Willie Marie Calcote
Services for Willie Marie Calcote, 87, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Memory Cemetery with the Rev. J.T. Thomas officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Calcote died Friday at Greenbrier Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Jacksonville to W.F. and Omie Jerrells Oden.
Mrs. Calcote was a member of Norwood Heights Baptist Church. She was a sales clerk for K-Wolens Department Store.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Calcote, in 1995.
Mrs. Calcote is survived by daughters, Jerry Ann Douglass of Palestine and Beverly Jo Hughes of Houston; son, Allen Calcote of Tennessee Colony; brother, Durwood Oden of Mesa, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Marsha Gayle Mathis Bankston
Services for Marsha Gayle Mathis Bankston, 45, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel in Bellmead with the Rev. Joel Worthington officiating.
Mrs. Bankston died Monday in Palestine.
She was born Sept. 7, 1957, in Axtell.
Mrs. Bankston was a homemaker.
She is survived by her mother, Vera Mathis; daughters, Barbie Aguilar and Tasha Smith; sons, Justin Wilson, Chad Wilson and Casey Bankston; husband, Garland “Bubba” Bankston; brothers, Johnny Mathis and Kent Mathis; sister, Joyce Trlica; and five grandchildren.
After the services, the family will be at First Assembly of God in Bellmead.
Francis Lee Harper
Services for Frances Harper Lee, 64, of Tyler, will be at 11 a.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church of Fairfield with the Revs. Mike Prescott and the Rev. Charles Attebery officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield.
Mrs. Harper died Wednesday in Dallas.
Margaret L. “Peggy” Byron
Services for Margaret L. “Peggy” Byron, 53, of Balch Springs, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with the Rev. Morris Nelms officiating. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Willis Point under the direction on Allan Fuller Funeral Home.
Mrs. Byron died Thursday in a Dallas hospital.
She was born Nov. 10, 1948 in Corpus Christi to Robert Dale Jackson and Bette Jo Davis Jackson.
Mrs. Byron grew up in Freer and graduated from high school there. She attended Uvalde College. She was an administrative specialist with Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She had lived in DeSoto prior to moving to Balch Springs three years ago. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Dallas.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Byron of Balch Springs; her parents, Robert D. and Bette Jo Jackson of Goliad; sons, Robert Kramer of Conroe; daughters, Amanda Hylton of Varnville, S.C.; stepdaughters, Rebecca Nash of Dallas and Kathy Lynn Bustos of Forney; sister, Susan Moore of Tallahassee, Fla.; six grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Kenneth Lee Alford Sr.
Services for Kenneth Lee Alford Sr., 81, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Tom Rousseau officiating. Burial will follow in Land of Memory.
Mr. Alford died Wednesday afternoon at the VA hospital in Marlin.
He was born May 16, 1920 in Edgerly, La. to Benjamin Harrison Lee Alford and Lavada Ethel Leach Alford.
Mr. Alford retired after 20 years as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1936.
Mr. Alford was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Burks Alford; and sisters, Loretta Patton and Ruba Mae Schattel.
He is survived by daughter Patricia Evans of Palestine; son, Kenneth Lee Alford Jr. of Bellaire; a sister, Lavada Apodaca of Pasadena; brothers, Elmer Earl Alford and W.P Alford, both of Palestine; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be George Lee Patton, Larry Schattle, Jimmy Alford, Montee Poole, Calvin Patton, Dennis Ellison and Calvin Nichols.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Schattle, Randy Apodaca and Rusty Droby.

Matthew G. McBryde Jr.
Services for Matthew G. McBryde Jr., 64, of Palestine, will be at 6 p.m. today at Memory Lane Baptist Church with Bo Norris, Randall Reeves and Ed Davis officiating. In addition, a service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Wells with Ronald Witcher and Steve Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Wells under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. McBryde died Thursday at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 15, 1937 in Holdenville, Okla. to Matthew G. McBryde Sr. and Francis Margarite Middleton McBryde.
Mr. McBryde was a minister for Memory Lane Baptist Church for 15 years and for First Baptist Church in Wells for 17 years. He served 46 years in the ministry.
Mr. McBryde attended Little Rock Missionary Baptist Seminary and the Oklahoma Missionary Baptist Institute in Marlow, Okla. He was loyal to the American Baptist Association work and missionary work.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Warren Fulton McBryde.
Mr. McBryde is survived by his wife, Patsy McBryde of Palestine; daughter, Francis Nennette Chapmon of Wells; son, John Matthew McBryde of Illinois; sister Saundra Strindfellow of Holden, Okla.; brother, Victor Ross McBryde of Seattle; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Justin Bachman, Larry Pfeffer, Mureal Williams, Jimmy Martin, David Hopper and Kyle Hopper.
Honorary pallbearers will be Laerence Faulkner, Ed Bentley Jerrol Sharp, Duane Douthitt, Billy McKnight, Murkel Hopper, Carol W. Smith and Johnny Hearne.

