ALICE FAYE KITTRELL
LOCKPORT, Ill. -- Services for Alice Faye Kittrell, 67, of Lockport, Ill., are set for 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Bowie with the Rev. Greg Newton, pastor of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Bowie, officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie under the direction of the Fry Funeral Home of Bowie.
Mrs. Kittrell died Oct. 9, 2001, in Joliett, Ill.
She was born Sept. 6, 1934, in McClain. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse and a member of the Pentecostal faith. On March 5, 1950, she married Clarence E. Kittrell in Gainesville. She was a long-time resident of Bowie before moving to Lockport, Ill., a year ago.
Survivors include her sons, C.E. "Cheech" Kittrell Jr. of Gainesville, Randy L. Kittrell of Bowie, Jimmy Don Kittrell of Bowie, and Ralph Dewayne Kittrell of Bowie; daughter, Mrs. Deborah Lynn Miller of Lockport, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Laura Kirkland of Abilene; brothers, Willard "Bill" Smith of Tomball, Judd Smith of Enid, Okla., V.L. "Bunk" Smith of Vidor, and J.G. Smith of Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Kittrell Sr. on Jan. 7, 1986.
The family will receive friends at the Fry Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
OWEN D. ROANE
VALLEY VIEW -- Services for Owen D. Roane, 80, of Valley View, are pending with the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mr. Roane died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at his residence.
BOBBY GENE UMSTED
WHITESBORO -- Services for Bobby Gene Umsted, 49, of Whitesboro, are set for 4 p.m. Sunday at Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville with Pastor Arthur Green, minister of the Church of Jesus Christ in Gainesville, officiating. Private service for the family will be scheduled later. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mr. Umsted died July 31, 2002, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 25, 1952, in Collinsville to Erlin and Ellen Jarman Umsted. He was a retired brick layer.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Coby and Amber Umsted of Ada, Okla., and Billy Jack Umsted of Ada, Okla.; six grandchildren; brother, Paul Umsted of Longview; and sisters, Patsy Terry of Whitesboro and Peggy Crisp of Whitesboro.
Mr. Umsted will lie in state at the funeral home from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
MARY ETTA GARRETT
Services for Mary Etta Garrett, 75, of Gainesville, are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville with the Rev. Clifford Allred of New Faith Baptist Church and the Rev. Brent Jones of Northgate Church in Grapevine. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Garrett died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at her residence.
She was born July 29, 1943, in Clarksville to Robert and Bertha Mae (King) Melton. On June 1, 1943, she married Grady White Sr. in Aleene, Ark. She married George Garrett on March 12, 1966. She was a member of the New Faith Baptist Church and a homemaker. She worked at Whites Poultry, Linda Jo Shoe Factory and Lorch Westway in Gainesville. She also worked at the sawmill and York's Pecan company in Arkansas.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Grady and Barbara White Jr. of Gainesville; M.L. and Vonita White of Coppell; Windle and Donna White of Gainesville; and Clifton Garrett of Texarkana; daughters and sons-in-law Evelyn and David Beaver of Callisburg; Mary and Chuck Salisbury of Gainesville; Shirley and R.B. Lansdell of Ashdown, Ark.; several nieces; numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Grady White Sr. in 1980 and George Garrett in 1998; brother Robert Melton Jr.; and sister Doris Smith.
Pallbearers are Jay Puckett, Mark Gunter, Jerry Crawford, David Prescher, Mike Milo and James Hatcher.
Honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons.
The family will be at Clement-Keel Funeral Home Monday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

JOHN W. RAMSEY
WOODBINE -- Services for John W. Ramsey, 58, of Woodbine, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Patterson and the Rev. David Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Nelson Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mr. Ramsey died Feb. 5, 2003, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 5, 1944, in Bonham to Roy Melvin and Cecil Mae Carpenter Ramsey. He attended Callisburg High School. On Nov. 6, 1964, he married Nita Wilson in Gainesville. He had been employed at Weber Aircraft for 34 years. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Whitesboro.
Survivors include his wife, Nita Ramsey of Woodbine; sons, Tony, Tracy and Brad Ramsey, all of Woodbine; daughters, Daloris Cook and Robin Watson, both of Woodbine; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Roy Ramsey Jr. of Woodbine, and Eddie Ramsey of Mountain Springs; and sister, Glenda Fleitman of Hood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson.
