Maxine Chambers Streetman
Services for Maxine Chambers Streetman, 80, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Roselawn Park with Dan Manuel officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Streetman died Tuesday night at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 22, 1922, in Anderson County to M.C. Chambers and Elizabeth Moore Chambers.
Mrs. Streetman was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Wade Streetman of Palestine; daughters, Karen Wolfe of Palestine and Ann Denson of Tyler; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Todd Armstrong, Kendall Armstrong, Dinah Denson Daly, Donald Denson II, Donovan Wade Denson, Ronnie Daly and Shellie Armstrong.

Dorothy Peacock
Services for Dorothy Peacock, 81, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Park with Ross Bryant officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Peacock died Tuesday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 25, 1921, in Waco to Loyd C. and Lucy B. Lane Woolridge.
Mrs. Peacock worked as a secretary for many years, and was retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by son, Dan Peacock of Palestine; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

James “Albert” Terry
Services for James “Albert” Terry will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Worth Hill Baptist Church of Fort Worth. Arrangements are under the direction of Morris-Bates Mortuary in Fort Worth.
Mr. Terry died Monday in a Fort Worth hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ira Mae Terry; parents, Louis and Alberta Terry; brother, Thurman Terry; and sister, Connie Lee Jackson.
Mr. Terry is survived by son, James Earl Terry of Fort Worth; brother, Luther C. Terry of Tennessee Colony; sisters, Mary D. Hutchison and Void Mae Reed, both of Palestine.
A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Billy D. Blackshear
Services for Billy D. Blackshear, 61, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Inspiring Body of Christ Church in Dallas. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Palestine. Arrangements are under the direction of Randall Funeral Home of Dallas. Local arrangements are by Emanuel Funeral Home of Palestine.
Mr. Blackshear died Sunday.
Visitation will be held at 7 p.m. today at Greater El Bethel Baptist Church in Dallas.
Jennie V. Selden
Services for Jennie V. Selden, 90, of Palestine, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Selden died Thursday at Cartmell Home for the Aged.
Helen Mitchell

Mrs. Mitchell died Friday afternoon at Dogwood Trails Advanced Care Center.
Charlene L. Thomas-Johnson
Services for Charlene L. Thomas- Johnson of Nacogdoches will be at 11 a.m. today at Sid Roberts Funeral Home in Nacogdoches. Burial will follow in Redland Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thomas- Johnson died Aug. 22.
She is survived locally by her father, the Rev. J.C. Johnson.
Mildred Puppelo
Services for Mildred Puppelo, 81, of Buffalo, were held Thursday at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston. Local arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo.
Mrs. Puppelo died Tuesday in Buffalo.
She was born in New York City, N.Y.
Mrs. Puppelo moved to Buffalo seven years ago from Katy. She retired as a telephone operator from Southwestern Bell. She was a member of Blessed Kateri Roman Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son.
Mrs. Puppelo is survived by daughter, Joanne Zapolski of Buffalo; four sisters; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bernice Hazel Allen
Services for Bernice Hazel Allen, 83, of Fairfield, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with John Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen died Thursday in Fairfield.
She was born March 22, 1919 in Pitcher, Okla. to Lonnie P. and Matilda Guest.
Mrs. Allen was a retired seamstress and was a member of Church of Christ in Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Allen.
Mrs. Allen is survived by daughters, Tommie Ellis of Cherry Valley, Calif. and Jeanette Perkins of Redlands, Calif.; sister, Pauline Manahan of Fairfield; brother, Raymond Joseph Guest of Redlands, Calif.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bernice M. Bell
Services for Bernice M. Bell, 84, of Tyler, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Bailey & Foster Chapel with Warren King officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Park.
Mrs. Bell died Saturday at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.
She was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Wise County to Charlie Albert Rhine and Minnie Sue Louder Rhine.
Mrs. Bell was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bell, in 1994.
Mrs. Bell is survived by daughters, Sabra Bell Hannah of Tyler and Joyce Bell O’Sullivan of Las Vegas; son, Don C. Bell of Palestine; brother, Claude “Bud” Rhine of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

