Wolff
Lula May Wolff, 83, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002.
She was born on May 4, 1919, to Louis Henry and Clara (Stroh) Buehring. She grew up in the New Bremen community near Karnes City. She was a Southwestern Bell Telephone Company employee for 38 years, earning many awards for excellence and attendance. She retired in 1983 as plant assigner after working as operator, service assistant, local manual observer, directory assistant, toll operator and group chief in Beeville, Cuero and Corpus Christi.
She was active in her church and community. She was a talented artist with oils and needlework and loved to garden and landscape.
She was a charter member of Cuero Pilot Club and Cuero Nurses Auxiliary. She was a Girl Scout leader and member of Camp Fire Girls board of directors. She was a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneers and served as the San Antonio Council secretary and treasurer.
Mrs. Wolff was preceded in death by her husband, Horace M. Wolff; her parents; her brothers, Louis Jr. (Alice), Edgar, Eldor (Elnora), Elmore, Harold (Lorene), Hugo (Jean), Marvin and Allen Buehring; and one sister, Lillie Buehring.
She is survived by her brothers, Hilbert (Willie Mae) Buehring of Karnes City, Henry Buehring of Victoria, Leo (Leona) Buehring of Runge, Monroe (Alice) Buehring of Lynnwood, Wash., Albert Buehring of San Antonio, Normie (Carol) Buehring of Tupelo, Miss., and Werner (Doris) Buehring of Giddings; her sisters, Elnora Erler of Beeville and Mary Ann (Bill) Studemann of Oklahoma.
Visitation was scheduled to be held Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. The family received visitors from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held today (Saturday) at 1 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Beeville, with the Revs. Jeff Thompson and Don Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Harvey, Ralph, Robert Louis, Jerry, Velmon and David Buehring, Rocky Kopplin and Leroy Wolff. Honorary pallbearers are all of her nieces and nephews.

Henry
Lena Fay Henry, 56, was called into the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003. She was born on Aug. 29, 1946, in San Antonio. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her father, Maxie Walker. She was a homemaker and a devoted Baptist.
She is survived by her mother, Leloa Brumley of Portland, Ore.; a son, William Cloud of Smithville; four daughters, Rebecca Ruiz of Aransas Pass, Jessica Soren of Bakersfield, Calif., and Maxina Fox and Pauletta Gomez, both of Beeville; two brothers, Kelly Walker of San Antonio and Ottis Brumley of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Teresa Brumley of Portland, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at 4 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home with Eucharistic Minister John Adam Treviño officiating.
Family members will be receiving friends from 3 p.m. until service time at Treviño Funeral Home chapel.

Jasso
Francisco M. Jasso Jr., 60, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Visitation was held Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the same location. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Cody Hernandez, Joe Anthony Jasso, Belinda Jasso, Edward Holland and David Elizalde.
Mr. Jasso was born on May 1, 1942, in Beeville, to Francisco and Paula (Martinez) Jasso. He was a heavy equipment operator for Allen Dunn Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jimmy Jasso.
Mr. Jasso is survived by four sons, Francisco M. Jasso III, Joe Richard Jasso and Pete Jasso, all of Beeville, and Joe Anthony Jasso of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Belinda Ann Jasso of Nevada and Paula Marie Jasso of Beeville; a grandson, Cody Anthony Hernandez of Beeville, and 15 other grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, David Jasso of Beeville; four sisters, Ernestina Nixon, Concha Landman and Tina Campbell, all of Corpus Christi, and Frances Sierra of Houston.

Morgan
Curtis Ray Morgan, 57, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at the Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Mississippi due to complications following a stroke.
Mr. Morgan was a resident of the South Texas Children’s Home in his youth. He attended Pettus High School and was a member of the Eagle football team. Later on he joined the Marine Corps.
Mr. Morgan is survived by three sisters, Jane Edwards of Ocean Spring, Miss., Lois Morgan Struble of Pine Island, N.Y., and Martha Morgan Syrett of Beeville; four nieces, Rhonda Arkeson of North Carolina, Lisa Rackley of Biloxi, Miss., and Kelly Rodriguez and Steph Struble, both of Pine Island, N.Y.; a nephew, Daniel Syrett of Beeville; a special friend, Douglas Tilley of San Antonio; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
A memorial service is being planned for Saturday at 1 p.m. at the South Texas Children’s Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Texas Children’s Home.

