Partlow

Ray Dozier “Dick” Partlow was born in Liberty, Texas, on March 30, 1933 where, as the five generations of family who preceded him, he lived his entire life. He entered Heaven and eternal life on December 21, 2005 while surrounded by his family.

Dick graduated from Liberty High School in 1951 and entered Texas A&M University. He graduated from Texas A&M – “Old Army” as he would say – in 1955 with a B.S. in Animal Science. He was also a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and served on the Bugle Rank his senior year.

Dick was a storeowner, a cattleman, and a salesman, but he will be remembered most as his wife Mary’s sweetheart, a wonderful, devoted father, and “Pop” to his three grandchildren. His friends and acquaintances will remember him as one of the kindest and gentlest men who ever haled from Liberty County.

Dick was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Liberty his entire life where he sang in the choir for more than 40 years, was a member of the Men’s Bible Class, served as a Trustee and also as a member of the Administrative Board. He was also a member and past president of the Liberty Lion’s Club, and he was responsible for the addition of more than 50 members throughout his membership span. Dick was the first president of the Liberty Jaycees, and he was also a 50-year member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge # 48, A.F. & A.M. As a descendant of many generations of Liberty County residents, Dick was also a member of The Sons of the Republic of Texas, H.B. Johnston Chapter #10.

Dick was preceded in death by his mother Lucy Waldo Partlow, his father William Dozier Partlow, his brother William and sister Ellen. He was the youngest grandchild of twelve to William Samuel Partlow and Ellen Johnston Beard. Dick was also a descendant of pioneer settlers M. G. White, the first Alcalde of the Atascosita District, and H. B. Johnston, early settlers who migrated to present-day Liberty County, Texas from Liberty, Mississippi in 1823 to obtain their Spanish Land Grants and would become the first Alcaldes of the Liberty County area.

Dick is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Mary, and his children William Dozier Partlow, II, of Hardin, Texas; Miriam Partlow Westmoreland and her husband Ted of Houston, Texas; and John Belve Partlow and his wife Leslie of Tyler, Texas. “Pop” is also survived by his grandchildren: Jake and Marlee Westmoreland and Miriam “Maggie” Partlow.

Funeral arrangements will be handled through Allison Funeral Directors in Liberty, Texas. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 22, 2005 in the Middleton Chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Liberty, Texas between 5p.m. and 9p.m. The funeral service and celebration of Dick’s life will take place at First United Methodist Church in Liberty, Texas on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. A Masonic graveside service will immediately follow the church service at the Cooke Memorial cemetery in Liberty.

Pallbearers are Johnny Mearns, Jere Showalter, Scott Parker, Bob Wiggins, Larry Forney, Gene Stubblefield, Howard Herzer, Jake Westmoreland, Ralph Ward, Jr. and Ramzi Shahla. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Liberty Lions Club and the Methodist Men’s Bible Class.

The family would like to express their thanks and sincere gratitude to their many friends and all of the staff at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown for their care and support during Dick’s illness.

Youngblood

Dick C. "Dicky" Youngblood, II, 48, of Dayton, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at the Doctor's Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 10 Am, Friday, December 23, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 10 Am to 9 Pm, Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Dicky was born April 16, 1957 in Liberty to parents; Dick C. Youngblood and Rosalie Youngblood, and has resided in the Dayton area throughout his life. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1975 and had attended the Sam Houston State University, member of the First Baptist Church of Dayton, former employee of Exxon of Baytown, a salesman for Randall Reed Auto of Humble, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting.

Mr. Youngblood was preceded in death by his step-father: H. L. McCombs and maternal grandmother: Irene J. Flowers. He is survived by his sons: Dick C. Youngblood, III and wife Renee of Dayton, Shane J. Youngblood and wife Candi of Huffman, and Jacob Youngblood of Dayton, daughter: Meagan Youngblood of Liberty, grandchildren: Aaron and Chloe, mother: Rosalie McCombs of Dayton, father: Dick C. Youngblood and wife Carole of Onalaska, sisters: Carmen Pratka and husband Ronnie of Dayton, Carol Kolarik and husband Gerald of Dayton, and Carla Welder of Galveston, aunt: Deen Curry of Dayton, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Roberts

Rebecca Jo "Becky" Roberts, 51, of Pearland, died Saturday, December 17, 2005.

Becky was born September 15, 1954, in Liberty, to C. O. "Bobby" Roberts and Jo Muriel Alford Roberts. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jody Roberts.

