Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fondel Memorial Chapel in Jennings, La., with burial at Parkview Cemetery in Jennings. A wake will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Lake Charles, and former resident of Jennings, he lived in Lake Charles many years and was an automobile dealer.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Evans Byars of Lake Charles; daughters, Marthasue Evans of Kinder, La., and Carveshia Byars of Lake Charles; son, Ahamaud Austin of Austin; brothers, Clifton Anderson of Alaska, Trelius Anderson of Slidell, La., Arthur Johnson and Arthur Ethridge, both of Jennings; sisters, Sandra Coleman of North Carolina and Shawana Jones of LaPlouche, La.; mother, Martha Pattum Guillory of Lake Charles; stepfather, Gene Guillory of Lake Charles; and grandmother, Stella Ethridge of Jennings.

Carol Caraway, 47, of Winnie died Aug. 31, 2000 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Winnie with burial at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Winnie. Visitation will begin at noon today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the mortuary.
A native and longtime resident of Winnie, she was a Gulf Coast Bank loan secretary.
Survivors include her parents, Loraine and Ernest LeBouff of Winnie; husband, Bob Caraway of Winnie; son, Aaron R. Godeaux of China; stepson, Victor Caraway of Castle Rock, Colo.; brother, Harry LeBouff of Silsbee; and sister, Kathleen Green of Liberty.

James Evans, 65, of Galveston died Aug. 28, 2000 at his residence.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary in Galveston with burial at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Proctor’s Mortuary in Beaumont. A wake will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the family mortuary.
A lifelong resident of Galveston, he was a longshoreman.
Survivors include daughters, Jamie Evans, Tarnicsha Evans and Andrea Evans, all of Houston; sons, Bernard Evans, James Evans and Andrew Evans, all of Beaumont; and sisters, Mary Jane Evans Darnell and Jerri Stone, both of Galveston.
TERESA ‘BILLIE’ FORET
Teresa "Billie" Foret, 86, of Groves died Aug. 31, 2000 at her residence.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A vigil will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Houston, she lived in the Groves and Port Arthur areas 67 years.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.

James McCullen Foy, 45, of Liberty died Aug. 29, 2000 in Saratoga.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakshade Cemetery in Cleveland under the direction of Allison Funeral Service in Liberty.
A lifelong resident of Liberty, he was a Camel Well Service roughneck.
Survivors include his wife, Lory Lynn Garner Foy of Liberty; son, James A. Garner of Liberty; mother, Rose Littlefield of Russellville, Ark.; brother, Larry E. Foy of Arkansas; and sisters, Maggie Stevenson of Florida and Donna Roger and Catherine Ross, both of Texas.

Charles James Gallagher Sr., 68, of Port Neches died Aug. 31, 2000 at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pat A. Riley Funeral Home in Nederland with burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Boston, Mass., he lived in the Port Neches and Nederland areas 36 years and was a retired Seafarers International engineer.

A native of Fred, he lived in Woodville six years and was a driller.

A native of Lafayette, La., she lived in Lake Charles most of her life.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Jasper.

Rose B. Levy, 76,of Los Angeles died Aug. 22, 2000 in Los Angeles.

A native of Beaumont, she lived in Los Angeles many years and was a retired schoolteacher.

A native of Erin, he lived in the Jasper area most of his life and was owner of Morgan’s Grocery. He was a retired Texas Highway Department Tech 4 and a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.

A native of Glendale, Ariz., she lived in Beaumont more than 30 years.

A longtime resident of Lufkin, he was a self-employed farmer and a U.S. Army veteran.
