Calloway

Fred Meek Calloway, 76, of Liberty, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2011. Funeral Services will be Monday, September 26, 2011, at 3:30 pm, at the First United Methodist Church in Liberty, Texas with burial to follow in the Cooke Memorial cemetery in Liberty.

He was born on October 7, 1934 to parents, S.I. and Nannie Kate Calloway in Smackover, Arkansas. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Liberty, Texas since moving to Liberty in 1967. He served on the Administrative Board and most any other way that was asked of him.

Mr. Calloway worked for Williams Pressure Service in Shreveport, La. and Latex in Atlanta, Ga. before moving to Liberty, Texas to work for Halliburton. He worked in real estate and home building business during the late 70’s with his friend Joe Tullos. He formed Micah Production in the 1980s with the late Billy Mills. He formed Calloway Overhead Door and Gutter Service mid-1980

He loved a good baseball game, watching college football, growing pineapples and tomatoes and watching his grandson grow up. He also enjoyed his year as a fast-pitch softball pitcher in Liberty. Over the years he was active in the Liberty Lions and Rotary Clubs. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved a good joke, and was quite the kidder. He never met a stranger. He was a man with a servants heart. He especially loved cooking for others. His specialties included Hot Rolls, Peach Cobbler and pies and Pralines at Christmas. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Genevieve Dixon Low and Delores Calloway and two brothers, John Calloway and Joe Calloway. He is survived by his wife of 48 years; Shirley Matthews Calloway, daughter; Scottie Tisdel and husband Michael, grandson; Ian Tisdel, brothers; Jerry Calloway and Michael Calloway and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas.

Jordan

Alma Irene Jordan, 82, of Silsbee, Texas, died Sunday September 18, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sabra Elizabeth Cox and Isaac Benjamin Lilley in Dollardsville, Texas on August 31, 1929. She was a lifelong residence of Silsbee, and a long time member of North Hardin Baptist church. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and best friend who loved to quilt and spend time with family and friends and was lovingly known to many as "granny".

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers Alfred Lilley, Louis Lilley, Sylvester Lilley, Vernon Lilley, J.W. Lilley I.E. Lilley.

She is survived by her sons Joe Alexander and wife Jan of of Silsbee, Buster Alexander and wife Nelda of Zavalla, Danny Paul Alexander of Silsbee. Daughters Lois Malley and husband Joe of Lumberton, Marsha May and husband Randy of Silsbee, Betty Dougia of Silsbee. Brother and sister in law Jim Lilley and wife Sandy of Livingston. Grandchildren thirteen, Great-grandchildren eighteen, and numerous family and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday September 20, 2011 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the family residence located at 2165 Alexander Rd, Silsbee Texas 77656.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday September 21, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. The Big Sandy cemetery in Big Sandy, in Polk County, with Reverend Jerry Dubose officiating.

Pallbearers are Geary Alexander, Brandon Alexander, Adam Hoke, Bobby Hoke, David Alexander, Joseph Alexander, Andre Lilley. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Smith, Tim Hoke, Randall McNeel. We love you granny always, you will be greatly missed. Until we see you again in Heaven you will.

Rich

Sandra Gilliland Rich, 64, of Moss Bluff, died Monday, September 19, 2011, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Worthy cemetery in Moss Bluff, with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Sandra was born July 21, 1947 in Liberty, to parents; Hilton and Helen Payne Gilliland, and has resided in the Liberty area throughout her life. She was a graduate of the Liberty High School class of 1965, attended Sam Houston State University, and was employed by Sears in Baytown as an inventory clerk for 13 years. She also enjoyed shopping, knitting, crocheting, decorating, caring for plants, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Rich was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Donna Morris and Sherryl Maxwell. She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Billy Don Rich of Moss Bluff, daughter: Julie Pruett and husband Darell of Liberty, son: John Rich and wife Nicole of Tomball, sister: Diane Jones and husband Gordon of Tarkington Prairie, brothers: Bill Gilliland and wife Joann of Temple, Roy Gilliland of Liberty, and Mike Gilliland and wife JoAnn of Liberty, grandchildren: Wilson, Logan, Landon, Luke, and Lane, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Madden

