Curry
Una Marie Curry, 86, of Spring, TX, died on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Vista Hospice in Conroe. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Icet Family cemetery in Cove, Texas. A gathering of Una's family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Curry was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Clarence Curry Jr.; son, Marion Clarence Curry III. Una loved growing African Violets.
Una is survived by her sons, James Michael Curry, Steven Wayne Curry; grandchildren, Zachary Curry and wife, Marisa, Mitchell Curry and wife, Sonya; great granddaughter, Isla, and a host of other family and friends.
Vanlangendonck
Emily Louise Vanlangendonck, 81, of Rye, died Monday August 29, 2011.
Louise lived a life full of love and laughter. She loved a good game of shuffleboard, never missed watching bull riding, and always made sure her loved ones were well fed. Her amazing heart and honest opinion will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert F. "Sonny" Vanlangendonck; parents, Criena and Georgia Hoke; siblings, Dorothy Pawelka, Faye Allphin, Donald Lee Hoke; granddaughter, Christine Larson; grandson, Brent Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Donna D. Vanlangendonck.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Henderson of Arlington, Theresa Atkins of Arlington, Marie Duhon of Pasadena, Bubba Vanlangendonck of Liberty, Jackie Cleveland and husband Dennis of Rye; grandchildren, Richard, Cathy, David, Byron, Jason, Brad, Chet, Justin, Destiny, Courtney, Mandy, Emily, Dwayne and Joey; 22 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday August 31, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Faith and Family Funeral Service Chapel. A service of remembrance will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 1, 2011 at Rainbow Baptist Church in Rye, officiated by Reverend Clyde Summers.
Burial will follow at Concord cemetery in Rye.
Serving as pallbearers will be Byron Evans, Brad Atkins, Dennis Cleveland, Jason Atkins, Justin Vanlangendonck and Richard Dutton.

Gilley
Nola E. 'Noella' Bartlett Gilley, 92, of Tarkington Prairie, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at the Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 28, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Nola was born May 16, 1919, in Goose Creek, to parents; Gather and Myrtle Mae Lusk Bartlett, and has resided in the Tarkington area throughout her life. She was a graduate of the Hull-Daisetta High School, a retired LVN, a member of the Simmons Bottom Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and flower gardening, Becoming a nurse was her dream and she achieved that dream when her children were grown. She was known and will be remembered for her loving ways and hospitality.
Mrs. Gilley was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years: William Francis Gilley, son: Wilson Cleon Gilley, brothers: James and N.D. Bartlett, and sisters: Wynema, Mamie, Lula, and Willie. She is survived by her daughter: Frances E. Green Crocker and husband George of Dayton, son: Wendell Delayne Gilley and wife Debbie of Huntsville, daughter-in-law: Pixie Gilley of Robert Lee, grandchildren: James and John Green, Wendy, Wyatt, Layne, Seth, and Taisa Gilley, ten great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, her church family, and friends.
Gebhart
Annie Adline Barrow Gebhart, 92, of Saratoga, died Monday August 22, 2011 at a Beaumont area hospice facility. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She loved watching old western programs on television and reading her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Vinnie Hamshire Barrow; first husband, Hugh Scott; second husband, John Gebhart; daughters, Mildred Lott and Patsy Hendrix; sisters, Betty Jean, Mary, Ruth and Gracie.
She is survived by her children, Billy Ray Scott and wife Katherine of Saratoga, James Scott and wife Mary Lou of Saratoga, Tommy Scott of Sour Lake, Robert Scott and wife Ruth of Sour Lake, Peggy Biano and husband Marvin of Saratoga; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday August 24, 2011 at Rosedale cemetery of Sour Lake.