Pallbearers are Gary Johnson, Jamie Cantrell, Rusty Wilson, John Cunningham, John McVee, and Lloyd Vaughan.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
DORTHY DEAN SITZES
PILOT POINT -- Services for Dorthy Dean Sitzes, 74, of Pilot Point, are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point with the Rev. Milton Pledger officiating. Burial will follow in Pilot Point Community Cemetery under the direction of the Huff-Slay Funeral Home of Pilot Point.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
Mrs. Sitzes died April 8, 2003, at Denton Community Hospital in Denton.
She was born Dec. 11, 1928, in Era to Vernie Lee and Jewel Potts Cook. On April 27, 1951, she married Robert Gene Sitzes at Mt. Pleasant Church in the Mountain Springs Community in Cooke County. She was a rancher's wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Lori Sitzes of Pilot Point; two grandsons; sister, Joan Smith of Pilot Point; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 3, 1994.
Pallbearers are Dennis Nortman Jr., Jeremy Nortman, Randy Hargrove, Ken Muzalewski, Scott Sitzes and Britt Ramsey.

EVELYN MARTIN PORTER
Services for Evelyn Martin Porter, 88, of Gainesville, are set for 1:30 p.m. today at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with the Rev. J.L. Williams, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.
Mrs. Porter died Oct. 7, 2003, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 14, 1914, in Tyler to Claude and Roxie Holbrook Harris. On June 25, 1933, she married Cebal F. Martin in Lindale. She had resided in Cooke County since 1933. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her quiet dignity left an impression on everyone who came in contact with her.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and John Smallwood; granddaughter, Debbie Smallwood; grandson and wife, Keith and Heather Smallwood; great-grandchildren, Amy, Luke, Morgan and Hayden Smallwood, all of Gainesville; sister, Dorothy Haynes of Tyler; nephew and his wife, John David and Angie Haynes of Tyler; and great-niece, Jan Haynes of Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cebal F. Martin in 1973; and her mother and step-father, Roxie and Ed Turner.
Pallbearers are Joe Albro, Weldon Lyons, Ed Vick, Johnny Leftwich, Ron Burrus, and Dwayne Garner.
ELSIE A. SEWELL
Graveside services for Elsie A. Sewell, 88, of Gainesville, are set for 2 p.m. today at New Rest Haven Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Sundbye, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mrs. Sewell died Feb. 26, 2001, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1912, in Munich, Germany, to Erich and Emilie Berchtold Thron. On Oct. 24, 1947, she married Jasper Sewell in Sherman. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Nora Hale of Dallas; one niece; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Jasper Sewell.
No visitation is planned.
WILLIE LEE BARKSDALE
Services for Willie Lee Barksdale, 84, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Brooks officiating.
Mrs. Barksdale died April 14, 2001, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 13, 1917, in Scotland, Ark., to Jeff and Eva Lacefield Medlock.
Mrs. Barksdale worked as a bookkeeper, secretary, nurse's assistant and was also employed by Furr's Cafeteria. She formerly attended a Baptist church. She was a resident of El Paso until she moved to Gainesville in 1986.
Survivors include her daughter, Evelyn J. Foster (Brown); three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; and brother, Fred Medlock of Terry, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Barksdale; daughter, Charlene Alarcon; and a grandson.
No visitation is planned.
ROY GUNN
Services for Roy Gunn, 60, are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Arlington Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the Arlington Funeral Home of Arlington.
Mr. Gunn passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001 in Dallas.
Roy Gunn was born May 27, 1941 in Daingerfield. He was a resident of Gainesville for four years and former resident of Dallas. He was a graduate of Arlington State and a member of Alcohol Anonymous for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Tucker Gunn of Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Shannon Gunn of Coppell, and Alan and Lori Gunn of Katy; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and William Kuczynski of Pottsboro; brother, Leon Gunn of Pittsburg; sisters, Mary Stevens of Fort Worth and Clara Rich of Benbrook; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Billy; and sister, Dell.

CHARLIE M. POSTON
FORT WORTH -- Charlie M. Poston, 89, a retired railroad car inspector, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at home.
Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Chapel. Entombment will follow in Garden of Memories Mausoleum. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Morris was born on May 9, 1912 in Merryville. He was the oldest of eight children born to his parents, Samuel and Ada Poston and came to Fort Worth in the early 1950's. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad most of his life and retired after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Stockyard Lodge #1244 and was active for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Pauline Poston and daughters, Margie Thompson, and JoAnn Johnston.
Survivors include his son, Charles T. Poston of Arlington; grandchildren, James Simpson of Collinsville, Bridgett Hedrick of Lewisville, Kimberly Sewell of Azle, Paul Duncan of Springtown, Tracy Williams of Azle, Carol Finley of West, Sam Poston and Johnny Poston; sister, Eunice Hoffman of Artesia, NM.; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Lovingly attended at death by Susan Duncan.

CHARLES BRITT
COLLINSVILLE -- Services for Charles Britt, 73, of Collinsville, are pending with the Huff Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
Mr. Britt died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at his residence.
LODDIE F. ROEDER SR.
Loddie F. Roeder Sr. died peacefully at McKenna Memorial Hospital on July 30. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Priscilla; his son, Paul W. and wife, Linda of Chula Vista, Calif.; son, Loddie F. and wife, Rae Ann of New Braunfels; daughter, Cynthia Melena of Port Aransas; daughter, Mary Nan and husband, Mickey Castro of Grapevine; son, Jeffrey A. of Austin; daughter, Laura and husband, Tony Vela of Wimberly; daughter, Pauline and husband, William Richardson of Boca Raton, Fla.; grandchildren, Pauline Preuss and husband, Matthew; Matthew Castro and wife, Rhonda; Nina Castro, Loddie F. Roeder III, Natalie Castro, Nicholas Roeder, Kathryn Roeder, Mark Castro, Michael Vela and Kevin Vela; and three great-grandchildren, Minmei Preuss, Audrey Castro and Thomas Suarez.
He is also survived by a brother, Benjamin G. Roeder and wife, Marguerite of Robstown; a niece, Nancy Guernsey; great-niece, Laura Guernsey; and a nephew, Benjamin Roeder, all of Houston.
He is also survived by the Derks and Picard families who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by wife, Pauline (nŽe Murphy) Roeder; and a sister, Augusta Sistrunk.
Mr. Roeder was born near Shiner, Texas, on Aug. 25, 1920, the third child of Wiliam J. and Albina (nŽe Krenek) Roeder. At a young age, his family moved to Robstown where he attended school and worked at the W.J. Roeder Cotton Gin. He graduated from Robstown High School in 1938. Very soon after the start of World War II, he joined the Army Air Corp and trained as a pilot. He served his country on domestic and foreign shores. He was a member of the Fifth Ferrying Flight Group that shuttled planes across the Atlantic Ocean from Boston to the European front. The mission, above all else, was to get the plane to Europe safely. He made many trips and achieved his mission every time. Later in the war, he was a member of the 10th Combat Cargo Squadron stationed at Dinjan, India. As a Humpster, he flew cargo and Chinese troops in support of the war effort against the Japanese. Flying through and between the Himalayan Mountains, under the most treacherous circumstances, he and his crew put their trust in God.
Mr. Roeder married Pauline Murphy of Boston, Mass., on Feb. 6, 1944, in St. Joseph, Mo. After World War II, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 1949 with a degree in business. He was an avid Longhorn fan, and encouraged his children and grandchildren to be the same.
Having pursued a career in banking sales, he retired in 1986 to Lake Kiowa, where he pursued his life-long love of playing golf, planting flowers, growing vegetables and trimming trees. His friends and neighbors saw him every day working to improve the golf course he loved. There was never a moment when he was not doing something outside to make everyone's surroundings more beautiful.
In 1988, Loddie married Priscilla Derks at Niagara Falls, N.Y. Together, they played golf, traveled to Hump Pilots Association conventions and visited with their beloved families.
Mr. Roeder was proud of his Czech heritage, being a descendant of early settlers in the Shiner/Praha area. He was a devout Catholic and a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus. He was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America, encouraging his sons and grandsons to follow the Scouting tradition. He was proud of his country, his state, his university, but most of all, he was proud of his family. He loved each child and grandchild unconditionally and delighted in everything they did. He supported them in all their endeavors. He worked hard, provided well for his family and instilled in them values for a lifetime. Everyone who met him loved him. He was an honorable and decent man.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home of New Braunfels. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Msgr. Edward Bily, Celebrant.
