Funeral Services for Mrs. Banks will be held 11AM, Saturday, Mar. 31, 2012 at Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, in Wallisville.

Whitehead
Harold Joseph “Joe” Whitehead died Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Beaumont, Texas.
Joe was born November 18, 1933 in Houston to Addison Eley Whitehead and Bernice Miller Whitehead. He graduated from Anahuac High School in 1951 and from Lamar University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1957 at White Sands, New Mexico. Joe received his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Texas A&M in 1964. He ranched and practiced veterinary medicine at Smith Point for numerous years. He was a warden for the National Audubon Society for 50 years. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Irene Morgan.
He is survived by his wife Florence Annette Whitehead of Smith Point, daughters Dawn Whitehead of Corpus Christi, Tanya Jackson and husband Sam of Lubbock, and Michelle Dobbs of Baytown and son Todd Whitehead and his wife Martha of Humble. In addition, he leaves his grandchildren, Hanna Stalb, David Gonzales, Chelsea Gonzales, Logan Jackson, Melanie Jackson, Jackson Dobbs, and Delaney Dobbs and two great-grandchildren, Briana and Natalie Gonzales.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Smith Point Volunteer Fire Department, 309 Plummer Camp Road, Anahuac, Texas 77514 or to a charity of one’s choice. Joe’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service Saturday, March 31 at 10 am at the Smith Point VFD Building.
Mayes
Mary Louise Mayes, 80, of Houston, died on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at The Forum in Houston. She was a loving aunt and cousin.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Middleton Memorial United Methodist Church in Wallisville under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Wallisville cemetery. A gathering of Mary Lou's family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nona Mayes; sister, Mary Emma Speights. She was a member of both First United Methodist Church in Houston and Middleton Memorial United Methodist Church in Wallisville. Mary Lou was a proud graduate of the University of Texas, having earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration. She retired from Exxon Company USA. Mary Lou was a native of Chambers County, and a member of two pioneer families in Chambers County.
Mary Lou is survived by niece, Edwina Miles and husband, Len of Trophy Club, Texas, their son, Matthew Miles of Tyler; numerous cousins and friends, and a host of other family and friends.
Mullinix
Helen Elizabeth Mullinix, age 78, died Sunday March 25, 2012 in Beaumont, Texas.
Helen was born in Lufkin, Texas April 7, 1933 the daughter of the late Boley B. Thomas and Elizabeth Ann Renfro Thomas. Helen taught piano lessons the majority of her life and loved music; she also was a member of the Touch by Grace Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Bruce L. Mullinix and Thomas Keith Mullinix, brother H.B. Thomas and her husband Bobby Joe Mullinix. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter LaVonne Chandler and her husband Steve of Cleveland, four grandchildren Bruce A. Mullinix, Brent L. Mullinix, Bobby F. Pevehouse, and Penni Ann Nappi. In addition she leaves eight great-grandchildren. Cremation services have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service.

