Mrs. Muñoz
Juanita Muñoz, 81, of Beeville died on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at her home.
She was born on June 24, 1925, in Mercedes to Paula and Julian Guerrero. Mrs. Muñoz was self-employed as a caregiver, baby-sitter, Avon sales lady and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Muñoz Sr.; her parents; one sister, Jesusita Guerrero; two brothers, Marcelino and Ventura Guerrero; and one son-in-law, Fernando Muñoz.
Survivors include eight daughters, Carmela, Janie, Maria De Jesus and Alma Muñoz, Maricela (Arturo) Hallare, Connie (Calvin) Martwick and Rosario (Trino) Salazar, all of Beeville, and Maria (Ramon) Ruiz of George West; four sons, Pablo (Anita) Muñoz Jr. of San Antonio, Luis Muñoz of Miami, Fla., Cesear Muñoz of Corpus Christi and Julian Muñoz of Beeville; one sister, Julia (Lupe) Loya of Beeville; 24 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Rosary was to be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was to be celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Saturday) at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Balaswamy Pasala and Rev. Gabriel Otto officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers will be Arturo Hallare, Daniel Hallare, Bryan Contreras, Trino Salazar, Mike Ruiz, John Paul Salazar, Ralph Contreras, Patrick Muñoz and Raymond Valdez. Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Aguirre, John Paul Muñoz, John Yzaguirre and Ruben Montez.

Mr. Vasquez
Julian Vasquez Sr., 98, of Beeville died on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Beeville Regional Nursing Home.
He was born on June 19, 1908, in Refugio to Virginia Martinez and Martin Vasquez. He was a retired farm laborer.
Mr. Vasquez was preceded in death by his wife, Margarita Quintanilla Vasquez; his parents; two sisters, Lupe Hernandez and Sofia Vasquez; and four brothers, Martin, Manuel, Narciso and Bonefacio Vasquez.
He is survived by three sons, Julian (Alicia) Vasquez Jr. of Victoria, Juan (Lupe) Vasquez of Lubbock, and Roberto (Maria) Jimenez of Beeville; one sister, Lucia Vasquez of Beeville; 23 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Samuel Moses Barrera, 50, of Beeville, died on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, in San Antonio.
He was born on Feb. 2, 1956, in Beeville to Estefana Garcia Barrera and Eugenio Barrera. He was a butcher at a meat market.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Carman Barrera of Beeville; one daughter, Sarah Barrera of San Antonio; two sons, Nicholas Barrera of Austin and Samuel Moses Barrera Jr. of San Antonio; two sisters, Christine Ruano of Thrall and Stephanie Barrera Lopez of Rockdale; one brother, Pete Barrera of Rockdale; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was to be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Treviño Funeral Home with Rev. Norris Jackson officiating. A private burial will follow.

Lora McBrayer Tergerson Broadhurst, 87, of San Antonio died on Monday, Sept. 25, 2006.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1918, in Cranfills Gap. She was a member of the Lutheran church. She worked as an independent insurance agent and real estate broker. She was also a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, a member and past president of St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary, and past state president of Business and Professional Women’s Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Cecil McBrayer; her second husband, John Broadhurst; her son, Michael McBrayer; her daughter, Amy Tiller; four sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include one son, Richard McBrayer and wife Kay of Beeville; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services were to be held there at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) with Pastor William Spreen officiating. Graveside services will take place at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas on Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bill Metting officiating.

Cynthia Correa, 36, of Bay City, died on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at her residence.
She was born on June 15, 1970, in Beeville to Maria De Los Angeles Andaverde Gaston and Jerry Birmingham. She was Pentecostal and a welder.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Amber Lynn Correa, in 1986, and one sister, Lydia Munguia.
Survivors include her husband, Jorge Correa of Bay City; her mother and father; her stepmother, Jimmie L. Birmingham of Lake Jackson; her stepfather, Walter Pickerell of Angleton; one son, Jorge Correa Jr. of Bay City; one sister, Christina Marie Perales of Beeville; one half-sister, Deanna Marie (Paul) Rhodes of Clear Lake; two half-brothers, David Wayne Sargent of Clear Lake, and Bryan Keith (Jania) Birmingham of Anchorage, Alaska; three nephews, Benjamin and Brandon Birmingham of Anchorage, Alaska, and Paul Rhodes V of Clear Lake.
A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Friday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Iglesia Pentecostes, Monte Del Olivar. Interment followed at Evangelico Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johnny Montemayor, Richie Gaitan, Matt Sauser, Oscar Arredondo, Michael Perales and Brandon Rogers.

Mr. Garcia
Lupe N. Garcia, 73, of Beeville died on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, in a Corpus Christi hospital.
He was born on Feb. 16, 1933, in Beeville to Maria Nino and Lawrence Garcia. On May 20, 1956, he married Juanita Gonzales Garcia in Beeville. He was a member of the U.S. and a member of the American G.I. Forum. He was self-employed as a barber and a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Gonzales Garcia of Beeville; two sons, Lupe (Lena) Garcia Jr. and Ralph (Rebecca) Garcia, both of Beeville; three brothers, Lorenzo Garcia and Lawrence Garcia Jr., both of Beeville, and Andy Garcia of Austin; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A rosary was recited on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Eddie Garcia officiating. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park with full military honors.
Pallbearers were Roel Garcia, Andy Garcia, Lawrence Garcia, Lupe Garcia III, Omar Martinez and Frank Castillo. Honorary pallbearer was Ben Sierra.

