Herbert E. Vaughn
Graveside services for Herbert E. Vaughn, 78, of Longview will be held in the Lakeview Mausoleum Chapel at 2 p.m. today with the Rev. Slim Sullivan officiating. Mr. Vaughn passed away Thursday, May 14, 1998, at his residence. Mr. Vaughn was born on Oct. 31, 1919, in Port Arthur. He served in the U.S. Navy, receiving a medal for heroism and, in 1945, an honorable discharge. Mr. Vaughn retired from Amoco Pipeline Co. after 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Bethel Vaughn; one daughter, Betty Vaughn; a brother, Martin Vaughn; three sisters, Rose Hudspeth, Corine Popielarczyk and Cora Forey; a grandson, Stephen Coppedge; a granddaughter and her husband, Cindy and Kelly Seis; and two great-grandsons, Trevor Coppedge and Hunter Seis.

Mr. Williams died Friday, May 15, 1998, in a Tyler hospital. He was born July 14, 1945, in Wichita Falls and was an electronic technician for Appliance Hospital. Formerly of Tyler, he had lived in Hawkins four years. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 22 years, Maggie Williams of Hawkins; one stepdaughter, Brenda Jackson of Huntsville; a sister, Lynn Wheat of Tyler; his mother, Inez Williams of Tyler; and his mother-in-law, Loreta McCurry of Hawkins. The family will be at the home of Sue Landsdale. Visitation is 6-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Mims Chapel cemetery under the direction of Haggard-Heaster Funeral Home. Mrs. Dorgan died Friday at her residence. She was born March 6, 1928, in Hope, Ark. A longtime Jefferson resident, Mrs. Dorgan was a homemaker and a member of North Shore Baptist Church. She also was a member of Women of Grace. Mrs. Dorgan was preceded in death by her patents, Mack Albert and Myrtle Mae McMillen; her husband, Felix "Pete" Dorgan; four brothers; and a sister. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Moore of Avinger, Texas; a granddaughter, Michelle Moore of Austin; brothers Mack McMillen Jr. of Concord, Calif., and Cannon McMillen of Meadville, Mo.; and sisters Margie Sensenich of Meadville, Mo., and Ona Faye McClary of Beaumont. Visitation for Mrs. Dorgan will be 2 to 9 p.m. today at North Shore Baptist Church.

Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his first wife, Deal Louise Osborn, she died July 22, 1994, after more than 50 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Gene Crawford Palmer of Rockwell and Gilmer, Texas; three daughters and their husbands, Catherine and Bobby Gurney of Baton Rouge, La., Susan and Butch Gorsha of Arlington, Texas, and Linda and Mike Holt of Arlington, Texas; a stepdaughter and her husband, Kim and Larry King of Forney, Texas; seven grandchildren, Cassidy Holt, Christine Gorsha, Theresa Howell, Charles Springer, LaMoine Springer, Dwayne King and Michael King; and three great-grandchildren.
