Rulon

Jack Dale Rulon, Sr. age 73 of Batson, died Wednesday October 19, 2016 in Liberty with his loving family by his side.

Jack was born October 6, 1943 in Kountze, Texas the son of the late Leonard Jack Rulon and Ruthell Robertson Blanchard. Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Blanchard and Stepfather, John Blanchard of Liberty Texas; His natural father, Leonard Rulon of Lawton, Oklahoma; His Grandmother, Gussie Robertson, of Kountze Texas, with whom Jack spent most of his childhood. Jack is also preceded in death by his son, Jack Dale Rulon, Jr. remembered fondly by all as Jay.

He is survived by his loving wife and constant companion, Judy Rulon. Jack is survived by his daughter Candy Stansbury and her husband Steven. Jack is also survived by a number of siblings: Brothers are Kenneth Rulon, David Rulon, Bryan Rulon, and Jerry Rulon. Sisters are Nan Doucet, Betty Vaughan, and Kelly Dyer. Siblings in love are the entire Hughes family. Jack is survived by children in love Bobbie East, Tammie Rogers, Penny Brown, and Jesse Hughes. Jack also known as Papa, he is survived by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; Jordan Vining, Reese Stansbury, Tosha Hughes, Tamera East, Torrie East, Hope East, Jacob East, Natalie East, Jessica Wallace, Eric Brackin, Dustin Brown, Lorin Brown, KK Brown, Austin Brown, Sarah Hughes, Gracie Hughes, Avery Brown, Madison Wallace, Kade Brackin, Colton Brackin, Bristol Brown, Jaxon Arrant, Shyann Brown, Breann Coleman, Leiann Coleman.

Jack resided all of his life in Hardin and Liberty County. As a boy he lived with his grandmother Gussie and attended school in Kountze Texas. He was a self- made man. He joined the oil patch right out of high school as a floor hand and retired self-employed as an oilfield consultant in 2006. Jack never met a stranger. Once you met him you never forgot him. He will be forever remembered for his booming voice, (that could be heard all across town). Jack would want to be remembered as an ornery old cuss, but the truth is, he had a very tender and loving heart. He had a generous and giving spirit. Jack enjoyed hunting as a younger man and spending time in the woods with his son Jay, and family. Jack liked to pretend that he didn’t, but he enjoyed having his family with him, and Judy, at their home in Batson, Texas. Jack was known and will be remembered as Papa to his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Jack left this world on Wednesday October 19th, 2016 at 1:20 pm, at Magnolia Healthcare Liberty Texas. Visitation for Jack will be held Friday October 21, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services to be held 2 P.M. Saturday October 22, 2016 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Guedry cemetery.

Savoy

John W. Savoy, 87, of Hardin, died Saturday, October 15, 2016, at his residence.

The family will great friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton.

John was born January 2, 1929 in Beaumont, to parents; John L. and Daphne Busha Savoy. He was a retired soy bean farmer and pilot. He also enjoyed reading, history, classical music, and his beloved dogs.

Mr. Savoy was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Janice Petmecky. He is survived by his wife: Evelyn Sapp Savoy of Hardin, stepdaughters: Sheryl Broussard and Randa Carrington, stepson: John Scott McCraw, numerous other relatives and friends.

Young

Annie Mae Young, 100 years of age, died October 13, 2016 in a Beaumont Facility. She was a resident of Dayton, Texas.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19th - Wells Funeral Services (Althea P. Gibson Memorial Chapel), 300 Alabama St., Liberty Texas from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Funeral Services are Thursday, October 20th at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1406 Beauty St., Dayton, Texas at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. F. J. Revels will be officiating. Acie cemetery, Dayton, Texas is the place of interment.

Wells Funeral Services 300 Alabama, Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Tolar

Janell Ainsworth Tolar, 76, of Groesbeck, died Sunday, October 16, 2016, in Groesbeck.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Abshier cemetery in Hankamer. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Janell was born September 16, 1940 in Monroe City, to parents; Marion M. and Fannie M. Norris Ainsworth, a former resident of Liberty County, and has resided in Groesbeck for a year and a half. She was a retired cashier and a faithful church member. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing Yahtzee and Chicken Foot, and especially spending time with her family.

Mrs. Tolar was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Lloyd W. Simmons, Sr., son: Lloyd W. Simmons, Jr., daughter: Liddie P. Tolar, brothers: George Ainsworth, Joel “Barney” Ainsworth, Jack Ainsworth, and James Ainsworth, and sisters: Joyce Troope and Judy Marriett. She is survived by her sons: Timmy Simmons, Sr. and wife Terry of Lumberton and James Norris and wife Charlene of Channelview, daughter: Pamela Shaver and husband Jerrell of Mart, brothers: JD Ainsworth and wife Marilyn of Hardin and Charles R. Ainsworth and wife Cindy of Hankamer, sister: Jane Cranford of Hankamer, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Leasure

Gloria Lynn DuBose Leasure, age 61 of Baytown, formerly of Devers, TX died October 14, 2016 at her residence in Baytown.

