Gabriella Lucina Arredondo, 2 months old, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, in Corpus Christi.
Visitation was held Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel. Graveside services were held Friday at 4 p.m. at the Moreno Cemetery in Mineral, with Father Luke Thirunelliparambil officiating.
Gabriella was born in Corpus Christi on Nov. 18, 2004, to Amador Arredondo III and Maricella Villagomez. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
Survivors include her father, Amador Arredondo III; her mother, Maricela Villagomez; her brother, Andrew Matthew Arredondo; her sister, Desirae Brianna Arredondo; her grandparents, Jose Luis Garza Jr. and wife Connie and JoAnn Villagomez and husband Benjamin; her great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cortez and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Guzman, all of Beeville, and Mr. and Mrs. Isidoro Villagomez of Mexico; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chesnutt
Helen Lee Boggs Chesnutt, 88, passed away on Jan. 19, 2005, in Beeville following a short illness.
Mrs. Chesnutt was born July 22, 1916, in Marquez, Leon County, to Eugene and Clara (Weidmier) Boggs. She was first married to Grady Dewveall, who preceded her in death. They had two daughters, Nancy Ann Slade of Houston and Susan Stephens of Fort Worth. She married Fred Chesnutt on July 4, 1970.
She is survived by one brother, Henry Boggs and wife Estelle of Burke; her two daughters; four grandchildren: David Lansing and wife Sandy of Horn Lake, Miss.; Ann King and husband Greg of Pascagoula, Miss., Michael Guinn and wife Cindy of Austin and Suzanne Guinn of Beeville; and five great-grandchildren.
A member of the Episcopal Church and Eastern Star, Mrs. Chesnutt was employed for 22 years in the U.S. Department of Agriculture offices in San Patricio, Bee and Live Oak counties. After retiring from federal service she worked as a secretary for the Fine Arts Department at Bee County College for 18 years.
While working at BCC (now Coastal Bend College), she began taking classes for her personal enjoyment. When she learned that she had nearly enough hours for an associate’s degree, she took the final courses she needed to graduate from BCC in 1987 and claimed the title of “oldest graduate” of the college. She went on to complete a total of 96 credit hours.
She was an active member of the BCC Archaeological Club and accompanied students and instructors on digging projects in Live Oak County, Goliad, Del Rio and Big Bend.
In recent years she served on the Bee County Agriculture Committee for the USDA for three years and was an advisor to that committee for more than five years.
An avid traveler, she made trips with family and friends to Australia, Mexico, Barbados and other Caribbean countries, England and Alaska. Her doll collection included over 100 dolls from many countries of the world.
Visitation will be at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 21, beginning at 5 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Huckman officiating. Music will be provided by Mary Ellen Thoms. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to Coastal Bend College or the American Cancer Society.
Jacobs
Wayne Anthony Jacobs, 60, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at the VA Hospital in San Antonio.
Mr. Jacobs was born in Wharton on Feb. 6, 1944, to Clarence and Ollie (Krouger) Jacobs. A resident of Skidmore, he was a retired truck driver. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy, and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jerry Dooley.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Suiter Jacobs of Skidmore; a daughter, Wynette Jacobs of Alice; a stepdaughter, Cynthia Stone of Utica, N.Y.; a son, Kevin Thompson of Houston; a stepson, Peter West of Oneida, N.Y.; three brothers, Bobby Jacobs of North, David Jacobs of Waxahachie and Ronnie Jacobs of Corpus Christi; a grandson; two granddaughters, Kristie and Victoria Thompson, both of Aransas Pass; and three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home with Brother Lee Bevly officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Skidmore’s Evergreen Cemetery.

Edna Post, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005.
Visitation was held Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the same location with Bill Stockton officiating. Special music was provided by organist Mary Ellen Thoms. Burial followed at the Bar J Ranch in Beeville.
Pallbearers were Bradley Bond, Allen Berthold, Jake Linney, Kyle Mansker, Ronald Hardy and Edward Schrump. Honorary pallbearers were Johnnie Bond, Carl Reupke, Troy Berthold and Johnny Urban.
Mrs. Post was born in Trinidad, Colo., on July 27, 1921, to Elmer and Grace G. (Kiel) Snyder. She was married to Floyd Post, who preceded her in death. She resided in Beeville, and had served as the postal clerk in Berclair for 21 years. She was also a credit manager for Montgomery Ward in Las Vegas, N.M. She was a member of the Ladies Auxilliary of the AFL/CIO.
Survivors include her brother, Elmer Snyder Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Linda Blackburn of Berclair; and a grandson, John Lewis Blackburn of Waco.

