LA FERIA, TX — Delia Rios Salas, 69, entered into the Lord‘s Heavenly Kingdom Monday March 14, 2005 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a lifetime resident of La Feria from where she had retired from the La Feria Independent School District. Mrs. Salas was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents Agapito (Pete) and Hilaria Rios.
She is survived by her husband, retired J.P Arturo Salas Sr. of La Feria; children: Arturo (Kelli) Salas Jr. of McAllen, TX, Albert (Annie) Salas of La Feria, TX, Drill Sgt. Ariel Salas (Gloria) of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Adrianna Salas of San Antonio, TX, Adrian (Rachel) Salas of La Feria, TX; 5 grandchildren: Dustin Salas, Aleiah Aguilar, Adrianna Salas, Aeson Salas and Ariel Salas Jr.; mother -in-law: Maria Salas of Harlingen; brothers: Agapito (Beto) Rios (Ester) of La Feria, TX.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 18, 2005 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. with Rev. Andre Kazadi as celebrant. Interment will follow to La Feria Memorial Cemetery. Honored to be pallbearers will be Arturo Salas Jr., Albert Salas, Ariel Salas, Adrian Salas, Dustin Salas, Beto Rios.

Jose Felix Ramirez
HARLINGEN, TX — Jose Felix Ramirez, 66, entered into eternal rest Wednesday March 16, 2005 at his residence.
He is survived by his common-law-wife of 25 years, Leonor Palomarez of Harlingen; 4 children: Guadalupe Ramirez and Mario Alberto Ramirez both of Reynosa, Mex., Eduardo Ramirez and Cynthia Blanco both of Harlingen; sisters: Felipa Ramirez and Maria Ramirez both of Zacatecas, Mex., Francisca Ramirez of Reynosa and Rosa Cuevas of Mercedes; 1 brother: Eustacio Ramirez of Reynosa; grandchildren: Sandra, Juan, Ruben, Agustin and Antonio Ramirez, Erica, Patricia, Elizabeth and Jimmy Jr. Blanco; great grandchildren: Beatriz Siles and Johnnathan A. Siles.
Visitation and rosary were held Wednesday and will continue Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Funeral mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. with Deacon Genaro Ibarra as celebrant. Burial will follow Heavenly Grace Cemetery.
Honored to be pallbearers will be Ernesto Munoz, Antonio Castaneda, Eduardo Ramirez, Alberto Pedraza, Jimmy Blanco Jr., and Gavino Fuentes.

Warren Dale Roesch
HARLINGEN, TX — Retired Master SGT Warren Dale Roesch, 83, passed away Monday, March 14, 2005 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
He was born in Council Bluffs, IA, May 18, 1921 to Paul and Blanche Roesch.
After graduating from Clinton, OK High School, Dale attended Oklahoma Business College 1939-1941.
Dale entered military Service in 1942 and retired in 1971.
After retirement, Dale was Associate Broker in Real Estate from 1972 to 1976.
In 1976 Dale went to work for 3 months Plant in Weatherford, OK and retired from there in 1984.
Dale loved Rving, boating, fishing and loved to play his music from 1984 to 1998.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Blanche Roesch; one sister, Oleta; and one adopted son, Butch Roesch.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Vivian "Mick" Roesch of Harlingen; adopted daughter, Sandra Keapakos of Sacramento, CA; adopted son, Tommy Roesch of Ozuma, TX; and son, Paul Roesch of Tiberal, KS.
Dale also had three granddaughters, four grandsons, five great grandsons and five great granddaughters.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Dance Hall at Park Place, 5601 West Bus. 83, Harlingen, Texas officiated by Reverend Ed Grieg.

Juan Mejia
SAN BENITO, TX — Juan Mejia, 76, passed away at his residence in San Benito on Monday. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria De Los Angeles Mejia; two sons, Hugo Mejia and Aurelio Mejia; one daughter, Sylvia Mejia; one brother, Toribio Mejia; and one sister, Matilde Gonzalez.
He is survived by eight sons, Hector Mejia of New Mexico, Juan Mejia of Dallas, Fernando Mejia, Jose Jesus Mejia both of Irving, Jose Angel Mejia, Tomas Mejia, Roberto Mejia, David Mejia all of San Benito; two daughters, Martha Diaz of Irving and Maria Del Rosario Mejia of San Benito; two sisters, Manuela O. Campa and Fidela Mejia Aguilar both of Mexico; 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
There will be a prayer service held tonight at 7 p.m. at Henry Thomae Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel Services will be held Friday, March 18, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Henry Thomae Funeral Home. Burial will follow at San Benito City Cemetery.

Antonio Camacho, Sr.
HARLINGEN, TX — Antonio Camacho, Sr., 47, entered into rest on Wednesday. Mr. Camacho was a lifelong resident of Harlingen.
Antonio loved life and the world. He had many hobbies, two of which where to go dancing and to work on cars, which was his also his occupation. He loved to cook-out every Sunday for his family and friends. Antonio and his wife were inseparable, wherever he went, she went.
Mr. Camacho was preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Camacho, Sr. and his brother, Guadalupe Camacho, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Maria Guadalupe Camacho; sons, Antonio Camacho, Jr., Christopher Lee Camacho, Mark Jason Camacho; mother, Candida L. Camacho; sisters, Dora C. Gonzalez, Dalia C. (Ronnie) Cantu, Connie Camacho, Yvonne M. (Mike Balboa) Camacho; brother, Robert L. (Rebecca) Camacho all of Harlingen, TX; and numerous other family members.
Visitation will be held today, Friday, March 18, 2005 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM.
The funeral procession will depart the Rudy Garza Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian of Christian burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, TX.
Pallbearers will be Joe Billy Garcia, Jose Luis Perez, Luis Gerardo Garza, Robert Camacho, Ronnie Cantu and Rudy Camacho.
Antonio was a loving son, brother, husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.

