Miller
Ernest Michael Miller, 61, of Liberty, died Thursday, March 8, 2007 in Beaumont, Texas after an extended illness. He was born October 24, 1945 to parents, Johnny and Wilma Gene Henson Gentry in Vidor, Texas. He attended high school in Beaumont was a self employed truck driver and had lived in this area for over 23 years and was devoted to taking care of his family.
Services for Mr. Miller will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow at Cook cemetery in Liberty, Texas. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Gentry, step-father, Edward Terchiak and mother, Wilma Gene Terchiak, and one grandson, Jonathan Miller.
He is survived by his wife: Faye Miller of Liberty; sons: John Miller and wife Michelle of
Charleston, SC, Michael Miller of Beaumont, Todd Miller of Crosby; daughters: Rhonda Miller of Beaumont, Patricia Brandl and husband Darryl of Liberty, and Jennifer Bostwick and husband Thomas of Liberty; brothers: Eugene Labove and Richard Labove; also grandchildren: Marin Miller, Charles Miller, Tyler Bostwick, Austin Bostwick, Justin Miller, Jessica Brandl, Kayla Brandl, Taylor Brandl, Christopher Miller, Nikki Miller, Ricky Duartz, and Victor Jimenez.
Burns
James Earl “Pee Wee” Burns, Sr., 79, of Dayton, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty.
He was born on March 12, 1927 to Parents: Jack Burns and Mary Lois Alexander Burns. He was a welder for most of his life, loved his grandchildren very much and enjoyed raising cows, gardening and working on tractors. He was a retired member of the Pipefitters Local Union #211 and was Baptist by faith.
He is preceded in death by his Parents: Jack and Mary Burns and Sister: Bernice Burns.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 8, 2007 from 5:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.
He is survived by his Wife: Patricia Burns; Sons: James Burns, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Baytown and Rocky Burns and his wife Cindy of Baytown; Daughters: Bernice Frizzell of Dayton, Paula Jerkins and her husband Bobby of Huffman and Pam Burns of San Marcus, TX.; 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. on Friday, March 9, 2007 at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton with the Rev. Wilburn Snyder officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.
Lewis
Erniter Britton Babbs Lewis, 73, of Liberty, Texas, died on March 6, 2007. She was born August 20, 1933 in Galveston, Texas to Milton and Juanita L. Britton, Sr. who proceeded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Taft Lewis of Liberty, Texas; three brothers: Milton L. Britton, Jr. and Lillie, Dean Britton and Katherine, and Kiley Britton; three daughters: Yolanda Moye and Charles, Pamela Williams, and Juanita Nolley and Kevin; five sons: Jessi e C. Babbs, Sr. and Patricia, Tommie O. Babbs, Terrence R. Babbs and Lashanda, Herbert L. Babbs, Jr. and Nathan Babbs. Herbert and Nathan proceeded her in death; also 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren She was a baptized Jehovah Witness and remained faithful until her death.
Services for Mrs. Lewis will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah, 3620 Hwy 90 in Liberty, Texas. A special thanks to the Liberty Health Care Center and its residents for the love shown to our Mother (Mama Dear).
Manuel
Earl Davis Manuel, 89, of Dayton, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston.
He was born on July 21, 1917 in Washington County, Mississippi to Parents: Linzy Lee Manuel and Hallie Ray Neighbors Manuel. He was a veteran of the United States Navy for over 23 years having served in World War II, Korea and in Vietnam. He was a retired Machinist Mate in the petroleum industry and spent his days raising hunting dogs and trapping raccoons.
He is preceded in death by his Parents: Linzy Lee Manuel and Hallie Ray Neighbors Manuel and Daughter: Linda Gail Manuel.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 8, 2007 from 5:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Massey
Nelson Lee Massey, 49, of Raywood, died Monday, March 05, 2007 at Triumph East Hospital in Houston. He was born March 12, 1957 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to parents, Alphus Wayne and Frances Helen Nelson Massey. They had lived in the area off and on for many years, also in Alabama. He had worked as a roughneck in the oil industry, enjoyed working in the yard and fixing cars.
Services for Mr. Massey will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Pace- Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.
Mr. Massey was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by wife: Judy Fregia Massey of Raywood; his son: Alphus Massey and Stephanie of Raywood; one granddaughter on the way; his brothers: Wayne and Robert Massey of Alabama and his sister: Kay Dockley of Alabama; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Green
Daniel Franklin Green, 74, of Dayton, died on Thursday, March 1, 2007 surrounded by his family at his home in Dayton.
He was born on May 25, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Parents: Jefferson Franklin Green and Polly Ann Brown Green. Daniel was a mechanic by trade, had retired from Brown and Root, and was the co-founder, along with his brother Dickie of the Green Brothers Delivery Service. Foremost in his life was his love for the Lord. Daniel had served as a Deacon of the Church in the Victory Baptist Church in Baytown and was currently a Deacon at the Grace Community Baptist Church in Dayton. He was a dedicated Husband and Father and loved his family very much. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed Bluegrass and Gospel music. After retirement, Daniel was a very dedicated Funeral Director’s Assistant for several years in the Dayton area and will be missed by his many friends and co-workers in the Funeral Business.
He is preceded in death by his Parents; Brother: Elmer “Son” Green; Sisters: Ann Lois Moore and Velma Duncan; Great-Grandson: Caleb Green; Brother-in-law: Eddie Ashby and Fathers-in-law: Carl Ashby and Joseph Palermo.

Edwards
Funeral service for Eddie Edwards, 77, of Liberty, will be held on Friday March 2, at 11 am at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Greg Bellard, officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.