Stanley
Octavia Fahring Stanley, 94, of Anahuac, died on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Methodist Rehab. Hospital in Baytown, TX.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Anahuac under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will be from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
Octavia was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. G. H. and Octavia Fahring; husband, Jack Stanley; son, George Lloyd Stanley; brothers, Harley and Dr. Lloyd Fahring. She was lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Baptist church.
Octavia is survived by her daughters, Permelia Matheson and husband, Jon, Carolyn Plato and husband Tom, Georgia Clapper and husband, Rob; son, Jack Stanley and wife Carol; grandchildren, Ed and Jerry Matheson, Mike, Sam and Carolyn Brown, Tom and Rob Clapper, Kim Bergen, James Stanley and Susanne Anderson, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Ward
Phillips Andrew Ward, D.O., 39, of Wallisville, TX, died on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at his residence.
He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, doctor and friend.
A celebration of Phillip's life will be at 2 P.M. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Maranatha Churc, 12319 HWY 146 in Mont Belvieu, Texas. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.
Dr. Ward was owner of Ward Family Practice Office in Anahuac for the past five years. He attended the University of Houston where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree and TCOM where he earned his Doctorate Degree.
He is survived by his wife of seven years, Heather Ward; daughter, Milana Renata Ward; sons, Darian Ward and Parker Ward; mother, Sharon Weissborn and husband, William Jr.; Father, Phillip Ward; sister, Jana Perkins and husband John; brother Brad Ward and wife Yvonne; nephew, Kristian Ward; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Earl and Renee Sheffield. Many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends also survive.
Shoemake
Inez Passmore Shoemake, age 94, died on August 21, 2011.
She was born on August 17, 1917 in Kirbyville, Texas to Myrtie and Henry Passmore. She grew up in Vinton, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana College in Pineville in 1939 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education.
She moved to Liberty, Texas in 1957, received her Master's in Education from the University of Houston in 1960, and taught at Liberty Junior High School until retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Liberty, a charter member of both Teacher's Credit Union and Liberty County Art League. She enjoyed traveling, painting, music, and loving her family and the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Carroll Shoemake. She is survived by her two daughters, Kay Kinnison Foreman and Shonny Winkler and her husband, Jerry, all of Houston. There are three granddaughters, Tracy Fritts and husband, Jeff of Tomball, Erin Thomas of Aurora, Colorado, and Hayley Thomas of Richmond, four great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Louise Passmore of Orange, Texas.
There will be a public viewing at Addison Funeral Home, August 23, 2011 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm. The service will be held graveside in Edgerly, Louisiana at Big Woods cemetery, August 24, 2011 at 10:00 am.
They family wishes to give special thanks to Christa Jernigan and employees of Ponderosa Ranch Personal Care Home and to Lighthouse Hospice of Tomball for their dedication and concern. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to her favorite charities, the Wounded Warrior Project.org and Smile Train.org or the Veterans Administration.

Whittington
Prominent rancher, Lloyd P. 'L.P.' Whittington, Jr., 86, of Devers, Texas, died with his family at his side on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in Beaumont, Texas.
He was born on January 10, 1925 in Devers, Texas to parents, Lloyd P. Whittington Sr. and Maggie Brown Whittington. He graduated from Devers High School in 1942 as the Salutatorian of his class. He married
Wanda Peveto in 1946. They lived in Devers and L.P. worked for the Boyt Ranch. He later went to work for William Helis Oil, retiring after thirty-five years with the company. In addition, he sat on the Board of Directors for the Liberty County Farm Bureau for twenty-five years, was a director of the National Cattlemans Beef Board, a member of the Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and a lifetime member of the Texas Forestry Service. Mr. Whittington was a member of the Devers Drainage District for over twenty years. He was twice awarded the Texas Land Hertitage Award, for continued usage of his families farmland for both one hundred years and one hundred and fifty years. L.P. was recently honored with the TVE Heritage Award. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Devers.
Mr. Whittington is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Wanda Whittington, two daughters, Edwina Land and husband Charles of Devers, Melina Pennington and husband Tommy of Devers, six grandchildren, Amy Bruckbauer and husband Pete of Kingwood, Regina Snell and husband Randy of Hardin, Chuck Land and wife Robin of Liberty, Sherry Paschal and husband Bubba of Winnie, Jesse Pennington and wife Tiffany of Hardin, Jake Pennington and wife Amber of Devers, ten great-grandchildren, one brother, Horace Whittington and wife Iris, three sisters-in-law, Faye Paules, Imogene Denby and Gertrude Whittington and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 from 5PM until 8PM at Allison Funeral Service Chapel, Liberty, Texas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011, 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Devers, Texas with burial to follow in Whittington cemetery, Devers, Texas.

