Mayorga
Eva Parra Mayorga, 85, of Houston died there on Monday, May 29, 2000.
A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Galloway & Sons chapel. The funeral was conducted at 10 o’clock this morning at Primera Iglesia Bautista, with the Rev. Maurice Harding officiating.
Burial followed in Skidmore’s Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Aaron McKellen, Anthony Amado Tuck, Kenneth Wayne Tuck Jr., Hector Mayorga, Charles Laurel, Albert M. Salazar and Ted Tuck.
Mrs. Mayorga was born Sept. 30, 1914, in Skidmore to Candelaria (Casanova) and Benino Parra. She was a homemaker and a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista.
Survivors include a son, Martin Hector Mayorga of Houston; six daughters, Ella Tuck, Naomi McKellen, Ruth Cooper, Hilda Tuck and Elizabeth Laurel, all of Houston, and Esther Ortiz of Beeville; and seven grandchildren.
Her husband, Amado Mayorga, preceded her in death on July 16, 1968.

Skoruppa
Hattie A. Skoruppa, 89, of Sinton died Thursday, May 25, 2000, in Beeville.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Richard Bremer and Mike Gabby officiating.
Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Grandchildren served as pallbearers. Her remaining grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren were honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Skoruppa was born April 25, 1911, in Moulton to Frances (Tychovsky) and Charlie Nedbalek. She married Frank Charles Skoruppa on June 11, 1930, in Corpus Christi. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, three sisters and her parents.
Survivors include six daughters, Frances Repka of Alvin, Lenora Huble of Sinton, Millie Isaacks of Fredericksburg, Leona Blanchard of Katy, Abby Morgan of San Diego and Hattie Tucker of LaVernia; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

White
Robert C. White, 77, of Mathis died Saturday, May 27, 2000. He was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Hondo to Noah and Pearl (Grant) White. He was a retired mechanic and was a member of the Baptist church. He was awarded the Purple Heart for service with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret White of Mathis; two daughters, Carla W. Moore and Betty Bolton, both of Fort Worth; a brother, LeRoy White of Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service and burial with full military honors were held at 11 o’clock this morning (Wednesday) in Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis, with the Rev. Joe Webb officiating.
Arredondo
Clara T. Arredondo, 83, died here on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000.
A graveside service and burial will be held Friday in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, with the Rev. Patrick Donohoe officiating.
Miss Arredondo was born on Nov. 8, 1916, in Bee County to Rosa (Treviño) and Jesus Arredondo. She was a lifelong resident of Beeville and was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Blaylock
Louise Blaylock, 74, of George West died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in Bandera.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Monday at Beeville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Stowe officiating.
Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Howard, Jimmy, Ronnie, Eddie, Billy and Bobby Blaylock.
Mrs. Blaylock was born Feb. 9, 1926, in Cleveland, Miss., to Ethel (Posey) and John Frazier. She married James Howard Blaylock there on Feb. 11, 1946. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Blaylock was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Britt of Corpus Christi and Marie Ellis of Kerrville; six sons, Howard Blaylock of George West, Jimmy Blaylock of North Carolina, Ronnie Blaylock of Corpus Christi, Eddie Blaylock of Minnesota, Billy Blaylock of California and Bobby Blaylock of Pennsylvania; a brother, John Frazier of Mississippi; four sisters, Ann, Ruby, Betty and Frances; 35 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

De La Garza
Funeral services are pending at Treviño Funeral Home for Ernest De La Garza, 90. He died this morning (Wednesday).
Mr. De La Garza was born July 12, 1910, in Goliad to Carlos and Candelaria (Cabrera) De La Garza. He was a retired self-employed barber and businessman and was a member of the Catholic church.
Mr. De La Garza served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war, captured during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Pomposita G. De La Garza of Beeville; a daughter, Annie Ruth Williams and husband Martin of Corpus Christi; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Dickinson
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 19, in Harrison, Tenn., for Jessica Hope Dickinson. She was the 14-year-old daughter of former Beeville residents Hurshall and Linda Dickinson and the granddaughter of Avis Dickinson of Beeville. She died Sunday, July 16, 2000, from injuries sustained in an auto-pedestrian accident earlier that afternoon.
Jessica was born Feb. 18, 1986, and was a lifelong resident of Harrison. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church where she was active in the youth department and a member of the church choir. She was active in Girl Scouts and attended Wallace E. Smith Elementary School through second grade. She was a member of the Homeschool Choir and the Washington Hills Homeschool PE Group.
In addition to her parents and paternal grandmother, she is survived by a brother, David Dickinson of Cleveland, Tenn.; a twin sister, Jennifer Dickinson of Harrison; two other sisters, Ginnie Dickinson of Charleston, R.I., and Carol Dickinson Canfield of Marion, Iowa; and her maternal grandmother, Lou Rankin of Rockport. She also is survived by two nephews, a niece and several aunts and uncles.
The funeral was held at St. John United Methodist Church with the Revs. Barry Kidwell and Gary Grogg officiating. Burial followed in Harrison Cemetery.