Warren Dale Roesch

Antonia D. Zartuche
HARLINGEN, TX — Antonia D. Zartuche, 71 passed away on Thursday March 17, 2005 at her residence in Harlingen, She will be dearly missed by her family friends and all whose lives she touched.
Antonia is preceded in death by her loving husband Ricardo Zartuche, Sr. parents Margarito and Petra De los Santos, two brothers Jose De los Santos, Florencio "Chuco" De los Santos and one sister Maria Galvan.
She is survived by four sons Ricardo (Tracy) Zartuche Jr. of Harlingen, Noe (Rebecca) Zartuche Sr. of Edinburg, Ruben (Dora) Zartuche Sr. of Harlingen, Jaime (Christina) Zartuche Sr. of Los Fresnos, Four daughters Sylvia (Kirby) Carpenter of San Antonio, Diana Zartuche of Harlingen, Cynthia Zartuche of Harlingen, Delia (Joseph) Miller of San Antonio, Sixteen Grand-children and One Great Granddaughter Leeandra Rae Zartuche of San Benito and one sister Lupe Cantu of Harlingen.
Visitation will be held today Saturday March 19, 2005 and Sunday March 20, 2005 at Rudy Garza Funeral Home chapel of Peace from 12:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. on both evenings.
Funeral services will be held on Monday March 21, 2005 departing Rudy Garza Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Harlingen, Burial will follow at La Capilla Cemetery of La Feria.
Pallbears will be Ricardo Zartuche Jr., Noe Zartuche Sr., Ruben Zartuche Sr., Jaime Zartuche Sr., Joshua Duran and Alex Garza.
Honorary pallbearers will be Noe Zartuche Jr. and Eddie Galvan.

Gonzalo Hernandez Sr.
HARLINGEN — Gonzalo Hernandez Sr., 89, entered into eternal rest Friday March 18, 2005 at his residence. He had been employed with Southeastern Ice Plant for 35 years. He was a veteran who proudly served his country during WWII.
He is preceded in death by his 2 sons Guadalupe and Raul Hernandez.
Survivors include his wife Juanita C. Hernandez of Harlingen. Sons: David Hernandez (Amparo) of Valencia, Spain, Gonzalo Hernandez, Jr., Carlos Hernandez and family friend Gilberto de la Garza all of McAllen. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday March 20, 2005 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Prayer of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral mass will be at 3 p.m. Monday March 21, 2005 with Fr. Briseno as celebrant at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Daniel O’Keefe Manix
RIO HONDO/HARLINGEN — After a long struggle with the complications of diabetes, Daniel O’Keefe Manix passed away peacefully on March 17, 2005, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 15, 1930 in Victoria, Texas to Amos and Jessie Manix. His parents and brothers moved to the Rio Hondo area in 1939 where he graduated from high school in 1947.
Dan’s passion was sports. After a notable high school athletic career, both he and his brother Jimmie played football at Brownsville Junior College. In 1949, Dan was named to the Texas Junior College All-Star Football team. Dan also played basketball and ran track for the Brownsville Jr. College Scorpions. In 1950, he transferred to Trinity University in San Antonio, where he played football for the Trinity Tigers.
Upon graduating from college, he taught school and served as an athletic coach in Edcouch Elsa, then McAllen. He also administered the summer recreational program for the city of McAllen. As his family grew, Dan joined the family business and was co-owner of Rio Hondo Implement and involved in other farming ventures until his retirement in 1981.
Dan was an active member of his community. He belonged to the Rio Hondo Masonic Lodge and served as Worship Master. He served as city commissioner in Rio Hondo during the late 1960’s and was on the commission during the aftermath of Hurricane Beulah. He was also a member of the Harlingen Elks Lodge. An avid golfer, Dan belonged to the Harlingen Country Club and served as a Local Director of the Life Begins at 40-golf tournament for a number of years.
Dan is preceded in death by his father Amos, his mother Jessie, and brother Edward.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Glenda; daughters, Marsha (Percy) Marchbanks, Cheryl (Ray) Bailey both of Harlingen; sons, Dennis Manix of Corpus Christi, David Manix of Rio Hondo and Dan Manix of Fredericksburg; brothers, William Manix of Corpus Christi and Jimmie Manix of Valparaiso, Florida. Survivors also include five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, a great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his family, Dan leaves a number of friends many of whom he had the pleasure of playing golf with over the years and when he could no longer play, his grin rummy friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Odyssey Hospice for their thoughtful care and Harold Straker for his kindness, assistance and friendship.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Manix, David Manix, Dan Manix, Jacob Howell, Michael Bailey and David Newell.
Visitation will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20, 2005 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family being present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Mont Meta Memorial Park on Monday, March 21, 2005 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gene Horton officiating.
In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to the charity of choice.
