Funeral arrangements for Janie Sustaita, 89, of Palestine, are pending at Earthman Funeral Home in Houston.
Mrs. Sustaita died this morning at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.
Tomy C. “Popeye” Wilson
Services for Tomy C. “Popeye” Wilson, 54, of Goodrich, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Huntsville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Dodge Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson died Monday in Cleveland.
He was born April 1, 1948 in Huntsville.
Mr. Wilson was a U.S. Army veteran who earned a Purple Heart for his service during the Vietnam War. He was a construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Wilson; and grandparents, Charlie and Devilla Fourney and Willie and Hattie Wilson.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his mother, Loretta Wilson; sons, William “Billy” Wilson and Tomy A. “Andy” Wilson; daughter, Frances Ann Wilson; brothers, Tony Wilson, Jay Wilson and David Lee Wilson Jr.; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be William Wilson, Gary Fountain, Charlie Hill, Tommy Marshall, Bobby Baker and Steve Haynes.
Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Flourney.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Clemmie Woods
Services for Clemmie Woods, 71, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Holcomb officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Algoma Cemetery in Marshall under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Woods went to be with the Lord on Thursday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
She was born April 2, 1931 in McComb, Miss. to Clem and Alma Creel Huff.
Mrs. Woods was a homemaker. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, Palestine Chapter of Eastern Star, Dogwood Garden Club and Newcomers Club.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Woods of Palestine; daughter, Cathy Leatherwood and husband Ken of Whitehouse; son, Tim Woods and wife Amy of Palestine; brothers, David C. Huff of Marshall, Robert E. Huff of Conyers, Ga. and Thomas J. Huff of Rockwall; grandchildren, Jason Brian Woods and Ashley Nicole Woods, both of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Gene Coker, Worth Andrews, Oliver Craft, Dennis Butler, Joel Brumley and Roger Whitton. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Department 8, Fishers of Men Sunday School Class.
Condolence calls will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ora Dial
Funeral arrangements for Ora Dial, 93, are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dial died Saturday morning at East Texas Medical Center in Crockett.
W.D. McCoy Edwards
Services for W.D. McCoy Edwards, 68, of Tennessee Colony, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Beckley Heights Church of Christ at 6510 South R.L. Thornton Freeway in Dallas. A full military burial with a 21-gun salute will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National military Cemetery in Dallas.
A memorial service was held Saturday night at Salt Works Road Church of Christ in Palestine.
Mr. Edwards died Thursday in Dallas.
He was born Nov. 2, 1932, in Harleton to L.D. and Octavia Edwards.
Mr. Edwards attended Booker T. Washington High School, Arlington State College, El Centro College and Southwestern Technical Institute. He worked for Ruberoid as a machinist; Johnson & Johnson as a safety engineer; Texas Department of Corrections as a welding instructor and industrial supervisor; and Blue Bell Ice Cream as a distributor. He was a corporal in the Korean conflict and earned bronze and silver medals for bravery. He was a member of Salt Works Road Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Annie Harrison Edwards; children, Roddey Edwards and Wendell Edwards; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today at Black & Clark Funeral Home at 2517 E. Illinois Ave. in Dallas.
Sidney Hawthorne
Services for Sidney Hawthorne, 54, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. David Boyd officiating.
Mr. Hawthorne was born Nov. 24, 1946, in Leon County to Sid and Claudia Hawthorne.
He was a driller with Paterson Drilling Company.
Mr. Hawthorne was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Hawthorne; sister, Louise Scott; and brothers, James and Herbert Hawthorne.
He is survived by his wife, Gay Nell Hawthorne of Palestine; daughter, Paula Wilson of Greenville; sons, Sidney Hawthorne and Trinity James Hawthorn, both of Palestine and Millage Hawthorne of Tucker; sisters, Patsy Jeffcoat of Palestine and Ethel O’Neil of Madisonville; brother, Edward Hawthorne of Mount Calm; and eight grandchildren.
William Minton
Services for William “Billy Boy” Minton, 53, of Neches, will be at 4 p.m. today at Christ Community Church with the Rev. Barry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Neches Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Minton died Friday at his residence.
He was born Aug. 12, 1947, in Anderson County to J.D. and Ruby Elrod Minton.