Becky is survived by her husband, Mark Johnson of Pearland; her father, C. C. "Bobby" Roberts of Richmond; her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Barbara Roberts of Crosby; one nephew, Chris Roberts of San Marcos; two nieces, Stephanie and Kayla Roberts of Crosby; and a great-nephew, Colin Roberts of Crosby. She is also survived by her aunts and uncle, Ramona and Albert Darden of Houston, and Rosemary Alford of Liberty; and cousins, Renee and Jon Shelfer of Pelham, Alabama; Paula and George Burns of Sugarland; Alison Alford of Liberty; Bruce and Gloria Stratton of Liberty; Jennifer Jackson of Houston; Donna Spear and Joyce Butler of Dallas.

Becky attended school in Liberty until the end of her sophomore year, and graduated from high school in Dallas. She graduated from ITT Technical Institute, with a drafting degree in 2000. She worked at NASA for a contractor on the space shuttle, until her illness caused her to take a leave of absence.

A memorial service for Becky will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Liberty.

Stayton

Ann Stayton, 87, of Dayton, died Monday, December 19, 2005 at the Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

She was born March 10, 1918 in Crosby to her late parents: Joel Davis and Frances Bratton Davis. She lived all of her life in the Crosby, Houston, Barbers Hill and Dayton areas and while living in Barbers Hill, graduated form Barbers Hill High School in 1935. Dorothy worked long and hard as a Secretary retiring from three different Petroleum companies including: General Crude, Pure Oil and Mobil. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dayton, being very active in many church groups and projects and was formerly a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star Dayton Lodge serving as Past Worthy Matron and Mother Advisor to the Rainbow Girls. Mrs. Stayton’s other interests were in being a Master Seamstress and Knitting.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Rev. John Stouffer officiating. Burial will follow at the Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton.

She is survived by: Husband of 69 years: H. F. “Doc” Stayton of Dayton; Sister: Myrtle Davis Dyer of Baytown; Sisters-in-law: Florine Polk of Dayton and Mary Stayton of Baytown; Nieces and Nephews: Donna Walkup, Jo Ann Manahan, Smokey Davis, Tony Davis, Frank Manahan, Eleanor Polk Damek, Carolyn Stayton Powell, Hope Stayton Johnson, Linda Stayton Burrell and Gayle Stayton Phillips and numerous Great-nieces and Great-nephews. She was preceded in death by: Parents: Joel Davis and Frances Bratton Davis; Sister: Josephine Manahan and Brothers: Buddy Davis and Buck Davis. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Weaver

Everett Fulton Weaver, age 56, of Liberty, TX, died Saturday December 17, 2005 in a Liberty hospital.

A memorial funeral service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2005 at 4:00 P. M. the Allison Funeral Service 1101 North Travis Street Liberty, TX, with Chaplin Georgia Lawrence officiating. Everett was born to Leroy Fulton Weaver and Hattie Fae Thornton in Galveston County on February 22, 1949. He was a Liberty High School graduate and he married Ruby Deloris Whitmier. They were member of the North Main Baptist Church for many years. Everett was a diesel mechanic for the Key Energy Company and worked on the big rigs and heavy equipment in the petroleum industry.

Everett is preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Charles Fulton Weaver, and a son: James Conway.

Survivors are his wife: Ruby Deloris Weaver, of Liberty, TX, children: Richard and Shirley Ann Weaver, of Anahuac, TX, Michael and Natalie Conway, of Naperville, Il, Melissa and William Peveto of Republic, MO., very dear friends: Willie and Judy Harryman of Liberty, TX, brothers and sisters: Gerald and Frances Weaver of Hardin, TX, Abigail and Deryl Dees f Batson, TX, Janie Weathers of Avoca, AR., Shirley and Bob Smith of Avoca, AR., and twelve grandchildren: Robert Conway, Nickey Conway, Johnny Conway, Maria Conway, Triston Conway, Dianna Weaver, Glen Byrom, Justin Byrom, Whitney Byrom, Megan Byrom, Ashley Weaver, and William Peveto, and a host of other family members and friends

Ambrose

Charlotte Dubose Ambrose, age 53, of Hardin, TX, died at her home on Saturday, December 17, 2005.

Funeral services will at be held on Monday, December 19, 2005 at 10:00 A. M., at the Hardin United Methodist Church, Hardin, TX, with the Reverend Gideon H. Watson officiating, burial will follow in the Hardin Chapel cemetery. Charlotte was born on January 31, 1952 in Liberty, TX, to Elbert James DuBose and Thelma Watson DuBose. She graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School in 1970 and married James Elton Ambrose on August 8, 1970 at the Hardin United Methodist Church. They had one daughter: Shanna Lyn Ambrose Dillingham.

Charlotte worked in the Liberty County Tax Assessor office as chief deputy Clerk for 20 years before transferring to her present position as clerk with the Central Appraisal District. She was a member of the Hardin United Methodist Church and had previously been involved in several church activities and committees.