Lois Janet Madden, 83, of Hardin, TX, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 in Cleveland, TX.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from five until eight o’clock on the evening on Friday, September, 23rd at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

A service of remembrance will be held at Sterling Funeral Home at ten o’clock in the morning Saturday, September 24th with interment to follow in Palms Memorial Park.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her five sons, Tommy Madden of Deer Park, Mickey Madden of Baytown, Danny Madden and wife Janie of LaPorte, Kenny Madden and wife Debbie of Cottonwood, Tennessee, and Allen Madden; sister, Sarah Prisock of Delhi, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren, Tess Baker, Lance Madden, Tanya Madden Wood, Michelle Straight, Andrea L’Esperance, Jason L’Esperance, Nicole Lewis, Abidi Madden, Bubba Madden, Toby Madden, Wesley Madden and Joey Madden; 9 great-grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Trevor, Briann, Clarissa, Austin, Raylin, Brody, Daisy and Benjamin; daughters-in-law, Sharon Madden and Dorothy Madden; and numerous more relatives and close friends.

Lott

Bobby Allen Lott, 59, of Dayton, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather.

Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Houston National cemetery. A gathering of Bobby's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011.

Bobby was a very well known welder for 40 plus years. Many knew him and sought after him, for his well known craftsmanship. He had a great love for his Indian heritage. He loved the great outdoors such as fishing, camping, and searching for Indian arrow heads. He was preceded in death by his father, Finnis H. Lott, sisters, Barbara Burnett, Debra Matthews, and Michelle Lott.

Bobby is survived by his sons, Albert Lott and wife, Heidi, Bobby H. Lott; daughters, Sandra Lott Tyburczyk and fiancé Juan Martinez, Jennifer Lewis and husband Steve; mother, Betty Jean Baisas; sisters, Sharon Conklin, Shari Moore and Debra Bates; brother, Jimmy Lott; grandsons, Jacob Lott and Tyler Tyburczyk; granddaughters, Madison Tyburczyk, Savannah Lott and Lindsey Lewis and a host of other family and friends.

Kirkham

Bobbie Kirkham, age 92, of Cleveland, Texas, died Thursday, September 15, 2011. She was born January 17, 1919 in Hightower, Texas to parent McNeil and Mattie Chapman who preceded her in death along with her husband, Joe Kirkham; son Jimmie Kirkham; and son-in-law, Charles Hansbro.

Survivors include her son, Lloyd Kirkham and wife, Cordella; daughter, JoAnn Hansbro; grandchildren, Kem, Julie, Kehle, Robert, and James; great-grandchildren, Chris, Rachel, Nick, Colby, Parker, Charli, Keagan, Connor, and Delaney; numerous other cherished family members and faithful friends.

The family will welcome visitors on Saturday, September 17, 2011, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. Jerry Bontrager will preside over funeral services being held Sunday, September 18, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Oak Shade Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Oak Shade cemetery.

Gilfillian

Carolyn Virginia (Hundley) Gilfillian died September 15, 2011.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 5-8 P.M. at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 2 P.M. Guedry cemetery in Batson with Rev. Bill Fabriguze officiating.

Carolyn was born December 29, 1928 in Prudhomme, LA. to parents Walter Hillman Hundley and Janice Williams Hundley.

Carolyn was a wonderful mother to her son, Henry Jr. and a very loving grandmother and mother in law. She was a Southern Baptist and practiced her faith in many ways. In her later years she was a victim of Alzheimer’s disease for fourteen years.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Henry James Gilfillian Sr. Surviving are her only child, Henry Gilfillian Jr. and wife, Cindy and three grandsons, Henry Gilfillian lll and wife, Brandi, Harrison Gilfillian, and Hunter Gilfillian and great grandson, Hayden Gilfillian. Four brothers and sister also survive: Sam Hundley of Hull, Hilda Welch of Louisiana, Wilda Beck of Tennessee and Anne Dischler of Louisiana.

Workers who have helped with her care for the last few years have been such a blessing to her and the family. A special thanks to Wilma Randolph, Judy Dent, Heather West and Ella Fontenot.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX 77575.