Gloria was born December 3, 1954 in Liberty, TX daughter of the late Robert DuBose and Yvonne Miller DuBose. She graduated from Aldine McArthur High School and was a housewife most of her life. Gloria loved elderly people and she never met a stranger. She loved her grandkids and loved to fish and hunt, quilt and cook deserts.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and sister; Ola DuBose Russell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of forty-three years; Robert Leasure of Mt. Belvieu, TX, son; Matthew Leasure of Alvin, TX, daughter; Jennifer Renea Leasure of Mt. Belvieu, TX, brothers; Robert DuBose of Dayton, TX and Tommy DuBose of Shepherd, TX, honorary sister; Lea Dorsey of Highlands, TX, grandchildren; Wyatt, Mandi and Emily Leasure.

Services for Gloria Lynn DuBose Leasure will be Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service from 9am to 11am.

Manuel

Robert Earl Manuel, 78, of Dayton, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Graveside services will be held at 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at the Houston National cemetery in Houston. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Robert was born July 24, 1938 in Holcomb, Mississippi, to parents; Earl and Mary Dell Manuel, he has resided in Dayton for the past 15 years. He is a retired veteran of the US Air Force, proudly serving his county for twenty years. He was a quality control manager for most of his career lastly retiring from Piping Technologies of Houston. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Cleveland where is served as an Elder. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Carolyn.

Mr. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, brother: George Manuel, and sister: Gail Manuel. He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Carolyn Bearden Manuel of Dayton, daughter: Michelle Manuel and husband Randall Ward of Dayton, son: David Manuel of Dayton, brother: Fulton Manuel of Virginia, granddaughters: Megan Trowbridge and Michaela Williams and fiancé Andrew Kelly with one great-grandson, Sebastian on the way, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Rowland

Norma “Beanie” Joyce Rowland, 85, of Wallisville, Texas, died Friday, October 14, 2016 in Baytown, Texas.

She was born on June 25, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas to Wilber and Loda Harrington Woods. Beanie attended Barbers Hill High School and graduated from Liberty High School, Class of 1949. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas. She was a member of the Middleton Memorial United Methodist church, a member of the DAR and was involved in the DRT (Daughters of the Republic of Texas).

In her early life, Beanie was a cow-girl and cow-woman. During WWII she helped her family move cattle through the county. She could rope and corral cattle better than most men. During high school, Beanie raised a giant show bull named Politics and Barrel raced in the Liberty arena on a Palomino.

As a young woman, Beanie was part owner with her aunt Jewel Rogers of Young Ages Baby Store in Liberty where she met her husband Norris. Beanie was the Chambers County Clerk for 30 years. She was a chairman for the Chambers County Historical Commission. She was a historical archivist and genealogist whose passion was protecting the records and history of Chambers County for 30+ years. Beanie was once an investigator for the Liberty County Juvenile Courts. Those who knew her know she will be taking care of the elections from Heaven.

Beanie was a dynamic woman who loved her family. She was known as a champion and protector of people. She had strong family values. When her children were young and would ask to go swim in the Anahuac Community pool, she decided to teach them work ethic and put them to work digging their own swimming pool. After rallying the cousins to help the kids, the pool was eventually completed, and they enjoyed it for many years. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Beanie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 60 years Stephen Norris Rowland, Sr.; and her brothers Judge Wilber “Dub” Woods and Frank Edward “Popdeck” Woods. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Stephen Norris Rowland, Jr. and wife Stephanie; Edward Wilber Rowland and wife Peggy; and Amanda Karlynn Rowland; her grandchildren Timothy Branden Nash, Thomas Christopher Nash, Stephen Norris Rowland, III, Brittany Elise Rowland and Landon Edward Rowland; her great-grandchildren Timothy Ian Nash, Anthony Oscar Nash, Allie Joy Nash and Britton Carl Mooney; her sister Barbara “Bobbie” Loujauna Woods Herlitz; sister-in-law Molly Woods and her children, Edward Woods, and Christi Woods, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Stephen Rowland III, Christopher Nash, Branden Nash, Don Herlitz, Micheal Rowland, Robert Breibart, and Justin Houghton.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1pm until 2pm at the First United Methodist Church in Anahuac, 204 Trinity Street, Anahuac, Texas. Funeral services will begin following the visitation at 2pm. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Watts

Frances Amanda Watts 86, of Hardin, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Magnolia Place Health Care, LLC in Liberty, with her loving family by her side.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11; 00 A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Tony Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Felps cemetery in Thicket.

Serving as pallbearers are Cory Earnest, Brayson Earnest, Aden Watson, Joseph Gahan, Jack Summers, Chase Burnett and Landen Earnest.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

Frances was born September 23, 1930 in Thicket, to Ira Allemang Sr. and Pallie Loftin. She had lived in Hardin for about 36 years, and was a homemaker and a member of Hardin Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Falls, daughter, Sondra Summers and brother Ira Allemang Jr.

