Carlson
Myron Carlson, 83, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004.
He was born on July 14, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was raised in Chicago, Ill., and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Naval Air Force. He was a farmer and carpenter, specializing in cabinet building. Mr. Carlson was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tynan and served on the church council.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen, of Tynan; two sons, Dennis (Cathy) Carlson of Tynan and Russell (Lynn) Carlson of Houston; and three grandchildren, Garrett and Amber of Houston and Tracy of Tynan.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Dobie Funeral Home chapel in Mathis, with William Spreen, SAM, officiating. Interment followed in Tynan’s Waldheim Cemetery. Pallbearers were H.H. Laechelin, Norman Jostes, Ervin Landgrebe, Michael Stridde, Howard Salge and Delroy Winsauer.

Reader
Doris Reader, 84, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in a Beeville nursing home.
She was born on Dec. 21, 1920, to George B. Wied Sr. and Dora Ehlers Wied. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Runge, where she served on the church council for many years. She graduated from Cuero High School in 1938 and attended Texas Lutheran College in Seguin before earning a bachelor of science degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. She married William C. Reader after he returned from the Korean War on Dec. 21, 1952.
Mrs. Reader was a homemaker, but also had an active professional career. She was a property accountant at Hondo Army Air Base during World War II, and became a bookkeeper in the medical field. She was a business teacher at Runge High School, producing a number of UIL state champions and runners-up during a span of 25 years. She was active in her community’s civic organizations, such as Eastern Star, Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, VFW Auxiliary and Birthday Club. She served 10 years on the board of regents at Texas Lutheran University.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt and uncle, Hugo and Natalia Gohlke.
She is survived by her husband, William C. Reader; her daughter, Ann Richmond and husband Chuck of Beeville; three granddaughters, Jessica, Lauren and Mikala Richmond; and a brother, George Wied Jr. of San Antonio.
The family received friends at Eckols Funeral Home chapel in Kenedy on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the same location with Dr. Harold Sager and the Rev. R.C. Jeanes officiating.
Pallbearers were Milton Slaughter, Jim Fox, Jim and Tommy Natho, Paul Bordovsky, Kenneth Foster, Tobe Ricks and Marvin Schorre. Honorary pallbearers were all members of the Kenedy Rotary Club, Roy Freeman, Dalton Metting, Dr. Jon Moline, Floyd Lott, Barbara Bily and Mary Stutler.

Villa
Alejandra Villa, 81, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at a local nursing home.
Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis, with Father Jose Salazar officiating. Burial followed in Descanso Eterno Cemetery No. 2 in Mathis.
Mrs. Villa was born in Yorktown on June 14, 1923, to Jose and Maria (Guajardo) Huerta. She was a Beeville resident, a housewife and a Catholic. She was preceded in death by her husband, Teodoro Villa, who died on Oct. 5, 1987.
Survivors include her daughters, Elodia (Benny) Lopez and Gloria (Eden) Serrano, both of Beeville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Miss Delgado
Yvonne H. Delgado, 19, of Mathis died on Saturday, July 15, 2006.
She was born on Nov. 21, 1986, in Corpus Christi to Sandra and Ivan Delgado. She was a student.
Miss Delgado was preceded in death by her mother and paternal grandfather.
Survivors include her father, Ivan Delgado of Mathis; three sisters, Melody (Adam) Morales of Beeville, Nicole (Scott) Treviño and April (Mario) Salinas, all of Mathis; maternal grandparents, Alvino and Elicia Garcia of Mathis; and paternal grandmother, Paula Delgado, also of Mathis.
A rosary was recited on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home chapel in Mathis. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis. Interment followed at Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis.

Mr. Duncan
Joseph Harold Duncan, 36, of Pasadena died on Sunday, July 9, 2006, at Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena.
He was born on Jan. 30, 1970, to Lynda and Tad Duncan. He was a restaurant manager and a 1988 graduate of A.C. Jones High School.
Survivors include his fianceé, Jessie Reiland of Pasadena; two sisters, Jenny Hale and husband Matt of Waco, and Amy Hartman and husband Trey of Seguin; two nephews, Matthew Duncan Hale and Colby Joseph Hale of Waco; his parents, Tad and Lynda Duncan of Hillsboro; and his grandmothers, Mrs. Rosie Patranella and Mrs. Ethel Duncan, both of Bryan.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 13, at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Bryan.