Laura May Barnes Durham Ramsey
Services for Laura May Barnes Durham Ramsey, 94, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at East Hill Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Cover officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Ramsey died Thursday at Cartmell Home for the Aged.
She was born Oct. 26, 1907 in Palestine to George P. Barnes and Laura Graham Barnes.
Mrs. Ramsey taught piano lessons for many years. She formerly owned the Durham Motel. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, B.L. Durham; and her second husband, Fred Ramsey; and a sister, Eloise Nell.
Mrs. Ramsey is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Marcus Da Shawn Brown
Services for Marcus Da Shawn Brown, 22, of Athens, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church in Montalba with the Revs. Jessie Johnson, Harold Rogers and Tommy Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown died Sunday as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born Sept. 27, 1979, in Athens to Fannie McKinney and Bennie Brown.
Mr. Brown attended Palestine High School and then transferred to Athens High School in s1996. He played football and basketball and participated in track and field events.
He was an employee of the Tyler Pipe Company in Tyler. He attended House of Prayer in Athens.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by grandmothers, Pearlie Mae Jackson and Ida Mae Brown; and great-grandmother, James Ara Lane.
He is survived by his mother of Mesquite; father of Pleasant Grove; sister, Cherona M. Jones; and brother, Adrian McKinney, all of Mesquite.
Active pallbearers will be David Black, Jo Jo Black, Clarence Brown, Charles Hemphill, Joseph Jones, Reginal Robinson and Darrell Wair.
Honorary pallbearers will be classmates, friends and co-workers at Tyler Pipe Company.
Josephine Roselle Burrow Shuptrine
Services for Jospehine Roselle Burrow Shuptrine, 88, of Rusk, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Guiceland Cemetery with the Rev. Gloria Jennings officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
Mrs. Shuptrine died Tuesday in Rusk.
She was born March 18, 1914 in Slocum. She lived in Rusk for 15 years, and was a former resident of Alto.
Mrs. Shuptrine was a seamstress for a sewing factory in Jacksonville. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Shuptrine; and a son, John K. Shuptrine.
Mrs. Shuptrine is survived by a daughter, Jan Bradley of Rusk; sons, Russell Shuptrine and Frank Shuptrine, both of Rusk; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Paul Shuptrine, Keith Bradley, Mark Shuptrine, Brock Shuptrine, Ricky Shuptrine, Joshua Shuptrine and Craig Shuptrine.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
Mildred Nestor
Services for Mildred Nestor, 83, of Buffalo, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Beverly Tune officiating. Burial will follow in the Nestor Family Cemetery in Leon County.
Mrs. Nestor died Wednesday morning at Greenbrier Nursing Home.
She was born June 23, 1918 in Corinth to Bert and May V. Collins Garland.
Mrs. Nestor was a homemaker and a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Haywood Nestor, in 1999.
Mrs. Nestor is survived by sons, Weldon Nestor of Houston and Robert Nestor of Keechi; a sister, Helen Riddle of Tyler; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be William Nestor, Mary Nestor, Brent Nestor, Stacy Nestor, Teresa Nestor and Mary Ann Nestor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Roach, Fred D. Magouirk, Ernest Ferguson, Ernie Ferguson, Thomas Davis and Billy Carmichael.

Anna Marie Wallace
Services for Anna Marie Wallace, 26, of Kilgore, were at 10 a.m. today at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel of Kilgore. Burial followed at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart with the Rev. Howard Huhn officiating.
Ms. Wallace died Monday morning in Houston.
She was born Aug. 11, 1975, in Palestine.
Ms. Wallace attended Elkhart schools then moved to Liberty City, and graduated in 1994. She was active in band and flag corp.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Clayton Parker; and her stepfather, J.B. VanDeweghe.
Ms. Wallace is survived by her parents, Robert and Rickie Wallace of Longview, and George Wallace of Kilgore; siblings, Jennifer Cross, Leah Decco, Blake, Danny, and Lisa Wallace; grandparents, Gertrude Parker of Elkhart, and Melba and Gilbert Wallace of Slocum; and fiance, Gary L. Davis of Kilgore.
Memorials can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation branch in Houston.
Stephen Larry Morris
Services for Stephen Larry Morris, 47, of Austin, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield with the Rev. Don Thornton officiating. He will be cremated.
Mr. Morris died Monday in Austin.
He was born Nov. 28, 1954 in Fort Campbell, Ky.
Mr. Morris was an engineer for Motorola.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Jenean Morris of Austin; mother, Barbara Morris of Fairfield; sons, Brad Morris, Blake Morris and Brett Morris, all of Austin; grandfather, Bradford Hayden of Fairfield.