Price
William Brooke Price, 89, of Tuleta died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville following a long illness.
He was born on Feb. 12, 1913, in Jacksonville, N.C., to William Brooke and Anne Murrill Price. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jane Price and Hathaway Price. He was a cowboy and an electrician.
Mr. Price was survived by his friends in Tuleta, Pettus, Beeville, Three Rivers and Boerne. He was cremated and his ashes will be taken to Jacksonville, N.C.
Arrangements were handled through Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
Sanchez
Elvira Orozco Sanchez, 53, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Graveside services were held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Beeville Memorial Park.
Ms. Sanchez was born on May 28, 1949, in Beeville, to Pedro Rodriguez Sanchez and Aurora Orozco Sanchez. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Anita Aranas, who died in 2001.
Survivors include her daughter and son, Agar A. Sanchez and Carlos Sanchez, both of Beeville; three brothers, Ray and John Sanchez, both of Beeville, and Pedro Sanchez of Dallas; four sisters, Esther and Leticia Sanchez, Alicia Velasquez and Patricia S. Zavala, all of Dallas; and two grandchildren.

Manley
Robert F. Manley, 80, died at his home in Chanute, Kan., on Wednesday, March 5, 2003.
Mr. Manley was born on July 21, 1922, in Chanute to Fred and Myrtle Manley. A lifelong Chanute resident, he had been a prominent businessman for many years. Mr. Manley, his two brothers and one sister owned and operated Manley Transfer Company, a truck transport firm that operated in several Midwest states.
He was the president and chairman of the board of Manley Industries, Inc., which owned Manley Truck Line, Manley Steel Company, Missouri-Kansas Leasing, Manley Car and Truck Plaza and Manley Restaurants. He served on the board of directors of the Bank of Commerce and the Chanute Country Club. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served his country in the Army as a sergeant major in World War II. He was a former member of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Manley was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, boating and gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He married Jeanette Parks on Dec. 2, 1943, who survives him. Other survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Mary Manley of Chanute; daughter and son-in-law, Janis and David Moore of Beeville; five grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Caldwell; a brother, Gene Manley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Manley.
Funeral services will be held today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute with the Rev. Larry Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Patrick School Building Fund or the United Methodist Youth Group.
Arrangements were handled through Johnson Mortuary, Chanute, Kan.
Pursel
Sean Pursel, 35, of Alamogordo, N.M., and formerly of Beeville, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Pursel was born Jan. 3, 1968, in Bethesda, Md. A resident of Alamogordo for three years, he was a carpenter with Bar M Construction.
Survivors include his wife, Toni Pursel; four children, Sarah, Dan, Emily and John Pursel, all of Alamogordo; his mother, Amy Pursel of Concho, Ariz.; three brothers, John Pursel and wife Roxanna of Holland, Ohio, Mark Pursel and wife Coralena of Lancaster, Penn., and Lans Pursel of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Pursel, and by a brother, Paul DeBinder.
A memorial service was conducted on Thursday at 5 p.m. in the Hamilton-O’Dell Funeral Home chapel with friends and family officiating. Following cremation, inurnment will be in Monte Vista Cemetery.

Almendarez
Justa Cerda Almendarez, 89, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, in Spring Season Nursing Home.
Rosary was recited Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Skidmore’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Paul Rajareegam officiating. Burial followed in Skidmore’s Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Genaro Arismendez Jr., Freddy Arismendez, Agapito Rios Jr., Danny Rios, Carmen Rios-Gil, Adel A. Wimbish, Alice A. Lara and Nelda A. Naranjo.
Honorary pallbearers were Bianca Hernandez, Nieves Garza Jr., Thomas Arismendez Jr., Andrea Mireles, Angie Wolf, Adel-Alyssa Arismendez, Alma A. Gonzales, Anita A. Ramirez and Sandra A. Alvarado.
Mrs. Almendarez was born on Aug. 9, 1914, in Pinos Zacatecas, Mexico, to Genaro and Francisca (Buendia) Cerda. She had resided in Skidmore most of her life. She was a housewife and a member of Immaculate Conception Church, where she belonged to the Women’s Altar Society, Las Cursillistas and the Immaculate Conception Council. She was involved in helping the community in many projects.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carlos M. Almendarez (who died on Jan. 24, 2003).
Survivors include her daughters, Felipa Garza and Justa (Agapito Sr.) Rios, both of San Antonio; her sons, Mando-Alexx Almendarez, Genaro (Delia) Arismendez and Tomas Arismendez Sr., all of Skidmore; a brother, Timoteo (Virginia) Ybarra of Sinton; three sisters, Manuela (Tanislado) Castillo of Sinton, Nina Orta of Taft and Juanita (Juan) Gonzalez of Houston; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
