Esther Louise Ellison, 85, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2003, at Angleton Danbury Medical Center.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2003, at Angleton Cemetery.
Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery.
Esther was a 62-year area resident. She was a 55-year member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Brazosport. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Muriel Myer; husband, Paul H. Roberts; second husband, John D. Ellison; daughters, Monta Edens and Roberta Tousha; and sister, Maxine Patterson.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Burleson, Paula Simons, Manuelita Hearon, Patricia Fairbanks Childress; sons, Melvin Edens, Paul Edens; sisters, Rosemond Owens, Carolyn Crafton, Annabell Wialliamson; brothers, John Myer Jr., Haskel Myer, Kenneth Myer, Donald Myer; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Cynthia was involved with her kids in many of their activities including Boy Scouts, baseball and softball, and volunteered in her community for several charity fund-raisers. Cynthia died on Tuesday, November 25, 2003, in Lake Jackson, Texas, at the age of 35.

Walker of Livingston; mother, Janette Smith of Danbury; mother, Barbara Helms & husband, Dewayne, of Crystal Beach; son, Derrick Louis Hadley of Freeport; daughters, Amber R. Hadley and Erica Hadley, both of Freeport; Jessica Delgado of Clute; brothers, Ricky, Johnny, Charles, Billy and David; sisters, Karri, Katheryn, Elizabeth, Deby; ex-husband, Bobby Hadley; fiancé, Joey Delgado, and numerous other relatives.

VIVA FAY BENNETT MITCHELL
Viva Fay Bennett Mitchell, 86, of Danbury, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003, in Lake Jackson. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, November 29, in the First Baptist Church of Clute with Brother Mark Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Danbury Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Palms Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mitchell was born September 11, 1917, in Guy, Texas, to James M. and Rosa L. Gryder Bennett, and graduated from Texas State College for Women. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clute and retired from Danbury ISD after 20 years of teaching. Mrs. Mitchell loved to paint and work in her garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Coy Mitchell, brother, James W. Bennett and sisters, Ruth O. Josey and Mattie J. Matula, a granddaughter, Melissa Kay Meier and son-in-law, Greg Morris.
Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Meier and husband, Bud, of West Columbia and Cindy Konvicka and husband, Mike, of Hungerford; brother, Ervin Bennett of Point Comfort; granddaughters Wendi Peavy and Amanda Meier of West Columbia; and great-granddaughters Allison Peavy, Katie Scarlett Peavy and Mallory Peavy, all of West Columbia.

Bernice Perrin, 87, of Brazoria, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at Angleton Danbury Medical Center.

DIMPLE LOUISE REGIAN
Louise Regian departed this life peacefully on Nov. 26, 2003, at the age of 79. Her final hours were spent at home with her family by her side.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sat. Nov. 29, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel in West Columbia with the Rev. James Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Sweeny Cemetery in Sweeny, Texas. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Robert Regian, Wesley Regian, Stacy Regian, Gary Pack, Walter Athey and Clifford Tibbs. Honorary pallbearers will be David Regian, Michael Regian, Stephen Regian and Jerry Whitt.
Louise was born on April 11, 1924, in Marlin, Texas, to Connally and Bessie Tibbs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Burnise Lee Regian, next to whom she will be laid to rest. She is also preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, a brother and a sister.
She is survived by her four children, Burnise Wesley Regian and wife, Tommie, of Vancouver, Wash., Wilburn Eugene Regian of West Columbia, twin daughters, Edith Lou Johnson and husband, Jimmy, of Kountze, and Eva Sue Castleberry and husband, Kelly, of Old Ocean. She is also survived by a special niece/daughter, Vickie Whitt and husband, Jerry, of Waco; a sister, Flora Lee Athey and husband, Walter, of Lorena; brothers, Connally Tibbs and wife, Johnny, of Abilene, George Tibbs and wife, Betty, of Waco and close sister-in-law, Vera Mae Sulters and husband, J.W. Also 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a very close friend from high school, Mary Hammer of Waco.
Louise was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 8551 in Old Ocean and also a member of Victory Baptist Church in Brazoria.

