A.C. “Punk” Heil
Services for A.C. “Punk” Heil, 72, of Buffalo, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo with Jimmy Stevens and Ernest Finley officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo City Cemetery.
Mr. Heil was a retired real estate developer. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry H. Heil and Thelma Fougeron.
Mr. Heil is survived by his wife, Mary “Mickey” Hunter Heil; son, Randy Heil of Centerville; daughter, Cynthia Ann Sutherland of Calif. and Lindy Bass of Kilgore; brothers, Wayne Heil of Alabama, Darrel “Tex” Heil of Minnesota, Ed “Bud” Heil of Alabama, Dave Heil of Ennis, Jerry “Jebo” Heil and David Heil, both of Washington D.C., Dean “Fitty” Heil of Houston, and Daniel Heil of Security; a sister, Wanda Statum of Conroe; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Wilson, Tom Holmes, Richard Jacobs, Dennis Smith, Jody Grandberry, Grant Heil, and Tom Davis.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Edward Dremond Ivey
Services for Edward Dremond Ivey, 67, of Crosby, were at 11 a.m. today at Felders Chapel with the Revs. Randy Shipman and Morris Ivey officiating. Burial followed in San Pedro Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Ivey died Monday at Memorial Plaza Hospital in Port Lavaca.
He was born Nov. 25, 1934 in Grapeland to Earl and Reba Owens Ivey.
Mr. Ivey was a salesman. He graduated from Baylor University in 1957. He was the past master of Augusta Lodge No. 93 AF&AM and past president of the Rotary Club.
Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by his father, Earl Ivey.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ivey of Crosby; his mother, Reba Ivey of Grapeland; a son, Cliff Lane Ivey of Fort Smith, Ark.; brothers, Boyce Ray Ivey of Palestine and James Ivey of Orange; and two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the San Pedro Cemetery Association, Rt. 2, Box 66, Grapeland, Texas 75844.
Jim Blocker
Funeral arrangements for JimBlocker, 66, of Flo, are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Blocker died Monday at his home. He was cremated.
Mark Gibson
Services for Mark Gibson, 43, of Seward, Alaska, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the County Line Baptist Church in Bullard with the Rev. Tom Pesnell officiating. Burial will be in Funderburk Family Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Friday under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Gibson died Tuesday at his home in Seward.
He was born Oct. 30, 1958 in Pasadena to Perry and Connie Young Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was a native of Palestine. He was employed with Red Dog Mining Company in Kotzebue, Alaska. He was a member of the “Harley Club.”
Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Thomas Young and Perry Gibson; and a grandmother, Della Morrison.
He is survived by his parents of Bullard; grandmother, Mildred Young of Palestine; brother, Rusty Gibson of Pasadena.
Condolence calls will be received from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at County Line Baptist Church in Bullard.
Dolores Guarnieri Stuckert
Funeral mass for Dolores Guarnieri Stuckert was held Sept. 4 at the Church of St. Jean Baptiste in Quevaucamps, Belgium. She died Aug. 30, at ULB Erasme Hospital in Brussels, Belgium.
She is survived locally by daughter, Lisa East of Jacksonville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Corinne E. Sheffield
Services for Corinne E. Sheffield, 95, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sheffield died Friday at her home.
She was born Dec. 11, 1906 in Palestine to James A. and Ella Burgess Lacy.
Mrs. Sheffield graduated from Lincoln High School and attended the University of Southern California. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church for 84 years, serving as mission president, Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible school teacher and church clerk.
Mrs. Sheffield was preceded in death by he husband, Edward Sheffield; daughter, June Sheffield; and five siblings.
She is survived by daughters, Bobbie Commodoe and Audrey Sheffield; son, Charles Sheffield; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Active pallbearers will be Roy Jamerson, Dedric Lacy, Eric Lacy, Paul Lawrence Lacy, James W. Page and Ronald Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

