Herndon
Roland Herndon, age 90 of Liberty, died July 8, 2013 with his loving family by his side.
Roland was born on October 26, 1922 in Plum Grove, TX, son of the late Charles and Mary Herndon. Roland graduated from Liberty High School in 1941. He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific. He received two Purple Heart metals while serving for his country. Roland was self-employed and was a deacon at Heights Baptist Church in Liberty. He loved gardening and enjoyed wood working.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Frances Herndon, brothers; Emery Herndon, Willie Ray Herndon, and Veya Herndon, sisters; Pauline Cornelius, Nellie Christmas Campbell and Josey McGowen. He leaves behind to cherish his memories; sons; Rick Herndon and wife Chris of Groesbeck, TX, Gary Wayne Herndon and wife Diana of Brooklyn, NY, daughter; Carolyn Hoffpauir and husband Cecil of Liberty, TX, grandson; Jay Michael Herndon of Groesbeck, TX, and two great-grandchildren; Kacy and Kylie Herndon.
Services for Roland Herndon will be Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11am at Heights Baptist Church in Liberty with burial to follow at Cooke cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 10, 2013, from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.
Antley
Judith A. “Judy” Harter Antley, 63, of Pearland, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the Memorial Hermann Continuing Care Hospital in Houston.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at a later date. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Judy was born December 28, 1949 in Greenville, OH, to parents; Harold W. and Zella R. Davis Harter, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in Pearland for the past seven years. She was a graduate of the Westmont High School in Ohio, a homemaker, and taught women’s bible study. She also enjoyed studying the bible, her grandchildren, spending time with family and friends, scrap booking, and helping others.
Mrs. Antley was preceded in death by her father: Harold W. Harter and wife Helen, mother: Zella R. Davis Harter, brothers: David Harter, Robert Miller, and an infant brother. She is survived by her daughters: Tyann Lee and husband Sean of Pearland and Dava Glatfelter and husband Bobby of Dayton, sisters: Karen Sullivan and husband Jim “Sully” of OH and Janet Black of OH, brother: Ron Miller and wife Aldene of CA, grandchildren: Craig Neale and wife Brittany, Rhett Neale, Ryan Lee, Brent Cone and wife Brittany, Chad Glatfelter, Ellie Glatfelter, and Laney Glatfelter, great-granddaughter: Audrey Cone and a baby Neale on the way, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Moomey
Johnathon Terrell Moomey, 25, of Liberty died Thursday July 4, 2013.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle . He loved to go fishing with his dad. He was a gifted talker and could hold conversations with anybody.
He is survived by his father, John Moomey and wife Ashley of Liberty, mother, Cheryl Terrell of Liberty; siblings, Joshua Moomey of Liberty, Tyler Nugent of Liberty, Skylar Nugent of Liberty; niece, Kylie Moomey of Liberty; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Services Chapel on Wednesday July 10, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A service of remembrance is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 10, 2013 at Faith and Family Funeral Services Chapel, officiated by Reverend Adolph Johnson and James Simmons. Burial will follow at Freddie James Nugent Memorial cemetery in Hull.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Moomey, Thomas Terrell, Billy Terrell, Hugh Bishop, Bradley Nugent and James Simmons. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Nugent and Richard Terrell.

Carolin Burnett Bryant, 73, of Liberty died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at San Jacitno Methodist Hospital in Baytown with her family by her side.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Cornerstone Church in Liberty under the directions of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Guedry cemetery. A gathering of Carolin's family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Carolin was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Zada Fidela; son, Elbert Norman Bryant, grandson, Lawrence Hughes, sister, Mary Wickersham. She was a member Cornerstone Church of Liberty. She loved making her dolls, cooking and being with family.
Carolin is survived by her husband of 57 years, Elbert Bryant; daughter, Jacqueline Burton and husband, Bill; sons, Charles Bryant, Raymond Bryant and wife, Cynthia; grandchildren, Ambrose Costanzo, Nacole Costanzo, Jessica Landers and husband, Jonathan, Benjamin Burton; great-granddaughter, Kinsley, Tera; and a host of other family and friends.

Linda Dieanne Rao, 67 of Hardin, died Friday July 5, 2013.
She enjoyed dancing and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Helen A. Nichols, 89 of Barber's Hill died Thursday, July 4, 2013 with her family by her side.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Guedry cemetery in Batson. A gathering of Helen's family and friends will be from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Helen loved ceramics, sewing and being with her grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Gorden Nichols; mother and father, William Harvey and Caroline Vanya Duty; sister, Thelma Gosch. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Barber's Hill.

Betty Latz Catchings, 79 of Moss Hill died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Graveside services will be held at 1:15 P.M. on Monday, July 8, 2012 in the Houston National cemetery.
Batty was preceded in death by her son, Gary Jennings, parents, three brothers, and a sister. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sewing and cooking.
Betty is survived by her husband of fifty years, Gus Catchings; son, David Catchings; Brian Catchings and wife, Claudia; great-grandson, Jaxson Catchings; stepson, Donald Wayne Catchings; stepdaughter, Linda Faye Catchings; and a host of other family and friends.

Nevaeh Braylynn Keith, infant daughter of Brian and Shanna Keith, died at Liberty-Dayton Hospital, Liberty, Texas on July 2, 2013.
She was born on May 31, 2013, in Kingwood, Texas.
She is survived by her parents, grandparents; June Keith and husband Wiley Eddins, Robert Keith, Nelda Ainsworth and Rhonda Ainsworth, brothers; Wyatt and Christian Keith; uncles, Harry Ainsworth and wife Karen, Scott Ainsworth, Jason Ainsworth, Larry Mercer, Robert Keith, and Justin Keith, aunts; Kali Baucum and Candi Mercer.
Visitation will be held Sunday July 7, 2013 from 6-8PM at Allison Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 10:00 am, at Allison Funeral Service Chapel followed by a private family burial.

Burkett
Alfred “Buckie” Merion Burkett Jr. died June 27, 2013 in Houston at the VA Hospital.
Buckie was born December 12, 1950 in Houston, Texas the son of Alfred Merion Burkett Sr. and Dorothy Pierce Burkett. Buckie enjoyed the outdoors; he enjoyed nothing more than being on the water with a fishing pool. He also enjoyed squirrel hunting with his father and brother. He also enjoyed a good book, a laugh, and to play chess. Buckie served in the Army during Vietnam in the infantry.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Alfred SR. and Dorothy Burkett; sister, Cynthia A. Bates and her husband James; brother, Jeffrey L. Burkett and his wife Pilar; a lifelong partner Lori, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Buckie will be held 10AM Friday July 5, 2013 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with visitation to be held one hour prior. Burial to immediately follow the funeral service in Forest Park Lawndale cemetery, Houston, Texas.