David Auther Roe
Services for David Auther Roe, 90, of Teague, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Teague with the Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Driver Cemetery in Teague.
Mr. Roe died Saturday at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield.
He was born July 15, 1912, in Dallas.
Mr. Roe was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 57 years. He was reared a Master Mason in West Columbia at St. John’s Lodge No. 5. He later was a charter member and served as the first Master of the Albert J. DeLange Lodge No. 1403 in Houston. He affiliated with Boggy Lodge No. 739 in Teague in 1990 and remained an active member.
He was a former resident of Houston and had lived in Teague for 25 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Teague, served as a deacon and taught Spanish Sunday school at one time.
Mr. Roe was an active member of the senior citizens center and was a charter member of the Kitchen Band.
Earlier in life he had worked as a pipeline supervisor for a petroleum company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rubye Roe.
Mr. Roe is survived by son, David A. Roe Jr. of Glenndale, Ariz.; daughter, LaVan Roe Harris of Austin; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and special friend, Geraldine Gelston of Teague.
Pallbearers will be members of Masonic Lodge No. 739, Bobbie Few, Jim Jordan, Fred Roe Eppes, Kerry Smith, Keith Chambers and Bill Noland.
Honorary pallbearers will be West Branch, Chuck Harris, Kyle Harris, James Harris, Rat Terry and David A. Roe III.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Edward Garland Smitherman
Services for Edward Garland Smitherman, 52, of Austin, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Smitherman died Saturday in Kyle.
He was born Feb. 22, 1950, in Waco.
Mr. Smitherman was a carpenter and a Baptist.
He is survived by his mother, Katherine Prue of Austin; daughters, Alena Kay Jordan and Alisha Lee Smitherman, both of El Mott; sisters, Janice Louise Owens of Spring and Wanda Lee Barker of Kyle; and two grandchildren.

Jimmie Roberts Richey

Mrs. Richey died Tuesday at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in Waco.
She was born Feb. 3, 1936 in Teague.
Mrs. Richey was a LVN. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.H. and Nona Laningham Roberts.
Mrs. Richey is survived by a son, Joe Richey of Waco; daughters, Sandra Richey of Mexia and Brenda Cox of Keller; brothers, Haskell Roberts of Dew, Dennis Roberts of Daingerfield and Kenneth Roberts of Teague; sisters, June Smith of Teague and Beverly Farris of Palestine; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Ray Alverson
Services for Ray Alverson, 69, of Crockett, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of Callaway-Allee Funeral Home in Crockett.
Mr. Alverson died Friday at his residence.
He was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Lovelady.
Mr. Alverson had lived in Crockett all of his life. He was a Baptist and a retired truck driver.
He is survived by daughters, Wanda Shipman and Cecelia Gay Alverson, both of Odessa, and Denise Doty and Pattie Joe Alverson, both of Austin; sons, Guinn Harvey Alverson and Allen Ray Alverson, both of Odessa, John Woodard of Victoria and Olan Ray Alverson of Crockett; sister, Elsie Hester of Palestine; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Oneida Stapp Hollaway
Services for Dr. Oneida Stapp Hollaway of Athens were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel in Crockett. Burial followed in Latexo Cemetery.
Dr. Hollaway died Friday.
She was reared in Crockett. She attended Sam Houston State University and East Texas State University where she earned a Ph.D in English. She taught at numerous colleges, including Lee Bible College in Tennessee.
Dr. Hollaway was a life member of the Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Outy Lester Stapp.
Dr. Hollaway is survived by her husband, James Boyd Hollaway of Athens; sons, Leland Stapp of Athens and Perry Stapp of Lufkin; sisters, Earlene Brock of Lufkin, Zelma Wilson of Wichita Falls, Lowell Mayrant of Huntsville and Eulene Milwee of Crockett; and three grandchildren.