Mr. Minton attended Neches schools and was a foreman at a meat packing plant. He was a member of Christ Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wanda Jean Williams.
Mr. Minton is survived by his wife, Janet Carolyn Minton of Neches; daughter, Amy Minton Coffin of Neches; sister, Linda Sue Hosch of Neches; brothers, J.D. Minton Jr. of Palestine and Robert Minton of Neches; and two grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be David Banks, Ricky Linder, Robert Minton Jr., Samuel Williams, Steven Williams and J.D. Minton III.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Beasley, Jake Hosch, Couper Knowles, Curtis Russell and Curtis Starling.
Wayne W. Brooks Jr.
Services for Wayne W. Brooks Sr. will be at 2 p.m. today at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home chapel, 18000 I-45 South in Conroe, with the Rev. C.D. Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Mausoleum.
Mr. Brooks died Thursday in Tyler.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred “Millie” Brooks: daughter, Barbara E. Andrews; son, Wayne W. Brooks Jr.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Carlos Daniels Jr.
Services for infant Carlos Dwayne Daniels Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in Corsicana with the Rev. Patricia A. Rischer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
The infant was born Friday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by his parents, the Rev. Carlos and Demetria Daniels Sr. of Streetman; sister, Ivieya Patresse Daniels; grandmother, the Rev. P.A. Rischer of Fairfield; grandfather, Carl E. Daniels Jr. of Fairfield; great-grandparents, Lena D. Horn, Sylvester and Lula Rischer and Clint and Jarah English.
Lorene Sims Price
Services for Lorene Sims Price, 74, of the Springfield community, will be at 2 p.m. today in Carrol-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Revs. Richard Palmer, Jesse Haynes and Lloyd Holt officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Anderson County.
Mrs. Price died Friday at an Athens nursing home.
She was born Nov. 4, 1927 in Van Zandt County to Virgle Andrew Sims Sr. and Birva Lee McMahan Sims.
Mrs. Price had been a resident of the Springfield community most of her life. She was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church and for many years worked as a seamstress for garment manufacturers.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Virgle Sims Jr., Earle Sims and Eddie Sims; and a sister, Patsy Pickle.
Mrs. Price is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jesse Price of Springfield; son, Terry Price of Longview; daughters, Anita Alexander of Athens and Marilyn Kidd of Murchison; sisters, Nelda Jackson and Carolyn Holley, both of Athens; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Delwyn Sims, Steven Sims, Bryan Sims, Jeffrey Jackson, Keith Sims and Danny Sims.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darren Sims, Randy Sims, Gary Sims, Vernon Price, Kevin Jenkins and Ronnie Price.

Maggie Bell Wardell
Services for Maggie Bell Wardell, 89, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine City Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Wardell died Saturday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 10, 1912 in Anderson County to Joseph Monroe and Cora Welch Brown.
Mrs. Wardell was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wardell, in 1985; two sisters, Agnes and Julia; and two brothers, Alton and Joseph.
Mrs. Wardell was a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by daughters, Frances Lanier of Palestine, Charlotte Jensen of Huntsville; son, Tommy Wardell of Palestine; sister, Vivian Valentine of Athens; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be David Pendland, Darrell Cox, Charles Lanier, Carl Lanier, Brit Kelly, Tom Wardell.

Virginia Ford Wommack
Services for Virginia Ford Wommack, 80, of Austin, will be at 2 p.m. today at Weed-Fish-Corley Funeral Home in Austin, with the Rev. John McCarthy officiating. Interment will be in Austin Memorial Park.
Mrs. Wommack died Friday in Austin.
She was born April 27, 1921 in McGregor to James Bert Ford and Hattie Russell Ford.
Mrs. Wommack grew up in Austin. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in 1938 and the University of Texas in 1942. At the University, Wommack was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She was a Bluebonnet Bell and a Sweetheart of the University finalist.
Following her graduation, Wommack was an active member of her sorority, the Junior League of Austin, the Settlement Club, and Fridays at Tarry House.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David Donald Ford.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Tommy Wommack of Austin; daughters, Diane Wommack Daniel and Gail Wommack Williams; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Billy Burns, John S. Burns Jr., David G. Ford, Joe George, Paul Parsons and Piter Pincoffs.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Campbell, John Davol, Malcolm Milburn, Gene Russell, Jack Russell and Perry Russell.
