Lawrence Earnest “Earnie” Jones
Services for Lawrence Earnest “Earnie” Jones, 62, of Oakwood will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Jack Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery at Athens.
Mr. Jones died Saturday at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas.
He was born Sept. 21, 1939 in Sherman to Lawrence Earl Jones and Flossie Alice Watkins Jones.
Mr. Jones was an aircraft mechanic with Dallas Airmotive. He was a longtime resident of Coppell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jones of Oakwood; daughters, Tina Wise, of Red Oak and Laura Lowery of Terrell; , Larry Jones of Quinlan, and Sam Jones of Irving; sister, Deann Sims of Murchison; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rondal McGuire, James Glenn McGuire, Troy Engledow, Chris Ingram, Jason Engledow and Russell Boyd.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Hicks and Eugene McCall.

Ruby L. Steadman White
Services for Ruby L. Steadman White, 85, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery at Elkhart.
Mrs. White died Saturday at Greenbrier Nursing Center.
She was born June 13, 1917 in Anderson County to William Pugh Grigsby and Gertrude Coleman Grigsby.
Mrs. White was a member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ. Before retiring she had worked in the business office at Palestine Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Steadman and Leonard White; sons, James Steadman and Jack Steadman; a grandchild, Staccy Steadman; and special friend, Edward Hendon.
Mrs. White is survived by a stepson, Harold Steadman of Elkhart; sister, Weda P. Watts of Breckenridge; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Woody, Kyle Locke, Paul Steadman, David Steadman, Richard Grigsby and Glenn Grigsby.

Gene Austin Pittman
Services for Gene Austin Pittman, 70, of Fairfield will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Bubba Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow at Day Cemetery in Freestone County.
Mr. Pittman died Thursday at Veterans Hospital in Dallas.
He was born April 2, 1932, in San Benito to Leslie L. Pittman and La Poloma Jenkins.
Mr. Pittman was a self-employed plumber. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Sergeant 1st Class. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Orand Pittman of Fairfield; son, Larry Wayne Pittman of Fairfield; daughters, Audrey Kay Jones of Rowlett, Jean Marie Sawyer of Wills Point and Jackquelyn Haigler of Fairfield; brother, Joe Earl Pittman of Fairfield; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Noyl Anders
Services for Noyl Anders, 89, of Oakwood, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Church of Christ with David Braun officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood City Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Anders died Friday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 16, 1913 in Nineveh to John William Anders and Grace Lyon Anders.
Mr. Anders was a member of Oakwood Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge of Buffalo. Before retiring he was parts manager at Roger’s Chevrolet Company.
He was in the Army from June 3, 1943 until Dec. 25, 1945. He was a sergeant with the 3rd Bombardment Group 90th Squad. Campaigns he served in included New Guinea, South Philippines Luzon and Western Pacific Rajukyus. He was decorated with Asiatic Philippines medal with six bronze stars, Philippino Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and a Victory ribbon.
Mr. Anders was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Pearl Anders.
He is survived by daughter, Sheryl Turner of Tyler; sister, Celia Parker of Tyler; brother, Johnny Anders of Tyler; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Haley, Craig Turner, Randy Turner, Matthew Smith, Aaron Smith and Earnest Coates.

R. Andrew Harrison

The infant died Wednesday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 19, 2002 in Jacksonville to Penny Denise Watkins of Rusk and Charlie Harrison of Denson Springs.
He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Johnny and Renee Watkins of Elkhart, Guy and Janet Harrison of Denson Springs and Amy Renvik of Bellville; great-grandparents, Marion Watkins of Denson Springs and Leonard and Joyce Christmas of Elkhart, Florence Schoppe of Houston, Bittsie Harrison of Houston and Nifa Harrison of Houston; great-great-grandmother, Verda Ward of Grandview.
Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Harrison and Daniel Watkins.

