Funeral Service for Francis Edwards, 82, of Liberty, Texas, will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010, 11:00 A.M. at Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Liberty, with the Reverend Aristolle Thomas, Pastor, officiating, burial in Wells Memorial cemetery, Liberty, under the direction of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty, TX.
Born in Liberty, Texas, Mr. Edwards was a truck driver.
He died on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Liberty Health Care Center.
Visitation will be from 9AM until time of service at the church. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Adams, eight daughters: Mary Broussard of Raywood, Patricia Tippins of Houston, Dorothy Haley of Liberty, Gwen Ceaser of Raywood, Barbara Jacobs and Sharon Lewis of Liberty, Iris Boston of Dayton and Beverly Allison of Ville Platte, Louisiana; one sister Bernice Redmond of Liberty; twenty four grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and a host of other family members and friends.
Lognion
Carrie Lognion, 71, of Liberty, died Tuesday September 28, 2010 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
A native and life long resident of Liberty she was a homemaker. Carrie loved doing crafts, canning foods, and family gatherings.
Carrie is survived by her husband Paul M. Lognion of Liberty, TX., Son; Boyd A. Lognion and wife Georgia of Hardin, Daughters; Phyllis Lewing of Liberty, TX, Tina Marie Reed and husband Tom of Hardin., and Denise Frankum and husband Danny of Hardin. Carrie had Nine Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday September 30, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services. Cremation to follow.

Theresa Nadara Willette, 43, died on Sunday, September 26, 2010.
Theresa was born in Long Beach, CA on Sunday, December 25, 1966. Theresa was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Theresa is survived by her loving parents Gisela and Jim Payne of Romayor, TX; brother, James Payne, Jr. and wife Toni; sister, Elizabeth Garner; nieces, Christine Kemp, Cassie Kemp, Kathrine Payne; nephew, Andrew Payne and her loving puppy Molly.
Visitation will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 7:00pm.
Darrington
Funeral Service for Mrs. Theresa Carrington, 85, of Double Bayou, TX, will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Double Bayou, with the Reverend Pastor Mary Shotlow, officiating, Reverend L. C. Speights, Eulogist, burial in Mt. Zion cemetery, Double Bayou, TX., under the direction of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty, TX.
A resident of the Anahuac Area, she attended school in Double Bayou, was a homemaker and worked as a cook in Chambers County. Mrs. Carrington was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church working as Church Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Choir President, Mission President, also working with the Vacation Bible School.
Mrs. Carrington died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at her residence.
Visitation will be at the church from 9am until time of service.
She is survived by one son: Estie Carrington, one daughter: Dianne Carrington Gradney; one brother: Henry Bert Lewis, two sisters: Odie Pearl West and Dean Nichols, all of Double Bayou; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
McKeand
Joshua Kenneth Lee McKeand, 27, of Dayton, died on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his residence.
Memorial Services have been set for 10:00 am on Tuesday in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Palms Memorial Park .
Josh was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Irvil Lloyd Self, and Bill McKeand; cousin, Klup McKeand. Joshua was known as the “Preacher Boy” with a smile that could light up the world. He had a heart big as the world and would help anyone in need. Joshua will be dearly missed.

Smith
Dahlia Laverne Whittle Smith, 90, of Liberty, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 peacefully at her home.
She was born January 9, 1920 in Ringgold, Texas to parents Walter J. and Tinnie Bell Clary Whittle. Mrs. Smith was a longtime resident of Dayton, graduating from Dayton High School in 1937. She later attended Lee College and Lamar Tech, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Dayton and a member of the Hardin United Methodist Church. Her creativity was shown in her painting, sewing, cooking and gardening.
Services for Mrs. Smith will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2010 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gideon Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Vernon Seekamp and Robert C. Smith, Sr. and her brother: Rex Whittle.
She is survived by her son: Bob Smith and wife Jane of Thicket; her daughters: Beth Casarez and husband Simon of Houston; Roberta Smith of Corpus Christi and Candace Colby and husband Jack of Eagle River, Wisconsin; Five grandchildren: Jennifer Lewis, John Lewis, Jessica Casarez, Robert Smith, and Anna Smith; one great-grandchild: Hayden Lewis; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Bandy
Altha Jewel Bandy, 83, of Sour Lake, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Village Creek Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Lumberton.
A native and life long residence of Sour Lake, she was a homemaker and caregiver and also a member of The Apostolic Lighthouse Church of Sour Lake, formerly the First United Pentecostal Church of Sour Lake.
She is survived by her Sister Bertchel Stephens of Sour Lake, Seven nephews and one niece and a host of other family members and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday September 28, 2010 at 10:00A.M. at The Apostolic Lighthouse Church of Sour Lake, with Reverend Everett Miller and Reverend Randy Davis officiating, interment will follow at the Pine Ridge cemetery also of Sour Lake.
Pallbearers are David Bandy, Herbert Castolina, James McCullough, John McCullough, Barney Stephens, Billy Stephens.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday September 27, 2010 beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. also at the church.

Smith
Marvin H. Smith, age 68, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Marvin was born December 5, 1942 in Jacksonville, Texas the son of the late Woodrow Smith and Wanda Folkes Smith. He was self employed as the owner and operator of H&S Tire and Alignment. He enjoyed watching football, cooking shows, and any event involving his beloved grandchildren. He was a 1962 graduate of Liberty High School, where he earned honors playing football as a linebacker. Marvin served in the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Lions Club, Lifetime member of the VFW Post #5621, and participated in many youth programs.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Alva Pearl Smith of Liberty, daughter Cedia Vaught and her companion Doug Andrews of Etoile, TX, son Shane Smith and wife Kasey of Frisco, TX, step-son Kenny Collins and his companion Becca Speer of Liberty, nephew Vernon Smith and wife Tina of Saratoga, sister Jean Stanley of Saratoga, adopted daughters Michelle Turley and Terri Fairchild, grandchildren, Autumn, Trent, Andrew, Jordan Shane, Philip, Haleigh, Jordan, Hannah, Anna, and Ashlyn, and his caretakers, Holly, Debra, and Diana.
Visitation for Marvin will be held Monday, September 27, 2010 from 5-8 PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 28 at 10AM in Cooke Memorial cemetery.

