Joaquin Garcia, 31, of Beeville died on Monday, June 4, 2007.
He was born on March 4, 1976, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Suzanne Martindale Garcia and Ramon Garcia Sr. He was a construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his father on Dec. 4, 2006; and one brother, Raymond C. Garcia.
Survivors include his mother, Suzanne Garcia; one daughter, Jerry Garcia; one sister, C. Celine Garcia; one brother, Isaac M. Taylor; and one nephew, Christian James Garcia, all of Beeville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Treviño Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Randall Tarver officiating.

Mrs. Maldonado
Carmen Maldonado, 78, of Beeville, died on Monday, June 4, 2007, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
She was born on July 16, 1928, in Beeville to Jesusa Miranda and Benino L. Garcia. She was a housekeeper and a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Abel B. Maldonado, on Dec. 1, 2002; and one son, Abel Maldonado Jr., on Jan. 19, 2004.
Survivors include six daughters, Margarita Salazar, Estolia (Victor) Contreras, Adelita (Jose) Salazar, Esther (Felipe) Martinez, Teresa (Ruben) Alonso and Andrea Maldonado, all of Beeville; five sons, Jesse Maldonado of Beeville, Raul (Tomasita) Maldonado of Channel View, Ricky Maldonado and Pedro (Patricia) Maldonado, both of Beeville, and Reynaldo (Debra) Maldonado of Freer; one sister, Luz Perez of Houston; one brother, Aurelio Garcia of Orange Grove; two half-brothers, Benino Garcia of Houston and Adan Garcia of Normanna; 40 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary was to be recited at 7:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Trevino Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Luke officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Contreras, Frank Armijo, Edward Maldonado, Michel Martinez, David Lee Maldonado and Joe Anthony Salazar. Honorary pallbearers will be Abel Maldonado III, Raul Maldonado Jr., Ricardo Maldonado Jr., Reynaldo Maldonado Jr., Roland Maldonado, Pedro Maldonado Jr. and Felipe Martinez III.

Mrs. Martinez
Olivia C. Martinez, 81, of Corpus Christi died on Wednesday, June 6, 2007.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1925, in Normanna to Aurelia Vela and Juan Carrizales. She was a Catholic and a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ismael Martinez; one daughter, Lina Guzman; and one son-in-law, Ignacio “Chino” Guzman.
Survivors include four daughters, Aurelia (Jose Luis Sr.) Torres of Florida, Eva (Oliver) Garcia of Beeville, Olivia (Juan Martinez) Balboa and Alicia Johnson, both of Corpus Christi; two sons, Adan (Eli) Martinez and Ismael (Sylvia) Martinez Jr., both of Beeville; three sisters, Otilia Martinez of Beeville; Janie (Antonio) Abrante of Newark, N.J., and Eugenia Carrizales of Austin; one brother, Juan (Alcaria) Carrizales of Beeville; two half-brothers, Ascencion (Maria) Carrizales of Beeville and Domingo (Paz) Carrizales of Midland; 34 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
Pallbearers will be Bene Martinez, Jesse Martinez, Jaime Garcia, Rolando Balboa, Jesse Martinez and Marco Guzman.

Mr. Zambrano
Gregorio P. Zambrano, 61, of Three Rivers died on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1945, in Bee County to Pedro and Jesusa Peña Zambrano. He was a laborer for an oil field company and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. On March 25, 1972, he married Sofia Gonzales in Three Rivers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sofia Zambrano of Three Rivers; and one sister, Louisa Zambrano of Corpus Christi.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Eckols Funeral Home Chapel in Kenedy. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pawnee with Rev. Peter Gajda officiating. Interment followed in Nell Cemetery near Pawnee.
Arrangements were by Eckols Funeral Home in Kenedy.

Mr. Cox
Jay S. Cox, 85, of Mathis died on Friday, June 1, 2007.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1921, in Harrisberg, Iowa, to Pearl Reed and Harold Cox. He married Dorothy Mae Schroeder in San Diego,  Calif., in September of 1944. On July 17, 1965, he married Annie Doubrava in Beeville. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a self-employed propane gas distributor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Dorothy Cox, in 1964.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Cox of Mathis; three sons, Jerry Cox and Michael Cox, both of Corpus Christi, and Joe Cox of Beeville; three daughters, Linda Henkhaus and Sandra Erskine, both of Beeville, and Arleen Davis of Mathis; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Galloway & Sons Chapel. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore with Rev. Lee Bevly Jr. officiating.

Mr. Galarza
Santos Galarza Jr., 61, of Beeville died on Sunday, June 3, 2007, in Beeville at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 1, 1945, in Beeville, to Aurora Martinez and Santos H. Galarza. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include five sisters, Petra Rodriguez, Felipa Ochoa, Emilia Soliz and Lupe Rodriguez, all of Beeville, and Carmen Galarza of Del Valle; three brothers, Frank Galarza of Beeville, Juan Galarza of Victoria and Gabriel Galarza of Ingleside; numerous nieces and nephews; and his grandnieces and grandnephews.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trevino Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. James Church with Father Luke officiating. Interment followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2, with full military honors.
Pallbearers were Jessie G. Rodriguez, Jerry G. Rodriguez, Rudy Lee Ochoa, Albert G. Solis, Oscar G. Solis and Christopher J. Galarza. Honorary pallbearers were Gabriel C. Galarza, Gabriel J. Galarza and Tommy G. Ochoa III.

Antonio R. Garza, 79, of Woodsboro died on Friday, June 1, 2007, in Beeville.
He was bornon Sept. 12, 1927, in Bee County and was a retired ranch hand for Welder McCann Ranch. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Woodsboro.
Survivors include two sons, David Lee Garza of Blanconia and Antonio Garza Jr. of Woodsboro; two daughters, Barbara Hass of San Antonio and Glenda Garza of Beeville; one brother, Cirildo Garza of Blanconia; one sister, Leonor Rodriguez of Woodsboro; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Refugio, with rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic Church in Woodsboro with Father Gregory Deane officiating. Interment followed in St. Bernard Cemetery in Woodsboro.
Pallbearers were Larry, Omar, Karl, Dustin, Tyler and Juan Garza. Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters, Jennifer Hass, Brianna Cano, Haley Garza and  Taylor Cano.

Alfred “Fred” Sanchez Sr., 70, of Beeville died on Monday, June 4, 2007.
He was born on Jan. 18, 1937, in Beeville to Julio and Maria Loya Sanchez. He married Julia Guerra in Beeville on Dec. 23, 1953. He was retired from the Bee Community Action Agency after 28 years of service. He was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Michael J. Sanchez.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Julia Sanchez of Beeville; three sons, Robert (Norma Guerrero) Sanchez of Beeville, Alfred Sanchez Jr. of Houston and Richard (Mylynda) Sanchez of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Debbie (Ramon) Flores and Melissa Sanchez, both of Beeville; one brother, Julio Sanchez of Beeville; 13 grandchildren, RA Flores, Jacob Flores, Phillena Garza, Sierra Trevino, Priscilla Sanchez, Desiree Sanchez, Vanessa Sanchez, Juan Enrique Guerrero, Marivel Guerrero, Jennifer Salazar, Robert Sanchez, Sonia Rodriguez and Joanna Perriman; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Angelus Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Joe Casarez, Danny Loya, Ruben Montez, Alex Rodriguez, Balde Loya and Danny Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Julio Sanchez, T.J. Tijerina and Jack Seals.