Janette Benson-Nickerson
Services for Janette Benson-Nickerson, 44, of Allen, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emanuel Funeral Home in Palestine with the Rev. Jeffery Nickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery in Oakwood.
Mrs. Benson-Nickerson died Sept. 8 in Collin County.
She was born Nov. 7, 1957 in Dallas to James and Lena Mae Alexander Benson. She attended Kilgore College.
Mrs. Benson-Nickerson was preceded in death by her father; and a daughter, Michelle Brown.
She was married to James Brown, then Ricky Smith and now Stanley Nickerson.
Mrs. Benson-Nickerson is survived by her husband, Stanley Nickerson; sons, Elliott and Celiz Smith; and her mother, Lena Mae Alexander.
Belbert “Jack” Johnson
Services for Belbert “Jack” Johnson, 85, of Forth Worth, and formerly of Centerville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Sweet Hope Baptist Church in Centerville. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Centerville under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home in Teague.
Mr. Johnson died Sept. 6 at Harris County Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
He was born May 29, 1917 in Leon County to Robert and Janie Johnson.
Mr. Johnson attended school in Centerville. He was a member of New Sweet Hope Baptist Church in Fort Worth where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Johnson; brothers, Bert Johnson, Travis Johnson, Hardin Johnson and Rudolph Johnson; sisters, Mary Kay Tryon, Maebell Gilmore, Peraline Lusk and Lula Mae Phillips.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Magdelene Murphy Johnson of Mexia; sons, Robert Johnson of Fort Worth, Charles Ray Johnson, Herman Wayne Johnson, Joel Johnson and Raymond Johnson, all of Teague; daughters, Minnie Pearl Black of Fort Worth, Delma Jean Williams, Maxine Johnson and Mae Ruth Thomas, all of Mexia, Jeanette Johnson and Eva Joyce Harbert of Fort Worth; 27 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
A wake will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Lois Leggett
Services for Lois Leggett, 81, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Palestine City Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Glenn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Leggett died Thursday at Cartmell Home for Aged.
She was born Dec. 22, 1920, in Palestine to Edgar Wilson Turbyfill and Eunice Evans Turbyfill.
Mrs. Leggett graduated from Palestine High School in 1938. She was a member of Memorial Christian Church.
After graduating from high school, she pursued a longtime dream of becoming a professional singer. She began a world tour as the lead vocalist with some of the biggest Big Bands of the era. A few she sang with included Sandy Sandifers Band, Happy Felton and Griff Williams Orchestras. She was the star vocalist at the Palmer House in Chicago and performed along with Red Skelton and Tony Martin during that time. She was so popular in the 1940s that a Lois Lee doll was named after her.
Mrs. Leggett is survived by son, Ken Leggett of Palestine; daughter, Lana Crudup of Austin; brothers, Wayne Turbyfill and Russell Turbyfill, both of Palestine; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Harris, James “Bubba” Perry, Dennis Carroll, Ty Cobble, Greg Morgan and Nat Coleman.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Anderson County Humane Society.
Harry Louis Graham
Services for Harry Louis Graham, 65, were held at 10:30 a.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo.
Mr. Graham died Sunday in Waco.
He was born Oct. 10, 1938, to Joyce and Mildred Graham in Teague.
Mr. Graham lived most of his life in Buffalo. He moved to Waco in the late ‘70s.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Earl Graham.
Mr. Graham is survived by children, Harry Louis Graham Jr. of Tyler, and Billy Gene Graham and Gwendolyn Marie Brock, both of Waco; and seven grandchildren.
Angela M. Harris

Thomas M. Colley
Services for Thomas M. Colley, 76, of Kerrville, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Mike Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine City Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Colley died Wednesday at Sid Peterson Hospital in Kerrville.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1926 in Port Arthur to Thomas Milton Colley Sr. and Dorothy Davey Colley.
Mr. Colley was a stock broker. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He attended Palestine High School and the Shriner Institute in Kerrville.
Mr. Colley received a geology degree from the University of Texas.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Colley III.
Mr. Colley is survived by his wife, Janice Colley of Kerrville; daughters, Ann Colley Fowler of Hutto, Susan Colley Joplin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Bennett, Dr. John McCall, David Sprowl, Ernest Swift, Paul Elliott and Marley Styner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Phillips, Robert Smith, Don Hoot, Harry Roberts, John R. Freeland and George Etz.

He is survived by his parents; sisters, Chasidy A. Gross and Eryanna J. Gross; grandparents, Faye Marie Jackson, Michael L. Borah, Leonora Hankins and Charles Ray Gross; and great-grandparents, Adell Jackson and Vera M. Gross.
