Maria Garcia Martinez, 79, died Monday, July 22, 2002.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 this evening (Wednesday) at Treviño Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Mrs. Martinez was born on Oct. 29, 1922, in Charco to Enrique and Carlotta (Guerrero) Garcia. She was a housewife and a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis L. Martinez, her parents and two brothers, Alfredo and Robert Garcia.
She is survived by her two daughters, Amelia G. Castillo and Eudelia G. Del Rosario, both of Beeville; a sister, Lillie Garcia of Beeville; a brother, Jose Angel Garcia of Beeville; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Treviño
Manuel S. Treviño, 80, died Friday, July 19, 2002.
Visitation was held Sunday at Angelus Funeral Home chapel, with a prayer service that evening at 7 o’clock at the same location. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Brother Esiquio Naranjo officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Ryan Treviño, Joe Maldonado, Jeremy Treviño, Orlando Dominguez, Alfonso Ortiz II and Alfonso Ortiz III.
Mr. Treviño was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Pearsall to Tiburcio and Alamar (Sada) Treviño. He married Herminia Maldonado on Oct. 26, 1941, in Corpus Christi. He was retired from his job in the oil fields as a supervisor for McGilvery Lease Services. He owned and operated M.S. Treviño Cafe and enjoyed woodworking.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters
Mr. Treviño is survived by his wife, Herminia Treviño of Beeville; three sons, Manuel M. Treviño and wife Delia of Richmond, Baltazar “Tony” Treviño and wife Barbara of Berclair and Artemio Treviño and wife Adela of Beeville; a brother, Bernardo Treviño and wife Mary of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Blevins
Ida B. (Thompson) Blevins, 89, died on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, in Springdale, Ark.
Graveside services will be held today (Saturday) at 4 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Berthold officiating.
Mrs. Blevins was born on Jan. 11, 1913, in Axtell to W. Zachariah and Della Thompson. She married Roy Virgil Blevins on Dec. 22, 1931, in Beeville. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and doll collector. She had resided in Arkansas for the last seven years, but prior to that had lived in Beeville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, James H. Stout (July 27, 1950) and Virgil E. Blevins (July 22, 1974), and her husband, who died on March 21, 1988.
Mrs. Blevins is survived by three daughters, Loraine Worthen and Carolyn (Al) Slimmer, both of Springdale, Ark., and Barbara (Lanny) Holland of Beeville; one son, Roy (Mae) Blevins of Beeville; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Coffey
L.D. Coffey, 75, of Corpus Christi died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at a hospital there following a short illness.
He was born on Jan. 28, 1927, in Romance, Ark., to Granvel David and Ollie Ann (McKay) Coffey. He was a veteran of the Army Corps of Engineers and served in World War II. He was the onwer of H&T Explosives in Beeville. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Visitation was to be held on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will take place today (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at the same location with Pastor Wade Fuhrken officiating. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be David Coffey Jr., Tyler Parker, Bob Humphrey Jr., Willie Coffey, John Coffey and Charles Fuhrken.
Mr. Coffey was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Eunice Coffey, who died on May 5, 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Coffey of Corpus Christi; two sons, William “Bill” Coffey and wife Darlene of Jackson, Ala., and Lloyd David Coffey and wife Linda of Beeville; two daughters, Jeannette Sciba and husband Joe and Paulette Humphrey and husband Bob, all of Waller; two sisters, Alta Ree Fuhrken of Orange Grove and Vera Sullivan of Bishop; 12 grandchildren, Eddie Coffey, Bobby Coffey Foster, Lisa Coffey-Jordan, Bobby Humphrey, Joe Sciba Jr., Laura Coffey Parker, Mechelle Humphrey, David Coffey Jr., Willy Coffey, Lanette Sciba, Jennifer Sciba and Lynn Coffey; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Green
The Rev. Dr. Paul Green Jr., 80, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Christus Spohn Hospital in Beeville, following a short illness.
Dr. Green was born on April 22, 1922, in Yorktown. He was the eldest of three sons born to Paul Green Sr. and Johnnie Mae Davis. He was a longtime resident of Beeville, relocating here on Sept. 2, 1954.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He was presented an award for 20 years of civil service employment at NAS Chase Field on Aug. 13, 1972. He was a member of the local branch of the NAACP, member of the Western Star Masonic Lodge No. 444 and was instrumental in the 1989 organization of the local celebration of the Martin Luther King Jr. march. He was well known throughout the city and surrounding areas.
Dr. Green accepted Christ at an early age and was called to preach in February 1956. He pastored several churches during his 46-year tenure, beginning with Greater Bethel in Floresville. He also served at Lone Star Baptist Church in Hallettsville, St. Thomas Baptist Church in Westhoff, Corinth Baptist Church in Sweet Home, St. James Baptist Church in Yoakum, Galilee Baptist Church in Kenedy and served as interim pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Beeville. He was awarded his bachelor of divinity degree on May 24, 1985, and his doctorate of divinity degree on July 9, 1992. Both were presented to him by Dr. H.S. Smith.
Dr. Green was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Daniel Green; a son, Charles L. Green; and two daughters, Cheryl Green Barnes and Linda Green Ross.
He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Green of Beeville; a brother, the Rev. Charles L. Green of Corpus Christi; four sons, Paul N. Green of Beeville, John A. Green of Dallas, James C. Green of Port Arthur and Kelvin Davis of Beeville; six daughters, Pauline Ragston and Rev. Irene Williams, both of Austin, Priscilla Tims, Lydia C. Roy and Constance Y. Green, all of Beeville, and Johnnie L. Green of San Antonio; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Reid of Killeen and Pamela Watson of Columbus, Ga.; a stepson, Sylvester Howard of Beaumont; 47 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation was to be held Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will take place at Bethlehem Baptist Church today (Saturday) at 1 p.m. with the Rev. B.T. Cherry officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place at St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be LaDon Barnes, Joshua Green, Leonard Charles Green, Herbert Ross, Damon Green, John T. Green, Gabriel Green and Bernard Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Hodge Jr., Jesse Neal, the Rev. Carnell Ward, Leonard Crenshaw, Brian Johnson, John Williams, Mitchell Smith and Lionel Hodge.

