ENNIS — Graveside services for Thedora Morinda Newsom, 89, of Ennis was 2 p.m. Monday, April 3 at Bethel cemetery in Funston with Rev. Larry Porch and Rev. Ken Cashion officiating.
Born Dec. 30, 1916, she died Saturday, April 1, 2006.
She attended rural schools in Jones County and graduated from Stamford High School in 1934.
She married
C.E. “Buck” Newsom in 1937 and lived in Lueders where they reared their family and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and her sister Arlene Higgs in 2005, she is survived by a daughter Sharon Lambert and husband Norman of Hurst; a son Phillip Newsom and wife Cynthia of Ennis; a sister Imogene Thomas and husband Lewie of Snyder; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Green Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Eula Belle Robson

FERRIS — Graveside services for Eula Belle Whatley Robson, 91, of Ferris were 10 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Ferris Memorial Park North with Rev. Elmer Glazener officiating.
Born July 8, 1914 to Walter B. Whatley and Eula Bay Townsend in Hope Hull, Ala., she died Sunday, March 26, 2006.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Robson; two sisters, Mattie Sue Wilson and Minneola Perry; a brother Walter B. Whatley Jr.; a daughter, Sue Vinson; a son, William Sandford Vinson; and grandson Leslie Thompson; she is survived by a grandson, Walter Thompson; a great-granddaughter Kristi; a great-grandson, Kyle; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn and husband Daniel Anthony.
Green Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

ENNIS - Funeral services for Estelline Oates, 88 of Ennis, were held 3 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2006 in the First Baptist Church in Palmer with Rev. Gary Miller and Pastor Thom Layfield officiating.
The daughter of Roy and Katie Atkinson of Ferris, she passed away May 31, 2006 at the IOOF Nursing Home in Ennis.
She is survived by two daughters Sue Templer and husband John of Palmer and Shirley Prater and husband Charles of Midlothian; sister Faye Tuck of Palmer; four grandchildren Suzanne Leach of the Woodlands, Linda Lassetter of Palmer, Debbie Head of Ft. Worth and Keith Prater of Alvarado; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services followed in the Jack Oates Memorial Gazebo in the Palmer cemetery under the direction of Green Funeral Home.

PALMER – Funeral services for Terry Q. Schofield, 45 of Palmer, were held 2 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2006 in the Palmer First Baptist Church with Rev. Thom Layfield officiating.
Born Dec. 17, 1960 in Dallas, the daughter of Bill and Wanetia Allen Barnes, she died June 1, 2006.
Preceded in death by her mother, she is survived by her husband Jim of Palmer; one son and his wife, Brent and Kim Lowry of Dallas; one daughter and her husband, Jeri and E.J. Foley of Elk City, Okla.; her father Bill Barnes of Gilmer; two brothers Jerry Barnes of Gladewater and Gary Barnes of Palmer; three sisters Sherry Freeman of Longview, Keri Haskins of Gilmer and Melinda Barnes of Palmer; two grandchildren Ashley Lowry and Ryan Foley; and brother-in-law Daryl Thomas.
Serving as pallbearers were Keith Haskins, Brent Lowry, Jim Schofield, Daryl Thomas, Joshua Thomas and Mark Freeman.
Interment followed in the Palmer cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

PALMER - Mass of Christian Burial services for Rebecca Fuentes, 41, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 in the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Ferris.
She passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 in Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
Interment followed in the Ferris Memorial Park under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
Ronnie Witherspoon Sr.

HOUSTON - Funeral services for Ronnie Witherspoon Sr., 58 of Houston, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 in the Green Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Carlson officiating.
Born Feb. 25, 1948 in Dallas, the son of Harvey Jefferson and Eva Bernice (Oliver) Witherspoon, he passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 in Memorial Herrmann Memorial City Hospital.
Graduated Ferris High School in 1966 and graduated University of Tulsa in 1970.
He was retired as a salesman for Schlumberger Inc.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Carmen J. (Brown) Witherspoon of Houston; daughter Monica and her husband Lance Wilson of Plano; son Ronnie and wife Julie Witherspoon of Houston; sisters Betty Rice of Ferris and Daphine Savell of Blossom; granddaughter Taylor Wilson of Plano; and grandson West Wilson of Plano.

