Davis
Jewel Catherine Davis, 92, of Anahuac, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, while visiting her daughter and son-in-law in Michigan.
She was born September 13, 1921, in Brookeland, Texas to Tom Burks and Dollie Williamson. She married
the love of her life, Earl William Davis on January 19, 1938 in Bon Wier, Texas.
Mrs. Davis enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, always believing in each and every one of them and encouraging them to pursue their dreams. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, gardening, and she loved her church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl William Davis, daughters Joyce Ellen Davis and Louise Davis, sons John Wilburn Davis and Kevin Wayne Davis, sisters Ethel Burks and Marie Burks Jean and brothers Willard, Theodore and Harold Burks.
Jewel would answer to anyone that called her “Grandma” or “Memaw”, even if you weren’t one of hers, and she was the best Grandma ever! She wasn't monetarily well off, but had the richest soul of any, great sense of humor, loved to visit anyone that would stop by, and would play any board game we put in front of her with a smile. She absolutely loved her dog, Angel. Angel was her most special companion in the world, and before her it was her poodle, Holly. Friendly, kind, and turned away no stranger to feed. She was Pentecostal and a very Christian lady. She had more Pride than anyone I ever knew and although she was a Christian, whatever gift she was given she would display proudly, so long as it was appropriate, and would make sure to tell which kid or grandkid gave it to her.
She is survived by her daughter Elouise Davis Mikulenka and husband Jim; sons Gerald Wayne Davis, Thomas Earl Davis and wife Phyllis, and William Douglas Davis and wife Dawn; sixteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
A visitation with the family will be on Thursday, June 26, 2014, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 South Main, in Anahuac, Texas.
A visitation with family and friends will be on Friday, June 27, 2014 from Noon until 2:00 P.M. at Bon Wier Pentecostal Church, 133 FM 1416, where funeral services will begin at 2:00 P.M., with Rev. Glen Burks officiating.
Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Davis will be Gerald Davis, William Davis, Michael Davis, Roland Fannin, James Fannin and Keith Castle.
Interment will follow in Ford cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac, Texas.
Ulkie
Patsy Darlene Wiggins Ulkie, 63, of Dayton, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, after a brave fight with Cholangiocarcinoma, at the Heritage Villa Nursing Home in Dayton.
Patsy was born March 4, 1951 in Liberty, to parents; Clarence H. and Mary B. Piercy Wiggins, and has been a lifelong resident of the Dayton area. She was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1971 and a retired assistant manager for numerous Exxon stations in the area. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, painting china, and spending time with her dogs.
Mrs. Ulkie was preceded in death by her father: Clarence H. Wiggins, mother: Mary B. Piercy Wiggins, and brother: Roger “Mike” Wiggins. She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Archie Ulkie of Dayton, son: Lucus M. Ulkie of Dayton, step-sister: Linda Jenkins of Kenefick, and numerous other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Linda, Donella, Terry, David, Roland, and Norma, for their care given to Patsy.

Betty Ruth Kirkpatrick, 60, of Dayton, Texas, died Sunday, June 22, 2014.
Betty was born December 8, 1953 in Liberty, Texas to parents; Brandeaux “Bub” and Jearldene Dunn Campbell. Betty had been a resident of the Dayton area since 1990.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband: Royce Kirkpatrick of Dayton; daughters: Wendy Finch and husband, William of Waynesville, MO.; Jodene Medina and husband, Michael of Dayton; stepsons: Russell Kirkpatrick and wife, Katrina of Austin; Robert Kirkpatrick and wife, Anna Marie of Ft. Worth; brothers: Robert Campbell and wife, Dana of Liberty; Mark Campbell and wife, Terry of Liberty and Jerry Campbell of Dayton; sisters: Sissy Templeton of Dayton and Judy McWhorter of Liberty; grandchildren: Payton Finch, Tucker Finch, Ashton Medina, Alec Medina and Brendan Finch: numerous nieces and nephews.
