Amber Joann Willow, 66, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at her residence.
Rosary will be recited Friday at 7 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Mrs. Willow will be cremated.
She was born on Dec. 14, 1936, in Detroit, Mich., to Samuel and Aura (Toman) Wixsom. She was married to Richard Henry Willow. She resided in Beeville and had worked as an inspector for an auto parts manufacturer.
Survivors include her sons, Michael R. Willow of Beeville and William Henry Willow of Detroit, Mich.; a daughter, Cathy Jean Thibodeau of Chesterfield, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

Cobb
Grover L. “Wayne” Cobb, 70, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jesse Berthold officiating.
Mr. Cobb was born on Aug. 5, 1933, in Blue, Okla., to Grover Lee and Billye Edith (Greer) Cobb. He served in the U.S. Navy in the early 1950s. He married Mary Ellen Stanton on Aug. 25, 1959, in Corpus Christi. He was a Beeville resident and the owner/operator of United Roofing.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Don and Douglas Cobb.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Cobb of Beeville; a son, Gary (Linda) Cobb of Rockport; two daughters, Cheryl Green (Ira Reeves) of Corpus Christi and Debra (James) Gordon of Beeville; his mother, Billye Edith Cobb of Corpus Christi; his sisters, Kaye Spencer of Gainesville and Brenda Hudgens of Corpus Christi; his brother, Bill Cobb of Odem; eight grandchildren, Lloyd, Brian, Gabrielle, Eric, Daniel, Cassie, Joseph and Pamela; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Garner
David Jonathan Garner, 72, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003.
Visitation was held Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the same location, with Pastor Ben Drewry officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Henry Garett, Ralph Keill, Jim Chaney, Mike Benefiel, Juan Montiel and Jason Chaney. Jim Kenney was an honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Garner was born on July 18, 1931, in Tulsa, Okla., to Aubrey Lincoln and Nettie (Page) Garner. He was retired from the U.S. Navy. He married Opaleen Helen Garner on July 27, 1948, in San Jose, Calif. She preceded him in death on Feb. 23, 1998.
He was a member of Maranatha Church of God, and had been formally employed as an X-ray technician at the local hospital. He worked at Commercial National Bank for several years. His hobbies were CB radios, repairing radios, church mission trips to Mexico and performing music in church.
Survivors include his four sons, David R. Garner and wife Linda of Manassas, Va., Charles L. Garner of Rosharon, Mark S. Garner and wife Karen of Austin, and Steven J. Garner of Corpus Christi; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Louis Alden Grelling, 59, died at his home in Destin, Fla., on Dec. 28, 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Terry; two sons, Louis Grelling IV of Oxford, Miss., and Boren Edward Grelling of Destin, Fla.; his daughter, Mae Ann Grelling of Destin, Fla.; and sister, Mary John Spence of Tyler.
Kirby
Arthur F. Kirby, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, in a Corpus Christi hospital.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a truck driver and a Beeville resident.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at 18584 CR 1168 in Edroy.
Survivors include two daughters, Dora Cozart of Edroy and Jean Massaro of Beeville; three sons, John Kirby of Houston, Michael Kirby of Edroy and Joseph Kirby of Beeville; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled through Guardian Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Corpus Christi.

Tomasita (Tommie) Arredondo Maldonado, 47, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 4 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Cantu, Carlos Garcia, Audelia Marie Cantu, Porfirio Cantu Jr., Pedro Maldonado Sr. and Reynaldo Maldonado Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Arredondo, Ali Arispe, Porfirio Cantu Sr., Elizar Martinez, Jacob Arispe, A.J. Arispe, Eric Martinez, Leticia Martinez, Bonnie Cantu, Crystal Cantu and Rose Mary Burns.
Mrs. Maldonado was born on Jan. 15, 1956, in Beeville to Margarito and Romana Arredondo. She was a member of St. James and a cashier associate at Church’s Fried Chicken. She enjoyed dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Margarito Arredondo Jr.; a sister, Sophia Arredondo; and a nephew, Alfredo Arredondo Jr., all of Beeville.
Survivors include her former husband, Ricardo Maldonado Sr.; three daughters, Maria I. Arispe and husband Ali R., Rosalinda A. Maldonado and Romana (Romie) A. Maldonado; a son, Ricardo (Ricky) Maldonado Jr.; a brother, Alfredo Arredondo Sr. and wife Minnie; two sisters, Isabel Martinez and husband Elizar and Irene Cantu and husband Porfirio; and two grandsons, Jacob Lee and Alix Javier (A.J.) Arispe, all of Beeville.

