JAMES PAUL "JAKE" BLEDSOE
James Paul “Jake” Bledsoe, 63, of Van Vleck, Texas, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at Kindred Hospital in Houston, Texas.
He was born January 12, 1940, in Iraan, Texas, to the late Tonnie Paul and Lee Lucille Johnson Bledsoe. Jake was a resident of Matagorda County for the past 60 years and a resident of Van Vleck for the past 30 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Van Vleck, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Henderson Bledsoe of Van Vleck; daughter & son-in-law, Kimberly Rene’ & Kelly Matchett of Van Vleck; brother and sister-in-law, Maurice & Bonnie Bledsoe of Lafayette, Louisiana; and two granddaughters, Tabitha Renee and Michelle Ann Matchett, both of Van Vleck.
Jake was preceded in death by his brother, William A. “Bill” Bledsoe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church of Van Vleck, Texas, with the Rev’s. Tom Morgan and Linda Maxey officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Gary, Raleigh and Maurice Bledsoe, Jr., Lanny and Lloyd Henderson, Heath Darby, Bryan McDonald and Bill Zizelmann.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Richmond, Clint Burchfield, Loren, Bill, Jack and Lester W. Henderson, Jeff Darby, Dennis Naiser, Lance Salas and Neil Gibson.

Julio Cesar Rodriguez, 30, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 21, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2003, at St. Michael’s Church in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Lake Jackson, Texas.
He was born June 19, 1972. He was employed with The Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 10 years, and then began his long desire as a truck driver. He was employed at Groendyke Transport Inc. in 2000, where he continued his ambitions.
Julio dreamed of being a truck driver since he was a little boy. He cherished the memories he had of riding with his uncles throughout different parts of the country.
He was a very loving husband and a dedicated father who devoted his time with his sons in their schools and as a volunteer for the Lake Jackson Baseball & Basketball Associations. His loving, caring, and supportive personality made everyone feel comforted at all times.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica Soriano Rodriguez and their two beautiful sons, Alex, 12 and Christian 6; parents, Roman & Francisca Rodriguez; brothers and sisters-in-law, Porfirio & Edith Rodriguez, Francisco & Yolanda Rodriguez and Adrian & Priscilla Rodriguez; sisters and brother-in-law, Maria & Rigoderto Ramirez and Lucy Rodriguez; nephews and nieces include Krystal, Mark, Alex, Valerie and Adrianna Rodriguez and Elijah, Jalisa, Isaiah and Lorena Soriano.
Pallbearers will be Paul James DeLeon, Travis Adam DeLeon, Jose Salinas, Joe Meza and Rene Soriano.

Funeral services for Myrna Kay Chitwood Morris, 59, of Pearland, Texas, were held Monday, March 24, 2003.
She died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Burial was in Southpark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arie & Mae Chitwood of Oyster Creek; brother, DeWayne Chitwood of Lake Jackson; and brother, Bobby Chitwood of Oyster Creek.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ray Morris of Pearland and daughter, Rayna Morris of Pearland; one brother James Henry Chitwood of Clute; one sister, Joyce Chitwood Macek of Oyster Creek; and numerous other family members.

Ruth Lavaughn Davis, 50, of South Water Street, Kent, Ohio, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.
She was born January 25, 1953 in Galveston, Texas. She worked in the bakery department at Sam’s Wholesale Club.
Survivors include her daughters, Amanda (Robbie) Mitchell of Danbury, Jessica (Bob) Runnels of Kent, Erica (John) Runnels of Blasedell, New York and Lindy Rasberry of Conroe; nine grandchildren; mother, Mildred Davis of Danbury; brothers, Wayne Davis of Houston and Jesse B. Robin of Beaumont; sisters, Sharon Gore of Danbury and Shelly Davidson of Anchorage, Alaska.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Davis; brother, Jimmy Don Batten; sister, Kimberly Robin; and her birth mother, Sylvia Leiker.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held in Texas at a later date.

LOUIS ENGLISH MAY
Louis English May, 81, of Angleton, Texas, formerly of the Abilene area, passed away, Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Cypress Woods Care Center in Angleton, Texas.
Louis was born in Haskell City, Texas on April 11, 1921, to Sam E & Cora Rector May. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1942, he served during World War II in the Pacific. Louis was an avid fisherman and loved to garden and was a member of VFW and American Legion, as well as Masonic Lodge #934 in Rule, Texas.
His parents; first wife, Alice May; second wife, Hattie Lee May; and brother, W.G. May, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Bruce E. May & wife Elizabeth of Angleton; granddaughter, Mindy R. Price & husband Travis of Sugarland; grandson, Michael E. May of Angleton; great-grandson, John Tristan Price of Sugarland; brother, John Ed May & wife Berna of Odessa; sister, Joyce Bond & husband Jack of Hamlin; sister-in-law, Lea May of Rule; and special friend, Margie Bargwell of Angleton.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Gann, two sons, Ryan Perry and Michael Tanguma, and daughter-in-law, Tammy Perry; all of Lake Jackson; father, Orville Adkins of Clute; sister, Jeri Dubois of Lake Jackson; five grandchildren; and a step-sister, Sally Gonzales of Lake Jackson.
She is loved by all that knew her and will be truly missed.
