Ruby Lee Fore, 93, of Aransas Pass died Friday, March 29, 2002, here.
A graveside service was held Monday and interment followed at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass.
She was born June 13, 1908, to John and Molly Harvey. She resided in Aransas Pass since 1941 and worked as a seamstress for Tate’s Cleaners for 27 years until the business closed.
Mrs. Fore was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Fore; a son, John C. Fore; and a daughter, Jo Ann Hudson.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (Paul) Sanders of Beeville and Mary Sue (Bobby) Clark of Slaughter, La.; two sisters, Ima White of Houston and “Vee” Doan of Mobile, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes and Crematory in Aransas Pass.
Galindo
Viola Galindo, 86, died Thursday, March 28, 2002. Rosary was recited Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Treviño Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the same location, with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2. Pallbearers were John and Eddie Fulghum, Rick Chapa, David Estrada, Ramsey Gomez and Wes Zavodsky. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Galindo and Coy and Gilbert Estrada.
Mrs. Galindo was born in Beeville Feb. 4, 1916 to Richard Taylor and Francisca Olivarez. She was a housewife and a Catholic.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita (Gilbert) Estrada of Beeville; two sons, Richard (Alicia) Galindo of Corpus Christi and Bobby (Ofelia) Galindo of Beeville; a sister, Inez Govella of Beeville; four grandchildren, David and Coy Estrada, Ricky Galindo and Cindy Bueno and two great-grandchildren, Amber Danielle and Alexis Renee Bueno.
Guerrero
Adela M. Guerrero, 89, of Beeville died Saturday, March 30, 2002.
A rosary was recited Sunday at Treviño Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Special music was provided by Mariachi Amistad. Burial followed at OLV Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers were Abraham Alonzo, Orlando Alonzo, Santiago Saldivar, Jorge Saldivar, Robert Guerrero Jr. and Julian Saldivar Jr.
She was born in Skidmore on Oct. 21, 1912, to Santiago and Lupita (Rodriguez) Moreno. She was a housewife and a Catholic. Mrs. Guerrero was a lifetime member of OLV’s St. Ann’s Society.
Mrs. Guerrero was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Porfiro Guerrero, in 1988.
Survivors include four daughters, Angelita G. Muñoz, Candelaria G. Saldivar and Sobeida G. Cantu, all of Beeville, and Olga G. Alonzo of Alvin; a son, Robert Guerrero of Houston; three sisters, Eloisa Salinas of Donna, Isabel Galviz of Corpus Christi and Maria Vasquez of Wichita Falls; 22 grandchildren; 58 great-granchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Kiker
Mary Frances Kiker died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, in San Antonio. She died 8 months after the death of her husband of 61 years, the Rev. Seaborn Kiker, who was a former pastor of Beeville’s First United Methodist Church.
She was born and raised in Greenville, the first child of Jesse and Maggie Reece. After graduation from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, she worked in Tulsa, Okla., before meeting and marrying her husband, a Methodist seminarian, shortly after his graduation from Duke University in 1940. They served churches in Dallas, the Valley, San Antonio, Austin and other cities besides Beeville, and finally retired in San Antonio.
Mrs. Kiker is survived by a son, Marty Kiker, a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Riley Stone, five grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
Services are at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in San Antonio. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park North.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s UMC or to Morningside Ministries, 700 Babcock Road, San Antonio, TX 78201.

Schell
Dorothy R. Schell, 34, a former resident of Beeville, died Saturday, April 13, 2002, in an Amarillo hospital.
Memorial services were held Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church in Amarillo, with the Rev. Billy Nickle officiating.
Mrs. Schell was born in 1967 to Phillip and Diane Clark. She married her husband, John Schell, here in 1988. She was a phlebotomist and a homemaker.
Mrs. Schell is survived by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Katie Schell; two sisters, Christina King of Liberal, Mo., and Tammy Clark of Beeville; and two brothers, Phillip Clark Jr. of San Antonio and Michael Clark of Cibolo.
Arrangements were by Schooler Funeral Home, Amarillo.
Edmiston
Adele L. Edmiston, 90, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
Mrs. Edmiston was born March 2, 1912, in Yancey to Fritz and Lena (Wiemers) Oefinger. She was the third oldest of eight children. As a young girl she and other sisters worked in the fields picking cotton, hauling hay, cutting maize and stripping cane for the molasses mill owned by her grandma. After graduation, she worked in a restaurant in Pearsall where she met her future husband. She married Elton “Heavy” Edmiston on Aug. 11, 1936, in Yancey. They moved to Crystal City and later to Beeville where her husband was a rancher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Edmiston, in 1982 and her parents.
She is survived by her three sisters, Pearl Ducote, Vera Grimes and Emabel Thompson, all of San Antonio, and several nieces and nephews.