Charlotte was an avid reader of romance novels and owned almost every hard-cover copy of author Danielle Steel. She loved handiwork, especially counted cross-stitch and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed visiting and being with her family at different get-together during the year. Charlotte loved her three grandchildren more than life itself and enjoyed babysitting with them, attending their basketball and baseball games and buying for them.

Charlotte will be greatly missed by her husband, James Elton Ambrose, daughter and son-in-law, \: Shanna Lyn and Mike Dillingham, her three wonderful grandchildren: Michael James, Hanna Elizabeth, and Zachary Steven Dillingham, a brother and sister-in-law: Elbert James DuBose III, and Tacy, brother and sister-in-law: Bobby Ambrose and Carol, brother-in-law: Dennis Ambrose, David and Tammy Ambrose,

Mother-in-law: Dorothy Ambrose, sister and brother-in-law: Deborah and Kerry Cain and her extended family and vast number of friends that she accumulated over the years dealing with the public.

Eddlemon

Thurman P. Eddlemon, 80, of Newton, died Thursday, December 15, 2005, at the Shady Acres Health and Rehab Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Monday, December 19, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Thurman was born August 24, 1925 in Pearcy, AR, to parents; Will and Betty Weatherford Eddlemon, a former resident of Cleveland, and has resided in the Newton area for the past three years. He was a retired employee from Champion Paper in Cleveland, a veteran of the US Air Force with service during WW II and Korea, member of the Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed working in his yard, playing guitar and singing at church.

Mr. Eddlemon was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Patsy Eddlemon, brothers: Henry and Roy Eddlemon, and sister: Floye Sarafin. He is survived by his brother: Lloyd Eddlemon of Friendswood, sister: Ella Mae Short of CA, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Williamson

Sue Joyce Williamson, 79, of Hull, Texas, died at her home December 15, 2005 after a lengthy illness.

She was born to James McDaniel and Buna Mae Barton McDaniel on January 9, 1926 in Keota, Oklahoma. She was a former resident of Santa Fe, Texas, currently residing in Hull, Texas.

Sue is fondly remembered for being a kind and gentle person who loved life, crocheting, gardening and cooking. Sue was a devout Jehovah’s Witness, and a member of Houston Deaf Senior Citizens Association.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-two years, Daril Henry Williamson Sr., one son, Daril Henry Williamson Jr. and wife Sherry of Hull, Texas, two daughters, Rebecca Goins of Houston, Texas and Brenda Castillo and husband Paul of Hardin, Texas, one sister, Louise Annie Spears of Bay City, Texas, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Moss Hill Community cemetery, Saturday, December 17, 2005, at 10:00am, with Brother David LeFleur officiating. Services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis St. Liberty, Texas.

Glenn

Edna Merle Glenn, 79, died on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 after a long battle with breast cancer.

Born April 2, 1926 in Winters, Texas to Travis & Sarah Brothers she was one of eleven children. A devoted Christian wife and mother, she lived most of her life in Robstown, Texas and the Calallen area of Corpus Christi, Texas. She was employed by The Bank of Robstown for over 30 years as a Teller and Assistant Cashier. She then worked for Mr. Edwin Singer in the Oil business for ten years. She retired in 1991. She and her family were members of Annaville Baptist Church in Corpus Christi TX and later were among the first families to become members of the Central Baptist Church mission in Calallen which later became River Hills Baptist Church of which she was a member for 25 years. She was a faithful member of the ladies Bible Study and helped with Sunday school record keeping/financials. She loved to garden, work with ceramics, travel, cook and decorate. She had a passion for people in general, never met a stranger and was a loyal, compassionate, caring friend to many.

She is survived by her Husband, Daughter and Son-In-Law, Daughter, Granddaughter, numerous Brothers and Sisters, and a host of special in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, December 16, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Guidery cemetery in Batson Texas. Pastor Bruce Frazier, nephew, of Texas City TX will officiate.

Davenport

Mary Lilla Davenport, 94, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at Liberty Health Center. She was born March 16, 1911 in Willis Texas. She lived in the Thickett Area over 25 years. She loved working with flowers, and enjoyed talking with her friends and relatives.

Service for Mary Lilla Davenport will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2005 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Interment will follow at County Line cemetery, in Willis Texas.

She is preceded in death by her sons Paul Helmer and Herbert Lee Davenport. She is survived by husband: Alvie Davenport of Thickett; daughter: Theresa Shimek and husband Ronnie of Batson; sons: Ray Helmer and wife Odelia of Channelview; Don Helmer and wife Tammy of Devers; sister: Ruth Lucas of Lampass and sister-in-law, JoAnn Helmer. Numerous grandchildren, Great-grandchildren & Great-great grandchildren also survived.

The family will receive friends 8:00a.m., Friday until service time at 1:00 p.m. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.

