Case
Eunice Frances Kubala Case, 88, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, in Corpus Christi.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1915, on a farm near Beeville to Czech and Scot/French descendants Alfonce L. and Norma Marguerite (Wallis) Kubala. She attended business college and married Jack J. Case on Oct. 16, 1932. Over the years she developed a career in accounting, worked at Guaranty Title, the naval air station (civil service), and eventually retiring from Corn Products. She moved with her family to  Oklahoma in 1968 to assist in the care of her aging parents. In 1995, she returned to Corpus Christi.
Mrs. Case was active in the Catholic church, the USO, YWCA and Girls Scouts of America.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her brothers, Elisha and Lonnie; a sister, Clara Mary Kubala; and a grandson, David E. Case.
Survivors include her brother, Alfonce Kubala Jr. of Denver,  Colo.; a son, Henry Earl Case; a daughter, Nancy (Paul) Bowman; grandchildren, Dennis Case, Sarah Ann, Paul Jr. and Maria N. Bowman; three great-grandchildren, Meredith, Tommy and Lauren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Home chapel in Corpus Christi, with a rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the nursing staff at Wooldridge Place Nursing Center, 7552 Wooldridge Place, Corpus Christi, TX 78414 or the St. Pius X Youth Group c/o St. Pius X Church.
Arrangements were handled through Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service, Corpus Christi.

Cuellar
Anita Saldivar Cuellar, 78, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services took place today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at the same location with the Rev. Salvador Rincon officiating. Burial followed in San Pedro Cemetery in the Clareville community.
Mrs. Cuellar was born on July 26, 1926, to Ismael and Maria (Samudia) Saldivar. She was married to Ygnacio Cuellar. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son, Esmeraldo Sanchez, and a brother, Ruben Saldivar.
Survivors include her sons, Domingo Sanchez Jr. and Armando (Francis) Sanchez of Beeville, Rene (Stella) Sanchez of Seguin and Manuel F. (Silvia) Sanchez of Round Rock; a daughter, Patricia (Anthony) Dela Cruz of Beeville; four brothers, Ismael Jr. and Julian Saldivar, both of Beeville, Pete Saldivar of Houston and Rudolfo Saldivar of Katy; four sisters, Delia Manrique of San Antonio, Dora Martinez of Seguin, Mary Sanchez of Sugar Land and Hermenia Martinez of Beeville; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Johnson
Frances C. Johnson, 87, a resident of Rockport for more than 25 years, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at a Corpus Christi hospital.
She was born on Jan. 31, 1917, in Kansas City, Kan., to Sidney and Sylvia Titt.
Mrs.  Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Alice Titt, and her husband, Roy Melvin Johnson.
Survivors include her cousin, Kenneth Titt of Victoria; her stepson, John Wayne (Mary)  Johnson of Beeville; two step-granddaughters, Tammy Miller of Brownsville and Sherri Zachary of Llano; three brothers-in-law, Jesse  Johnson of Pettus, Foy  Johnson of Corpus Christi and J.E.  Johnson of Robstown; three sisters-in-law, Jewell Luther of Mathis, Theresa Dyer of Boerne and Linda  Johnson of Holden, Utah.
Visitation was held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport. Graveside services were conducted at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville.
Arrangements were handled through Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes and Crematory, Rockport.

Ruiz
Fidencio Ruiz, 67, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004.
Mr. Ruiz was born in Clareville on Dec. 26, 1936, to Christobal and Anita (Medina) Ruiz. He was a retired mechanic, musician and cemetery caretaker. He had been employed at Alaniz and Perez Garage and San Pedro Cemetery. He was the director of the St. James Choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Ruiz.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Lopez Ruiz, and a son, Albert Ruiz, both of Beeville, a sister, Aurora R. (Mariano) Munoz of Clareville community and a brother, Chris (Frances) Ruiz of Mathis.
Rosary was recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at St. James with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial followed in Clareville’s San Pedro Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Adan Martinez, Ramiro Ruiz, Israel Garcia Jr., Martin Munoz, Basilio Orozco and Carlos Garcia. Honorary pallbearers were Luz Garza, Cheo Perez, Antonio De La Rosa, Elsa Munoz, Ellie Hernandez and Mike Hernandez.

Salmon
Veda M. Hardin Salmon, 90, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004.
Visitation was held Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Jeff Bonnville, Shane Bradley, Rob and Trey Baylor and Tom and David Booth.
Mrs. Salmon was born on May 21, 1914, in Blanket to John Franklin and Daisy (McInnish) Hardin. She was married to Roy Salmon for 69 years, and a member of St. Joseph’s for 65 years. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Christine Salmon.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Salmon; four daughters, Jan Salmon, Sandy and husband Larry Bonnville, Lana Booth and Sherryl and husband Rodney Bradley; a son, Drew and wife Michelle Salmon; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Skoruppa
Allee Lurtice Skoruppa, 52, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Mr. Skoruppa was born on June 20, 1952, in George West to Edmond Edward and Annie (Bubenik) Skoruppa. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a biology teacher for the Mathis Independent School District.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Annie Skoruppa; one brother, Edmond John Skoruppa; and one brother-in-law, Robert Gallagher.
Survivors include three brothers, Bill (Peggy) Skoruppa and Raymond Skoruppa of George West and Tom (Thea) Skoruppa of San Marcos; one sister, Helen Skoruppa Gallagher of George West; five nephews, Bryan Skoruppa, Scott Skoruppa, Edmond Skoruppa, Mark Skoruppa and Joshua Skoruppa; and two nieces, Candace and Heather Skoruppa.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Galloway and Sons Funeral Chapel in George West. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Funeral will be held Thursday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. in the St. George Catholic Church with Father Piotr Gajda officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery in George West.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Skoruppa, Scott Skoruppa, Edmond Skoruppa, Mark Skoruppa, Joshua Skoruppa and Steve Owen Arrington.