PHILIP ADAM "JACK" KEITEL SR.
Philip Adam “Jack” Keitel Sr., 89, of Brazoria, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2003, in Lake Jackson, Texas.
He was born in Ledbetter, Texas,, on Saturday, July 4, 1914, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brazoria.
Survivors include his daughter, Judy K. Gifford of Brazoria, son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Cathy Keitel of Conroe and son, Gerald Keitel of Brazoria, sister, Jeanette DeHart of Spring, four granddaughters, Julie English and husband, David, of Conroe, Kristi Cooper and husband, Todd, of Conroe, Renee Harlen and husband, Luke, of League City, and Patti Smith of League City, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Beulah J. Keitel, and four sisters, Olivia Dominey, Elizabeth Olson, Dorothy Gaiser and Christine Hensley.
Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Brazoria on Saturday, November 29, 2003, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Frank Alegria officiating. Visitation will be at Baker Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, 2003, between 4 and 7 p.m. in Brazoria. Burial will be at the Brazoria Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Jack’s name to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 9, Brazoria, Texas, 77422.
Jack moved to Brazoria with his wife Beulah in early 1937 and lived there for the rest of his life. He worked for Jefferson Lake Sulfur Company for about two years and then went to work for an oil and gas drilling company that developed the Old Ocean Gas Field. In about 1942, he was the driller of the deepest well in the world near Sweeny. In about 1950, he went to work for Phillips Petroleum and stayed there until his retirement in 1976.
In about 1944 he was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Brazoria School District and remained on the board until 1954. He was president for at least one of those years. He was instrumental in starting the Brazoria County Museum in Angleton and the Brazoria Community Museum, with many historical items shown there.
Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather. History was his passion.
MARYLAND FRANKLIN
Funeral services for Maryland Franklin, 86, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Angleton, with the Rev. G.R. Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Galloway Cemetery in Hearne, Texas.
She passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Country Village Care in Angleton. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Gardner’s Funeral Chapel in Angleton, Texas.
She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted god-daughter, Brenda Randall of Rosharon, Texas; two care-giving nieces, Clara Davis and Leola Richo, both of Clute, Texas; one brother, Clarette Fuller of Jones Creek, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Lawrence Richo, Leonard Richo, Timothy Richo, Leon Richo, Steven Burton, Eugene Fuller, Stossie B. Fuller Jr., Larry Fuller, Frank Fuller Sr. and Frank Fuller Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. Cameron Fuller’s sons.

RAYMOND KENNETH LEDWIG
Raymond Kenneth Ludwig went to be with the Lord November 26, 2003. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Jerry Louise Ludwig. Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Eve Claire Ludwig and Susan Elaine Mehner; his son, Robert Lynn Ludwig; his sister, Carol Williams; grandchildren, Carl Eric Mehner and Angela Christine Mehner. His funeral service will be Saturday Morning November 29 at 10am in the chapel of Colonial Funeral Home 901 S. Main Pasadena, TX. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Bernice H. Perrin, 87 of Brazoria, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003 in Angleton, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2003 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Brazoria.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2003 with Dr. Frank Alegria officiating at the First United Methodist Church in Brazoria.
She was born on Wednesday, December 22, 1915 in Deming, New Mexico.
She was an area resident for 60 plus years. Member of the First United Methodist Church of Brazoria, Brazoria Study Club, Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and helped with the Rainbow Girls. Bernice served the City of Brazoria as an assistant to the City Secretary for many years. She also worked for Brazoria County as the secretary to County Commissioner, Joe Brigance.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in law, Ray & Virginia Bigler of Sweeny; daughter and son-in law, Barbara & Mickey Weems of West Columbia; grandchildren, Dawn Jensen & husband, Carlton, Michael Bigler, Holly Heble & husband, Kurt, Heidi Wenaas & husband, Mike, Nathan Weems & wife, Susan; four great-grandchildren; and niece, Flo Weems Kuntz of Sweeny.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Perrin; and brother, Bernard Johnson.