Santiago Sandoval Silva, 70, died on Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, in a local hospital.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1935, in Los Fresnos to Guadalupe Sandoval and Juventino Silva. He was a foreman at Canales Dairy Farm for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frank and Santiago Silva; and one sister, Connie DeLeon.
Survivors from Beeville include his wife, Paula Silva; three stepsons, George (Melissa) Ramos, Edgar Ramos and Genaro Ramos; two stepdaughters, Jisela Ramos and Hilary Ramos; nine brothers, José Pena and Mike (Leonor) Silva, Ismael (Amelia) Silva, Raul Silva, William Silva and Robert (Connie) Silva, all of Beeville, Arnolfo (Cleotilde) Silva and Ermilio (Elvira) Silva, both of Minnesota, and Rudy (Elena) Silva of Austin; five sisters, Mary Allen, Marcela Cantu and Ofelia Ornelas, all of Austin, Sarah Ramos of Aransas Pass and Olivia Silva of Beeville.
Funeral services will be private.

Manuel F. Vargas, 86, died on Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, in Lamesa.
He was born in Karnes County to Herminia and Martin Vargas on Oct. 10, 1919. He married Anita Liscano on Jan. 24, 1937, in Karnes County. They moved to Lamesa in 1947, where he retired as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church for many years.
He was preceded in death by one son, Felipe Vargas in April 1981; and three brothers, Pedro Vargas, Ramiro Vargas and Martin Vargas Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Vargas of Lamesa; three sons, Raymond Vargas of Lamesa, Ruben Vargas of Midland and Martin Vargas of Weatherford; five daughters, Rosa Martinez of Alvarado, Lydia O’Neal of Sweetwater, Ann Medina, Anita Carrion and Yolanda Flores, all of Lamesa; three brothers, P.J. Vargas of Converse, Wale (Guadalupe) Vargas and Adam Vargas, both of San Antonio; five sisters, Eva Trevino and Effa Alvarado, both of Beeville, Teresa Baltazar of Riverside, Calif., Bruna Garcia of California and Ninfa Gomez of Houston; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Branon Funeral Home Chapel in Lamesa. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Rudy Crasta officiating. Interment was at Dawson County Cemetery.

Rolando J. Zepeda Sr., 57, of Inez died on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, in Houston.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1948, in Beeville to Adelaida Delgado Cano and Sijifredo Zepeda. He was a former employee of the Victoria Advocate. Mr. Zepeda was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his custodial mother, Luisa Delgado.
Survivors include his wife, Alicia Garza Zepeda of Inez; one daughter, Pamela Stelle of Victoria; one son, Roland Zepeda Jr. of Port Lavaca; three sisters, Brenda Cano and Emelda Lopez, both of California, and Adelaida Rodriguez of Washington; six brothers, Joseph and Jerry Cano, both of Beeville, Johnny, Felix, Lee and Beto Cano, all of California; and two grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Artero Memorial Chapels in Victoria and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Inez. Rosary was recited at the chapel at 7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Pallbearers were Joseph Cano, Jerry Cano, Johnny Cano, Ricardo Garza, Ernesto Garza, Cirildo Garza Jr., Ruben Garza and Felix Cano.
Arrangements were by Artero Memorial Chapels in Victoria.
Mr. Davis
Eldo Earl Davis passed away Dec. 28, 2006.
He was born March 26, 1923, to Eldo Earl and Anna Davis in Lyon, Kansas. The Davis family moved from Kansas to Texas in 1925 and resided outside of Pettus. He attended school in Pettus and Beeville. In 1950, he married Billie Rae Archer of Kenedy, Texas. Eldo joined the U.S. Army in 1943 and served through the end of World War II in Germany where he was honorably discharged. He returned to South Texas to ranch in Bee County, while residing in Kenedy and Portland. In 1968, he moved his family to Beeville where they became the proprietors of “The Dixie Cream Donut Shop.” He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and a 40-year member of the First United Methodist Church of Beeville. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and served as a director from 1973-76. He was also a 30-year member of the Navy League. Eldo loved the outdoors adn his passions were his ranch, the cattle and entertaining family and friends on afternoon dove hunts. Eldo was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend. One of his yearly highlights was entertaining his four granddaughters every summer vacation in Beeville where thy always returned home with a new pair of shiny red boots.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Billie Rae Archer Davis; his parents, Eldo Earl and Anna Davis; brothers, Franklin and Cecil Davis; and a sister, Dorothy Davis.
He is survived by his oldest son, David Earl Davis and wife Susan of Houston, son Ray Archer Davis of Corpus Christi; and grandchildren Haley Marie Davis, Melissa Rae Davis, Carolyn Frances Davis and Julia Archer Davis; and a sister, Clara Ann Warfield and her husband, Bill, of Seguin.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, from 12 noon to 7 p.m. at the Galloway & Sons Funeral Home, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at First United Methodist Church, Beeville. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearerswill be Ken Harvey Jr., James McCord, Sid Elder, Reggie Elder, King Fuller, Clay Conoly, Kenny Turner and Ted Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Fuller, Ken Turner, Zephe Pease, Frank Gonzales, John Snyder, Leonard Jones, Kenneth Harvey, Harry Reid, John Hester, Fred Latcham, and Ralph Zuniga.
The family has suggested memorials to the First United Methodist Church or M.D. Anderson Hospital.
