Brenda Kay “MeMe” Norris Hill, 55 of Devers died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in McAllen.
Mrs. Hill was born December 18, 1956 in Liberty to parents George W. and Opal Neuman Norris. She was a lifelong resident of Liberty County and had worked 22 years for the American Rice Growers in Devers. She also had worked for the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office for 8 years. Brenda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Devers and the Hull-Daisetta Young Farmers.
Service from Mrs. Hill will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Norris cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, G.W. Norris and her son, Eli Stuart Hill. She is survived by her husband of 37 years: Dean H. Hill of Devers; her son: Benjamin Hill and wife Tonya of Linn, Texas; her mother: Opal Neuman Norris of Liberty; her grandchildren: Brody Hill, Lorelai Hill, and Codie Marie Hill; her sisters: Alice Rolke and husband Marshall of Dayton, Annita Josh and husband Larry of Kountze, Juanita Fox and husband Jim of San Antonio; her brother: Wilson Norris and wife Ginger of Crockett; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Davis
Milton “Little M” Davis, Jr., 64, of Hardin, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home and conclude in the chapel.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Little M. was born December 23, 1947 in Houston, to parents; Milton Davis, Sr. and Sue Hammons Davis, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in Hardin for the past eight years.
He was a former employee of Lone Star Beer, the owner and operator of Davis Towing, and enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, rodeos, and taking road trips.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his father: Milton Davis, Sr., mother: Sue Hammons Harp, wife: Brenda Moses-Davis, son: Rodney Owen, and brother: Mark Davis. He is survived by his children: Richard Davis and wife Amber of Hardin, Kim Adkins and husband Norman of Huffman, Thomas Owen and wife Norma of Spring, Davin Moses of Hardin, and Courtney Moses of Humble, brother: Lloyd Davis and wife Sue of Elgin, sisters: Karen LeFevre and husband Ira of Humble, Patsy Vestal and husband Donnie of The Woodlands, and Charlynn Stein of Humble, grandchildren: Tyler Webb, Taylor Webb, Kayd Davis, Harley Davis, Colton Davis, Kelly Owen, Chelsea Logan and husband David, Destiny Owen, Thomas “Little T” Owen, Jr., and Chris Alexander, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the Liberty Animal Shelter at 1914 Lakeland Dr., Liberty, Texas 77575, in Little M’s name.
Berotte
Mr. Jesse Berotte was born August 25, 1949, in Liberty, Texas to Christian Berotte and the late Sedonia Berotte. He departed this life on November 29, 2012.
Growing up he attended Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, he later transition to the Liberty Training High School, until his family moved from Liberty to Sunnyside in Houston, Texas, where he attended and graduated from Worthing High School. Living in Houston could not take the pure love away that he had in his heart for country living, because he soon made his way back to the Liberty area where he met and married
the love of his life Ruth L. Gants, on August 3, 1968. To their union three children were born; Myron, Jessica and LaKeitha.
Jesse was many things to many people. He loved life in general and he loved his family. He was an awesome provider. He worked as a Fire Chief for Phillips 66 in Pasadena, Texas for twenty-seven years. He also taught fire safety at Texas A&M University, the Sweeney Fire School as well as Lamar Universary. Jesse was also a major contributor, participant and worker at Our Mother of Mercy Easter Rodeo. He served on the Harris County MUD 55 water board; he was a volunteer fire fighter. Honorary Liberty County Sheriff.
Jesse settled in Crosby, Texas to raise his family. After seeing them into adulthood, he returned to Liberty the land that he loved to make a beautiful home for himself and his wife.
Jesse was preceded in death by his mother: Sedonia Berotte; brothers: Daugley Berotte, Roy Berotte; sister: Doris Green.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of forty-four years, Ruth Berotte: son; Myron Berotte (Kelly), daughters: Jessica Durst (Travis), LaKeitha Berotte-Bryant, his father: Christian Berotte; sister: Joyce Berotte, along with twelve grandchildren not to mention a loving host of family and friends.
Moore
Rev. Thomas B. Moore, Sr. of Dayton, Texas expired on November 24, 2012 at his home in Dayton, Texas with his family by his side.
Viewing will be held on Friday, November 30th from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Wells Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on December 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Olive Bethel Baptist Church, Hardin, Texas. Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.. Burial at Acie cemetery in Dayton, Texas. Funeral and burial under the direction of Wells Funeral Services.
