Betty Schitoskey
Services for Betty Schitoskey, 73, of Huntsville, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Palestine City Cemetery with Alex Kobar officiating. Burial will be in Palestine City Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Schitoskey died Dec. 28 in Huntsville Memorial Hospital,
She was born June 27, 1929 in Elkhart to Hoyt Scott and Tressie Rutledge Scott.
Mrs. Schitoskey was a member of the Catholic Church. She was an apartment manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Schitoskey.
Mrs. Schitoskey is survived by daughters, Patricia Crowell and Janet Johnson, both of Huntsville; sisters, Mary Ann Smith of Kansas and Margaret Fleming of Houston; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Louise Moore Cook
Services for Louise Moore Cook, 81, of Palestine, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jeff Cover officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cook died Wednesday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 16, 1920, in Rockwall to Jacob Marion “Pop” Moore and Mary Ann Thompson Moore.
Mrs. Cook was reared in Rockwall and resided in Dallas until moving to Palestine in 1946. She and her husband worked together in a variety of endeavors including a small loan business, Thomas Furniture, The Highlander/Sands Motel, and as real estate agents at Town and Country Realtors. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she held many offices within the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Thomas E. Cook Jr., in May 1989; brother, Tom Moore; and sisters, Billie Moore Archie, Jess Moore Seale and Bea Moore Littlepage.
Mrs. Cook is survived by son, Thomas E. Cook III of Galveston; daughters, Nancy Shell of Ashville, N.C. and Dana Staples of Palestine; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thomas E. Cook IV, Paige Cook Bloodworth, Scott Smith, Susy Smith, Grant Staples, Scott Staples and Jordan Staples.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Marguerite McGeHee
Services for Marguerite McGeHee, 87, of Frankston, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Frankston City Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. McGeHee died Wednesday night at East Texas Medical Center in Jacksonville.
She was born Jan. 23, 1915, in Anderson County to William Hugh and Ada Martin Willingham.
Mrs. McGeHee was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Frankston.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Beulah McGeHee and Myrtle Richardson; and brother, H.B. Willingham.
Mrs. McGeHee is survived by her husband, Troy Travis McGeHee of Frankston; daughters, Mary Rogers and Joy Caveness, both of Frankston; sons, Jerry McGeHee of Willis, Troy McGeHee of Mount Vernon and Tommy McGeHee of Jones Creek; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hoss McGeHee, Robert Caveness, David Sallee, Matt Johnson, Justin Mitelka and Mark Sustaire.

Elizabeth Ann Thornton
Services for Elizabeth Ann Thornton, 76, of Encinitas, Calif., and formerly of Palestine, were held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Encinitas. Inurnment was held at San Luis Rey Mission Cemetery in Oceanside, Calif.
She was cremated under the direction of Accu-Care Cremation Center.
Mrs. Thornton died Aug. 28.
She was born July 19, 1926, in Foxboro, Mass.
Mrs. Thornton was a retired telephone operator. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She graduated from Mission San Luis Rey Academy of Little Flowers, where she was valedictorian. She received an Associates of Arts degree from Oceanside-Carlsbad Junior College where she also was valedictorian. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, George W. Thornton Sr. of Encinitas; son, George Thornton Jr. of Santee, Calif.; daughters, Joyane Harden and Mary Moore both of Encinitas, and Shari B. Mackin of Oceanside; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Mission San Luis Rey Restoration Fund, 4050 Mission Ave., Oceanside, Calif., 92057.

Mark William Dickey Jr.
Services for Mark William Dickey Jr., 52, of Palestine, were at 3 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel.
Mr. Dickey died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 19, 1950, in Alberta, Canada to Mark W. Dickey and Jimmie Jones Dickey.
Mr. Dickey had lived in the East Texas area for the past nine years, coming from Louisiana. He was a member of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by sons, Mark William Dickey III and Steven Matthew Dickey, both of Houma, La.; daughters, Katrin Dickey Yorgason, Erin Ashley Dickey and Sarah Elizabeth Dickey, all of Houma; sister, Dorothy Watkins of Palestine; and one granddaughter.
Jean K. Johnson

Ettalu Ritchey
Services for Ettalu Ritchey, 64, of Palestine, were at 1 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Ross Bryant officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Park.
Mrs. Ritchey died Tuesday evening at Home Place in Tyler.
She was born Oct. 30, 1938, in Montalba to Ernest and Hester Johnson Brooks.
Mrs. Ritchey was a Baptist and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, R.B. Brooks and Huey Brooks.
Mrs. Ritchey is survived by her husband, Paul Ritchey of Palestine; son, James Alan Ritchey of Houston; sisters, Joy Tippen and Doris Selman, both of Palestine; brothers, Earnest J. Brooks of Elkhart and Clarence Brooks of Paris; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Phillip Brooks, Robert Brooks, Dave Brooks, Terry Atkinson, Tim Atkinson and David Ritchey.