Survivors are husband, Kenneth "Kenny" Watts of Hardin, daughters, Brenda Burnett and husband Marvin of Kountze, and Melissa "Lisa" Gahan of Cleveland, son -in- law, Edward" Flupe" Summers of Hardin step-daughters, Karen Waters and husband Ron of College Station, Loretta Daniels of Rapid City, South Dakota and Gailia Smith and husband Brandt of Jonesboro, Arkansas., Sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" Berryhill of Liberty, step-son Bruce Watts and wife Robbie of Montgomery, TX.

Grandchildren are Tabitha Holloway, Michael Gahan, Joseph Gahan, Dawn Minton, Sabrina Brandt, Amanda Ballard, Chrissy Watson, Mary Summers and Jack Summers, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Henicke

Frank Gus Henicke, 86, of Spring, Texas diedSunday, October 9, 2016 in Houston, Texas.

He was born on August 1, 1930 in Victoria, Texas to Benard and Minnie Kleiber Henicke. Frank was a co-founder of New Field Exploration where he worked for many years in various capacities and was a superintendent until his retirement.

Frank had many hobbies some of which included deer hunting and vegetable gardening. He was a character most of the time who loved his wife and family unconditionally. Frank and Rosemary were married for 63 years and they still acted like newlyweds. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Frank proudly honored his country by serving in the United States Army, was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Anahuac and a member of the Masonic Order.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his son Darryl Henicke; one sister; and his four brothers. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Rosemary Haynes Henicke; his sons Aaron Henicke and wife Janelle of Lubbock, Texas and Michael Henicke and wife Judy of Baytown, Texas; his ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; several siblings; and a host of other extended family and friends.

Honoring the family and serving as pallbearers will be Frank’s grandsons Jason Henicke, Cullen Henicke, Adam Henicke, Cory Henicke, Sam Henicke and Jeremy Henicke.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home located at 1201 South Main Street in Anahuac. Funeral service will begin at 2pm at First Baptist Church, 405 Magnolia Avenue South, Anahuac, Texas. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Harrison

Robert Glenn “Bo” Harrison age 77 died October 10, 2016 in Houston, TX.

Bo was born June 29, 1939 in Liberty, TX, the son of the late Coyle Harrison and Margaret Hightower Harrison. He was a graduate of Liberty High school class of 1957 and of Sam Houston State University. He first started his teaching and coaching career at Madisonville Jr High. He continued his career at Dulles High School, Sharpstown Jr. High School, and Sharpstown Sr. High School. Bo finished his career as the head football coach at Robert E. Lee High School where he won the district championship in 1979. Bo joined Buffalo Marine Service in 1980 where he served as Vice President for the past thirty-six years. Bo was a devoted grandfather, sports enthusiast, and golfer.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Jo Ann Seals Harrison, brothers John Coyle Harrison and Donald Ray Harrison.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Donna Lynn Nabers of Katy, TX and a son Michael Douglas Harrison of Houston, TX. In addition he leaves his grandchildren, Lauren Scott Nabers, Kailey Anne Nabers Jack Harrison Nabers and Samuel Scott Nabers as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation for Bo will be held Thursday October 13, 2016 from 12-2 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services to be held at 2 P.M. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Fairlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Ray Harrison, Jr., Bill Harrison, Jim Harrison, Glen Harrison, Jack Nabers, and Sam Nabers. The family would like to thank the devoted doctors, nurses and staff at Herman Memorial Southwest Hospital and Grace Care Center of Katy, TX. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bo’s memory to the National Parkinson Foundation, Easter Seals of Houston, or to a charity of one’s choice.

Lee

Dwayne Lee, 36, of Dayton died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in Houston, Texas.

Memorial service for Dwayne will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Dwayne was born February 28, 1980 in Eugene, Oregon. A longtime resident of Dayton, he was a 1999 graduate of Dayton High School. He worked for Baytown Ford where he was financial manager. Dwayne loved being in the outdoors, all the Houston sports teams, especially the Texans and hunting. He was a very social person, a born salesman and the ultimate closer.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Canter, grandparents, Leo Marks, Velma Marks, Bernice Marks, Jerry Martin, and brother-in-law, Christopher Heighton. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Crystal Lee of Dayton; parents, Denise and Michael Martin of Dayton; grandparents, Sharon Martin of Dayton and Nita Herrington of Dayton; brother, Steven Perry of Baytown; sisters, Jarea Keiser and husband Gage of Baytown and Amy Beth Pickett of Hawaii; sister-in-law, Ashley Heighton; mother-in-law, Lori Williams and husband Mike; uncles, Bill Marks, Dennis Marks and wife Valerie, and David Herrington and wife Cyndi; also his special pet Mitzi, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
