woodlands, Chris Kosh and wife, Suzy, of Austin, Brandon Danford of Austin and Mark Kosh of Huntsville; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Campbell and Zoe Kosh.
Pallbearers will be Doyle Danford, Neal Danford, Derek Campbell, Chris Kosh, Mark Kosh, Brandon Danford and John Mark Danford.

Bryan Lanehart, of Angleton, Texas, died Sunday, November 30, 2003, in Angleton Danbury Medical Center at the age of 43.

JERRY O. PERRY
Jerry O. Peery, 42, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away at his residence on December 1, 2003.
He was born in Freeport, Texas, on February 11, 1961. He lived in Lake Jackson all of his life. He was a graduate of Brazoswood High School, class of 1979. Mr. Peery was the owner of Peery Wrecker Service for the past 19 years.
He was a very caring person and always helping others.
Survivors include two brothers, Wayne (Mary) Peery and Kirby (Jihad) Peery; two step-children, Sher Ellington, Issac Opfer; nieces, Janel Peery, Courntey Jones; nephews, Kevin & Keith Peery and Dallas Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Wilma Peery, and his sister, Katherine.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Lakewood Funeral Chapel.