Fudge
Christopher Robert Fudge, 20, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Georgia. He was born July 3, 1980, in Beeville.
Visitation began at 3 o’clock this afternoon (Wednesday).
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Galloway & Sons chapel, with Clifford Brockman officiating.
Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Quinton Avery, James Gibson, Felipe Ybarra, Donald Gilstrap, Joshua Adkins, Anson Southmayd and Thomas Lynn. Honorary pallbearers will be Pee Wee Thomas, Ryan Dobra, Chris Kenner, David Cantu and A.J. Ablegaard.
Survivors include his mother, Priscilla Brockman Lynn of Beeville; two sisters, Annie Marie Thomas of Georgia and Roberta Oran Lynn of Beeville; three brothers, Wade Keith Lynn of Georgia, Clifford Guy Lynn of Refugio and Thomas Alvin Lynn of Beeville; his paternal grandparents, Buck and Roberta Fudge of Mineral; his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Beatrice Brockman of Beeville and Margaret Hutchinson of Georgia; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Holbrook
Julia Angeline Holbrook, 79, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, in Wichita, Kan.
A graveside service was held at 2 o’clock this afternoon (Wednesday) in Rosehill Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan Patman officiating.
Mrs. Holbrook was born here on Sept. 3, 1921, to Benjamin Lafayette and Mary Ellen (Williams) Hatcher. She married Oliver Roy Holbrook on Jan. 19, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1989.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Roy Holbrook of Maraga, Calif.; and a daughter, Debra Gail Aviks of Wichita, Kan.
Arrangements were under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home in Ardmore, Okla.
Rios
Priscilla A. Rios, 34, died at her home in Beeville on Friday, Aug. 11, 2000.
A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Angelus Funeral Home chapel. The funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Angelus chapel, with Eliazar Guerrero officiating.
Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers were Jimmy, David and Candelario Rios, Sabino Cruz Jr., Luis Hernandez Jr. and Arturo Gonzales.
Miss Rios was born here on March 3, 1966, to Manuela (Aguilar) and Santiago Rios Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include her father, Santiago Rios Sr. of Beeville; three sisters, Susie R. Cruz and husband Sabino and Dolores R. Gonzales and husband Ignacio, all of Beeville, and Candelaria R. Rodriguez and husband Antonio of Dallas; two brothers, Santiago “Jimmy” Rios Jr. and wife Virginia of Beeville and Joe Ernest Rios and wife Ester of George West; a cousin, Annette Ramirez of New Mexico; an aunt, Adela A. Gonzales of Pearsall; and several nieces and nephews.

Shaw
Zorah Rebecca Hunter Shaw, 104, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in the Live Oak Nursing Center in George West.
Memorial services are pending at Galloway & Sons Funeral Directors in Beeville.
Mrs. Shaw was born on July 13, 1896, in Holdenville, Okla., (which was then Indian Territory) to Mickey (Dunn) and Horace Wilderson Hunter. She married John Martin, and widowed at a young age, she moved to Texas with her three daughters in 1919, to be nearer her family. She was remarried to T.E. Counts and they moved to Breckenridge. Following his death, she married Ace Shaw and moved to Buchanan Lake. She was widowed again at the age of 83. After his death, she lived for several years in Phoenix, Ariz., to be near her daughter, Terri Vaughn. Later, she moved back to Midland to be near another daughter, Viola Bevers.
In 1993, Mrs. Shaw moved to Hillside Lodge in Beeville to be near her daughter, Ella, and son-in-law, Lowell Seals, and her grandson, Jack Seals.
Survivors include two daughters, Terri Vaughn and Ella Seals of George West; three grandsons, Jack Seals of Beeville, David Seals of Brownwood and Richard Seals of Cleburne; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Viola Bevers; and a grandson, Gene Partee.