FERRIS - Funeral services for Kenneth F. Wood, 67 of Ferris, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 in Green Funeral Home with Dr. Bobby Adams officiating.
Born Jan. 9, 1939 in Chama, N.M., the son of Chester & Lois (Evans) Wood, he passed away Aug. 25, 2006 in Ferris.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, also a member of the New Beginnings Bible Church in Ferris.
He was owner and operater of Wood’s Locksmith Services for 14 years and a life time member of Dallas & Texas Locksmith Association.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Lois Keith; he is survived by his wife Janice L. Wood of Ferris; sons Kenneth E. Wood of Pine Knot, Ky. and Jimmie Ray Wilkerson of Merkel; daughter Karen K. Balkam of Norwalk, Ohio; two sisters Helen (Wood) Knobles of Bosie City, Okla. and Betty (Wood) Baldonado of Amarillo; three brothers Paul (Rusty) Wood of Pueblo, Colo., Herbert Wood of Boise City Okla. and Ronnie Wood of Lawson, Okla.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation followed under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.
Mary N. Clark

WAXAHACHIE - Funeral services for Mary N. Clark, 89 formerly of Waxahachie, were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Judy Van Hemert officiating.
Born May 30, 1917 in Boyce, the daughter of D. Valson and Ida Della Fraze Cox, she passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, in the home of her son in Helotes.
She was reared in Boyce, attending Garrett schools.
She then attended beauty school in Dallas. On July 30, 1938 she was married
to Edward Clark.
After their marriage they lived in Waxahachie.
They moved to Iowa Park where they remained for 23 years.
She was employed as a sales clerk for J.C. Penney.
They then moved to Lake City, Colo. where she was employed by the Lake City Grocery and Market for 17 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ennis, the Boyce Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and the Lake City Rebekah Lodge.
Preceded in death by her son Dan R. Clark on Sept. 11, 1991, three brothers and four sisters; she is survived by her husband Edward of Helotes; son and his wife Mark and Mary Clark of Helotes; two daughters and their husbands Rosemary and John Gaines of Boerne and Kathleen and Wayne Harris of Midlothian; brother Thomas M. Cox of Trinidad; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Methodist Church.
Interment followed in Myrtle cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
James Bell

WAXAHACHIE - Funeral services for James Robert Bell, 84 of Waxahachie, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 in the Waxahachie Funeral Home Chapel.
Born Nov. 25, 1921 in Alvarado, the son of Edna and Charles Bell, he passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006 in the Medical Center of Arlington.
He served his country in the Navy.
Robert married
Anita Hallmark on November 8, 1947 in Fort Worth.
Robert and Anita have been in Waxahachie for the last 22 years.
Preceded in death by two sons James Ronald Bell and Charles Thomas Bell, sister Lillian Stanford and two brothers Richard Bell and Charles Bell Jr.; he is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Anita Bell; daughter Nita Condor and husband Bruce of Waxahachie; sons Keith Daniel Bell of Waxahachie, Richard Kevin Bell of Waxahachie and David Carson Bell and wife Tarah of Venus; daughter-in-law Commilla Ann Bell of Waxahachie; sisters Lemmie Hunstable, Lenora Yoffee and Josephine Hare; brothers Johnny Bell and Freddy Bell; grandchildren Angela Glass, Robert Condor, Heidi Bell, Sara Redwine, Brian Bell and Tiffany Stevens and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Robert Condor, Tim Redwine, Robert Glass, Brian Bell, Brian Stevens, and Hunter Glass.
Interment followed in Cope cemetery in Retta, Texas under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