Jerry Smart, 48, of Kountze, TX, died Saturday March 24, 2012 in Kountze.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday March 27, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson TX, with Reverend John French officiating. Pallbearers are Otis Smart, Joe Earl Smart, Roy Gene Smart, Larry Dale Smart, Josh Conner and John Conner. Interment will follow at Hooks cemetery, also in Kountze. The family will be receiving friends on Monday March 26, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel. A native and lifelong residence of Kountze Jerry was born April 7. 1963 to parents Jerry Von Smart and Bonnie Mae Lewis Smart and had worked for Multi-Source Sand & Gravel in Romayor, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Von Smart, sister Shirley Ann Soileau.
Survivors are his wife Pamala Smart of Kountze, mother Bonnie Mae Smart of Kountze. Son Jerry Waylon Smart and wife Maria of Kountze, daughters Candace Janelle Mercer and husband Daniel of Saratoga, Ashley Chantelle Guidry and husband Greg of Silsbee. Brothers Otis Smart of Kountze, Joe Earl Smart of Lumberton, Roy Gene Smart of Kountze, Larry Dale Smart of Kountze. Sister Patricia Gale Smart of Kountze. Grandchildren are Kalissa, Mikayla, Chloe, Jacob and Hailey, and also numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Stinson
Gary Lee Stinson, 59, of Cleveland, died Friday, March 23, 2012, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Cleveland City cemetery with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.
Gary was born October 1, 1952 in Houston, to parents; Rayford A. and Hazel Rylee, a former resident of New Caney, and has resided in Cleveland for the past seven years. He was a graduate of the New Caney High School class of 1971, a retired supervisor in the pipeline industry, and member of The Backyard Cookers. He also enjoyed cook-offs, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his dog Buckwheat.
Mr. Stinson was preceded in death by his father: Rayford A. Stinson, and stepfather: Thurley White. He is survived by his sweetheart: Patty Pike of Cleveland, son: Michael Shane Stinson of Splendora, sisters: Patsy Nordan of MS and Sue Sullivan and husband Grady of MS, brothers: Rayford L. Stinson of MS, Don Stinson and wife Cindy of Livingston, Johnnie Stinson and wife Lenette of MS, and Marty White of MS, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Shirley E. Priest, 80, of Dayton, died on Thursday March 22, 2012 at the Hampton at Post Oak retirement community in Houston.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday March 27, 2012 at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Crosby followed by the burial at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home of Dayton.
Shirley was born July 17, 1931 in Cheviot Ohio to parents August & Thekla Stoll. She was a graduate of Western Hills High School Class of 1949, and also attended Concordia Teachers College in River Forest IL from 1952-1955. She has been a long time resident and former school teacher in both Dayton I.S.D. and Lee College in Baytown. She also was a former Texas A&M Mothers club president from 1991-1992. Mrs. Priest has been a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church of Crosby since 1984 where she also taught Sunday school and vacation bible school for many years.
Mrs. Priest was preceded in death by her parents, Husband James E. (JIM) Priest, Brothers Ronald and Butch Stoll and Sister June.
She is survived by her sons Kurt Priest and wife Sherri of Brandenburg, KY.
Jon Priest and wife Lisa of Houston, Her grandchildren Julie, Amanda, and Cynthia Priest and Sisters Martha Leitsch of Phoenix and Catherine Rullman of Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.

Collins E. Morris, Jr., 74, of Willis, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the Magnolia Place Nursing Home in Liberty.

Collins was born February 18, 1938 in Bedias, to parents; Collins E., Sr. and Winnie Powledge Morris, a former resident of Pasadena, and has resided in the Willis area for the past 17 years. He was a retired operator from the Ethyl Corporation of Pasadena, member of the Pasadena Masonic Lodge # 1155 AF & AM, and member of the First United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, travel, and playing cards.
Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Judy Carter Morris of Willis, daughters: Susan Garcia and husband Ray of Dayton, Sharon Bullion and husband Edgar of Trinity, and Julie Reagan and husband Kevin of Conroe, brothers: Dennis Morris of Humble and Leon Morris of Humble, 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Donald Ray Weeks, 65, of Hull, TX, died Wednesday March 21, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday March 24, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. At Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth officiating, interment will follow at the Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Friday March 23, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. At Faith & Family. Donald was born December 23, 1946 to Clarence Edward Weeks and Mattie Armetha Davis in Liberty, TX, where he lived most of his life before moving to Hull, TX in 1981 and was a retire Millwright with Brown & Root Construction Company and was also a Mason with Masonic Lodge #1193 of Hull.
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Sunny Weeks, mother & father in law J.D. and Pearlie Cain.
Survivors are his wife of 46 years Patricia Weeks of Hull, son Donald Ray Weeks Jr. and wife Sheryl of Daisetta, daughters Karen Prewitt and husband Randy of Hardin, Jennifer Richardson and husband Craig of Hull, and sister Brenda Bowen of Dayton. Grandchildren Jimmy Weeks of Daisetta, Steven Sanchez of Hardin, Rachel Prewitt of Hardin, Tommy, Ty, and Karli Richardson all of Hull. Great-granddaughter Arianna Weeks of Daisetta.