Michael Leroy McKissic
Services for Michael Leroy McKissic, 54, of Palestine, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Hope Baptist Church with Jack A. Crane officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hope Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mr. McKissic died Saturday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 23, 1948, in Palestine to Richard and Vannie Lee Stephen McKissic.
Mr. McKissic received his education in Palestine public schools. He was an usher and member of South Union Baptist Church.
Mr. McKissic was a longtime employee of Vernon Calhoun Packing plant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Vannie Lee Cravin and Veoletta Pinson.
Mr. McKissic is survived by a sister, Bettie Hollie of Forth Worth; and brother, Richard McKissic Jr. of Palestine.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Ettalu Ritchey
Services for Ettalu Ritchey, 64, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Ross Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park.
Mrs. Ritchey died this morning at Home Place in Tyler.
She was born Oct. 30, 1938, in Montalba to Ernest and Hester Johnson Brooks.
Mrs. Ritchey was a Baptist and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, R.B. Brooks and Huey Brooks.
Mrs. Ritchey is survived by her husband, Paul Ritchey of Palestine; son, James Alan Ritchey of Houston; sisters, Joy Tippen and Doris Selman, both of Palestine; brothers, Earnest J. Brooks of Elkhart and Clarence Brooks of Paris; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Brooks, Robert Brooks, Dave Brooks, Terry Atkinson, Tim Atkinson and David Ritchey.

Donald Spencer Hurley
Donald Spencer Hurley, 66, died Sunday in Palestine at the home of his daughter. There will be no services.
Mr. Hurley will be cremated. Emanuel Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mr. Hurley was born April 30, 1936 in Munson, Ill. to Elmer and Joyce Forbes Hurley.
He was a Baptist and worked many years for the Oklahoma State Highway Department.
Mr. Hurley was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Emily Pickard.
He is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Pickard and Krisitie Jones, both of Palestine; sister, Mary Jane Norville of Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren.

Nicholas Modisette
Services for Nicholas Modisette, 25, of Lufkin, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with the Revs. Mark Allen and Kevin Poage officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Mr. Modisette died Saturday at a local hospital.
He was born Jan. 12, 1978, in Lufkin.
Mr. Modisette was employed with Capco Contractors. He was a 1996 graduate of Central High School. He was an avid duck hunter and enjoyed baseball and team roping. He attended First Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his beloved companion, Jennifer Modisette of Central; father and stepmother, Roy Lee and Margie Lanell Modisette of Allentown; mother and stepfather, Deborah Sepulveda and Chris Neal of Palestine; sisters, Leigh Ann Modisette of Allentown and Gretchen Bailes of Palestine; brothers, Cheyenne Sepulveda and Jacob Neal, both of Palestine; grandmother, Doris Modisette of Allentown; grandparents, Joe and Bonnie Meyer of Palestine; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; and lifelong friends, Jeff Sanders and Matt Parker, both of Allentown.
Pallbearers will be Brandon McGee, Matt Parker, Jeff Sanders, Josh Allen, Josh Dixon, Heath Choate, Matt Sanders and Scott McDaniel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Talbert, Brad Hamilton and John Allen.

Juanita Jones
Services for Juanita Fae Jones, 79, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones died Saturday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Graham to Byron V. and Addie B. Thomas Wallis.
Mrs. Jones had lived in Anderson County for 26 years coming from Florida. She was a retired bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Jones in December 1995; and brother, Billy Eugene Wallis.
Mrs. Jones is survived by sons, Harold David Jones of St. Petersburg, Fla., Robert Warren Jones of Palestine and Charles Alan Jones of Palestine; brothers, Herman V. Wallis of Kerrville, William E. Wallis of San Antonio, Frederick L. Wallis of Garden Dale and Ronald R. Wallis of Palestine; and grandchildren, Daren Jones, Michael Jones, Virginia Hildebrandt and Steven Jones.

Elizabeth Donnell