Mrs. Gomez
Estella A. Gomez, 68, of Beeville died on Sunday, July 16, 2006.
She was born on March 22, 1938, in Taft to Maria Nava and Marcos Adamez. She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
Mrs. Gomez was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Eva Adamez Gomez and Louisa Adamez Salazar.
She is survived by her husband, Jesus Gomez of Beeville; six children, Janie Puente and husband Martin of Houston, Jesus Gomez Jr. and wife Linda, Maria A. Gomez and Emilio Gomez, all of Beeville, Cynthia Moreno of San Antonio and Gerardo Gomez Sr. and wife Mona of Normanna; 15 grandchildren, Irene Clark, Stephanie Puente, Martin Puente Jr., Rosanna Alvarez, Angela Moreno, Armando Moreno, Andrea Peinado, Jesus Garza, Daniel Gomez, Lori Gomez, Mary Gomez, Amanda Lee Gomez, Edwin Gomez Rhodes, Gerardo Gomez Jr. and Emileigh Gomez; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Rosary was recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home by Life in the Spirit. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Special music was provided by Fernando Cisneros and Rosie Maldonado. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.

Frank R. Gonzalez, 59, of Beeville died on Friday, July 14, 2006, in China, Texas.
He was born on Jan. 7, 1947, in Pettus to Juanita and Pablo Gonzalez. He was a truck driver for First American Vacuum Services.
Mr. Gonzalez was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Pablo Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife, Audelia Cano Gonzalez of Beeville; one daughter, Leticia Gonzalez of Corpus Christi; four sons, Robert (April) Gonzalez, Lupe Gonzalez and Jaime (Miranda) Gonzalez, all of Beeville and Johnny, (Isabel) Gonzalez of San Antonio; one sister, Francisca Rodriguez of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Jones
Jimmie N. Jones Jr., 73, of Swinney Switch died on Saturday, July 15, 2006.
He was born on Feb. 23, 1933, in Live Oak County to Lucy Huckabee and Jimmie Newton Jones. On Jan. 10, 1953, he married Mary Peter in Beeville. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was a farmer and rancher. Mr. Jones served as Precinct 3 Constable in Live Oak County for 13 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Jones of Swinney Switch; one son, Jimmie E. Jones of Dinero; one daughter, Nicole Lansford of Swinney Switch; one sister, Mary Lou Whitworth of San Angelo; and five grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating.

Mrs. Polozeck
Lillie (Lill) Schultz Polozeck, 83, of Wimberley, formerly of Beeville, died on Monday, July 17, 2006, in Austin, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Cost to Emma (Muelker) and Willie Schultz. Lill married Jim Polozeck on Aug. 2, 1940, in Brownsville.
Mrs. Polozeck was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Muelker Schultz and Willie Schultz; and two brothers, Pete Schultz of Corpus Christi and Paul Schultz of Monteola.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jim Polozeck of Austin; one sister, JoAnn McMahan and husband Harold of Beeville; one brother, Fred Schultz of Kenedy; two sons, Jim D. Polozeck and wife Jay of Bedford, and Larry C. Polozeck and wife Sylvia of Austin; and one daughter, Rita Hodde and husband Larry of Pflugerville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Polezeck was a volunteer to the Altar Society for many years in Beeville at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and then in Wimberley at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
A funeral mass will be held in Wimberley at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. with burial immediately following in the church cemetery .
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the National Parkinson’s Foundation, or the church or charity of your choice.

Mrs. Rooke
Mary Nell Rooke, 78, of Woodsboro died on Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Refugio Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1927, to Nell and Charles Tollett.
Mrs. Rooke was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Rooke III, and her parents.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Rooke of Woodsboro; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Joan Kunitz of Sinton.
Rosary was recited at the Moore Funeral Home chapel in Refugio at 7 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Therese Catholic Church in Woodsboro at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Refugio.
Pallbearers were Sheldon Wiginton, Earl Petropoulos, Ronnie Williams, Leonard Piland, T. Michael O’Connor and Lee Riemenschneider. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Woodsboro Volunteer Fire Department.
