Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary.
He was a lifelong resident of Beaumont.
Survivors include Carolyn Chirafis of Beaumont; mother, Tess Stephens of Beaumont; brother, Alton Stephens of Cleveland, Ohio.

EDDIE S. STERLING
Eddie S. Sterling, 56, of Starks, La., died Sept. 30, 2000, at a local hospital in DeQuincy, La.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Emalie Obrlen Center in Starks with burial at Miller Annex Cemetery in Starks under the direction of Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service today at the center.
A native of Orange, he lived in Starks 10 years and was a fitter/welder in the shipbuilding industry. He was also a Vietname War U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Sterling of Starks; sons, DeWayne Behan of Deweyville, Gene Leblanc and Aaron Sterling, both of Orange and Ronnie Boots of Mesquite; daughters, Carolyn Pellerin of Starks, Stephanie Alms of Nevada, Texas and Jennifer Kinser of Sachee; brother, Harvey Sterling of Orange; and sister, Nancy Brock of Beluahville, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Allen Aldridge, 15, of Vidor died May 6, 2000 at his residence.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor with burial at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home.
A native of Beaumont, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor and was a ninth grade student at Vidor High School.
Survivors include his parents, Jack N. Aldridge Jr. and Christina Aldridge of Vidor; brother, Blake Randall Aldridge of Vidor; and grandparents, Jack and Eva Aldridge, Ike and Peggy Peevey, and Barbara and Phil Fleming, all of Vidor.

Vivian Armstead, 64, of Beaumont died May 4, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mercy Funeral Home on Gladys St., with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
A native of Cheneyville, La., she lived in Beaumont many years.
Survivors include her sister, Jessie B. Armstead of New Orleans, La.

Betty Joy Burks, 66, of Beaumont died May 5, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with graveside service at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Magnolia Springs. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Town Bluff, she lived in Beaumont most of her life and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Guy W. Burks of Beaumont; sons, Glenn Burks and Rickey Burks, both of Kountze, and Jerry Burks of Magnolia Springs; brother, Larry Crosby of Lumberton; and four grandchildren.

Roy Arten Carr, 86, of Orange died May 6, 2000 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Gulfport, Miss., he lived in Orange and Galena Park and was a sales clerk from Foley’s Department Store in Houston.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan Reed Henry, 71, of Beaumont died May 4, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Cremation will be handled by Beaumont Haven of Rest Crematory under the direction of Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Longe Chapel First United Methodist Church.
A lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was a retired supervisor from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
Survivors include her brother, Herbert H. Reed of Georgetown; two nieces; and five nephews.

A native of San Augustine, she lived in Beaumont most of her life and was a retired registered nurse.

Randy Minaldi, 44, of Nederland died May 5, 2000 at Mid-Jefferson Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Nederland, he was a self-employed pipefitter in the construction industry.

Jake Matthew Oliver, infant son of Mark and Brenda Oliver of Kountze, died May 5, 2000 at St. Luke Hospital in Houston.
Services were handled by Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze.
Survivors other than parents include brother, Danny Anderson of Boston, Mass.; grandparents, Larry and Marie Kinney of Baytown; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Paul Ray "Two-Ray" Thompson II, 25, of Rye died May 5, 2000 near his residence.
Memorial service will be held at a later date under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.
A native of Houston and former resident of Des Moines, Iowa, he was a resident of the Big Thicket/Rye area.
Survivors include his parents, Paul Thompson of Houston and Peggy Thompson of Rye; son, Paul Ryan Hayden Thompson of Arkansas; daughters, Brittany Thompson and Mara Thompson, both of Arkansas; brother, William Oscar Thompson of Newton, Iowa; sisters, Teresa Herrington, Florance Thompson, and Virginia Denton, all of Newton, Iowa; and grandmother, Addie BumGardner of Houston.