Service for Mrs. Kirkpatrick will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton. Visitation will be Friday evening, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Pace-Stancil.
Williams
Anna Bell Williams, 80, of Ames, Texas died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Liberty-Dayton Medical Center in Liberty, Texas.
She is survived by her husband of thirty five years, Fillmore Williams Jr., one sister, Ada Coleman, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Wells Funeral Services Chapel at 300 Alabama in Liberty, Texas from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 11:00 am. She will lie in state from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Moss Bluff, Texas. Rev. Ernie Jay Tarver will be officiating.
Graveside Service will be Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11:00 am in Community Gardens cemetery in Rayne, Louisiana.
Wells Funeral Services at 300 Alabama in Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Drake Kayden-Lee Nobles, 2, of Dayton, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2014, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dayton with services concluding thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Hill, Dylan Hoffman, Lane Jarvis, Jamarlon Glenn, Timothy Dugas, Sonny Dugas, Alvin Nelton, Jr., and Darrell Nobles. Honorary pallbearers will be Skye Ryland and Dylan Ryland.
Drake was born December 1, 2011 in Baytown, a strong little boy making his way through many challenges. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing outdoors and watching Sponge Bob.
Drake was preceded in death by his grandparents: Robert Drake, Emma Wagner Drake, and Helga Doris Malac, great-uncle: Vernon Westlee Jordan, and family friend: Nick Buras. He is survived by his mother: Emma Drake Hill and husband Dylan of Dayton, father: Kevin W. Cantania
Clem Cantania age 87 died peacefully Tuesday June 17, 2014.
Clem was born March 5, 1927 in Liberty the son of the late Margarito Cantania and Edna Melonson Cantania. He loved to work in his garden and truly had a green thumb. Clem could work and fix anything. He worked for over fifty years for Brown & Root as a laborer. Clem was a veteran of the US Army serving for four years. He also was an active member of Our Mother of Mercy Church in Ames.
Clem was preceded in death by his parents as well as his beloved wife Dorenia Cantania and a sister Alma Semien. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, extended family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Healthcare and professional hospice. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11AM for Clem Tuesday June 24, 2014 at Our Mother of Mercy Church in Ames. Rosary services to be held at 10AM with visitation to be held from 9-10AM all at the church. Burial will immediately follow the funeral mass in Our Mother of Mercy cemetery in Ames.
Addington
Gene Addington, 61, of Dayton, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Linney cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Gene was born February 6, 1953 in Dayton, to parents; John Curtis and Alma Lee George Addington, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1972 and member of the Eastgate Church. Gene volunteered at his church in the sound booth, vacation bible school, and the kitchen. Coached his children in little league sports. He also enjoyed church activities, motorcycles, camping, and especially traveling to softball games with his grandchildren.
Mr. Addington was preceded in death by his grandparents: Curtis and Lela Addington and Emzey and Linnie George, father: John Curtis Addington, mother: Alma Lee George Addington, brother: Lloyd Addington, and grandsons: Chase Aaron Siebert and John Aaron Addington. He is survived by his wife of 27 years: Fain Price Addington of Dayton, daughters: Jennifer Addington of Indiana, Jessica Addington and husband Rex Burton of Indiana, and Paige Hanes and husband Scott of Highlands, son: Chad Addington, Sr. and wife Belinda of Dayton, sister: Lela Kay Holley and husband Gary of Kenefick, brothers: Johnny Addington of Nacogdoches and George Addington and wife Linda of Dayton, grandchildren: Makenzie Aaron Ripkowski, Camden Scott Hanes, Chad Aaron Addington, Jr., William Rex Burton, and Ava Linnlea Burton, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Briscoe
Rosalie Briscoe age 91 died peacefully Sunday, June 15, 2014, in her home surrounded by her family.
