Schultz
Robert Edward “Bob” Schultz, 84, of Anahuac, passed away at Bayside Community Hospital in Anahuac.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Anahuac. The Rev. John Black and Rev. Everett McCollum will officiate. Interment will follow at Anahuac cemetery in Anahuac under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.
Bob was born on April 1, 1920 in Dayton to parents John Frederick “Fritz” Schultz and Katherine Watts. He was a civilian pilot and flight instructor during WWII and shortly after, he entered the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Anahuac for 55 years. He was very active in the church where he was a board member, lay witness and Sunday school teacher. He was very involved in his community. Bob was also active with the Boy Scouts of America.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Bettye Schultz, granddaughter Jennifer Schultz and brothers Louis Schultz and Fred Schultz.
He is survived by his sons Jan Robert Schultz and wife Betty of San Antonio and Joe Mark Schultz and wife Tyna of Anahuac, daughter Cynthia Ann Osborne and husband Jeff of Austin, grandchildren Karl Schultz, Kate Schultz, Mike Schultz, Jasper Schultz, Alex Schultz, Trenda Osborne and Maggie Osborne, great-grandchildren Timmy Allen and Kaly Schultz and nephew Albert Schultz and wife Marge. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Anahuac.
McDonald
Danny Joe McDonald, Sr. of Houston, passed away on Friday at a Houston hospital. Visitation will be held from 3pm-9 p.m. on Sunday at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Monday at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.
The Rev. Nelson Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty.
Danny was born on July 30, 1953 in Houston, to parent s Herchel McDonald and Patsy Laverne Clevenger. Danny was a veteran of the Viet Nam War where he served in the Marines. He had been a lifetime resident of the area where he worked in Heating and Air Conditioning for 29 years. He loved to sit on the back porch and have a drink with friends. He also raised horses and dogs.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents and brother David McDonald. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Lee “Cookie” McDonald, daughters Denise Groff and husband Donnie of Highlands and Wendy Walsh and husband (Darrel) of Crosby, sons Danny McDonald Jr., Trevor McDonald of MS and Tracy McDonald of MS, sister, Linda Sue Smith and husband Nelson of Sheldon and brothers Larry Schion and wife Terry Sue of Jacinto City, TX and Bobby Richardson of Jacinto City, TX. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lee
Jesse Frank Lee, Sr., 55, of Dayton died Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Grand Isle, Louisiana.
He was a native of Liberty, Texas and had lived the past 22 years in Dayton. He served in the U.S. Army where he received a purple heart. He worked in Grand Isle as an engineer.
Service for Mr. Lee will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with Rev. Tony Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Denise Lee of Dayton; sons: Jesse Frank Lee, Jr. of Dayton, Jason Walters of Houston, and Corey Walters of Dayton; daughters: Stephanie Green of Atascocita and Becky Tanton of Liberty; sisters: Sherry Seymour of Liberty, Patricia Touchet of Liberty, and Pam Gibson of Liberty; 6 grandchildren: Alyissa Thamm, Jason Walters, II, Richard Green, Nicholas Walters, Zachary Green and Madison Tanton.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., Saturday at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Thompson
Greg Thompson, age 21, died Thursday April 22, 2004.
Funeral services will be held on Monday April 26, 2004 at 10:00 a. m., at the Allison Funeral Service 1101 North Travis Street, Liberty, TX. With burial in the Moss Hill Community cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2004 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Allison Funeral Service.
Greg was born on July 14, 1982 in Corpus Christi, TX, to Gary Dean and Judy Kay Wood Thompson. He was a graduate of the Hardin High School in 2000, and attended Lamar University. Greg was a welder for the BBB Tank Services Company, a Petroleum Chemical Company in Beaumont, TX. He was a member of the Baptist church, and enjoyed sports, and was a Little League Coach for Base Ball and Basket Ball Teams.
Greg is preceded in death by both grandfathers, C. J. Wood, and Tommy Thompson, and grandmother, Dorothy Mae Fox.
He is survived by his parents, grandmother, Gwen Wood, sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Dewayne Benavidez, a brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Misty Thompson, nieces, Brittny, Skyler, Maria, and Julia, nephews, Zane, Reed, Patrick, Taylor, and Savan.