Roy

Doris May Roy, 83, of Dayton, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston. She was born April 26, 1922 in New Braunfels, Texas. She lived in the Dayton area over 40 years. She retired from working in TG&Y stores and Woolworth's. She also loved to travel.

Grave-Side Service for Doris May Roy will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2005 at Houston Veterans National cemetery in Houston.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Joseph Roy.

She is survived by daughters: Rena King of Houston; Susan Rawlinson and husband Bobby of Dayton; sons: Clifton Wayne Roy and wife Wanda of Houston; Lonnie Roy and wife Janie of Houston.

Eight grandchildren and ten Great-Grandchildren also survived.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 15th from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.

Wirick

Harold "Hal" Samuel Wirick, Jr., 75, of Dayton, died on Sunday, December 11, 2005 in Liberty.

He was born on October 24, 1930 to Parents: Harold Samuel Wirick, Sr. and Audrey Burton Wirick in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Hal had been a resident of Dayton, for over 35 years, was the owner of the Dayton Auto Parts Store in Dayton, for many years, was a 1962 graduate of the University of Houston, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dayton, where he was actively involved, most of all he enjoyed being a member of the Choir, was involved with the Dayton Historical Society, served on the Board of Directors for the Liberty - Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce for several years, was a member of the Dayton Rotary, worked in Real Estate and enjoyed sailing.

He is preceded in death by his Parents: Harold Samuel Wirick, Sr and Audrey Wirick; Sister: Marion Helton; Daughter-in-law: Debbie Wirick and Grandchildren: Bailey and Samuel Wirick.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 from 5:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

He is survived by his Beloved Wife of 53 years: Gladys "Lynn" Stephens Wirick; Sons: Sam Wirick and his wife Marcie and Gary Wirick and his wife Lillian all of Dayton; Grandson: Douglas Wirick of Dayton; Brothers-in-law: Steve Stephens and his wife Sandra of Dayton, Lloyd Stephens and his wife Billie and Vernon Stephens, Sr. all of Dayton; Brother: Jim Wirick and his wife Betty of Indiana and Numerous Nieces and Nephews and close friends.

Funeral services for Hal Wirick will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the First Untied Methodist Church in Dayton with the Rev. Jon Stouffer officiating. Burial will follow at the Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Trousdale

George Arthur Trousdale, Sr., 64, of Old River, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at his home.

He was born February 18, 1941 in DeQuincy, Louisiana to his late parents: Doy Lee Trousdale and Ada Perego Trousdale. George was a retired Oilfield Rigger and U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict Era. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Houston National Veterans Affairs cemetery with Rev. Mitchell Poole officiating. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

He is survived by: Son: James “Jack” Trousdale of Mont Belvieu; Daughter: Connie Daniels and her husband Allan; Grandchildren: Jacob Daniels, Sarah Daniels, Dominic Daniels and Alicia Daniels; Brother: Stephen Trousdale of Mont Belvieu; Sister: Charlotte Collins of Mont Belvieu and numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by: Parents: Doy Lee Trousdale and Ada Perego Trousdale; Son: George “Skeeter” Trousdale, Jr. and Brothers: Doylee Trousdale, Mike Troudsdale and Ronnie Trousdale. Pallbearers will be: Tim Walker, Steve Marks, David Franz, Robert Sutterfield, Troy Burton and Leon Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jim Hardy, Rocky Nash, Jody Nunez, Mike Land and Big Mike Sharp.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. The family will receive friends after the service, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Senior Citizens Center in Mont Belvieu.

Moore

Donald M. Moore, 75, of Smith Point died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the San Jacinto Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital in Baytown.

He was born December 7, 1930 in Silsbee, to his late parents: Basil Moore and Bertha Loftin Moore. Donald had traveled all over the world, was a member of the Baptist Faith, served in the Merchant Marines and the Army two separate times, worked in the oilfields of Louisiana and Texas and also worked for the IDECO Company in Beaumont. Along with his wife, he owned and operated his own shrimp boat out of Smith Point. Donald had lived in Liberty County most of his life and at the time of his passing was living in Smith Point where he enjoyed hunting, operating his small engine repair shop and being and avid football fan. He was very well known and will be deeply missed by many relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at the North Main Baptist Church in Liberty with Dr. Jimmie Clemmons and Rev. Bob Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairlawn Memorial Park in Liberty.

He is survived by: Wife of 53 years: Juanita Moore of Smith Point; Sisters: Iva Lee Becker of Liberty and Betty Waisner of Clute; many Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law and numerous Nieces and Nephews from Arkansas and all over Texas and a host of relatives and Friends. He was preceded in death by: Parents: Basil Moore and Bertha Loftin Moore; Brothers: Travis Moore, Avon Moore and Bobby Moore and Sisters: Maxine Jennings and Patsy Moore. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2005 at the North Main Baptist Church in Liberty.