Elliott
Glenna Dunn Elliott, 72, died Sunday, July 14, 2002.
Mrs. Elliott was born in Refugio to Brooks and Mary Claybrook Morrow on Sept. 12, 1930. She is survived by three daughters and three sons: Marylee Wintersteen of Fulshear, John Stanley of Victoria, Andrew Dunn of Woodsboro, Susan Schwartz of Bryson, Elaine Bell Dunn of College Station and Stephen Dunn of Quitman; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Susan Morrow Miller of Wimberley, Nell Morrow Black of San Antonio and Dot Morrow Kidd of Pettus; and one brother, Murray Asher of Pettus.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Darlene Morrow, and one brother, Johnny Morrow.
The funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Jesse Berthold at the Pettus United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Choate Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Fostur Stanley, Jacob Wintersteen, Jacob Schwartz, Brett Wintersteen, Lee Bell, A.J. Dunn and Cameron Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be Christie Brauer, Sarah Schwartz, Alexis Bell, Courtney Dunn, Elizabeth Dunn, Makensie Bell, Matthew Stanley and James Stanley.
Smith
Billy D. Smith, 69, died Sunday, July 14, 2002. Private services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Smith was born on May 22, 1933, in Corpus Christi to Stanley and Agnes (Hass) Smith. He married Peggy Taylor on Nov. 29, 1975, in Mathis. They resided in Skidmore. Mr. Smith was a drilling consultant in the oil business. He worked in oil fields and in underwater welding.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Smith of Skidmore; a sister, Deloria Connell; a brother, Gene R. Smith; and three nieces and their families.

Hartsfield
Claud D. Hartsfield, 83, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at his home in the Macedonia community near Magnolia, Ark.
He was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Village, Ark., to George Franklin and Claudia (Wilson) Hartsfield. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He was retired from Texaco Inc., and its predecessor companies Getty Oil and Tidewater Oil, and as an operator in the Normanna Gas Processing Plant near Beeville.
Mr. Hartsfield was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, attaining the level of 32nd degree Mason. He was active in Boy Scouts of America, serving as board member for several troops in Beeville. He was a founding member of the Bee County Volunteer Ambulance Service, and upon his return to Arkansas was active in the Macedonia Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Mary Ann Hartsfield; three sisters, Thelma Grizzle, Verda Hartsfield and Susie Snider.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Hardy Hartsfield of Macedonia, Ark.; a son, Timothy Hartsfield and wife Yolane of Blue Community, Okla.; two daughters, Terri Holder and husband Bernie of Ector and Tammi Hartsfield of Kerrville; one sister, Mabel Chisholm and husband Sid of Emerson, Ark.; one grandson, Jason Reynolds of Round Rock; five granddaughters, Keleigh and Lindsey Reynolds and Darcy Holder, all of Ector, Diane Alyne of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Melissa King of Los Angeles, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia, Ark., with Brother Jim Sayers and Brother Lyndell Chaffin officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Magnolia. Memorials may be made to Corinth Baptist Church, Rocky Mound Community.
Arrangements were handled through Lewis Funeral Home, Magnolia, Ark.
Sanchez
Daniel G. Sanchez, 78, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002.
He was born in Edroy on Sept. 24, 1923, to Pedro and Nieves (Gomez) Sanchez. He was a truck driver and a Catholic.
He is survived by three sons, Guadalupe Sanchez of Alice, Raul Sanchez of Mathis and Roland Sanchez of Beeville; 26 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services were private.
Bell
John Woodson Bell, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Chapel. The family will be present from 10 a.m. to noon and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Rosary will be recited that evening at 7 o’clock at the same location. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Special music will include “How Great Thou Art,” “In the Garden” and “Here I Am Lord,” with organist Everett McAulay and vocalist Jody Sullivan. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Mr. Bell was born in Beeville on Nov. 1, 1913, to Lewis W. and Lola Catherine (Chapman) Bell. He graduated from Beeville High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Virginia K. DeLeon on July 20, 1938, in Beeville. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years and was a Beeville Little League coach for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a grandchild, John Bell III.
Survivors include two sons, John W. Bell of San Antonio and David P. Bell of Papalote; two daughters, Billye Rose Christopher of Pensacola, Fla., and Mary Ann Mobley of Ingram; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