Sanchez
Anselmo (Sam) G. Sanchez, 78, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at his residence in Midland.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1926, in Beeville to Anselmo and Manuela Sanchez. He was raised and educated here. Mr. Sanchez joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Ft. Bliss. He moved to Midland in the early 1980s.
He had worked at Luby’s Cafeteria until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Anselmo Sanchez Jr., and a brother, Rey Sanchez.
Rosary will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m. at Pipkin Chapel in Midland. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Ray Wilhelm officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jaime Flores, Simon Sanchez, Freddie Flores, Stephen Martinez, John Perry, Arthur Lujan, Bobby Terrazas and Fred Montez. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie (J.J.) Terrazas Jr., Damian Ramos, Grant Hill, Bryan Perry and Ryan Leal.
Survivors include his best friend of 20 years, Pilar Hull; his friends, the Terrazas, Montez, Flores, Leal and Perry families; his cousins, Ernest G. Longoria of Blanco and Lela Longoria of San Antonio; his brother, Eliza Moa of Beeville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Ybarra
Pilar Reyna Ybarra, 105, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2003, at her residence in Mathis.
Rosary will be recited tonight (Wednesday) at 7 o’clock at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis, with Father Jose Salazar officiating. Burial will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy.
Mrs. Ybarra was born in Panna Maria on Oct. 12, 1898, to Andres and Francisca (Valadez) Reyna. She was a Mathis resident, a housewife and a Catholic. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Ybarra, who died on March 15, 1979. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Natividad, Celestino, Leonardo, Octavio and Marcos Reyna; five sisters, Ricarda, Benita, Esiquia, Santos and Aduvijen; and two grandchildren, Louis De Luna and Antonio Morin.
Survivors include two daughters, Dominga De Luna of Plainview and Isabel (Alberto) Fonseca of Mathis; two sons, Matilde (Maria) Ybarra of Fort Worth and Luis (Diamantina) Ybarra of San Antonio; a brother, Andres Reyna of Lubbock; 44 grandchildren; 107 great-grandchildren; and 90 great-great-grandchildren.

Grace Burke Coover passed away Monday, March 1, 2004. She was born into a pioneer South Texas family on July 6, 1908, in Beeville, the second child of John and Cora Burke. She earned a bachelor and master’s of arts from Texas A&I in Kingsville and taught for more than 30 years in Corpus Christi elementary schools. In 1978 she married David Coover Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her sisters, Allie Young and Martha Ann Burke, and her brothers, Pat Burke and John J. Burke Jr.
She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews, Allie Lister, Jane Butler, Phillip Young Jr., John M. Young, Bridget Revell, John Burke III, Martha Ann Young, Patrick Burke Jr, Lott Burke and Melanie Ross.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated today (Saturday) at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beeville. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled through Porter-Loring Mortuary in San Antonio.

Mr. Placido Garcia Sr. was called upon our Loving God on March 3, 2004 at the age of 73. Mr. Garcia was born on December 5, 1958 in the Clareville, Community. Placido was a tractor mechanic and enjoyed spending quality time with his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents; Paulino Garcia nd Josefina Saenz, one sister Nicanora Garza, one brother, Oscar Garcia and one grandson Marcus Arciba. He is survived by his loving wife Isabel G. Garcia of Beeville, TX. Six daughters, Martha Gutierrez and Rosalinda (Adan) Perez both of Beeville, TX. Amelia Garcia of Leander, TX, Lillie (Joe) Arciba and Belinda (Edward) Frye both of Round Rock, TX. Diana (Jaime) Lopez of Hutto, TX. Aurora Caballero Garza, 90, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, in Kenedy.
Rosary was recited Thursday evening at 7 o’clock at Eckols Funeral Home chapel in Kenedy. Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Mauricio Lopez officiating. Burial followed in the Runge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leroy, Fidencio and Albert Garza, Dan Salais, David Sanchez and Patrick Seals.
Mrs. Garza was born in Sebastian on Sept. 6, 1913, to Francisco and Hilda (Benavides) Caballero. She married Diego Garza Sr. on Aug. 14, 1933, in Runge. She was a housewife and a child care provider for many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace and First Mexican Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died on Dec. 1, 1980; her parents; two grandsons, Aaron Garza and Angel Gutierrez; four sisters and seven brothers.
Survivors include five daughters, Lydia Downey (Rigoberto Marroquin) of Houston, Santos Patricia (Dan) Salais, Elvira Caballero Garza and Cynthia (Patrick) Seals, all of Kenedy, and Alice (David) Sanchez of Beeville; seven sons, Fidencio (Connie) Garza of Tyler, Raul (Mamie) Garza, Manuel (Angie) Garza, Diego (Elizabeth) Garza Jr. and James Garza, all of Kenedy, Albert (Tina) Garza of Ingleside and Leroy (Anna) Garza of Lake Jackson; 39 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