Clevenger
Billy Gene Clevenger, 75, of Papalote died Monday, April 8, 2002.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Skidmore. The funeral will follow at the same location, with the Rev. Lee Bevly officiating. Interment follows in the Papalote Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brian Comeaux, Ryan Clevenger,  Taylor Clevenger, Kenny Butler, Chris Comeaux, Shane Holland and Michael Balderas.
Mr. Clevenger was born to Charles and Nell (Cox) Clevenger in Hamilton, Mo., on Oct. 20, 1926.
He served in the Army-Air Force and was a medic on transport planes. He married Josephine Dicks on June 11, 1948, in Liberty, Mo. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Skidmore. He retired from his career as a Chevrolet dealership shop foreman 30 years ago. He was a loyal member of the Papalote Volunteer Fire Department until his illness.
Mr. Clevenger is survived by his wife, Josephine, his two daughters, Elina (Larry) Butler of Papalote and Connie (Chris) Comeaux of Pleasanton; two sons, Ronnie Clevenger and Mike (Linda) Clevenger, both of Papalote, eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lavina (Carl) McCrary of Hamilton, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Melvin Edgar, Lyle Dean and Donald Lee Clevenger, and one sister, Lorena J. Mattivi.

Filipp
Allen Filipp, 79, of the Friendship community died Thursday, April 4, 2002.
Visitation was held Saturday at Galloway and Sons Funeral Chapel. The funeral was held Sunday at the same location with the Rev. Vernon Helgren officiating. Burial followed in the Mineral Cemetery.
Mr. Filipp was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Moulton to Jim and Theresia (Roznovsky) Filipp. He married Dorothy Ann Younts in Corpus Christi on Jan. 21, 1949. He had resided in the Friendship community for the past 19 years. He was retired from Southwestern Bell and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Filipp was also a member of SPJST and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Gary A. Filipp of Corpus Christi; a sister, Agnes Culak of Yoakum and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Ed, Bill, Jim, George and Frank Filipp, and his sisters, Della Stary, Theresia Fawcett, Sophie Filipp and Mary Fojtik.

Garza
Gertrudes T. Garza, 78, died Monday, April 8, 2002.
Rosary was recited Tuesday evening at the Treviño Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday (today) at St. James Catholic Church. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers were Danny Loya, Fidencio Garza, Michael Gonzales, Jesus Garza Jr., Mark Segovia and Jesus Garza Sr. Honorary pallbearers were Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline staff, Dr. Alonzo and Dr. Rodriguez.
Mrs. Garza was born in Charlotte on Nov. 15, 1923, to Nicolas and Luisa (Piedra) Tijerina. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Luis Garza, who died in 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Dora (Danny) Loya of Beeville and Dolores (Albert) Segovia of Rockport; five sons, Guadalupe (Esther) Gonzales and Ysa (Shawn) Garza, both of San Antonio, Joe (Tammy) Garza of Oxnard,  Calif., Jesus Garza of Rockport and Fidencio Garza of Beeville; a sister, Margarita Garza of Lytle; a brother, Trinidad Tijerina of San Antonio; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Gipson
Tonie Malone Gipson, 92, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, in San Antonio.
Funeral services were held at Galloway and Sons Funeral Directors chapel Sunday, April 7. Interment followed with graveside services at Glenwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Kenneth Flowers officiating. Pallbearers were Larry Malone, Steve Malone, Dean Williams, Kenneth Tibbs and John Hardin.
Mrs. Gipson was born in Lipan, Palo Pinto County, to Ira Ernest and Lillie (Kirkpatrick) Malone on Feb. 1, 1910. As a toddler, she moved with her family to Papalote. The family later settled in the Orangedale community, where she was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mrs. Gipson was educated in the public schools and graduated from Miss Lucy Morris’ School of Business in Beeville in 1929.
She began her career as a legal secretary to Judge R.L. Cox in Beeville. During World War II, she was employed at a legal firm in Corpus Christi. She married Sam H. Gipson on Dec. 14, 1940, in Corpus Christi. The couple resided in Corpus Christi, Killeen and Beeville, where her husband was instrumental in the construction of military bases. The family resided in Beeville for several years, where their two children were born.
Mrs. Gipson was preceded in death by her husband in 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Hazel Malone and Harper Malone Williams Vinson.
She is survived by her children, James Gipson and Mary Ruth (Kenneth) Tibbs; two sisters, Zaner M. Stokley of The Woodlands and Berna M. Timlin of Houston; two brothers, Edgar Malone of Beeville and Ira E. (Virginia) Malone of Houston; and many nieces and nephews.