Rev. Thomas B. Moore was born November 27, 1929, in Dayton, Texas, to the late Batease and Janie Moore. Thomas committed his life to Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Dayton, Texas. He graduated from Colbert High School in Dayton, Texas. He served his country in the Korean War for two years. He became a licensed minister in the early 1960’s. He was a laborer for over fifty-one years.
Rev. Thomas loved to pray, watch basketball, golfing, hunting, fishing, farming, gardening and spending time with his friends.
Rev. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents: Batease and Janie Moore; siblings: Ella Lee Dever, Lillie Mae Moss, James Etta Cormier, Ruth Zeno, Reese Green, Sr., Mary B. Zeno, Horace Moore, LT Moore and Howard Moore.
He is survived by his loving wife; Stella M. Moore, for fifty-five years. He also leaves his children: Rahim Hasan (Karen), Keith Moore, Stephen Moore (Lorean), Thomas B. Moore, Jr. Grandchildren: Stephanie Moore, Michael Moore, Kristen Parish (Patrick), Dominique Baldwin, Whitney Moore, Tacarius Moore, Kamari and Akiah Hasan. Great Grandchildren: Mesralia Moore, Megan Moore, Ivaj Turner, Traveen Baldwin, a host of relatives and friends.
Rivers
Funeral Services for Martha Rivers, will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at St Paul United Methodist Church, Double Bayou, Texas at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Martha Godfrey cemetery. Funeral and burial under the direction of Wells Funeral Services, Liberty, Texas.
On September 12, 1927, a baby girl was born to the late Elbert and Fannie Lewis in Double Bayou, Texas whom they named Martha Irene Lewis. She was the fourth of five children, and ultimately became a lifetime resident of Double Bayou.
On September 17, 1941, Martha married
Earl Rivers at the age of fourteen and remained a devoted wife for fifty –six years until his passing. Although no biological children was born though this union, she did have many “children” that she loved and cared for over the years.
Martha gave her heart to the LORD at an early age and became extremely active at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Double Bayou. She loved to teach Sunday School, sing in the choir and served on various committees within the church.
She was active in several auxiliary’s and organizations which included Mason Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star #425; Queen of the South Martha Rivers Court #93; Amaranth Court; Lulamae Mayes Court #90; Chaplin for the Oak Island Double Bayou Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; and Anahuac Saltgrass Cowboys Association.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister: Cora Lewis Fifer, Sisters-in-law Ella Rivers, Molly Perry and Mable Lewis; nieces: Barbara Caldwell, Monica Pringle, and Lorie Fifer Chinn, Vivian Perry, and Snookie Perry; nephews: Melvin Fifer (Jackie), Felix Fifer, Michael Lewis, Calvin Carrington, Sr. (Sissy), Anthonay Rivers, Tommy Rivers, Elbert Lewis, Ray Lewis and Donald Lewis; godchildren: Theda Lois Dickerson, Maxine Gloyd, Elwee Rivon, and preceding her in death Floyd George; her beloved “Extended” family Judge Carroll Wilborn (Charlotte), son Grant, and daughter Stephanie; Berta Nell Smeal (Frank), son Roy, and daughter Stacie; along with a wonderful host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Tina Louise Smith 48 of Hardin, Texas died Saturday December 1, 2012 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday December 4, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the graveside at Hardin Chapel cemetery of Hardin with Reverend Gideon Watson officiating. The family will be receiving friends also on Tuesday December 4, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel. Born in Lufkin, Texas she had lived in Hardin 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother Carolyn Niccar Jones, daughter Chassity Smith, and brother Timothy Jones. Survivors are her father Robert Earl Jones of Hardin, son J.R. Smith of Hardin, daughter Nadia Stephens of Nacogdoches, and brother Robert Jones Jr. of Hardin. Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, Texas 77519.
Williams
J. B. “Jake” Williams, 85, of Webster, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Houston Hospice in Houston.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Hebron cemetery in Broaddus with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Parke
Delores Hingle Parke, 88, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012.
Survivors include her children, Harry Jr., and Jean Parke of Slidell; Michael and Connie Parke of Prairieville; Stephen and Kathy Parke of Chesterfield, S.C.; Gregory and Jane Parke of Mandeville, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harry L. Parke; parents, Dorothy Clark and George Hingle; siblings, Fay Hingle McWilliams, Adele Hingle, Walter and Jules Hingle, and a great-grandson, Jacob Parke.
The faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was born in New Orleans. She was a gifted poet, having penned more than 1, 500 poems, and loved to inspire others with her words of faith, encouragement and wit. She was a respected and faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church.