Rosalie was born in Raywood, Texas, October 25, 1922 the daughter of the late Phillip Broussard and Blanche Bobineaux Broussard. She was an obedient daughter, a caring sister, and a dedicated mother. Above all else, she loved the Lord, her family and her home. Rosalie enjoyed working on Jigsaw puzzles, reading, cooking, and listening to music. A mother to everyone, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rosalie was a homemaker and was a devoted member of her church Our Mother of Mercy in Ames.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers; Claude, Warren, Alvin, Peter, and Allen Broussard; sisters; Audrey Donatto and Doris, Bernice, and Melva Broussard; daughter Jane Couch and a son Charles Briscoe.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Quan “Joan” Walker and her husband Les, Joyce Marchand, Donna Rose Young and husband Russell, Isbell Briscoe, Ira Briscoe and his partner Rodney Matthews, Darrell Keith Briscoe and wife Sonya, Phillip Louis Briscoe, Joseph Briscoe and his wife Beverly, Claire Manning and her husband Trent; sisters; Myrtle Eaglin and Anna Mae Kelly. In addition she leaves twenty-eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated for Rosalie at noon Saturday June 21, 2014 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, a rosary service will be held at 11AM, and visitation will commence at 10AM. Burial to follow the mass in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic cemetery in Ames.

Betty K. “Maw Maw” Minton Kocian, 77, of Dayton, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with graveside services at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Lynch’s Chapel cemetery in Alto. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil funeral home in Dayton.
Betty was born July 19, 1936 in Houston, to parents; Henry Lee and Vesta M. Anderson Minton, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 23 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed puzzle books, playing solitaire, and especially spending time with her family.
Mrs. Kocian was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: La Faye Plumlee and Mary Ward, and brothers: George and James Minton. She is survived by her children: Mark Kocian and wife Jana of Huffman, Kim Brown and husband Leo of Dayton, and Raymond Kocian and wife Davena of Hardin, grandchildren: Kyle, Steven, and Jason Kocian, Christopher and Jacob Brown, Staci Williams, and Daniel Mantle, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Raymond (George) Fregia, 67, of Dayton, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 and he was born October 10, 1946 in Liberty, Texas.
He was preceded in death by parents Hubert & Bertha Mae Fregia, brothers Charles and Kenneth Fregia and sister Opal Mott.
He is survived by wife: Lolly M Fregia; sons: Richard Keith Fregia and wife Misti, James Patrick Miller and wife Pamela; daughters: Julie Michelle Peak, Lana Marie Webb.
Grandchildren Morgan and Rhett Fregia, Andy Miller, Cody Roberts, Cassie Fregia and 1 great grandchild Azeleigh Fregia . Sister Joyce and husband Bill Vanya numerous nieces and nephews and numerous family and friends.

Wicker
Woodrow Wicker, known by Woody to all who knew him, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 surrounded by family.
Woody was born on February 25, 1945 in Garrett, Kentucky to Melvin and Oma Wicker. He grew up in Lima, Ohio with 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Woody always had a job growing up. He worked at a bowling alley in Lima setting up wooden pins for 10 cents a game. In the summers, he would work at the local drive-ins. But his niche in life was driving his big rig. Woody had a sense of humor and loved to pick on those he loved.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his dogs with his whole heart. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Liberty, TX for 16 years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Woody is survived by his wife of 25 years, Bambi, his son, Doug, his step-children, April Rivera, Mike York, Chris York, Laura Lienemann and their spouses, and 10 grandchildren. As well as his brothers, Frank Nester, Babe Wicker, Cloyd Wicker, his sisters Judy Stark, Teresa Waterman and their spouses.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bob Wicker, Steve Wicker, and Melvin Darryl, and sister, Freda Wicker.
A memorial service celebrating Woody’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at The Kingdom Hall on 3716 U.S. 90 Liberty, TX. Immediately following the services friends and family may gather at TVE Dance Hall on 563 in Liberty.