Mr. Allen
Alvin A. Allen, 72, of Pawnee died on Wednesday, July 12, 2006.
He was born on July 6, 1934, in Corpus Christi to Beulah Page and Homer Lee Allen. He was married to his wife, Patricia, on Nov. 10, 1962, in Ingleside. He was a retired carpenter and painter.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donnie Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Allen of Pawnee; one daughter, Margaret (Shawn) McCulloch of Las Vegas, Nev.; and one son, John (Debbie) Allen of Rockport; many cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Eckols Funeral Home Chapel in Kenedy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or the South Texas Children’s Home.

Mr. Hilton
Billy J. Hilton, 63, of Beeville, died on Tuesday, July 11, 2006.
He was born on April 13, 1943, in Jacksonville to Leona Odom and Doyle Reagan Hilton. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. On March 28, 1977, he married Remedios Rosales in the Philippines. Mr. Hilton was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Remy Hilton of Beeville; one son, William Hilton of Japan; one daughter, Connie McElwain of Beeville; one grandson, Ransom McElwain, also of Beeville; and one brother, Kenneth Hilton of Jacksonville.
Visitation was to be held on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held there at 11 a.m. today (Saturday) with Chaplain John Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

Infant Sheelar
Rebekah Lea Sheelar, 4 months old, of Beeville, died on Thursday, July 13, 2006.
She was born on March 2, 2006, in Beeville to Susan Mae Garcia and Aaron Kyle Sheelar. She was a Catholic.
Rebekah is survived by her parents, Aaron and Susan Sheelar of Beeville; one brother, Aaron Kyle Sheelar Jr., also of Beeville; paternal grandparents, Roberta Sheelar of College Station and John Sheelar of George West; maternal grandparents, Lori Garcia of Beeville and Thomas Garcia of Tilden; paternal great-grandmother, Lavern Sheelar of George West; paternal great-great-grandmother, Edna Williams of New Braunfels; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held today (Saturday) from 3:30 to 4 p.m. at Lebanon Cemetery in Cadiz. Graveside services will be held there at 4 p.m. with burial to follow.

Mrs. Tanguma
Eufemia Garza Tanguma, 90, of Three Rivers died on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, in George West.
She was born on Nov. 4, 1915, in La Vernia to Barbarita Silva and Catarino Garza. On Dec. 15, 1951, she married Jose G. Tanguma in Three Rivers. She was a Catholic and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sons, Cesario and Lupe Tanguma.
Mrs. Tanguma is survived by six sons, Joe Tanguma and wife Estella of Three Rivers, Juan Tanguma and wife Yolanda of Grand Prairie, Louis Tanguma and wife Oralia and Mike Tanguma and wife Martina, both of Victoria, and Frank Tanguma and wife Janie and Manuel Tanguma and wife Julia, both of George West; one daughter, Rosa T. Gutierrez and husband Guadalupe of Pasadena; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be held on Friday from 1 to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers, with rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Father Piotr Gajda officiating. Mr. Matocha
Paul B. Matocha Jr., 71, of Beeville died on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006.
He was born on Aug. 21, 1935, in Beeville to Emilie Hrdina Matocha and Paul Benjamin Matocha. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Texas A&I University and then attended Texas A&M University where he earned his master’s degree in soil chemistry. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a former employee of Gary Pogue Seed Company and worked as a researcher in a sorghum disease nursery. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a member of St. Joseph’s Rosary Society.
Survivors include three brothers, Joe Jerry Matocha of Sinton, John Edward Matocha of Corpus Christi and George Leslie Matocha of Beeville; two nieces; seven nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation was held Thursday from 1-9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Rosary was recited there at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating, assisted by Fathers Eddie Garcia and Stephen Doughtery. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Dr. John Bremer, Frank Cuevas, Robert Drees, Matthew Matocha, Dr. Mark Matocha and Robert Wingenter. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Leo McGuill, Freddy Schauer III, Leo Strauch and Lucas Reyes.

Mrs. Medina
Maria H. Medina, 98, of Rockport and formerly of Beeville, died on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, in an Aransas Pass hospital.
She was born on Oct. 30, 1907, in Beeville to Marcela Soliz and Arnoldo Hinojosa. She was a housekeeper and was a Catholic.
Mrs. Medina was preceded in death by her husband, Ysidro Medina; one daughter, Dora M. Aleman; one son, Enrique H. Medina; two granddaughters, Elsa Aleman and Patricia Medina; and one grandson, Juan Carlos Saenz.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Louise (Lucio) Saenz, and one son, Erasmo “Eddie” (Corina) Medina, both of Rockport; two sisters, Otilia Ponce and Natividad Rodriguez, both of Beeville; two brothers, Arnoldo “Lon” Hinojosa of Beeville and Jesus Hinojosa of California; one son-in-law, Robert Aleman of Rockport; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Ralph Aleman, Gerardo Medina, Robert Aleman, Eduardo Medina, Lucio Saenz and Pedro Medina.