The memorial services will be Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church of Slidell, 388 Robert Blvd. Visitation will be Dec. 3 from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in Forest Lawn cemetery in Slidell.
Ford
Allene May Ford, 92, retired United Methodist Deaconess, died Nov. 29, 2012 at Clarewood House ECC, Houston.
She was born March 29, 1920 in Dayton, Texas to Milo & Ella Fay Ford.
She lived in NYC for much of her life, serving the United Methodist Church through the Women’s Division in Deaconess & Home Missionary Service. When she retired from national church work, she went to work on the staff of St. Paul’s UMC, Houston. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
Allene is preceded in death by her parents & siblings, David & Boonie Ford, nephew David Westel Ford & great-niece Elizabeth Allene Bajgier & other beloved relatives. She is survived by brother M.W. & Dorothy Ford of Dayton; nephew Kerry & Theresa Ford of San Antonio; nieces Gail & Ted Smith of Houston; Gina & Gary Bajgier of The Woodlands; Jessica & John Johnson of Dayton. Great-nephews & nieces: Nathan & Adam Ford of Los Angeles; Sam & Tracie Mazzu of Houston; Katie & Lee Parker of Austin; Dorothy Jo & Ryan Landry of Bulverde; Meggie White of Dallas; Boone & Rebecca Bajgier of College Station; Esther & Ruth Ann Bajgier of The Woodlands. Great-great niece Norah Parker of Austin & great-great nephew Mason Landry of Bulverde and hosts of other beloved relatives.
Allene’s Memorial Service will be on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 3:30pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 5501 Main St., Houston 77004 with the Rev. Dr. L. James Bankston and Chaplain Thomas Hill presiding.
The family remembers Allene as faithful, joyous, gracious and generous. Memorials may be directed, if desired, to St. Paul’s UMC or Clarewood House Residents’ Assistance Fund at 7400 Clarewood Drive, Houston 77036.
Seale
Lynda Seale, 67, of Cleveland, TX, died Tuesday, November 13th, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX.
She was born July 18th, 1945, in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Edwina and the late Joseph Repichowski as well as the twin sister to the late Lynne Cole.
Lynda met her husband Jerry Seale while he was in the Navy and stationed in New Mexico, for whom she was married
to for 47 years.
Lynda was a loving, caring and dedicated mother and grandmother to her son Troy Seale and both her grandchildren, Zachary and Ethan Seale. She was also very committed and passionate about her community, serving on the Tarkington School Board for 22 years.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Seale; and son Troy Seale; daughter-in-law Michele Seale; two grandchildren, Zachary and Ethan Seale; her mother Edwina Repichowski of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and three brothers, Randal, Joe, and Jeff Repichowski of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
It was Lynda wishes that people should celebrate her life, and not to mourn in her passing. Therefore no memorial services are to be held.

Price
Gwendolyn Vergean Jackson-Price was born February 14, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas at Hotel Dieu Hospital to Arthur and Rose Jackson.
Growing up on the family ranch in Double Bayou near Anahuac, Texas, she was the youngest of six siblings: Mamie, Anne, Theopolis (Thea), Reginald (Reggie) and Quentin.
While attending Charlton Pollard High School Gwen would meet her future husband, Charles Wesley Price. She went on to attend Pratt Institute in New York to study her love of Costume design and later to Spelman College while Charles Wesley attended Morehouse College. Their union would create four children: Venita, Aletia, Charles and Rose. The family would eventually move from San Antonio, Texas to California. After the death of her husband in 1983, Gwen found comfort in her family and friends which led to a re-kindled appreciation for life. 41371 Whitecrest Court would later become the center for countless holidays and celebrations. Family and friends would travel from near and far to enjoy Gwen's exceptional cooking and sweet charm. Gwen would go to meet her life partner Will (Will) McIntosh. The two would share their love of traveling and eventually settle in Arizona where Gwen would live out the remainder of her life.
Gwen is survived by her children: Venita and Cincent Boatwright, Aleita and Milan Tiff, Charles Price, Rose and Robert (rob) Lanier; her 12 grandchildren: Synus' Vincent Jr., Zaade', Ravance, Vance, Vergean, Venita, Kahori, Kamal, Virginia, Khalia, Justine (Alone with her mother, Wanema); great-grandchildren, Vincent III; her life partner Will McIntosh; his children, Karen King, Sharon McIntosh, and Will JR., his grandchildren, Will Marino and Drew Marino and countless extended family and friends.
