John "Jay" Emory Wright
John "Jay" Emory Wright, age 68, of Kyote, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2003 at his ranch in Kyote. He is survived by his wife, Caroly Wright of Kyote and daughter, Mary Suzanne Muennink and husband Richard of Hondo. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Karla Arlayne Muennink and Kourtney Melody Muennink of Hondo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emory Henry and Fidelia Leona Wright as well as his son, James Ellis Wright. Visitation will be held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Jourdanton from 2:00pm to 9:00pm, including a rosary at 7:00pm Tuesday, September 9, 2003. The funeral service will be at St. Matthew's Catholic Church at 4:00pm Wednesday, September 10, 2003, Father Francis M. McHugh officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Devine, Texas.

Charles Thomas O'Dell, Sr., age 81, of Pleasanton, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2003, in Pleasanton, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Mary O'Conner of Pleasanton and sons, Charles O'Dell of San Antonio and John Edward O'Dell of Pleasanton. He is preceded in death by a son, James Robert O'Dell. Raymond H. Pickens, age 80, of Pleasanton, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2003, in Jourdanton, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Grace (Lowrance) Pickens of Pleasanton and sons, Constable Robert A. Pickens, II of Kerville and Tim Pickens of Pleasanton. He is also survived by his sisters, Hazel Bailey of Austin, Fay Tracey of Washington Court, Ohio and Aleen Menking and husband Dick of Abilene as well as grandchildren, Megan Lynn Pickens of Kerrville and Ray Pickens, Jr. of Pleasanton. He is preceded in death by a daughter,Janice Paddock, sister, Frankie Miller, sister, Ruby Young and parents, Robert A. and Alice McCarthy Pickens. Local visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton from 9:00am to 1:00am on Saturday, September 13, 2003. Visitation will also be held at Howard-Williams-Turcotte Funeral Home in Hebbronville from 11:00AM TO 2:00PM, Monday, September 15, 2003. Larry Wayne Brown, age 64, of Pleasanton, Texas, passed away Friday, September 19, 2003, in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Kay Brown; daughters, Leslie Brown and Stephanie Brown and husband Larry Dwayne Coolidge as well as son, Scott Brown and wife Michelle. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rebekah, Tyler, David, Kristina and Paul Brown. A memorial service will be held at Pleasanton High School Cafetorium at 2:00pm Saturday, September 27, 2003. Brett McCelvey, age 45, of Dilley, Texas, passed away Monday, September 22, 2003, in San Antonio, Texas. He was the son of James "Rex" McCelvey and Minerva (Swaim) McCelvey. He is also survived by his daughter, Cassidy Ann McCelvey of San Antonio and sons, Brett McCelvey, Jr., James Rex McCelvey and Charles Houston McCelvey all of Dilley, Texas. His brother Lynn McCelvey and wife Da Sha of Dilley as well as his niece, Lyndsey McCelvey of San Antonio and nephews, Justin McCelvey of San Antonio and Landon McCelvey of Dilley also survive him. He will also be greatly missed by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. McCelvey of San Marcos. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, September 24, 2003.