Manning
William Keenan Manning, 54, of Livingston, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at home.
Ken, as he was known, was born January 22, 1956 and was reared in Dayton, TX until graduating from Dayton High School. He then attended the University of Texas where he graduated in 1981 with a Bachelors of Business Administration. Ken had two brothers, John Michael Manning and Jack Markham Manning, both of whom preceded him in death. Also deceased are his mother, Edna Ruth 'Cookie' Manning and his father Dr. Jack C. Manning D.D.S. Ken is survived by his wife, Bambi Lyn Fincher-Manning, his stepson Austin K. Fincher and his wife Sara and grandchildren Andrea and Marcus all of Shepherd, TX and his nephews Stephen and Craig Manning.
Ken was the owner of many small businesses and held sales and management positions in the farm supply, restaurant and housing industries. But Ken's true passion was ranching. He was an active cattle trader in his early years and later in his life raised quarter horses. He loved nothing more than working and caring for his livestock at the Ken Manning ranch, otherwise known as the 'Tick Farm.'
Services will be held at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, TX on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Livingston, TX in the family plot at Forest Hill cemetery.

Rich
David Wayne Rich, age 63, died Wednesday August 10, 2011 in Liberty.
He was born December 27, 1947 in Liberty the son of John Hollis Rich and Lola Estelle Worthy. David was a generous man, always first to visit when a baby was born. He was a third generation rice farmer, welder, who enjoyed cooking, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the Southeast Texas Cattlemen Association and the American Rice Growers Association.
David was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister Brenda Faye Elkins.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters Kerry Fisher and husband Eric of Liberty, Kim Barrow and significant other Keith Taylor of Nordheim, son Eli Rich and wife Ashley of Anahuac, sister Judy Carol Wright of Montana, brother Billy Don Rich of Liberty, aunts Iris Marie Threlkeld and Rosie Worthy, seven grandchildren, Lauren Brooke Barrow, Dillon Colt Barrow, Hayze Garrett Fisher, Holden Lane Fisher, Hayden Brooke Fisher, Blaine Hollis Rich, and Jessyca Kay Rich, as well as a great grandson Carter Blaine Fischer.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

Mallett
Funeral Services will be held for Walter Mallett Jr., 75, of Ontario, California, at Olive Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Hardin, Texas on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Greg L. Bellard, Pastor/Officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.
Walter was born on January 12, 1936, in Raywood the oldest son of ten children to the Late Ethel and Walter Mallett Sr. 'Top' as he was known by many moved to California at a very young age. He was self-employed for 47 years. He had many hobbies such as race car driving, riding motor cycles, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed bowling. Walter passed away at his residence in Ontario. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 am until time of service.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Leroy and Charles Mallett; his oldest son, Reginald Wayne Mallett and his oldest grandson, Anthony 'Tony' Lewis Jr.
He leaves those whom be loved to cherish his memory; three sons: Marcus Mallett Sr., of Harbor City, CA., LeVar Mallett, of Ontario, CA., and Garrett Mallett of Fontana CA., two daughters: Deborah Mallett Jones, of Humble, TX. And Vicki Mallett Randolph of Crosby, TX; three brothers: Thomas Mallett, Joseph Mallett and Kerry Mallett; four sisters: Reba Redeaux, Ruby LaBove, Betty Anderson and Carlon Papillion; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Latson
Funeral Services will be held for Lillian Latson, 89, of Houston, Texas, at 2 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Olive Bethel Baptist Church, Hardin, TX. with the Reverend Greg Bellard, Pastor/Officiating with burial in Bingham cemetery, Hardin.
Mrs. Latson was a native of Hardin.
She passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at her home in Houston.
She leaves one brother: Miles Thompkins, of Port Arthur, TX. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Thibodeaux
Donald J. Thibodeaux, age 69, of Liberty, died Monday August 15, 2011 in Beaumont, with his loving family by his side.
Donald was born in Lafayette, LA, August 9, 1942, the son of the late Lodis Thibodeaux and Belle Blanchard Thibodeaux. Donald worked off shore for numerous years, spending time in all parts of the world constructing oil rigs. He last worked on the Auger, an oil rig in the gulf, which is the largest and the farthest one from shore. He was an avid fishermen, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. When not at his beloved lake house on Lake Livingston, he could be found at one of his grandchildren’s school or sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a brother, Bobby Lee Thibodeaux. Donald leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Alice Thibodeaux of Liberty, daughter LaDonna Pope and her husband Bobby of Liberty, brother George Thibodeaux of Liberty, sister Barbara Fondon of Crowley, LA, granddaughter Ashley Pope, grandson Jackson Pope, special friends Harold and Mary Harris, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday August 18, 2011 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with burial to follow in Liberty Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