Curiel

Raquel Garcia Curiel, 56, of Anahuac, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Anahuac with Father Neal Arce and Father Jesus Lizalde celebrants. Rite of Committal will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Raquel's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac with a rosary at 7:00 P.M.

Raquel was preceded in death by her son, Miguel Curiel; mother, Maria Luz Gallegos; granddaughter, Olivia Curiel. She loved cooking, gardening, shopping and being with all of her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Anahuac.

Raquel is survived by her husband of 36 years, Angel Curiel; daughter, Suzanna De La Cruz; son, Luis Curiel; brothers, Domingo Garcia, Guillermo Garcia, Jorge Garcia, Refujio Garcia, Jose Lius Garcia; grandchildren, Natalie, Miguel Jr., Victor A., Marcos, Eduardo; special nieces, Iliana, Veronica and special nephews, Jesus, Andres; and a host of other family and friends.

Randile

Funeral Service for Gary Lynn Randile, 56, of Liberty, Texas will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church, Ames, with the Reverend Ervin C. Victoria, Pastor, officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery, Liberty.

A native of McNeil, Arkansas, Gary died on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

He is preceded in death by his father Arthur Randile and one brother Jimmy Randile.

Gary leaves to cherish his memory his mother: Elizabeth Randile; one son: Latren Fredrick; four brothers: Arthur III, Vernon, Ray, and Darryl Randile; two sisters: Belinda St. Julian and Kathy Edwards and a host of other relatives and friends.

Arrangements Entrusted to: Wells Funeral Service, Liberty.

Miller

Quay Miller, 86, of Anahuac, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Anahuac. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and brother.

Funeral services are pending at this time under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mr. Miller was a high school football coach for over 30 years. All American Football player and graduated from the University of Houston. He also served his county in the U.S. Navy in WWII on the air craft carrier Princeton.

Quay is survived by his wife of 65 years, Theresa Anna Cellucci Miller; daughters, Gloria Colb and husband George, Theresa Chapman; sons, Tony Miller and wife Karen, John Miller and Lisa; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter; sister, Margie Oliver; and a host of other family and friends.

Morris

Mary Williams Morris, 66, of Edmond, OK, died on Friday, September 2, 2011 at OU Medical Center on Edmond, OK. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Ryan cemetery under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Jean Williams; sister, Frances Clever. She loved being around her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband, Tom Morris of Edmond, Ok.; daughter, Mary Stanley; grandchildren, Thomas, Bradley, and Lacey, and a host other family and friends.

Gross

Joseph "Joe" Curtis Gross, 74, of Batson, died Tuesday September 13, 2011 at his residence in Batson.

Born in Elkhart, Indiana, to parents Donald Alpheus Gross and May Irene Branum he had lived in Batson for sixty five years and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Batson, where he served as Deacon. He had worked for Champion International of Sheldon TX, as a Mill worker, and was a Dallas Cowboy fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald Alpheus Gross and May Irene Branum and Brother Alph Gross.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of fifty four years Patsy Gross of Batson, son Richard Gross of Liberty, daughters Shirley Anderson of Batson, Carolyn Davis and husband Raymond of Daisetta, Patty Wilson and husband Kenneth of Dayton. Brother Rheu Gross of Batson, sisters Libby Gaston of Batson, Lou Taylor of Daisetta, and Peggy Bontragger of Goshen Indiana. Grandchildren ten and Great Grandchildren six.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday September 17, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Batson with Reverend Ken Davis and Butch Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Guedry cemetery of Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Friday September 16, 2011 starting at 12:00 Noon also at First Baptist Church of Batson.

Serving as pallbearers are J.C. Wilson, Wayne Wilson, Robert Wilson, Doug Alford, Jonathan Davis and Danny Farr. Honorary pallbearers are Ted and William Anderson, Chris Jones and all the men of First Baptist Church of Batson.

Lundy

Gary Wayne Lundy, 52, life-long resident of Winnie, died Monday September 12, 2011 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

He is survived by his father, John Lundy, Jr. of Winnie and half brother Cecil Womack of Pasadena, TX. In honor of Gary's wishes, he will be cremated.

His family is planning a private vigil to be scheduled at a later time.