Lorine Jones Booth, 57, of Maumee, Ohio, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at home, surrounded by her family. She had spent the last year of her life fighting cancer.
She was born in Beeville to William Whitby Jones II and Rachael McCarty Jones. She was a wife and mother, who enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Hall in San Antonio. After graduation, she attended college at Mt. Holyoke in Massachusetts and completed her educated at the University of Texas in Austin. She was a member of the Junior Leagues of Corpus Christi and Boston, Mass. She was presented by the Order of De Piñeda in Corpus Christi in 1964.
Mrs. Booth was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Alan Booth; two daughters, Stacey Russell Booth of Austin and Kathleen Carter Booth of Lexington, Ky.; three sisters, Susan Jones Miller of Brownsville, Kathleen Jones Avery of San Antonio and Elizabeth Jones of Corpus Christi; a brother, A.C. Jones IV of Corpus Christi; two aunts, Alice Jones Thompson of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jeanne Jones (Burt) Hause of Beeville; and eight nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. Following the memorial, graveside services will be held at Beeville Memorial Park.

Simon G. Del Bosque, 65, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel. Rosary was recited that evening at 7 o’clock at the same location. Graveside services were held today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at Del Bosque Cemetery in Normanna, with Father Richard Gonzales officiating.
Pallbearers were Marcello DeLaCruz, Bobby Ray Del Bosque, Juan DeLaCruz, Gabriel Peña, Fernando Del Bosque and Albert Del Bosque. Honorary pallbearer was David Peña.
Mr. Del Bosque was born on Dec. 1, 1936, in Normanna to Juan and Isabel (Garza) Del Bosque. He married Mary Alice Peña on Sept. 14, 1973, in Beeville. He resided in Ingleside and had been employed with the City of Beeville for 20 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and loved the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Del Bosque of Ingleside; five daughters, Virginia (William) Pollard, Lisa Marie Del Bosque and Ashley Marie Del Bosque, all of Ingleside, Melissa Ann Del Bosque of Beeville and Veronica Del Bosque of Aransas Pass; one son, Rocky (Yolanda) Alvaro of Odem; four brothers, Ysidro Del Bosque of Beeville, Isais Del Bosque of Normanna, Juan Del Bosque of Corpus Christi and Joe Del Bosque of Washington, D.C., and Virginia; and five grandchildren, Mercedes Niño, Nina Nichole Niño, Cameron Del Bosque, Jacob Bryan Espinoza and Salma Mireya Alvaro.

Rogerio Garcia III, 51, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, in Victoria.

Mr. Garcia was born to Rogerio S. Garcia II and Antonio (De Luna) Garcia on Sept. 30, 1951, in Beeville. He married Amelia Martinez on Oct. 20, 1973, in Beeville. He resided in Victoria and was employed with the city sanitation department.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church there, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Amelia Martinez Garcia of Victoria; three sons, Eric Lee Garcia of Escondido, Calif., Derek James Garcia and Roger Garcia IV, both of Victoria; his parents, Rogerio S. and Antonia Garcia of Pettus; two sisters, Mary Vargas of San Antonio and Gloria Garza of Kenedy; a grandson, Marcus Raye Garcia; a brother, Fidel Garcia of Beeville; and his aunt and uncle, Lupe and Luis Reyes of Needville.

Sue Terry Stewart, 96, a resident of George West died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Live Oak Nursing Center there.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel in George West. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in George West, with the Rev. Mel Hazlewood officiating. Burial will follow in George West Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ross Brown, Gene Riser, Everst Pawlik, Miles Bradley, Monte Hall and Jim Bassett. Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Christian, August Caron Jr., Robert Davis and Stewart Ash.
Mrs. Stewart was born on Nov. 28, 1905, in Odessa to George W. Terry and Martha Terry Terry. She married Luther Hampton Stewart on May 4, 1931, in Beeville. She resided in George West and was a retired bookkeeper for the First National Bank there. She was a member of the Live Oak Study Club and several other Live Oak County organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, who died on April 23, 1993.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by her daughter, Margie Stewart George and husband Joe of Goliad; two sons, James Stewart and wife Elizabeth and Lonnie Stewart and wife Addie, all of George West; seven grandchildren, Susan Hilsman of Warrenton, Mo., Kay Merkel of Merrill, Wis., Melissa Hall of Beeville, Stephen, Crystal, Kenneth and Kayla Stewart, all of George West; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