Iva Thompson
Services for Iva Thompson, 87, of Elkhart, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Dub Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Chambers Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson died Wednesday morning at Spring Seasons of Elkhart.
She was born Aug. 10, 1915, in Elkhart to James Monroe and Rillie Garner Hamby.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church of Elkhart. She was a quilt maker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lee Thompson, in 1963; daughters, Betty Coble in 1993 and Judy Thompson in 1964; sister, Viola Brooks; brothers, Norman Hamby, J.C. Hamby and Homer Hamby; and grandchildren, Tommy Thompson, Brian Barksdale and Brandy Thompson.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by daughters, Dorothy Hopkins of Greenville, Sonia Bridges Vincent of Lake Ioni and Joyce Reed of Denson Springs; sons, Charles Thompson of Quitman, Jimmy Thompson of Elkhart, Harry Thompson of Athens and Aaron Thompson of Rosharon; sister, Lurlin Brown of Elkhart; brother, Wayne Hamby of Elkhart; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Morris died Wednesday morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 18, 1911, in Limestone County to Oscar L. and Franie Pierce Brooks.
Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Morris, in 1981.
Mrs. Morris is survived by sons, Joe Morris of Palestine, Donald Morris of Elkhart, Royce Morris of Palestine, Kenneth Morris of Kilgore and David Morris of Arlington; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Cheryl Lynn Thomas, 22, of Waco, and formerly of Grapeland, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church in Grapeland with the Rev. Delbert R. Session officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Gate Cemetery in Grapeland under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home in Crockett.
Ms. Thomas died Jan. 4 at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in Waco.
She was born March 13, 1980 in Grapeland to Gene Lee Roy and Frankie Mae Wilmore Thomas.
Ms. Thomas attended and received her education in the Grapeland Independent School District. She furthered her education at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and later at McClennon College in Waco where she was a junior. She was a member of the Open Door Church in Waco.
She is survived by her parents, Gene Lee Roy Thomas of Crockett and Frankie May Thomas of Grapeland; brothers, Kenneth Thomas of Grapeland, Michael Thomas, Rogene Hart, and Christopher Scott, all of Crockett; sisters, Cynthia Scott, Rene Harper and Tenisha Scott, all of Crockett, Jeanetta Johnigan of San Jose, Calif., and Karin Davis of Grapeland.
Cindy Lorraine Neal
Services for Cindy Lorraine Neal, 41, of Crockett, formerly of San Antonio, will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church in Crockett. Funeral services will be Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Home in San Antonio, with burial to follow in Southern Memorial Park in San Antonio under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Crockett.
Mrs. Neal was born Aug. 7, 1960 in San Antonio. She graduated from Phyllis Wheatly High School in San Antonio. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Booker T. Neal Jr. and Margie Estell Dibrell Neal; and a brother, Ronnie Dewayne Neal Sr.
Mrs. Neal is survived by daughters, Treshina M. Smith- Johnson of Fort Raleigh, Kan., and Trama S. Neal; grandmother, Margie Brown of San Antonio; bothers, Taliaferro Neal of Seguin, Robert R. Neal of San Antonio, Oroid Neal of Dallas; sisters, Linda Neal of Crockett, Edna M. Neal White; and one grandson.
Marian Jane LeBlanc
Services for Marian Jane LeBlanc, 70, of Angleton, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holiday Lake Baptist Church in Angleton. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery in Humble under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Crockett.
Mrs. LeBlanc died Thursday at Hermann Medical Center in Houston.
She was born Nov. 15, 1931 in Houston to William Thompson and Claudine Elizabeth Shepherd Longnecker.
Mrs. LeBlanc graduated from South Houston High School. She was an office supervisor for Brown & Cott Laboratory. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Houston Height No. 258 for many years.
Mrs. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her husband, Larry E. LeBlanc; and a brother, Jimmy Longnecker.
She is survived by a son, Tom N. LeBlanc Sr. of Angleton; a sister, Betty Jo Young of Houston; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Glen Mortenson

Drucillias Birdow Byrd
Services for Drucillias Birdow Byrd, 76, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Myron Waddle officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Byrd died Tuesday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 22, 1926 in Palestine to Roosevelt and Lola Bell Barrett Birdow.
Mrs. Byrd attended Palestine public schools. She lived in Dallas for many years before returning to Palestine.
She was preceded in death by her brother, George Birdow; sister, Delores Atkins; and a son, Louis Jones.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by daughters, Lola Criss and Lois Thomas, both of Palestine, Katie Hodge of Dallas; and son, Leon Jones of Dallas.
Pallbearers will be Chris Coleman, Henry Criss, Ronald Criss and Derrick Henderson.