Raymond “Ray” Hoornstra, 53, of Atascocita, died Monday, March 19, 2012, in Liberty.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Ray was born November 21, 1958 in the Netherlands, to parents; Wilhelm “Bill” and Corrie Venix Hoornstra, a former resident of Port Neches, and has resided in Atascocita for the past seven years. He was a graduate of the Nathan Hill High School class of 1977, attended Tulsa University, and was employed by Tracer International as a material management specialist. He also enjoyed soccer, reading, and riding bicycles.
Mr. Hoornstra is survived by his wife of seven years: Kim Braeunig Hoornstra of Atascocita, daughter: Victoria Gelino and husband Jordan of Stillwater, OK, stepsons: Ryan Granger of Mauriceville and Teague Granger of Mauriceville, parents: Bill and Corrie Venix Hoornstra of Tulsa, OK, sister: Karin Robinson and husband Mark of Kingwood, nephew: Reed Robinson of Kingwood, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Don was born May 28, 1957 in Houston, to parents; Olen G. and Iola Duncan Myers, a former resident of Huffman, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past two years. He was a graduate of the Galena Park High School class of 1975, a mechanic for Adobe equipment of Houston, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, collecting hot wheels, and horses.
Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his parents, mother of his children: Susan G. Myers, and brothers: Billy, Mickey, Grady, and Harry Myers. He is survived by his wife: Natalie Harman Myers of Dayton, sons: Jeffrey W. Myers, Sr. and wife Virginia of Huffman and Joe Myers of Huffman, stepsons: Matthew Passmore of Dayton and Jacob Passmore and wife Amanda of Abilene, sisters: Nancy Foreman of Houston, Sandra Conley of Conroe, Vicki Gascoyne of Houston, Rose Rickley of Conroe, and sally Myers-Davis of Conroe, grandchildren: Jeffrey W. Rutherford
James Allen Rutherford, age 80, of Cleveland, Texas, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at his residence.
He was born to parents Bill and Mamie Rutherford on February 09, 1932 in Cleveland, Texas and a lifetime resident. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He was a freight operator for Yellow Freight and retired after many years of services. He loved the Lord and was a Deacon at Pin Oak Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Tarkington Prairie Masonic Lodge #498. His passion was hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Joe Neiderhofer; and both parents Bill and Mamie Rutherford.
Survivors include his daughter Kayla Rutherford and husband Jason Johnson; sons Derrick Rutherford and Hoby Rutherford; sister Bettie Groce; brother Billy Rutherford; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and faithful friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. George Hayden will preside over funeral services being held Thursday, March 22, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment following at Pin Oak cemetery. Pallbearers include Billy Rutherford, Chip Green, Jay Groce, Brandon Green, Jim Steede, Clayton LaBuff, Jason Johnson, and Cody Barton.

Garrett
Annalene Garrett, age 82, died Tuesday March 20, 2012 in Houston, Texas.
Anna was born March 21, 1929 in Daisetta, Texas the daughter of the late Johnnie Forest Garrett Sr and Lucille Ballard Garrett. A graduate of Hull-Daisetta High School, she went on to nursing school, eventually retiring from Methodist Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers, Johnnie Forest Garrett Jr, Ernest Hadley Garrett, James Henry Garrett, and a sister Vera Knight.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a brother Howard Garrett, nephews Biff Knight, Ronnie Garrett, Ricky Garrett, Randy Garrett and a niece Linda Olexa. In addition she leaves numerous grand nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held 2PM Friday March 23, 2012 in Guedry cemetery, Batson, Texas.