Rebecca Lynn “Becca” Hurta, 20, of Dayton, died Friday, September 24, 2010, in Dayton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Becca was born January 25, 1990 in Baytown to parents; Russell and Vickie Eddleman Hurta, and has resided in Dayton for the past 15 years. She was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 2009 where she was involved in Drama and employed as a cashier for Dollar General. She also enjoyed reading, collecting dolphins, scrapbooking, and her dog.
Becca was preceded in death by her great-grandmother: Johnnie Popp, and grandparents: Johnnie F., Sr. and Betty Jean Hurta. She is survived by her parents: Russell and Vickie Eddleman Hurta of Dayton, brother: Scott Hurta and fiancé Stephanie of Dayton, as well as her fiancé: Dalton Duncan of Dayton, grandparents: Jiggs and Dorothy Eddleman of Baytown, aunts: Debbie Campbell of Dayton, Linda Corley of Highlands, Bonnie Mason of Highlands, Clara Navarre of Baytown, Hazel Tanner of Baytown, Lois Rather and husband Dillard of Corpus Christi, and Karen Stegill of Ft. Worth, uncles: Lawrence Eddleman of Baytown, Don Ray Popp of Baytown, John F. Duncan
Delana Michelle Duncan, 18, of Dayton, died Friday, September 24, 2010.
She was born May 15, 1992 in Baytown, Texas to parents: Dustin C. Duncan and Deana Ford Duncan. Delana was a lifelong resident of Dayton, attended Dayton Schools, graduated in 2010 from Dayton High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Art Club. She was currently attending Lamar University and had a passion to become a graphic designer. Delana enjoyed designing clothes, photography, computer, animals and most of all her love for her family.
Services for Delana will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church, 3536 FM 1008, Dayton, TX.
Officiating will be Bro. Jeff Day and interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Sunday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.
Delana was preceded in death by her grandparents: Marie and Ray Duncan. She is survived by her parents: Dustin and Deana Ford Duncan of Dayton; her brothers: Dalton and Dusty Duncan of Dayton; her grandparents: Charlie and Mary Duke of San Augustine; her great-grandmother: Dora Bennefield of San Augustine; one great uncle, ten aunts and uncles, eleven cousins, and one on the way; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Haynes
Funeral Service for Mother Bell Haynes, 93, of Liberty, will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010, 11:00 A.M. at Godfrey Chapel Church of God in Christ, 508 Lamar Street, with Elder Kendrek D. Herron, Pastor, officiating, Apostle Jerry Haynes, Eulogist, with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery, under the direction of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty.
A native of Wallisville, Texas, she was educated in the Devers School District. She accepted Christ at a young age at the Devers Church of God in Christ. Mother Haynes later moved to Liberty where she united with Godfrey Chapel Church of God in Christ where she was an usher, sang in the Adult Choir and was the Mission President, later to become the Church Mother. A devoted Christian for over forty years, she was an influential individual both at The Baytown District and the Texas Southeast First Jurisdiction, going across country to International Church of God In Christ Conventions.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 AM until time of service. She leaves to cherish her memory two nieces: Betty Dorsey and Bertha White and a host of other relatives and friends.
Chaumont
David N. Chaumont, age 55, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Lago Vista, Texas.
David was born in Baytown, June 15, 1955 the son of Adam Huey Chaumont and Bertha LeJeune Chaumont. He was a 1973 graduate of Liberty High School, and owner operator of Environmental Earthwise in Mont Belvieu. David loved to be on the water, whether water skiing or just a boat ride. He enjoyed cooking, and was a people person, always wanting to be with family.
He leaves behind his wife Kimberly R. Dent-Chaumont of Humble, daughters Kayla Chaumont of Houston, Kristin Chaumont of Austin, and Summer Gil of Katy, two grandchildren, Skyler and Bryson Gil, and his parents Adam Huey and Bertha Chaumont of Liberty.
A memorial service will be held two o’clock in the afternoon, Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Elton Glenn Poland, 77, of Honey Island, died September 22, 2010 at his residence in Honey Island.
Funeral service will be held Friday September 24, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Faith & family Funeral Services with Reverend Earl Crawford officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday September 23, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.at the funeral home.
A native of Bessie Mae Texas he had lived in Honey Island many years and was a Tool Pusher for High Island Lease Service and A U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. he was also a Deacon at The Happy Valley Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maude Poland of Honey Island, Sons; David Glenn Poland and wife Libby of Saratoga, Paul Keith Poland and wife Lois, James Larry Poland and wife Dee Dee, and Billy DeWayne Poland and wife Janice all of Kountze. Grandchildren 14, and Great Grandchildren 16. Elton was preceded in Death by his brother, Gilbert Keith Poland, and Wayne Eli Poland. His Parents James Eli Poland and Odessa Thompson. Mother-in-law Lena Fregia. Serving as pallbearers are James Poland, Keith Poland, Wayne Adams, Greg Simek, Jesse Flowers and David Aaron Spurgeon. Honorary pallbearers are Britt Baker, Dr. Michael Holmes and Everett Ootz.