A native of Liberty, he was a construction worker, a former student of Liberty Training High School, he was a member of St. Miles Baptist Church and a long time employee of the City of Liberty.
He died on February 28, at Triumph East in Channelview, Texas after an illness.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of service at the church.
He is survived his wife, Loretta Freeman Edwards and daughter: Marcelle Jones of Houston, TX; two brothers: Foris Edwards and Loyce Edwards, both of Ames, TX. .and a host of other relative and friends.
Lewis
Funeral service for the Reverend Donald Lewis, 62, of Liberty, will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 11 am at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Dwight Pruitt, officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.
A native of Liberty, he was a minister, a graduate of West Liberty High School, and a correctional officer with the State of Texas.
He died February 24, at Triumph East, Channelview, Texas. He was a member of St. Miles Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of service at the church.
He is survived his stepson: Kelvin Mask of Beaumont and his daughter: Marquetta Lewis of Crockett, Texas; three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Broussard
Nathan Broussard, 63, of Liberty, died Monday, February 26, 2007 at Sea Breeze Healthcare Center in Texas City, Texas after a long illness.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 2 pm at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Liberty, with the Rev. Edwin Hardy, officiating.
A native of Liberty, Nathan is survived by one brother: Homer Broussard of Cleveland, Texas and a host of other family and friends.
Olecki
Elizabeth Anne "Grandma" Olecki, 56, of Atascocita, died Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the Northeast Medical Center in Humble.
She was born November 23, 1950 to her late Parents: John and Norma Kovoch. She was a former 16 year resident of the Liberty-Dayton area before joining her family in the Huffman-Atascocita area where she lived out her remaining years.
She was preceded in death by: Parents: John and Norma Kovoch. Survivors include: Son: Stephen Olecki and his wife Cynthia of Atascocita, Daughter: Megan Olecki and her Fiance‚ Mike Hanlon of Northridge, Ohio and Lawrence Olecki of Ames and numerous Grandchildren family and friends.
Elizabeth was a loving mother cherished grandmother and friend to all she met. She enjoyed spending time in her garden with her flowers and loved her cats, reading and spending time daydreaming in her favorite blue chair.
There will be a gathering of friends and family, Friday, March 2, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown located at 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Phone: 281-422-8111.
Pounders
Donald Burl Pounders, 61, of Dayton, died Thursday, February 22, 2007 at home after an extended illness.
He was born March 11, 1945 in Brady, Texas to parents, Burl and Ethelin Foreman Pounders. He had been a resident of Dayton for the past 10 years and was an employee of Schlumberger for over 19 years where he worked as a mechanical technician.
Services for Mr. Pounders will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Rev. Tony Rogers and Rev. Randy Fowler officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Earthman’s Resthaven in Houston. Visitation for Mr. Pounders will be Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Donald Gregory Pounders. He is survived by his wife: Martha Pounders of Dayton and son: Daniel Pounders; also three grandchildren.
Tripp
Mark Steven Tripp, 38, of Dayton, died on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at his residence.
He was born on July 11, 1968 in Salem, ILL. to Parents: Jack Tripp and Patricia Walker Tripp. Mark was a motocross enthusiast who competed in many competitions around the country. He was ranked 5th nationally in motocross and was a well trained and expert rider. He traveled extensively throughout the South with his employment in the industrial construction business; was an All-star Hockey and Baseball player, a huge NASCAR fan, loved hard rock and heavy metal music and was a fantastic friend and son.
He is preceded in death by his Grandfather: Jack Crowell; Grandmother: Sue Walker; Cousins: Cary Tripp and Brett Tripp and Uncle: Peter Wickham. He is survived by his Father: Jack Tripp of Dayton; Mother: Patricia Dooley of Illinois; Brother: Scott Tripp of Illinois; Brothers-in-arms: Larry Briggs of Baytown and Geoff Chaboude of Dayton; Grandfather: Bud Walker of Granite City, Illinois; Aunts: Paula Wickham of Belton, TX. and Kathy Exton of Illinois; Cousin: Buddy Tripp of Grand Tower, Illinois; Grandmother: Pauline Crowell of Cambria, Illinois; Uncle: Mickey Walker of Illinois and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

Berry
Charles Ray Berry, 60, of Dayton, died on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at his residence.
He was born on November 5, 1946 in Baytown, Texas, to Parents: Charles E. Berry and Dorothy Cummings Berry. He was a great husband and father and loved hunting and all things outdoors. He was always a very busy man and loved riding four wheelers.
He is preceded in death by his Parents; and Sister: Betty Hahn Atchly. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jean Thomas Altum, 80, of Saratoga, died on Saturday February 24, 2007 at her son’s residence in Texas City.
She was born in Jacksonville, Kentucky on March 22, 1926 to Parents: Wesley Thomas and Ethel Sewell Thomas.
She is survived by her Husband of Sixty-One years: Morgan Altum of Saratoga; Son: Eddie Altum of Texas City; Daughter: Rita Carlson and her husband Mike of Illinois and Grandchildren: Jason Carlson, Morgan Carlson, Crystal Altum and Joshua Altum.
A private family graveside service was held on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton.
Kahn
Funeral service or Patti Kahn, 65, of Moss Hill, will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Trinity Valley Baptist church with the Rev. Marvin Etheridge officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.
A native of California, she was a supervisor of the State Board of prisons in the state of California. She died on February 2122, 2007 at her residence after an illness.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church.
She is survived by her husband Robert Lee Albro of Moss Hill; three sons: David Rice and Mitchell Hite of Sacramento, CA also Lester McFearin of Redding, DA and a host of other relatives and friends.