Schmidt
Diane Frances Schmidt, 57, of Crosby, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 in Crosby after a tragic accident.
She was born January 17, 1947 in New Jersey to parents George and Beatrice Davidson. Mrs. Schmidt had lived in Crosby for the past 28 years and was previously of Pasadena.
Service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2004 at The Crosby Church in Crosby with Rev. Keenan Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood cemetery in Humble.
She is survived by her husband Axel Schmidt of Crosby; her mother: Beatrice Davidson of Crosby and her brother: Bruce Davidson and wife Kathy of Humble. Visitation will begin at 9:30 Saturday morning at The Crosby Church in Crosby.

Moss
“L.G.” Leonard Glen Moss, 75 of Liberty, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 4pm, Thursday, April 22, 2004 at the Bethel Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Norris cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 8pm on Wednesday at Allison Funeral Service.
Mr. Moss was born March 21, 1929 in Raywood to Leonard Isaac & Hazel Barrow Moss. He married
Barbara Ann Davis on September 4, 1953 in Liberty. L.G. was a retired equipment foreman for Shell Oil. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church and enjoyed gardening and working with his cows.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Iris (Hopy) Emerson; grandchildren Brett Thomas & Sean Alan Campbell.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Moss; sons Ronald Glen (Luke) Moss, Alan Dale (Brownie) Moss & wife Becky, Nelson Lynn Moss; daughters Dana Lynette Campbell & husband Robert, Marilyn Denise Darbonne & husband Donny; grandchildren Chad Darbonne, Bart, Eric, Andrew, Jaclyn & Jared Moss; great grandchildren Krissy & Kirsten Moss; sisters Mavis Starling, Shirley White, Ann (Ginny) Street; brother Robert Lee Moss.
Leisinger
Ruth M. Leisinger, 92, of Dayton, died at a Baytown hospital on Sunday.
Visitation will be held from 5pm-9 p.m. on Thursday at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. The Rev. Tony Rogers will officiate. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
Ruth was born on July 8, 1911 in Harrell, Arkansas to parents Charles Hines and Bertha Harris. She had lived in the area for over 30 years. She was a member and very active in Harmony Baptist Church, where her late husband was Pastor, for many years. She was a true caregiver and servant who always put the needs of others before her own. She loved to cook and was known for her ability to make a meal out of anything. She also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 68 years, Rev. O.W. Leisinger, daughter Sandra Kay Barriage, her brother Fred Fullington and sisters Jessie James, Nelia Parker, Ruby Lea Smith, Alice McKenney and Clyde Porter.
She is survived by her sons James Leisinger and wife Linda of Atascocita, and Donald Eugene Leisinger of Pasadena, daughters Patsy Ruth Guthrie and husband Michael of Dayton and Edwina Maxine Horton and husband Morris of Coppell, TX, brothers Charles W. Hines and Robert Hines, sister Lou Roe, grandchildren, LeAndra Dawn Barriage, Wesley Allen Leisinger, Robert Bryan Leisinger, Stephanie Ann Leisinger, James Christopher Leisinger, Tracy Lyn Sekula, Alicia Kay McGurk and David William Barriage and 6 great-grandchildren. She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her 7th great-grandchild. Ruth is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bartula
Carl Bartula, 77, of Crystal Beach, formerly of Dayton, died on Saturday at his home. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.
Carl was born on February 2, 1927 in Houston to parents Henry S, Bartula and Virginia Bolka.
Carl is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Lou Bartula, daughters Pam Simpson of Coweta, OK and Debbie West and husband Steve of Cibolo, TX. He is also survived by 3 granddaughters and 3 great-grandsons.

Jones
Annye Jones of Atascocita, Texas, died April 3, 2004 in her home while surrounded by those who loved her, after an extended and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born September 23, 1930 in Raywood, Texas, the daughter of Daniel Lee and Lenora Lacour Moss.
She was married
to Henry Daniel Jones for 53 years. She was a teacher and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Her parents and her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Daniel David Jones, her daughter and son in law, Debra and Jim Teel. Her brother David Moss and his wife Julie survive her. Annye is also survived by four grandchildren: Daniel, Jennifer, Andrew and Susannah.
A service to celebrate Annye’s life will be held at the Atascocita United Methodist Church at 1 P.M. on Thursday, April 8, 2004.
